Your hospitality and your Brotherhood and I want to tell you all something about your pastor that you probably probably know he is an extreme veter so he did not just give me Brotherhood right away he had to vet me out he had to fill me out and make sure that I was
Legit but once I went through his test has been on ever since so I want to thank you again for giving me this invitation to say what thus sayeth the Lord to all the ministers officers Deacon’s Le members and the Divine n and our HBCU this morning I greet you and
Certainly I want to thank my brother beloved for that hearty introduction and it has been last year I celebrated 20 years of being a member of alpha F Alpha Fraternity Incorporated I remember I tell you all really quickly when I first crossed it was 2003 and the brothers at the time spring
93 was celebrating their 10year anniversary and I remember being 21 years old and I was with three of my Lon Brothers watching them carry on in our Student Union reminiscent and I remember thinking that 30 was old at that time and I promise you all I did not think at
That time that I was going to age I didn’t think it and so it really just blows me away just to know that I have passed that Mark two times over and I am 20 years myself but I’m certainly thankful and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of an
Organization that has literally Chang the trajectory of my life I usually tell people outside of me knowing Jesus outside of my family Alpha VI Alpha has been the gift that has kept on giving and I am so grateful to be in the number so grateful to be in the so shout out to
All of our D9 organizations shout out to our HBC organizations as well indeed there is a word from the Lord this morning Hallelujah I don’t know what your protocol is but if you could again stand for the hearing of God’s word I want to for a few moments allotted me I won’t be
Before you long I promise but for the few moments allotted to me to draw your attention to the Book of Exodus 18th chapter the 13th through the7th verse and when you have it say Amen Exodus the 18th chapter verses 13- 27 when you have it say
Amen I think that’s the the majority of people and the word of the Lord reads the next day Moses took his seat to serve as judge for the people and they stood around him morning till evening father-in-law saw all that Moses was doing for the people he said what is
This that you are doing for the people why do you alone sit as judge while all these people stand around you from more until evening Moses answered him because the people come to me to seek God’s will whenever they have a dispute it is brought to me and I decide between the
Parties and inform them of God’s decrees and instructions verse 17 Moses his father-in-law replied what you are doing is no good you and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out the work is too heavy for you everybody say the work is too heavy for you work is
Too heav for repeat after me again the work is too heavy for you the work is too heavy uh-huh you cannot handle it alone listen now to me and I will give you some advice and may God be with you you must be the people’s representative before God and bring
Their disputes to teach them his decrees and instructions and show them the way they are to live and how they are to behave but select capable men from all the people men who fear God trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain Point them as officials over thousands hundreds 50s
And T verse 22 have them serve as judges for the people at all times but have them bring every difficult case to you the simp simple cases they canide themselves that will make your L lighter because they will share it with you if you do this and God so commands you will
Be able to stand the strain and all these people will go home satisfied Hallelujah in verse 24 Moses listened to his father-in-law and did everything he said I wonder if you can help me preach my sermon topic and look to the person on your left and right and say neighbor
Neighbor oh neighbor oh neighbor it’s too much for me it’s too much for me look to somebody else and say oh neighbor oh neighbor it’s too much it’s too much for me for me Hallelujah father we just thank you so much for this day God we thank you for giving us the
Opportunity father to share your word God we thank you so much for your word Lord God we thank you that your word is the entrance to light Lord God it’s a light unto our feet Lord God and a lamp unto our F unto our path father we ask
You right now Lord God to decrease me Father God I’ve done my work father I’ve done my study and father I pray as you always do Lord God to let your spirit go before me Lord God let the people be terrified Lord God and the devil be
Terrified in Jesus name we pray amen you may go to the seats it’s too much for me it’s too much for me Hallelujah in my late 20s and mid 30s to mid-30s if you asked me whether I wanted to Pastor someday I would give you I would have
Given you a hard and definite note presently if you ask me the same question I would say something along the lines of I prefer not to and I can give you the main reason why I say no compared to inundating you this morning with other reasons the main source brothers and
Sisters of my contention in becoming a pastor and this message is deliver me if it’s not delivering you this morning my main source of contention in not becoming a pastor and leading God’s people was the deep-seated belief that I could no longer have fun yeah I thought I know y’all probably
Thought it was some other deep and profound reasons and I could give you some but that’s not the purpose of why I’m here today the main source of my contention preachers and deacons and members and friends is that I felt in my heart in my very soul that if I became a
