It was going on everybody this is attention I need once again for this video I decided to kind of touch on you know how to you know move forward after being rejected from a Greek letter organization more particularly in PSC organization or more commonly referred to as a d9 organization so let’s get
Into it alright first thing is you know try apply to become a member or expressing interest in potentially joining one of the MPS the organization is almost similar to that of apply for a job you know you you let the hiring manager in this case the members of the
Work like you know like maybe the president vice president you know etc know that you’re interested in joining you know and just like a job you know you kind of have to present yourself like you know as someone who is ideal for the position you know you’re the top um you should be
The top pick you know you’re making yourself known by showing up to events and you’re you know assisting a you know just strong support you know there’s a fundraiser or some kind of event like II you know like a movie night or some kind of mentorship you know you’re assisting
Or just showing your face is gonna know people in a general level and you know just like a job you know you know typically there’s an interview it’s kind of like a in a little interview process like a you know kind of like a prelude to the actual intake and pledging
Process now you know and just like a job unfortunately you know not everybody who applies gets in and that can suck cuz you know if you were say who are applying for a job and you you know you give them your resume you know resume looks good and looks decent you
You’ve been kind and courteous and you’ve kind of been kind of kind of highlighting your attributes or colleagues your characteristics to the manager and you know you do the interview and you feel like you aced it you know and then at the end an interview they give you that you know
We’ll keep in touch we’ll let you know in a few days or in about a week you know our decision and whatnot and you walk away you might be feeling like you know you got a shot at it and then you get that phone call or that email saying
Yeah thank you for applying but unfortunately we decided to go with another candidate or other qualified individuals and etc X Y Z and you know it can really like damage you know kind of message of confidence a little bit you know so I decided to kind of give a
Little give a few tips and advice on how to you know move forward and kind of improve your chances next time the opportunity may present itself to join that organization should they have another opening for an intake all right so I’m going to start with the most
Personal piece of advice number the main one and like I said is the most important one is do not take it personally okay you know not everyone who gets into an EPC organization it may not it’s not necessarily because you know what they didn’t like you or you
Know you might have done something particularly wrong it might boil down to a few things like on the college on the college level it may be because your GPA might not be high enough like for example if you had like a two point five one and requirements were two point five
That means you’re literally at the cusp you are just barely making even you know so in that case you might want to kind of spend that semester bump your GPA out making sure your grades are up to par next time they might Entei you know so so they’re having it
At 2.51 you might want to bump it up make it shorter as out of like a 2.8 2.9 or 3.0 you feel me all right so try not to take it seriously or another another reason it may be is because you know on your resume you know
You you know you don’t listen look like you’re that involved on campus so you know yes you can say yeah you were a part of this this anime anime club or the video game Club which is finable not nobody is gonna judge you for that but a lot of times what these organizations
Are looking for is how is how like the kind of involvement you have apart from that organization what other Wars kind of highlight you what positions have been held say for example of viewers like student student government president or vice president of secretary or you were the
Head editor at the campus newspaper or you did mentorship like in between classes at the local school district you know or things that make sure you are helping out with Boy Scout or Girl Scouts one of the weekends things like that looking for people who do things
That kind of align with what they do as a chapter or as organization as a whole you know so making sure that you know you’re well-rounded just like how all colleges they look for people who tend to be well-rounded or involved in different things and are shown to have a
Balance between like school life and personal life you know another reason could be is you may not the people in the chapter may not know you that well you know think about it and like you’re considering joining an organization where once you’re in you people are look your journey a family essentially you
Know and just like a family like you know even let’s say for example um if you’ve ever seen the movie poetic justice there’s a scene where you know Janet Jackson – soup pot and the other dispels two characters they were getting Harvard so decides to kind of you know crash a family picnic
Like a family reunion something like that and you know the scene where a tooth pod gets out the car I mean he talked to the drunk uncle that’s me Hornet grill you know pass himself off as like lucky yeah it’s kind of its kind of summer to that you know each org is
Like looking for people who are going to not only uphold their objectives and the missions of that particular organization they’re looking for people who have quality characteristics that you know they can look at and say like you know that is that’s what I get nothing that’s an active brother that is a stand-up
Sister right there you know they’re looking for who the joint like it’s kind of a family so ultimately you know you don’t want to just bring any old body like you know just like kind of like if you had like a relative who just brought home some random stranger off the street
And you don’t know them from a can of paint are you it’s kind of like are you really going to be willing to accept this person no questions tacks or are you going to want to get to know more about that person’s background what are their intentions once they kind of you
Know become more involved with that relative and ergo the family as a whole you know it’s all about you know these orbiters are trying to find out what are these what are your intentions for joining you know and a lot of times you know that’s why it’s important to kind
Of you know show your face get to know people because you know how can you expect someone to want you be part of the family if they don’t really know you like that you know so it’s all about you know making sure I try and get to know people
And not only get to know them let them get to know you let them seem like you know like let me see you know who you are as a person it’s a point where it’s hard to put them turn it down saying you know what you
Know I like they they volunteer a lot you know they’re involved their church they you know pick up weekends they volunteered a mentor at schools teaching them how to prepare for our FAFSA and college applications that’s the kind of person I needed by doing this team you know so essentially
