SORORITY VLOG | ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA 88th CENTRAL REGIONAL CONFERENCE

Hey vlog so we’re starting off early it’s actually wednesday and we’re trying to pre-register um because there’s about to be a lot of people here at this conference it’s the first in-person conference since 2019 so yeah everybody’s excited and it’s down here so we’re trying to get here early

To register me and my mom and my sister is also here too um so yeah we’re on the way to the hyatts it’s down the street we just parked down the street because there’s so many people here and we’re gonna see if we can register apparently it’s a whole

Bunch of people in line but we finna see what we can do Okay so apparently we have to do kobe testing before and this is what is given Okay thank you thank you Oh oh you keep the form oh okay Negative so now i need to go register so that’s gonna be another debacle History Is Oh yeah Okay y’all real quick before i get ready for bed i’ll show you what i got from the vendors so i think they actually gave me the wrong source bag because i actually only bought one of these but some aka k94k n95 and it’s pink and green

But i only bought two but they i mean one but they gave me two so i think they gave me the wrong person’s day um this this cup came with the um conversation um also from the vendors i got two charms for my bracelet that i need to put on there

This one which is super cute okay and then this thing the ak stained glass window which is super cute oh it might be hearts oh yeah and i got my nails picking green for the conference obviously okay let’s put those back up in there then

She was so nice it was so nice she put it in this like ak shoe bag for me as a little bag and then i got it uh is it a little bag what’s this score we’re gonna take that off that’s not giving but yeah that’s not it um oh and then

This is just for my books i got a bookmark what hold on hedgeman oh this is with the old spelling hedgeman it’s not spelled like that according to the new spell they don’t matter y’all don’t matter it does you don’t care but yeah bookmark and then i

Got you know somebody stole my keys so i got me a new keychain you know because you know we’d be making battles so that but i want to get the keychain i actually want um oh i got jibbet it’s just my number oh maybe i didn’t get anything else but

This is the stuff that came in the conference big shoe bag a central region mask let’s see what that’s getting oh it’s like seal shelf real quick real oh that’s kind of cute central region mask um i have to remember to put that on i’ll put on one of these masks like i

Said the cup and then my badge holder it just has a crust on the back my bad shoulder the program pamphlet thing anything else no oh wait no and then a little makeup bag and then this is the conference bag this year i kind of lowkey don’t like it’s kind of

Ugly but you know it is what it is i’m gonna snap it together it’s black has the crest on the front and then it has it’s probably the best part of the bag is straps that are pink and green um and then i guess there’s a strap in here

Because it’s got these little hooks on it but yeah it’s kind of heinous i kind of low-key don’t like it oh she was like actually pink but yeah so that’s pretty much it we just want to get registered because it’s about to be crazy for the next few

Days so i won’t be back until friday um for the actual concert conference so i’ll see y’all then ciao okay so nobody outside the nordstrom rack because my mom took her all the way to the cleaners for the first plenary session and they told her that her jacket wasn’t

Finished so she got a jacket so we’re in nordstrom rack buying her a new jacket okay so we’re back at the vendors because you know all aj’s do is shop and spend money so we back my mama looking at this jacket did it fit did it fit

I mean did it fit or medium okay Is Okay y’all real quick um i just got back from the vendors again and i just wanna show y’all what i got so this is all before the conference even started so whoo so i got this you can kind of see what it is is it’s an ivy and it comes with a base

And it lights up different colors so it makes this light up and it’s super cute i actually got that for free because one of the vendors um i got a crush on my mother so he always be just giving us stuff so i got that for free then i got okay i got

You see the crest thing through the plastic right here so it’s like a straw and you like throw it over and it’s green and it’s cute and i’m gonna wear this probably probably maybe tomorrow on my pink dress to add some popping some fanciness to some coat

Okay then i got some more charms because after i put them charms on my bracelet um last night it was giving a key so nothing crazy i got just this little pearl looking one got this pink one oh my profile just texted me she told me

To come find her i hope she don’t beat me up it’s fine i’m at home now so i can’t do anything about it um then this green one just adds to my bracelet and then there’s another free thing i got from that man um it’s this pink aka

Flip keychain so that it allows you to like put your different keys on here you could flip like this this this portion and like easily take off your keys so like when you go to the car dealership or tow your car like me you don’t give them your house keys

Because my mom was like oh yeah she got a headache so that was free and then i got this free paper clip giant paper clip thing came with it and i’m rushing places josh is going to come get me something go to plushack i got this thing

For my um like this badge holder clip thing for my idea work even i already have a pink one i have an aka one yeah okay so there’s that and then i got this ivy bag so cute it’s so cute i don’t know if that’s pretty before i don’t know it out but

Look even little even this is ivy and the crest is in the back and then has like a fingering strap see this is what i wanted the um conference back to be giving but it wasn’t i might wear that tonight to go out i’m gonna leave it right here and then