Pastor if I became the one solely responsible for leading God’s flock thought that that would mean in return that I could no longer have the fun that I want to have while I have devoted my life to intense discipline and focus to be where
I am today I am equally if not more of an ENT supporter advocate of being intentional with bringing joy to my life Hallelujah everybody say joy joy according to science journalist Katherine price in the book The Power of fun how to feel live again she critiques traditional definitions of fun most of
Us she asserts think of fun as indulgent most of us think of fun even as immature or selfish instead she defines true fun as the magical Confluence of playfulness connection and flow which is intentionally integrated in our lives and she argues that this level of intentional and true fun leads to more
Productivity everyone say productivity productivity less resentment less stress and most importantly the ability to enjoy whatever process you are in this was never this was never taught to me as a child this philosophy was never taught to me as an adolescent this philosophy brothers and
Sisters was never even taught to me as a young adult and this philosophy has never still been acknowledged to me even now in mature adulthood every leader that I grew up seeing it looked as if they was not having fun serving the lord was a serious absolutely abely did
They have the anointing absolutely I am a product of seeing I remember when I was 12 years of age and I remember seeing a a lady walk in with wheelchair and that was the first time I saw a miracle because she walked out of that church without her wheelchair I am a
Product of seeing signs and miracles and wonders and seeing the mothers be so serious seeing the deacons be so serious with and walk with the Lord which I do critique today I don’t feel as if our leaders on average is as serious as I saw the Saints of the past but on the
Other hand everybody say on the other hand on the other I have some healthy critiques of what I saw growing up and I wish if I could go back to that time Pastor that I would have told one of my elders and and would have probably
Wanted to urge one of the mothers and one of the deacons to lighten up just a little bit when we would go to the barbecues and we would have the outfits the the mothers would have the the jean skirts you know and they would have the
Tener Sho the large white tube socks and the whole night y’all know about it don’t act like y’all don’t know don’t act like you don’t know right and and everything which I totally totally believe in was covered up you know everything was about modesty and I think
We can use some modesty right now in the present day society and and and the the age that we are living in but again if I had to go back I would have said I wish my people who were serving the lord had a little bit more fun because here’s
What it did for a person like me who was always having fun with my life I was traveling I was doing this I was doing that it made me feel like I don’t know I know the Lord the Lord has called me the Lord called me when I was 15 years of
Age but one of the reasons why I did not move so urgently on my call because again I was like I want to look like that you know I I I like the clothes that I wear you know and I don’t want to feel like if I if I answer my call to
The Lord that I can’t wear my Nikes am I talking about it and so and so I had these weird yet I felt they were legit concerns about the VIS the external representation that I was looking at from the people of God who was representing the banner of Christ
Everybody say have a little bit more fun fun and and so this brings me this brings me to someone that that rocked the church Airwaves in in 2019 and I remember when Pastor John Wesley the pastor of the Beloved and historic Alfred Street Baptist Church in
The DMB area he sh the church world when he announced in a ground sermon some of you may have heard it some of you might have been watching it in real time after this service but he announced in a groundbreaking sermon that he needed a break from doing the Lord’s work and
That he was and quote tired in my soul everybody ever felt tired in their soul this man this brother stood before his congregation in the most vulnerable way and he said and quote I am tired in my soul and felt and quote so distant from God how sway can it be that God’s
Very elect that that the ones that God speaks and ministers and funnels down Revelation could the very elect of God feel tired in their soul how could how could the very elect of God feel so distant from God my goodness how do this happen how do we
How as the people of God who are doing the work not even just our pastors but for those of you who are representing your Den organizations those of you who are representing Social Service organizations those of you who are even just the family matri and the Patriarchs
How is it that the people who are doing the best work the people who are doing God’s work are the very people that feel tired in their sto Souls they feel distant from God how could it be that God Shepherds are sick from serving how are God’s very elect feeling
Like their flame has been extinguished here here if you allow me for a moment a snapshot of what Pastor Wesley’s workload consisted of here me for a moment 30 years everyone say 30 years 30 years 30 years of preaching over 5,000 sermons can you imagine it Sunday after
Sunday putting yourself in a position where you have to hear from the Lord because it’s easy hear from yourself it’s easy to get up and just say some of anything but that would not be what God wants you to do so to posture yourself day in and day out just
To get here to the house on Sunday morning just to give you a word word from the Lord 5,000 times in Plus in County can you imagine doing this 5,000 times can you imagine preaching the word of God 5,000 times he also reported his workload consisted of Pastor leading four