As boys not to like those two things like making sure their GPA is on par making sure that you are well-rounded you’re involved in one or two different things on campus maybe not only that making sure you have you have the experience in leadership roles because a
Lot of times you know they’re also not only looking for more members they’re also looking for members to fulfill roles as far as de Bourgh – and also just making sure you know you actually people actually have a chance to get to know who you are as an individual you
Know so that’s what likes mainly on a college campus for the for alumni is kind of similar but come on a different scale as far as alumni is concerned you know just making sure it’s kind of thinking like you know you still they’re still looking for people who are
Involved or you know well-rounded they manage the time efficiently you know they have something to bring to the table you know but all I kind of like a grand a skill so you’re still looking for people who are involved in things like community service or they you know
Are they involved in their community that they do something that helps kind of improve the people’s lives like for the better and now on a graduate chapter level you know being that you’re no longer on a college campus you know one of the prerequisites is you have to have a
College degree whether it depend on the organization it may require a two-year associate’s degree most of them most of time is so four-year bachelor’s degree or whatnot so that’s the main thing and like I said the other part is just Megastore like are you involved in the
Community at all or you know what is your motivation for joining you know okay things of that nature yeah next part is do not and I can’t stress this enough do not go on to social media and bad the organization that you try to join and got rejected from and here’s a
Couple reasons why one it’s petty for starters because you know it’s kind of like if you try to apply for a for a job at a fortune 500 company and you know you you know Express how you know how you’ve been a fan of this company
For years and you got rejected from the job that you are applying for and you went to kind of just like talk trash about the loan you know making pulse about how you know how lame of company or or trying to point out like you know take subliminal shots at it and it’s
Kind of what kind of this makes it seem like you know it’s more like it looks bad on you than them because you know especially if like you expressed interest and all of a sudden you you didn’t get you can get in on that first try you’re all of sudden turn wrong and
Talking trash about them but like you know now that since you ain’t got in so then that kind of and it’s kind of shoot you shoot yourself in the foot because okay one point sure expressing interest and now you’re just kind of bad-mouthing them so it’s late
It just shows like bit like obvious bitterness and insecurity you know as opposed to just kind of taking it on a sham and kind of learning with me okay kind of accident around accidently to yourself label what could have what hindered me from getting in this time
And I’ll touch on that and a little bit another reason why it’s not the best idea is because believe it or not Greeks talk you know social media has made it very easy to kind of share like information amongst each other so even if you may and if you may not you know
Follow like a lot of Greece the fact of the matter is you know all it takes nowadays you got phones that screenshot stuff all it takes is just a simple screenshot of you know a subliminal tweet aimed at organizations next thing you know it’s where it spreads like wildfire okay
This person is talking about you know this or XYZ war and whatnot so now also okay that’s how it is alright we’ll see like you know maybe just gonna show up at this at the next leg interests me you know you’ll see the attitude changes back then but fine then you know you
Disrespected like the organization’s so they’re kind of like not very good so so that’s couple reasons why you shouldn’t go on social media bashing organizations got rejected from next one um do not I guess I said like don’t try to you know don’t allow like that we like that
Bitterness feeling of rejection kind of make you look at the org differently I remember there was a part there was a point in song you wanted to be part of organization just because you got rejected the first time it doesn’t necessarily mean that you will never get
Another chance like I said earlier it may be because something about your initial application or you’re like you know initial meeting with these people something may not have been entirely up to par so what you can do instead of kind of just you know like allowing
Rejection to hinder you is to kind of say hey kind of approach one of the members like pulling to the side and kind of having a discussion with them saying hey I look like um you know I saw that you know I didn’t I you know get
Picked up and you know it’s kind of curious to like why you know why I didn’t happen you know I thought I had everything together and you know it just kind of sucks that you know I did like I tried to do all this and then you know something wasn’t
Good enough link is there anything I could’ve done better and thought it sounds like you know they’ll be willing with like kind of you know walking through with you like kind of say like okay well one of the things that concern it was that you know
Wasn’t it was like right out the custom like you know we don’t want you to you know get try and do all this and like how you to be a plumber because that would kind of defeat the purpose because you know each of the each of the DNR
Horse you know they are they’re adamant about making sure that the GPA is on point because if your GPA if your GPA is low you’re trying to join it’s kind of like a contradiction you know everyone we all like each of the ORS have their standards as far as
Like you know maintaining a high high or it’s a moderate GPA so that I went because academics are important that’s why these organizations exist one of the reasons they exist anyway okay another piece of advice you can try to do is to be more active like to you won’t have to
Go on campus if you want active in the community depending on I fear trying to go start to enter through a college chapter or everything in the community if you’re trying to do a grad chapter you know it’s all about like trying to survive making yourself know like making
Highlighting your qualities by being becoming more active so that way you can act you can add it to a resume you can kind of let people know hey like you know next time you get a chance to go about it it’s like hey you know since
Last time I kind of like you know dislike this new research and kind of uses time productively it kind of be more involved to kind of show you what hey like I can I can handle this type of work like I’m for all fourth you know trying to mentor kids I’m all about
Trying to promote you know scholarship like you know the fund raising for a charitable cause you know so it’s all about I just make it just like I said earlier in the beginning of the videos but it’s almost if you’re applying for a job you know you don’t want to just go
And just like give you resume and all that all is really on it is okay you worked at this job or you got this diploma or degree you want to make yourself stand oh so that way it’s hard for me to turn you down okay so that
