Powerhouse enti there but before we get into diving into the work you’re doing through majority Greek magazine and your upcoming pearly Awards give us a point of reference about your Greek letter experience the fraternity you’re a member of and some of the moving Parts as a member of f Beta Sigma fraternity Incorporated
Well man this is this is a great year for me so you know I’ve been a member of five bet Sigma fraternity Incorporated since spring of 99 I am a uh a graduate fa State University so I’m HBCU graph from a single letter chapter piie chapter in fville North Carolina and um
This is year 25 for me so I’m I’m excited this is an amazing year for the fraternity overall 110 for the organization 70 years from my chapter Home chapter pot chapter and then 25 years for me so I’m just excited to to be in the mix I’m excited to still be
Serving and um just moving the D9 the fraternity sorority life and my personal life forward you know in the best way that I can well I tell you what first off congratulations on 25 years so you are now I’ll say I won’t say Elder Statesman but definitely a well seasoned
Well vers member and I can say from from the work that you do through the lens of your fraternity you are a great representative of what what it’s really all about so thank you for your service Outreach and part of is not only sharing The Narrative of five Beta Sigma but all
Of our divine nine organizations so walk through with us majority Greek what is it all about okay so like I said I’ve been I’ve been a member of Greek Organization for 25 years just about um but I’ve been for photographer almost 19 so I was I started really in fville
North car moved to mtle beach learned a little bit moved back to fville and then I was there for about 10 years and I just I was I felt I was I was getting too big for the pond so I was like let me try to get into a bigger pond so I
Moved here to Atlanta and um that’s what really started my career as a celebrity photographer because that’s you know that’s what I’m known for most so I was doing photo shoots cover shoes magazine shoes for celebrities and all I was like well you know looking on the this the
Grand scheme of Greek life in Atlanta Georgia it’s literally like 200 plus Greek chapters in the Atlanta metro area right but there’s never ever been like a Essence magazine a Vogue magazine or anything that this focuses just on us even though we have thousands and thousands of members in the area so I
Was like well let me try you know let me let me try it um so so I created majority Greek magazine which is a lifestyle and fashion magazine that focuses on the members of fraternity and stoties mainly the D9 we’re starting to Branch out a little bit because there
There’s so many other military frater sororities and we still got Al alternate chishan fraternity sorties now and it this is really just really grown into something even bigger than what I imagin but the purpose was that once we get past the the high school level not wearing nail you every day not
Jumping around every day we’re not party hopping all the time but the pillars of the community the the judges the doctors the lawyers politicians all a lot of people of affluence are also members of the D9 so let let’s highlight you know these people in in a in a more positive way to
Show the world and ourselves that hey man we do a little bit more than what maybe the mainstream news or the Greek Shenanigans or all these other little websites show we these people are human beings they have families wives husbands kids they have jobs they have entrepreneurship but they’re also
Serving in a level that’s just stellar and that that birth your majority gek and I’m glad you shared that because even when you think about a number of people across the public sector and private sector uh education government nonprofits uh arts and entertainment there is a really
Solid presence of our members across the board not too far back in history when you think about the Civil Rights almost every key leader was a member all of our divine nine so I’m so glad that you are using your publication to say hey look we’re
Gonna do our part to not only positively amplify these individuals but also let them know that these are the organizations that they’re members of of and all of these organizations from 1906 early 1960s have made an impact are making an impact and can continue to make an
Impact so we’re so glad that you are using your platform accordingly and in using that platform you’ve taken it a step further regarding the Pearly Awards so walk through with us the the creative Spirit behind it how it came into being and what’s the Pearly Awards really all
About so this this was the the cool thing like I realized and it was really astonishing like not to I want to say not to toot my own horn but we we have at least eight of the nine organizations have been around for a hundred years or more
Right and I’m the only one that was like hey we need like a a Stellar Awards or rice Awards to really honor our people even more the Magazine’s cool but everybody might not get to that but we have a formal award ceremony in in Met Gala or Oscars or Grammys type vibe that
Would be something stellar and it hasn’t been done before on that level you know we have you might have S of the year in your chapter or you know reasonal might give you know this is a you know but overall this like D9 like hey these are
The most outstanding people this is a Lifetime Achievement Award this person has been doing his thing or her thing for 20 plus years in their in their respective organization 20 plus years in whatever their career field is nobody was doing that so I was like well let’s
Let’s give it a let’s give it a shot this is a extension of the magazine it’s a little more personal we can put an award in their hand we can clap for them out loud we can be in the room dressed up all all beautiful seeing looking
Around the room and seeing just how amazing we really are in real life not just reading the page but like just sitting in a room with two 300 people going man like that’s that’s Judge such and such oh man that’s Doctor such and such oh that’s that’s teacher of the
Year for the Cal County Schools or that’s such as such that’s the chief of police like it’s really really like that now and I think people need to publicly see that so that kind of birth really really just brought me to thing and we can do this and we can just really start
Spreading it to other places as well so Atlanta is like the pilot City but now we’re like really really stretching out trying to make this like a franchise because there’s more people to highlight there’s more than just Atlanta there’s Charlotte there’s Houston there’s Dallas there’s Chicago
There’s DC like we have to get to DC the next five years where you know the good bulk of the organization we’re founded like we got to get to DC and really really show that and then head to the West Coast and really really get busy
But you know this this thing is is a plant that’s been potted and I’m I’m trying to get help to get people to to put some water on it so so that it grows into just something that we can say hey man maybe in 10 years this thing is big
As the Grammy so now we have to have one big Master one like the Grammys has a state or Regional one but at the end of the year there’s this big Mega one where everybody flies into Dallas or something or Atlanta and it’s just these amazing people from hundreds you know 50 states
That like oh wow we just had to be here in this thousands of people at one one you know particular event just to Showcase just how awesome this life is and I tell you what in listening to that you can see the energy you can see the
Passion you can see where the the journalists in you is like we have a narrative and who better to tell our Narrative of impact than us and the members of the respective organizations do it because it’s an extension of whatever their organizational philosophy and approach is it’s still nice to get
The acknowledgement so it keeps those it keeps that energy going and then like you do when members within an organization across organization see people doing this type of creative work this Innovative stuff rolling up their sleeves putting in an honest days work you can’t help but feed off that and ask
What can I within the opes of my respective organization and I like to Pivot to just the hardest part is getting started so walk through with this looking back at December 2022 and how meaningful it is to get started and then Bridge it to the upcoming event in Atlanta taking place
Next month in March yeah that that was hard but to me it it had to be like I you know luckily I had a child that’s going to uh to college for free so the little bit of what I have stored just to make sure that that wasn’t you know was
For that I was taking care of no matter what I was able to use some of that funding to produce the first show so I literally did like 90% of the first show I did photography I did some announcing I wrote the script I did the decor I
Wrote The Blueprint I designed and printed the the the trophies like I was like I did the table settings like I was really I really did everything the only thing I really didn’t do was I didn’t do the videography and I didn’t cook the food that would pretty much the I I set
Up the whole thing I designed the whole thing like it it was great it was cool to see because it was in my head you know like I had I had to be the one to put it on wax because it was my idea nobody had ever heard of it before so I
Had to be the one to kind of Take the Lead and put it all together now we fast forward to to this year and it’s like okay I’m gonna do whatever I have to do because I believe in this but now it’s time for some help I need I need people
To to help me continue to grow this thing continue to spread the words you know get some get a ticket nominate somebody because it has to grow and it can’t just be from me right and like you said before there’s opportunities for people to do
Their part so in speaking to that let us know the date the time the location remind people that even though you are highlighting members of the divine nine it is open to the public so of course ticket information and are there any support opportunities whether it’s serving as a sponsor or