Services every weekend averaging 4500 in attendance and 50,000 viewers online for the past 11 years at the time of his sermon having to be on call Daily journeying with people through the highs and lows of life through the Great Moments of Celebration The Valley of
Death as he called it and so much more that I know he had no energy to disclose what I loved the most was every time his Humanity came forth in his sermon I love when his Humanity came forth when I listened to this brother’s testimony towards the end of his address
He said after church I want you all to listen to this after church I want to experience this miraculous phenomenon you talk about called Brunch I’m going give y’all a chance to let that sink in he told the Saints he said listen I want to experience this miraculous phenomenon
That you all slam yourselves out the building of to a t called Brunch I to know now this is not Donald Garner this is this is he said pastor Wesley said I want to know what a mimosa tastes like suay that’s what he said I want to know
What a mosal tastes like on Sunday and see I felt this brother’s pain because that was one of the things that hit me hit me the most brothers and sisters because immediately like I said before I became a minister I was on the E train at somebody’s brunch before the
Benediction singing praise God from whom all blessing CL before the Lord called me into Ministry I was one of the main ones out the building because we were letting life just flow a brunch now what we are not doing in the pull pit is Condon thinkinking this morning but what is
Being lifted up here is this notion that he felt I ol ated from the joys of Fellowship without surveillance without surveillance everybody else in other words is having fun everybody else is living their lives and doing things as they want to do it why can’t I as the
Preacher why can’t I not even just as the preacher why can’t I as the servants leader have a little fun without people watching me 24/7 is what Pastor West was lifting up Hallelujah Wesley and others who steep into new levels of conness about their capacity perhaps confronting the grind culture that Trisha hery
Shares in her book rest is resistance a Manifesto and she shares how toxic grip has normalized pushing our bodies to the brink of Destruction and and limited our understanding of our selfworth as Divine beings according to hery these capitalistic systems have manipulated us so that we stay
Exhausted I’m G say that again she says these capitalistic systems have manipulated us so that we stay exhausted for Wesley he had finally had had enough had he met the definition of what my social Pro he had met the definition of what my social work professor said about change while in
Class in graduate school and Professor riddle said she asked us a pop question in class and these are a bunch of you know thinkers and we got all these good grades on our GRE and so on and so forth and she asked she said class what do you
Know what do we know about change and we all and we looked around and we was of course trying to come up with a philosophical answer since we were in graduate school and while was cricket she said people change when it’s too painful to stay the same she said people change when it’s
Too painful to stay the same and Pastor Wesley brothers and just like many of us probably in the congregation and you may not want to admit that this and that is fine but he he had had enough by doing good I along with Pastor Wesley unfortunately are not the only ones who
Feel the brunt and deniable weight of serving others to Big extremes numerous articles report pastors struggling with being too hard on themselves to maintain their status as a role model and spiritual leader while they know they are human they have a difficult time time accepting their flaws and
Mistakes Alex Johnson a pastor based out of Washington Washington State she states that and she is a is a a author that that that researches pastoral failure and restoration found that there are real addictions of the approval that comes from being a pastor there are real addictions from approval of what it
Comes in being being a pastor ask yourself this morning are you able to fulfill all the roles people have in their heads for you to play ask yourself for two seconds are you able this morning to fulfill all R people have in their heads for you to
Play tell you it’s too much for me it’s too much tell your neighbor again it’s too much for me and you all are going to hear that phrase throughout this sermon Nicole Phillips director of black church studies at Emmer’s School of the theology lifts up those expectations for black pastors and she
Says that the expectations of black pastors are especially High black pastors are expected to be problem solvers black pastors are expected to be Community leaders black pastors are expected to respond to every every single social eill they are expected to be May counselors black pastors and leaders are expected to be mentors black
Pastors and leaders are expected to be aunties and they are expected to be uncles and they are expected to be big brothers and mother figures and the like ask yourself again are you able to fulfill all the roles people have in their heads for you to play look
In the Journal of religion and health it was reported and I’m taking my time with these numbers because I want you all to really feel the magnitude of the weight that it requires to serve God’s people in the Journal of religion and health it was reported that black women
Pastors face the additional stressor of having their pastoral leadership challenged by their male congreg black pastors faced more stresses during the covid-19 pandemic including Church closures transitioning to Virtual Services unexpected deaths and an increased workload with approximately 72.5 of pastors reporting moderate to extreme stress levels tell your neighbor it’s too much for