I got oh and this i got this for free but this is just a cap of charm that we just fitted throw in our trinkets for our or for my stepdad for father’s day and yeah that’s pretty much all i got nothing crazy i will see you guys

Tomorrow for the first plenary session and yeah bye Okay on the way to the first plenary session i got my second plenary outfit my bag my change of clothes and yeah it looks like it’s gonna rain the weather is not giving today but yeah that’s what we’re doing [Applause] Okay vlog so we out here first plenty of research is over um i changed so i have on like my pink dress that i wore to that joy foundation i have on my green shawl and my pearls and i’m outside because it’s time for lunch and yeah so um it’s raining

Which is why the quality is all terrible and not giving but i’m gonna go on michigan avenue and try to find something to eat before the next plenary session because they be long and i’ll be home so Y’all already know what they have to do for alpha alpha So i’ve decided to be basic and get sick for life Is Okay so it’s time for the second plenary i’ve changed something pink and green and yeah that’s going That’s over with thank god that was so long okay so i just changed and guess where i’m at to go shopping okay so like i said huh i can go okay we’re about to go to the public meeting real quick okay all right [Applause] And we are blessed to have the opportunity to impact the lives of other persons in a positive way they call my language slang they see my confidence as conceit they see my mistakes as defeat they consider my success accidental they minimize my intelligence to potential my questions mean i’m unaware

My advancement is somehow unfair any praise is preferential treatment to voice concern is discontented if i stand up for myself i’m too defensive if i don’t trust them i’m too apprehensive [Applause] it literally feels so good to be a part of something that’s so good for the community and for everybody

And i don’t know i’m not saying that just because she just get a girl scholarship but just like it’s the goodness for me it’s the positive energy the positive vibes the great intent for me my brothers are all messed up but yeah that’s all i gotta say

Whatever and then go to bed so i don’t think we got home till like two so you’re tired um so there’s that so we overslept and it’s the first um workshop i don’t know if i should go to the second workshop because i don’t have anything to do i

Didn’t like i’m not doing any of the luncheons or anything so i don’t know if i should go to the workshop just so that i can say i did one it’s rituals i think which i love doing rituals so um maybe i’ll do that i don’t know

I should do it but my mom was like we should we’re gonna try to sneak in the back of the legacy parade because we did not sign up to do that but then i would have to make those t-shirts or something so we could match but i haven’t made no t-shirts so like

What should i do you know um i’m gonna check and see if we have some t-shirts in our size and if we maybe i’ll go because i need to hurry up and get dressed because like it’s finished start literally like what time is it oh it’s 9 45 and it

Starts at 10 30. i may already have my outfit picked out but let me check the agenda real quick i might not make it it starts at 10 30 to 11 45 i might be able to sneak up in there i just need to check and see

If you have any t-shirts because if you have any t-shirts i’ll just uber down there because my mom wouldn’t want to go over down there and then uber home make the t-shirts and then we’ll go back does that sound like flame that sounds like a plan let me try to do that see

Y’all in a bit i am anyways okay y’all so i just threw something together real quick i have my crush jacket just threw my hair up in a puff it’s not the best but whatever um this pro headband because my edges was not giving um having this white shirt

Let’s go down i have on pink pants okay okay i wanted to wear my bright pink pants which is what i would normally wear with this jacket but like i didn’t oh this is cookie i did it because it’s kind of cold outside so i

Was like these ones are warmer um i just threw on my iv earrings and pearls my little this bracelet that’s not the bracelet that i put my charms on i went over yesterday so i was trying to pick it up and then i put all four of my pearl

Bracelets with charms got my four charm my christ charm my legacy charm and then my mama got me this bracelet yesterday it says legacy it’s kind of give me giving me dyslexia to look at it but yeah it’s a legacy so just trust me on

That and so yeah i’m gonna put on either my line jacket or my legacy jacket since i’m taking the uber why is this cricket since i’m taking uber so i want to carry no pillow jacket around and then my uber family here in three minutes um i got this my bag and

Yeah so i’m gonna go to the conference uh be back home oh my god where’s this crooked okay sorry i’m gonna go to the conference come back home and yeah we’ll chat from there Y’all already know where i’m goin Just sit this is it okay i’m just checking it out real quick because this this shirt that i found and this sound it looks so cute when i saw it on somebody else so i’m gonna just see if she got it in my face Okay we’re gonna do another update of what i got the vendors real quick so i got this new york aka charm because you know i was initiated in new york this you see that this 2017 charm i got this pink one these two sparkly ones and then this floor one and

That beaded one just because my bracelet before this conference started had these beads on it and which i liked the little naked look i was like okay simple is cute but now i’m like the bracelet is bald so now i want it to be completely filled but i’m not gonna

