Reparation for like making up for the kiss of Judas you know uh Belinda Mooney good morning to you thanks for your time hi Joe good morning let’s talk about the this devotion the act of making a reparation uh to for all the sins committed against our Lord tell me about

This why why is it on Trove Tuesday that’s one of my questions and what’s the background okay so in the 1200 St gertude got two works of reparation the work of reparation through Devotion to the Sacred Heart and then also the work of re reparation through Devotion to the

Holy face and shove Tuesday being the Feast of the carnival she was asked by Jesus to make reparation for the sins of the carnival and all these years later then Margaret Mary uh sister St Margaret Mary got the full uh work of reparation through Devotion to the s sa heart and

Sometime after that sister Marie Pierre got the work of reparation through Devotion to the holy face so it all goes back to S God’s wish uh especially with the Holy face to make uh reparation for the sins of people who basically are spitting in his face slapping it uh

Causing him pain and um rejecting him especially in the first three commandments so so just like the Sacred Heart Makes reparation for sins of indifference and coldness of Catholics toward the lord in the Eucharist in the Blessed Sacrament the work of reparation through Devotion to the holy face makes

Reparation for the the sins against the first three Commandments and what this is is we’re trying to ask God for Grace upon Sinners who are taking Idols or blaspheming blaspheming His holy name or um profaning the Sabbath so for us Christians that’s uh profaning the holy

Day of Sunday so um and then if if you want I can real quickly tie it into the third web work of reparation which is Devotion to the Immaculate Heart which is Mother Mary uh all the things that people do the there’s especially five blasphemies but they’re they’re just things about uh

People integrating uh her and her virginity her mulate conception Etc so all these three works of reparation or primarily to ask the Lord for Grace upon Sinners make reparation to him for the things that are being done against him or in mother’s case mother Mary and then

Ask for Grace upon those Sinners to be converted so in the case of the Holy face uh the sins of the Carnival which now we call MRA were were there in the day of St Gertrude and she uh was asked to make reparation and so now what we’re doing uh he told

Sister Marie Pierre that this work is especially for the conversion of atheistic communism so all the ideologies that are being spread through the world today they can pretty much go back to the Revolutions of the past and especially the the communist Revolt so if if these if this work had been done

Then perhaps it wouldn’t have had all that happened and we certainly wouldn’t have the dissemination of the ideologies in the world today it would be it would be so different but even mother came to Fatima to to tell the children again because the work had been suppressed after the

Initial uh printing of all the the work and the promises that were given to sistant Mar Pierre then the work was unfortunately um I don’t know that word that I’m looking for I’m sorry it’s early in the morning I’m not used to getting up this

Trust me I know all about it it’s fine yeah but U it’s it’s like the the bishop shut it down for a while but Leo japon who was uh this is a whole story and I’m putting it in a book that I’m writing called the three works of reparation

Helped get it out so he did the the first three printings then the bishop suppressed the work but as a lay person he could continue to do a a private devotion in his home oh my gosh Miracles happened in his home I actually got to

Go there and um over time uh Pope Pas the the nth he was the greatest Miracle Worker of modern times so anyway uh fast forward through the Communist Revolution and everything and here it is Mother Maria Pina de McKelly is getting all these um she’s now blessed y’all U but

She was getting all these other Revelations because the Feast of the Holy face hadn’t gotten done yet the um I always want to touch my scapular because I wear the holy Face Metal but she was able to get those two things done so now we actually have a feast day

Although most priests don’t know it’s here and they don’t have the propers um I do if anybody needs them but it’s like uh I’ve been of reparation for 28 years and I guess what I want to say is when you’re doing these works of reparation you become devoted but the primary aim

Wasn’t that you started out to make yourself holy you will be holy you will feel peace you will become devoted to the Sacred Heart Immaculate Heart the holy face but the primary aim is to help God uh help Jesus make reparation for the sins that people are doing against