Me it’s just too much for me I imagine my mind that the Unspeakable degree of Courage Pastor Wesley had to muster and confront to the thousands of his e members but especially his flock become too familiar by his service his admission is one of the reasons why again I never thought I want
To be a pastor perhaps some of you this morning under the sound of my voice also knows what it’s like to experience levels of fatigue and weariness HBCU leaders and presidents fighting the pressures of external forces of systemic racism battling with board members bed down with a DA burden of convincing
White allies and and and and white enemies and black people that these institutions matter and that its existence is the difference in a black student bringing into ational curses If Only They can just step their foot on hcu soil time and time again the people
Doing good or at least trying to do so find themselves as I a mentioned burning down with the doing of good work but if I haven’t learned anything in my four Decades of living is that even superheroes lose steam even your greatest superhero Batman Superman I don’t care what type
Of man or woman even the greatest of the superheroes has a Kryptonite even the greatest of superheroes that you Marvel about it if you read like myself growing up even they at some point has a stopping point everybody say they lose St have you ever experienced am I the
Only one that’s that’s that’s aware of the fact that this body of ours at some point it runs our Ste it runs out of steam I know we might look healthy I know we might go to the gym we might take our vitamins but at
Some point the way as the as as a new as the Young Folks say now life be lifen and because life be life in past we’re going to run out of fuel we’re going to run out of of steam and I have learned in my Years of Living that it
Does not matter who you are what sorority and fraternity you are a member of or the quality of your skiwi or the quality of your blue F the quality of your o the scope your Social Capital Curr that at some point do on you as it
Did with rley and many others of us including me with you just won’t have it and if you cannot connect with what I am talking about just embrace the wisdom of my granny in the South when she’d always say baby keep living baby keep living you may not hear
It now for the young people that’s in the room you may not think you have an idea of what I’m talking about I see about four or five of you that’s under 18 but if you just listen to what my grandy says baby keep living because in
About 5 years in about 10 years those lessons and those mors and those anecdotes that was passed out they’re going to hit you they’re going to get you just as sure as I’m looking at you they’re going to get you just keep living just keep living because at some point you’re
Going to know what it feels like to to to to have the capacity to have the desire and still not have the ability to see that thing do that you want to get done hallelujah I am certain that Reverend Wesley like many of us can admit that some of our stresses we
Experience are not all at the fault of external forces and pressures from having a leadership post a lot of times they are self-inflicted and are unnecessary these self-inflicted wounds often stem from perhaps glorifying what the role of the leader what the role of Pastor is after forgetting that we are
Only human and can do so much the position in theory the positions that we hold in theory in our social organizations in our church institutions in the they are perfect and supreme The Vessel however carry out the work is not that means you that means
You he or she is finite is limited and we find in our anchor text this morning Moses God’s chosen leader in a predicament where his individual efforts and strengths is at a physical Crossroad had it not been for a Divine Holy Spirit intervention to alter his perspective to
Save his life do me a favor and tell your name again it’s too much for me just prior to this text brothers and sisters Moses already experienced what it looked and felt like to lose capacity at a time where it mattered the most but have credible others teamwork to help
Him land with Victory we know the story when Moses when Moses’s hands grew tired which everyone’s will at so Point Aon and her propped a stone under him and held his arms his hands up so that his hands remained steady holding up his arms was the support Moses needed to
Lead the people in Victory against the elites so Moses in other words brothers and sisters is no stranger to teamwork making the dream work yet what is interesting about our text this morning is that Moses is about to receive a critique for engaging in selfreliance that he is mostly unaware
And and unconscious of and it goes directly against the collective support he had just received from Aaron and her in Exodus 17 what is so scary yet so true about a lot of us brothers and sisters is that even as adults we can be operating in a state of unconsciousness
Not knowing we don’t know not knowing what we don’t know our anchor text this morning invites our attention to Moses is showing Jethro his father-in-law the way he was judging his people the Bible tells us that this sacred Act take place literally all day someone say all
Day from morning until evening and that jeffro sits through the entire process so in other words Jethro is watching and observing all of what Moses is doing for his people and he’s watching it from morning from afternoon until the evening time so he spends all day observing and watching someone who has seen
And done what Moses is already doing and finally he opens up with a couple of questions and what I love about the beginning of this story brothers and sisters that we just read is that jeffro uses what Educators call the Socratic method he he asked him a series of