Finish filming this one at this conference because i might find some other stuff that i like in the future so i think i’m satisfied with this right now okay that’s that i’m putting in a little bag for the swords out there that are watching my video gracia pearl that’s where it came from

Okay then i also got this sweater from the fashion the fashionable greek this is like the pattern but it also has oh i can just take it out the bag it also has the crest right here um and it’s like a more dressy sweater it’s not like

You know like a crew neck that you wear out in the streets to kick it with your home girls with some sweats on like this is like a nicer one and then lastly which i think i’m gonna wear later to the third plenary session i got this sweater and it has you know

Pink and green trim and the crest and it’s like a very thick but like stretchy-ish kind of material and i think i’m wearing that after legacy parade if we get in so yeah that’s the update on everything that i got and yeah see you guys at the next plenary session

Slash legacy parade if we can get in okay lol not i just lied i forgot i have to make these t-shirts um i put on my onesie um because and something to make me and mama some matching t-shirts to see if we can sneak into lexi parade so

That’s what i’m doing now i am designing this movie all over there i am designing um the t-shirt for that still kind of don’t know what i’m about to put on them but we’ll make it work okay my mama took her shirt but this is what my shirt looks like her shirt looks

Basically the same except it doesn’t say legacy what’s this i’ll get that off and then on the back it just has the year we crossed so mine says 2017 and her says 1993. i’m just gonna put one this um sweater and then we’re gonna wear matching black pants

Or yeah black and matching black dress pants put on some shoes throw that on top for the meeting afterwards and yeah thanksgiving okay it’s getting a bit big but you know that’s what we’re working with so yeah i’m gonna just throw this one on top so that i count as business casual and

Pink and green at the same time i’m going to zip this up take it off when it’s um time for the parade and yeah it’s cute i like this come on zipper so yeah that’s what we’re getting see you guys there Is All right y’all um i’m waiting for my mother to get out of the liquor store um but this concludes central regional conference for us i am not going to the gala i am too tired chow like and also just don’t know any like younger people to hang out with that would be down

There anyways so yeah went to the third plenary session snuck up into the um legacy parade and so yeah we’re we’re out on that count and it was fun i really love my sorority i love it more every single time i do stuff like this and yeah i just feel like i

Going to these conferences makes you really appreciate what you have sorry it’s people around me makes you reappreciate like what you have by being in the first and the finest sorority and so yeah that’s out i’m out on this account and like comment and subscribe you know the vibes in bye Okay ella i lied the video not over um i’m salty i did not go to the gala because now i’m sitting here and you know i ate and i didn’t you know relax for like a few minutes or whatever and i’m like i wish i was at the gala

But yeah i i wanted to also take this time because i’ve also been like reflecting on my experience um at the conference like i haven’t done this for other times but still like i’m just reflecting on my time at the conference and i feel like i really had like a

Really like almost like a rededication to the sorority like going through this in person because last year was virtual this in person um this in-person conference and i don’t know i just i’ve been a general member ever since 2018 which means that like i wasn’t a part of

A chapter so i haven’t really had like that same like camaraderie and like i don’t know just like sisterly love and collaboration and stuff um ever since like basically like my first year since being initiated and like i really just feel like like a fire was lit under my

Butt to like get back out there and like join the chapter and i’m really excited that like now that like hopefully stuff is like loose like letting up a little bit and like you know there’s the i don’t necessarily care for like no mass mandate but we’re

About to in chicago but we’re about to like go back at least in aka to in person next month and i’ll be like visiting chapters and like i also get to see some of the chapter people like that of the potential chapters i’ll be joining in person and like talking to

Them and just seeing like the the committee members and stuff and like it just really made me be like it’s time to get to work and it also really made me feel like i love my organization like i literally love being aka like the work that we do is so

Positive and i feel like it really like aka the things that they stand for really align with the things that are very important to me like you know treating other people well and like just basically like it’s just so good the intent behind it

Is so good and the people who are in the organization are so good and so kind-hearted and like the values and everything just it just warms your heart it really just warms your heart to know that you’re surrounded and a part of something so great and so big and so influential

Couldn’t ask for more and obviously i’m just sitting here ranting but like literally like i just feel so honored and blessed to be a part of something that is just so good like i know that’s not a good way to like describe everything but like it’s the goodness for me

It’s the pretty girl-ness for me it’s the first and the finest for me it’s the legacy for me the legacy come on it’s the legacy for me it’s everything for me it’s aka for me yeah so i just wanted to say that um i know like you all couldn’t fully see

What the conference was like because you know that’s not a secret i’m not gonna like just let y’all know what’s going on in my organization like that i just want you to have like a little quick look at like what it’s like like i had so much fun there’s so much

That i learned and got updated on and i just really appreciate that about my organization and yeah that’s what it’s like to be in the life you know i’m saying but yeah so i really appreciate this weekend i really appreciate my sorority and i can’t wait to get to work stop playing