Him and mother and then bring down Grace upon them so that’s what I wanted to make an important point of and all you have to do if you want to practice the work of reparation is is a very simple prayer it just says oh Lord show us thy face and

We shall be saved and in our father Hail Mary and glory be that’s what if you join the arch conf fraternity of the Holy face that’s what we do every day that simple prayer and then there’s another prayer that sister Marie Pierre got called the Golden Arrow and it’s

Kind of long I may have time in a minute to do it but basically it’s um May the most holy most most adorable most incomprehensible and ineffable name of God be forever praised blessed loved adored and glorified in heaven on Earth and under the Earth all the creatures of

God and by the most Sacred Heart of our Lord Jesus Christ in the most holy sacrament of the altar amen that little prayer does so much good to combat the sins against the first three Commandments and if you hear somebody taking the lord’s name in vain she said

That Jesus told her to pray very quickly admirable is the holy name of God and sometimes when I think about it I just started saying it over and over admirable is the holy name of God and I’ll tell you when I’ve done the packets of the Holy face um prayer cards and the

I had written a couple of articles that I’ve now expanded into the fourth chapter of the book The Three works of reparation and when I say these prayers I am just filled with peace I know that I’m doing the will of God I know that I’m doing a work of reparation in Union

With Jesus it’s uh it’s not pretty it’s not describable but one of the stories I’d like to tell you real quick is that when I was uh doing the work in um you know in a lot in a full force if you would before I started writing full time

And and having to work I was able to um fold 11,000 prayer cards to give to the prisoners in Houston area in the through the arch diis my children help me too but um the person that I had given the cards to to pass out she said Belinda it is

Like miraculous the prisoners I will come down the hall and these other chose from but they’re just they’re for picture so I was thinking to myself God has a a big sense of humor in how I can’t hard to get this into churches sometimes but the prisoners are praying

Something more special than a regular devotion okay so uh devotions are I think this is my own terms I’m not a theologian or anything like that but the way I understand devotions is that they are primarily designed to help us to grow closer to God they are personal

Ways of finding whether it’s the Divine Mercy Chaplet or the rosary or the whatever their prayers they are prayers and they are and they are designed to help our spiritual life and help us to come closer to God and the way I I talk about the works of reparation are that

Reparation is the primary thing that Jesus did came here to do this is what he did he repaired the sin that kept us from God and he stood in the bridge and he and he then made it he healed that uh Brokenness and and he repaired that so

That we could then have access to our father so when we’re doing the and so we were converted we were healed we were given another chance and that’s kind of what we’re doing in the works of reparation we’re pro we are participating in his PR AR work with the

Father of making reparation for the people who are like I said uh sinning against uh indifference and coldness in the Blessed Sacrament especially Catholics okay that’s the Sacred Heart then um blaspheming taking Idol well taking Idols blasphemy and profanation of the Sunday that’s the holy face and

Then all the sins against mother that’s the immaculate hor so that’s the difference that I see and yeah the beautiful thing is you do become devoted when you’re doing works of reparation but the primary aim is to help God convert Sinners amen and um make reparation for the kiss of Judas as well

Volume number one Anthony De brosio good morning to you thank you for your time today thank you so much for having me I’m super pumped to be here I’m a I’m a uh I’m a big fan of of St maximan K I mean I have a strong Devotion to him I

Absolutely try to devour whatever I find on him and when it comes to uh to especially to films I I’m really going to be keen on that so when I saw yours I got really really excited I like to for you to tell me about your project but

Right of the gate the one thing that caught my attention was you went and filmed it and then you came back and asked for money I love that so tell me about your project that is so fun yeah um yeah so we’ve got a um we’ve got a movie cooking

Um it’s it’s cooking it’s not done we we went and shot it um it’s in uh post production right now so we went to Poland uh to Colby’s H toown and um we really went out there in faith knowing that uh we had a and a call from God to