Questions to get the person to reflect and provide answers that the teacher already knows it’s not this process is not for Moses it’s not for Jethro but it is for Moses and he poses the first set of questions what is this that you are doing for the people why are you doing
This alone and I want to pause right here and thank God can we put our hands together right now for the elders can we put our hands together for the wise counsel glory be to God I can shout here thinking about all of the times brothers and sisters I call myself doing
Something and those wiser than me who cared enough and loved me enough and said no Dy that’s not it the way I grew up they didn’t care about your feelings old school didn’t care about your feelings you took it and you better had taken the advice because it wasn’t what
Optional can anybody testify and put your hands together again for people who said why are you doing it this way why are you doing it alone all throughout the word of God moving in the spirit of community is a dominant tool in the toolkit for Christian journey and
Leadership we are told in Ecclesiastes for and not two better than one because they have a good return for their labor if either of them falls down one can’t help the other up and Proverbs 15 and22 declares to us that plans fail because of a lack of wise counsel but with many
Advisors they succeed after after Jethro asked Moses is the question he already knew the answers to the Bible reveals Moses as a self-center one man show type of leader he is the dispute solver he is the one negotiating with the people he is the decision maker and he is the
Liazon between the people getting to God are y’all TI listening to all those titles that Moses had did y’all hear all the titles that Moses had for the people now can also infer that Moses is on the way to Drowning because a lack of Delegation everyone say delegation what we perhaps may not
Realize about delegation is that it has a lot to do with the way we view ourselves and the people we lead could the reason why everyone is so dependent on Moses then be a case of his insecurity insecure leaders intentionally and they often diabolically watch this they pick
Talents he or she can control instead of cultivate again we are not certain that this again why Jetro his father-in-law was critical in asking questions that would help him achieve higher levels of operational of Excellence I was moved brothers and sisters by the dialogue between Jetro and Moses in the text
Because it’s clear that Jethro is committed to Moses gaining A New Perspective of his practices the time he keeps it all the way real with him is in verse 17 and 18 and this is the one I love the most he says what you are doing
Is no good you and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out the work is too heavy for you you cannot do it alone everyone repeat after me the work is too heavy for you work is too heavy for you you cannot do it
Alone Al can I tell you brothers and sisters when you are drowning it is not enough for someone to come and give you a mirror to let you know and see something you already know mirrors only show the reality of situation they don’t help you in your time of need but how
Many of you know this morning you are drowning you need people who are going to not only sound the alarm but you need people to give you a Lifeboat you need people to rescue you from your demise mirrors are fine when your life is not
So much at stake in those cases we can afford to be reflective but when you are in imminent danger a Lifeboat and credible others like jeffro Discerning to know the difference this is why the Bible tells us open rebuke is better than Secret Love faithful are the wounds
Of a friend but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful this life changing dialogue ends with jeffro offering specific instructions to build his capacity instead of being overwhelmed by his predicament jeffro’s instructions are designed to deliver him from the need to be needed anybody ever met people who
Have a need to be needed they position themselves in such a way where everybody has to depend on them for the answers they position themselves in a way where everybody has to depend on them for the solutions and in fact if we were to read most books and articles or even have
Conversations with other leaders we will find without much debate that the most optimal sign of leadership is the ability for that leader to produce what other leaders he shows him this that his success will come from growing the people with responsibility and not standing in the place as their God or
Representative let us not forget the significance of Jethro this morning who my brothers and sisters is helping you bring your blind spots to who can you see who can help you see when you get sidetracked who do you have in your corner making sure you are aware of your
Assignment because the reality is we cannot see our our eles we cannot see ourselves when we doing when we are doing the work and that’s why we need credible others not just others we need credible others who look at you with the Holy Spirit lens and give you wise and
Sav instruction to save your very life Hallelujah you need to make sure brothers and sisters that you have the ear of the elders in this season to help you navigate what your tender and what our inexperienced eyes cannot see Hallelujah and as I take my seat brothers and sisters as I reflected on this text there are many ways to
Diagnose or critique Moses’s leadership of the people persons who are business experts like those from the Harvard Business Review might have told Moses to stop overdoing his strengths overdoing strengths of according to subject matter experts suggest that it’s just as harmful watch this it’s just as harmful to overdo a
Strength as it is to underdo it strengths taken too far eventually become weaknesses and they run the risk of becoming extremely lopsided for example a leader like Moses who was very good at building consensus may have also been the leader to take to to long to move into action an organizational development
