What is the call in how to get feed calm and before I get into that I do want to give a some background history to my newbies here I am a part of the illustrious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated I was initiated into the organization in fall 2016 so it’s been
Almost four years of me being in the game it’s licha so let’s get into this story okay so in 2016 before that happened there has not been any AKA lines at my school for two years so it was a two-year gap before they had rush again so we were
Email it was an email blast that was sent out to every female on campus saying that Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated is having a formal rush well former rush at my particular school is that where you learn more about the organization as a whole and we also
Turned in our applications to be sent off to Nationals as well we did the interview at former Rush and we did some icebreakers as well to get to know the current members and to get to know our potential line sisters that was my rush other people rushes can be different
Different processes or whatever so once you tend to rush then it’s a waiting period hour waiting period was about a month – yeah I’m sorry but yeah hour waiting period was about a month to a month and a half basically dead silence it’s the most anxiety feeling stressful you
Pulling your hair biting your nails type of feeling just because it’s the unknown what your stuff gets on top – Nationals Nationals will look at your application and will be like okay yeah that good can they meet all the requirements or huh no you know and then they will let the
Chakra know of the applications they approve them my story is a little bit different because cha they get so happy with me they get to– so i knew a couple of girls that now are my life sisters before hand we were just you know associates friends i want to say like
Best friends we were friends cuz you know we were talking we were trying to be in the same organization now we’re like really close friends and isis is apparently but so we had a little group message and we were texting each others like have you heard anything buzz a buzz
A was just everybody just like no we haven’t heard anything and then next thing you know boom it happened it well before that happened the rejection letters went out first yes they sought rejection letters out like actually letters sent to your house so those went
Out first and I know a couple of people that got rejected and they asked things like did you get one and me I was just like I haven’t heard anything back from it I haven’t checked the mail in a while universe so I didn’t get it I didn’t get
A rejection letter at the moment when everybody else was getting they were getting their rejection letters – for it I get a call no no a lot a lot fast forward my other friends then got the call and I’m just lying looking confused because I didn’t get a
Rejection letter but I didn’t get the call either so like after they got the call a day later I got a call and it was from like my heart drop it was from the graduate advisor I was just like oh my gosh aw I didn’t get accept it you know
But instead she just like hey my it’s so-and-so I’m just here to talk about your application I’m just like what is wrong and come to find out I missed a signature I forgot to sign one page and I thought I looked at my application a million times because you want it to be
Right you want it to be perfect because one mistake can cost you not getting into the organization especially if the current members of the chapter don’t mess with you if they don’t like you that’s getting trashed like if the current members of the chapter when I
Was trying to get um get into if they didn’t like me my application would have been out the door just because I missed that one signature but apparently they liked me enough so the graduate Eliezer told me to fix it come meet her somewhere to fix it so she can send it
Back out to Nationals it was fixed and then two days later I got the call and basically what the call is letting you know that you have been accepted into the organization and now you can participate in MIP which is the membership intake process it’s the national process
That’ll go off for about two weeks hours lasted about two weeks that’s where you learn information about the organization you meet your my sisters all that type of stuff buzz a buzz a young you want the call that’s point blank period you want to reject your letter you don’t
Want anything else you want the call so in my experience and what I know is that members current members of that chapter I already know if they want to accept you or not like that’s that’s a given that’s point blank period like I don’t know what else to say that they know who
They want beforehand and you can be the best candidate and if they don’t want you oh well it sucks you’re not gonna get the call and I know it’s sad to say it but that’s life I was luckily enough to get the call out of over a hundred
Girls me and 26 other women had the privilege to participate in the membership intake process and I am beyond thankful to this day because that’s what I always wanted to be in Alpha Kappa Alpha woman and alpha woman I just gave y’all the deeds of what the
Call is basically is the you’ve been accepted into the organization you’ve been approved by nationally you’ve been selected by the current chapter members now you just have to attend this take the test and you’re good now y’all are probably wondering how do you get the call so I’m just this is not gonna
Guarantee your acceptance into that organization you should just give you a pathway that you can take to better your chances of getting accepted into the organization so number one attend all events all of them if you can’t attend all of them attend majority of them number two be active on campus and what
I mean be active not just be a member of like an organization hold a leader position such as the president of the organization vice president secretary something that holds weight number three be highly involved in your community do community service that just stands out and don’t just do this stuff to try the
Innocent organization because when we were looking at our Neos and trying to see which one’s best fit that we were just making sure like they wasn’t just doing it just for a clown they wasn’t doing it just for a show they actually wanted to be a part of this organization
Who was going to continue to put the work in that we worked our ass off to for our chapter so you’re gonna have to stand out and if the girls see that you’re genuine and that you’re like you’re not just trying to be like oh yeah I mean aka you know then you’ll
Have a better chance number four have great grades they’re better your GPA is the height the better chance that you’re going to be selected like nobody wants someone with a 2.0 GPA or meet that minimum GPA you want to excel because that’s what your organization stands behind academic excellence and number
Five which is the last one be yourself be yourself be comfortable in your skin no one likes a suck suck up I was about to cut y’all know unlike people that suck it up because everybody knows that you just want to be a part of the organization so
You’re gonna be super duper nice and all that we don’t like that honestly it’s overrated just be yourself and that’s all the gyms that I got for y’all and that’s the last information on what is the car and how to get the call because you want the call because it get it lets