Venue at West cob which is in a very nice venue and um we’re going to be there probably about 6 doors open at 6 6:30 the show will start about 7:30 we’ll probably be done by 9 9:30 so it won’t be all take up all your whole day
Type thing it’s really just get in we got Hal time I’m not halim but yeah intermission is going to be more like a um we got a uh a saxophone is coming in for intermission and we have another surprise for inim Mission as well so we have some cool surprises that kind of
Flow back into majority Greek so it’s going to be a good old time wow and it sounds like what you’re doing is building off the template from the inaugural year in December of 2022 from the standpoint of it’s a nice upscale Affair uh the experience the meat and
Greet experience and making sure that you have a program that is concise and it’s really done with that balance of you know respect Good Humor but positive and good energy like the song good energy it’s def experience and like you stated there are opportunities for people to buy their ticket there are
Opportunities for volunteer you know pieces to help fill in some of the moving parts and also so sponsorships so again remind people date time time location how to get tickets how to sponsor and also just how to nominate yep so everything is at majority greek.com go there you can get your

Well as the nominees there are some dope dope like we we come through Greek life in Atlanta and surrounding areas to find some amazing talent whether they were Lifetime Achievement Award winners or whether they’re like people that are really on fire for the organization in
Their career path now like we have a uh a female uh chief of police that’s going to be recognized we have members out the media that have been doing their thing forever we have former International president we’re going to give a Lifetime Achievement Award is now retired but you know he
Was International president like in in this area like we have we have a few International president from multiple organizations that are literally alive and well in this area that have 20 30 years in in the in the organization that are just still living and still serving
And still just doing amazing things so I think you’ll enjoy it everybody’s gonna be Sharp Dress and it’s going to be it’s it’s a very very grown yet like we we everybody’s had sneaker balls and everybody’s had all these other parties and all that stuff and that’s cool I
Don’t knock that but I wanted to create something was like grown and sexy but still funfilled and still entertaining and having an award show we could say man thank you and learn and that’s one of the major the major differences between our war show and what we do for
Each other on our individual fraternity or S level was like you know who the alpha of the year is I know who the sigma of the year is but I don’t necessarily know who the alpha who the alphas are that are doing amazing thing I don’t know who the Deltas are doing
Amazing thing I don’t know who all the AKA are but we get everybody one place and say man you know this D9 life is like that that doctor is really doing her thing she got a vegan toothpaste line you know this person right here has a nonprofit they rais
$150,000 or whatever that case may be you know we we recognize rashan Ali who’s been remember alha Capa Alpha had also been in the media world for 20 plus years you know that Selena Johnson z v bet who been in the music industry doing her thing for 20 plus years and still
Been a member of Z5 beta actively for 20 something years like it it really is an awesome thing to experience so as we continue you know you go to majority gre.com Jump On In but give us the opportunity to uh to help to share to to like to nominate somebody whatever you

Band forever so any help that is uh that is uh is is willing to be given I’m there for it but you know I I’m just excited about you know just trying to continue to grow this thing how it gets done is going to get done but it’s going