Coach I might suspect to take Moses as having an inability to develop and Implement systems and structures as a leader which explains and it’s not wrong why he found himself taking on everyone and everything and perhaps feeling bog down by all responsibilities Mental Health Counselors would emphas Iz his emotional
Wellbeing and suggest that he was setting himself up for failure with too many case loads of others disputes and matters Social Work professionals like myself might label Moses’s plight as a case of eventual compassion fatigue this notion of when we get tired of caring too much for the job and the people that
It serves yet brothers and sisters as I read this story over and over the Holy Spirit revealed to me the Revelation and the Holy Spirit if you don’t get anything from this sermon the Holy Spirit revealed to me the Revelation that ego was the enemy everyone say ego ego was the
Enemy ego is always the enemy and and and jro urging Moses not to fall straight to it in his leadership repeat after me again ego is the enemy ego is the eny ego doesn’t always flare up and as boisterous as we think it might be it is an internal opponent W againsts by
Every great philosopher in every culture across the ages ego is also silent ego is also hidden in their thoughts and and beliefs hiding in the corridors of our souls hiding in the corridors of our hearts until something happens that triggers an outward response we are mostly nice about it but
But there are some of us who don’t believe we can find others to do the thing quite like we did has that been some of our mentality you might not think and label that as ego but I would argue this morning that that is a part of ego again it’s silent it’s h
And some of us have the belief that we can’t find others to do it quite like we can so what do we do y’all we resolve in our minds that the best thing for us to do is to do it ourselves your a lack of talent exists
Is really your ego being used to being comfortable with his own strength and there’s some of us that overuse our strengths and let our ego have the driver’s seat based on this deep seated fear that you may not have the chance to be as relevant as you are right
Now this mentality ensures your CLA and and grip remain even when you know you should be developing other people when you know you should be taking more time out developing young people developing teenagers but instead you are so concerned about still being relevant that you claw yourself you CL your grip
On that very title and you don’t move and you spend all the time worrying about yourself instead of giving other people the capacity they need to grow the Bible Bible the Bible tells us that after all of this feedback given that Moos listen everyone say listen everyone say listen after all the
Feedback that Moses received from jetho his father-in-law because Moses could have easily not honored he could have easily been the person to say bro I’ve been here this whole time doing what I’m doing who are you to come in and tell me how to run my business you know people
Like that yeah Moses could have been one of those persons but the Bible declares to us that Moses listened as Jetro instructed as it says in verse 24 and what I want to tell you this morning is that God is looking looking for leaders God is looking for leaders God is
Looking for leaders who will listen and those who will obey his instructions do I have about five people this morning who say I will be the one who listens to the Lord I will be the one who obeys his instructions in this season Hallelujah do I have any more witnesses this
Morning who say I will listen to the Lord and I will obey his instructions in this season and God stopped me by this morning to tell you that your success is going to come from your ability to investigating what’s on the inside remaining in a state of Investigation
Keeps you open for the Holy Spirit to convict you and it keeps you open for the Holy Spirit to make make you flexible and move as Moses does in this text you want to be that leader that when God send you your help that you are flexible enough and sensitive enough to
Move what you heard is for your good hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah I want it the Lord has led me in another Direction This sermon this sharing could have been one that could have hooped us till the cows came home because I am train on hology I know I who maybe not with the
Best of but I can do what I can do and the Holy Ghost this morning is leading me to bring all of our leaders that be okay to the altar you are a leader in some capacity come to the altar whatever organizations you might serve in what other organizations you
Represent if you are a person who desires to be a leader if you are a person who desires to hold a post come to the altar at this time hallelujah hallelujah when I want to declare to us brothers and sisters the Lord is impressing upon us as he said in Zechariah 4
And6 not by might Hallelujah not by power Hallelujah but by my spirit says the Lord of Hope Hallelujah God is calling every leader in this season to move with the Holy Ghost like you never moved before God is calling every S one of us even those who
Have assembled to the altar those of us who are sitting down in the pews God is calling you more than ever before particularly in the times and the season of such un of such of such disdain and dis disarray and Chaos God is calling us more than ever before to move in the
Unknowns God is calling us more than ever before to use less of our intellect God says I don’t care about what it is that you know I don’t care about what it is that you learned in graduate school I don’t care about the conceptual diagram that you learned in your PhD program God