To tell his story uh and didn’t really know exactly how how it all come about but um God provided God brought us amazing people and um amazing uh opportunities locations beautiful costumes and um we we were really setting out to try to tell Colby’s story

In a way that um nobody had seen before that nobody had heard of before that really went into kind of the untold story The Untold and unseen and and perhaps misunderstood parts of his life um and particularly the uh The Passion of Colby so uh that’s that’s really um

The mission and um we’re really excited to be able to start sharing that project with people and building a community of of a militia a new Coles militia in order to bring that story to fruition I have a a friend an old friend here in the Houston Texas area whose dad

Stood three rows behind maximilan K in the day he was selected uh the day he volunteered to uh to suffer on behalf of gyobn and uh and I used to I used to talk in fact I talked to him a couple months ago again and it’s just an

Amazing thing to to comprehend on The Bravery the Courage the conviction of this man St maximan col but one of the things I got from your trailer was you’re trying to look at this maybe from a slightly different angle than than the the standard the way the the story is told

Standard what who are the other people in the cell with him I heard you say that in this video on your Kickstarter campaign tell me about that aspect yeah so I think that many of us know the story of Colby from the perspective of Francis gek the man he

Saved and um I think that that perspective is a really valid way to talk about Colby’s story but um I think that what is more interesting at least to me is what did God do for those men who didn’t get saved in the more traditional sense of the word um I would

Say that you know 90% of us don’t get those sorts of Miracles and and interventions that um that gy neek got um 90% of us actually get a an answer of no I’m going going to leave this suffering in your life um this tragedy in your life and and somehow I’m going

To transform that into Beauty and how how does God do that uh I think that Colby is an answer to our grief and our suffering in the same way that Christ was an answer to that um and so for these nine other men who he joined um he was saving their

Souls too just in a different way uh we know that they were found singing that um the songs that they sang were heard by other inmates that picked up the song that um the songs that they were singing were picked up by uh people outside of

The cell who heard them and who uh were encouraged and who sort of had their Humanity returned to them because of their witness um what kby was able to accomplish in terms of bringing these men who had lost all Humanity in this uh in the darkest part of this Camp

Into uh fighting to make their last days count uh to forge a Brotherhood of Hope with each other and to be a witness to the other people in aitz of Faith and Hope um that he was able to accomplish that I think is a is a miracle and is a

Miracle that I am incredibly interested in uh investigating and bringing to the screen yeah it looks very fascinating to me tell me about your cast uh who is who’s playing St maximan K in this film yeah um so our cast is a combination of poles and English and

Serbs and ukrainians uh and Americans it’s really kind of an amazing I guess example and witness to the the global Church coming together uh Colby is his uh I guess his devotion is spread so far and wide that people from all over the world really wanted to be

Considered for different roles so um our our kby is actually a man who I met in Poland who was a an actor a very well-known actor in the in the Polish world and who ultimately had a had a struggle with alcoholism that led him into the church

Uh or led him back to the church and through his struggle with addiction was really adopted in many ways by St maximilan Colby and he had just done a couple of different plays uh about M maximilan Colby and when we met um I immediately sensed in him just from the

The very first meeting I sensed a presence in him that was uh a familiar presence it was like this he knows the man that I know that I have been considering and meditating and researching and and trying to understand more deeply he also o knows that person

And has been formed by that person um and so he a celebrity in Poland so it was a really big stretch to bring him on board but uh because of his love for kby he decided to to do it um all of the them had to lose weights and to shave

Their heads uh really difficult things to ask actors to do uh but they were really moved by the story and wanted to accurately represent it so um they all went on starvation diets and um I’ll tell you we uh there is something really powerful about the Brotherhood that’s built by uh

Literally starving together uh we all uh I joined them for a while as well but we all went on uh like 900 calorie a day diets um to emulate what they were living on and uh it was an incredible deprivation and really separated us from