Says I want you to be able that at a drop of a dime you can move by my spirit the Lord hallelujah hallelujah and God says I will give you the answers God says I will guide you I will direct you I will be your path maker don’t worry about
What it is that you have to know don’t worry about what it is that you have to say say the Lord I will be your God hallelujah lifting up those hands all over the building father we just thank you so much right now for this day
Father we thank you right now for the that is just gone forth we thank you right now Lord God for those of your man Ser your woman servants who have come down to this altar even those Lord God who are are in the pews father we thank
You right now Lord God and we just lift our hands up Lord God as a sign of serror Father we know that this is the exact type of behavior Lord God this is the exact type of posture that desire for us right now Lord God not just in
This season but in every season and so father we come against and we lift away the burdens Lord God the burdens Lord God and the weight as the says so easily possets us as we saw in the scripture from Moses father we understand Lord God the historical and the current and the
Physical exhaustion that we particularly as people of color feel on an everyday basis father we understand the cares of the world that burden us down as we think about our sons and our daughters and whether they will come safely father we understand the cares of the world
That you know we feel Lord God about the state of education Lord God and whether our children have teachers who believe in their capabilities in their dreams in their aspirations father we understand Lord God that when we come to you and we cry and we will lament Lord God that our
Cares and our weights that we carry legitimate father father you are also the God and help us right now in this moment understand that you are the God who understands our tears you are the god that says in Psalms 56 And1 that you put our tears in a bottle and you record
Them in your book you are the god that knows every number of hairs on our ha you are God that knows when we go astray that even 99 sheep can be doing what they are supposed to do Lord but you are compassionate enough you are sincere
Enough Lord God to chase us down and bring us back into the fold so you are the high priest you are a high priest who understands our emotions Lord God as what we are feeling on a regular basis and father we come to you asking you for
Your strength in the name of Jesus father we have released strength to the people of God right now in the moment of Jesus Lord God release strength Lord God to the people at Community Baptist father I really strength right now to our leaders Lord God to our lay M God to

Lord God when we move by your spirit you lessen the chances Lord God of us making mistakes Lord God and we come to you Lord God asking you that as you are giv us the guidance that we are going to move by your spirit father God when you
Say go left we’re going to go left when you say go right going go right in the name of Jesus because you desire you desire father God for us to get it you desire Lord God for us to see that vision and the purpose and the plan that
You have for our lives in the name of Jesus and father lastly in this prayer we’re asking you Lord God to bring us a jeffro lord God bring us people Lord God that when we have lost our way that people can come and tell us Lord God
That what we are doing is not good that the weights Lord God that we put on ourselves will wear ourselves out father we thank you right now for Spiritual companionship Lord God we thank you Lord God that you are increasing our capacity for spiritual leaders Lord God
Friendships Lord God that will hold us accountable that will give us capacity Lord God to do and to be the very persons that you have called us to be and father we thank you Lord God and we seal this prayer Lord God and we shout hallelujah we shout
Hallelujah and we thank you Lord God for doing it that if that is your prayer those hands clap those hands and shout it is so and so it is hallelujah hallelujah remain standing all across the sanctuary as we stand the doors of the church are open today right there
Un who says this is to much from as scripture teaches us we have not an high priest who cannot be touched with our infirmities which means that we serve a Christ who not only knows us but who knows all about everything that we go through and he went everything he went through
Everything that we go through and through the precious shed blood of his on the cross of Calvary he has made a way for us to overcome it all and to gain the victory for it so perhaps there is someone here today without Christ we invite you to come today
That’s the first invitation the second invitation is this to come join this family of Faith this body of TI Believers life is too much to go by yourself and Christ has provided his body that is his church to be that place where we can work together in cooperation with one another through the
Holy Spirit to fulfill all that Christ has planned for us and to gain the victory as one body in him so again two invitations are extended today one for Christ two for his church won’t you come today all right now today today just Come oh come on come on come on is there one today Hallelujah all right Now just come come on come on come On come to Jesus right now today right now Today right now Today amen we have done what the Lord has required of us and yet there is still room won’t you clap your hands and give your great God a great praise in this house today as you’re giving God praise for God give God praise for God’s preacher this day encourage his heart

Lives and what a beautiful opportunity and privilege we have even now to Worship the Lord through ouros we’re a tithing church here which means we believe that the first 10% of our income is Holy and Sanctified unto the Lord and above that we believe in giving the