Kind of the rest of the people around um around us but uh it really forged a certain amount of connection and connectivity to each other and um yeah I think that that’s part of what this movie is about is what God can do in terms of bringing love about um when

People Embrace their crosses together I’ve often talked about the deputy based comment on Carl Fritz and his role in all of this and I’ve encourage every time I’ve talked about the story I’ve encourage my my audience to go and Google him Google it and look into his

Eyes because you can see the evil in this Man’s eyes who is the actor who played Carl Fritz who who played the bad guy and and what was that like for them to have to uh to get into the mind of a uh like a very demented person yeah it’s it’s a really

Interesting question actually because um is the sweetest guy um he was actually one of the first actors that we found and who came to us um a well-known kind of accomplished actor in in England um I saw from the first moment I saw him I

Knew that he was our FR he looks like I I could pull up the the picture of FR and put them side by side and you might have trouble figuring out which one was which wow uh no joke and um he but he was he was a really uh good friend he

Was perhaps like one of the the most passionate supporters of the project um and it was difficult for him because he got to see this amazing Brotherhood that was developing in the actors who were playing these um the 10 men with Colby and uh he had this really profound

Insight as a part of it that um that I felt like really informed his character which was that he wanted um connection and what he was seeing was in these other men almost like a cause of Envy for him as much as it was a cause of of

Hatred uh because in some way they were a sign of a stumbling block in a way for for his whole the world and um hold that thought right there for me Anthony De brosio is our guest we’re up against a hard break here for our radio network so

Cross.com you know I uh Anthony welcome back I was just watching an interview with um Neil MCD Catholic Hollywood actor and he he’s been typ cast as the bad guy like he’s always play he always plays bad guys and he was saying you know uh he in his experience the bad guy

Actors tend to be all nice guys they they’re really nice guys but they always play bad guys and I think you were kind of saying the same thing right before the break isn’t that the case that’s the case yes yeah so what I find fascinating about that is it’s got

To be hard for an actor I I I feel like it’s got to be hard for an actor to to really I mean Neil McDon played Satan for crying out loud like he and he said he didn’t want to do it in the beginning like especially as a Catholic you don’t

Want to uh you don’t want to like emulate evil Carl Fritz was evil I mean he really was an evil man if I’m not mistaken if I if I remember correctly it he even helped to bring about the whole gas aspect of of of eliminating the Jews

In the camps because before that they were shooting them and they didn’t want to waste any more bullets they needed that for the war so it was Carl Fritz who helped to come up with the the gas to murder these people isn’t that the case I mean that’s pretty

Evil right yeah there’s there’s such an intense almost demonic um not almost like very clearly demonic evil that this man um sort of brought to the camp uh I could go into many heinous things beyond the the gas one one thing that he did uh that was pretty he was pretty

Famous for was um during Christmas at the beginning of the camp when kby was there at the beginning of the camp that was not really that underway this was a terror camp that was being used to destroy and eliminate the Polish Cultural identity and Leadership and so

Colby was a part of that um and so uh FR he he did not just want to kill people his he saw himself as the person who’s here to sort of reveal to the polls the truth about themselves um he’s going to help to break their back uh wow

Spiritually so that uh they can be enslaved by the the new wave of immigration of German immigrants who are coming to sort of colonized Poland and uh so one of the things that he did was during Christmas he would bring out a large Christmas tree uh in front of the

The Prisoner bunkers and put the bodies of the Dead underneath it and to play a silent night uh so that um in this sort of demonic mockery of Christmas for them um and so I think that part of what is so significant about what kby did was he

Was standing for Humanity uh more than just saving the man’s life uh saving Francis gk’s life he was showing these people who were under such incredible trauma um who whose very Humanity was being broken down and attacked he was showing them that there was still goodness in the world um and when you’re

Living in such a place of Blackness and darkness even just a a small Act of Charity um not to mention the kind of Courage that that kby shown it it was restorative and healing and reminded them that there might be something else out there that God might be with them

Still Etc um something else out there beyond all this Darkness wow what a story so where is this in production then you you principal photographies I guess in the can you’re in the editing Suite now so when do you anticipate uh completing your your edit and uh you

Know sound design all of that stuff yeah so we are in the process right now of raising funds for our post- production um I think one of the things that that people perhaps don’t necessarily understand is just how expensive it is to make a movie every

Single piece of art every every role as an uh every role that that you could possibly think of in the economy is involved in making a movie you need lawyers you need uh sound designers you need uh Design interior designers to design rooms and sets so right now we’re

In uh what you call post- production and in that phase you go from uh however many terabytes and hours of footage that you have we have 20 terabytes of footage and 40 hours of of uh of footage and of sound uh bringing all of that together

Into a one and a half hour story that then is has sound design added to it that has visual effects added to it that has um a a score composed music composed and um that all coming together is what actually makes the movie uh it’s actually perhaps the longest most timec

Consuming and difficult part of the process um and right now we we knew that we didn’t have enough funds to do post- production we actually spent all the money that we had um raised on our production so uh we’re right now in the process of running this Kickstarter to

Bring other people uh from the Grassroots Catholic Community who want to see this story made um on board perhaps as partners as producers to help us make uh the film happen yeah yeah I I would encourage people to check it out we’re going to put a link to the

Kickstarter campaign in the show notes today at the stof theeccentricm crowns there’s a um there is actually the scene in the film where um he is given the two crowns by by uh Mary and we actually used Our Lady of chest toova which is sort of like the

Polish um Our Lady of Guadalupe uh as the uh as the the person of devotion who gives him the crowns um and so there’s a really beautiful but very surreal and um and almost like a little bit scary kind of mystical Vision dream sequence where

We return to that in his life while um while we’re in the cell so EX look forward to seeing that scene yeah praise be to God uh so let’s talk about distribution I think a lot of uh Catholics who make or creative types I I’ve produced two featurelength films uh

Documentary films oh wow distribution tends to be one of the biggest uh obstacles in the whole process you can get on Prime but then nobody ever watches it so what is your plan for distrib yeah so this is a a really good question I think it’s perhaps the biggest

Challenge for people who are making Catholic uh making art for the Catholic world or or even art that is Catholic but is for the world like would be more of how we would look at our film I think that um what we’ve seen in the last three years with Angel Studios um

Putting out the Chosen and sound of freedom and now mother krini we’re really seeing that uh they’re open to putting forward Catholic content and not just that they are but because they’re proving that there’s a market that uh actually desires it um because with with film uh Distributing film is a massive

Risk if you’re talking about a theatrical release perhaps I I’ve heard many different averages but we’re talking maybe $15 million to do a theatrical release for for a film on average so we are going to um we’re going to these different places now with the kickstarter data saying hey we have a

National Park and we’re going to hike a mountain for three days you have to carry 100% of your water needs one gallon per person per per day we’re on the we’re on the mountain for 3 Days 8 lbs per gallon just in water not food or anything

Else just in water so uh I was up late wrapping my head around how I’m going to do all that somehow I don’t remember in the Marine cor we hike we would hike for 20 miles like whatever like I don’t remember carrying 20 30 pounds of water

I don’t like like what did we not drink like well I don’t remember now like goly d w we must never had I just had a canteen that was it that’s all I remember the canteen uh I’m sure the core made sure that there was water stations along the

Way somehow some way yeah Big Ben National Park there uh T storm which by the way has some of the best light viewing on planet Earth and I am so excited about that we’re going to be uh in fact our priest uh fssp is going to

Be saying Mass on the south rim so High Above So 7,000 ft up we’re going to have a m overlooking the rim we’re going to be looking at in Mexico it’s going to be beautiful Kevin says I’m sure the stars at night are big and bright yes sir I
