The Foolishness of God – 1st Corinthians 1:18-31

Brothers and sisters ladies and gentlemen to give us the message the foolishness of God please welcome Apostle Arthur Bailey amen shabbat shalom Saints Shalom greetings to all of you today it’s good to be here with you this this this morning I I find that I have to deliver a very challenging

Message and my my prayer is that our hearts and Minds can can handle it and that we are equipped to to go forth and to share the things that father is revealing or is going to reveal to us with others for those of you who are joining us online and those

Back because as I look back over my own life I see things that I would have done differently if I knew the things that I know today and in some ways I have become well let me say I’m I’ve have become part of a solution now but I

Used to be part of a problem and I’m thankful that Jehovah has given um me opportunity to repent to change change my tune to change my mind to see things from his point of view and yet like Paul In this passage I realize that I’m surrounded

By I don’t know how else to say it except Christian paganism now people people say that I attack the church they say that I attack the Jews and in actuality what I do is try to speak the truth which as Paul is going to reveal In this passage it is a

Offense to some people and a stumbling block to others and so seeing and knowing the things that I know today and looking at this particular passage that we’re going to look at today it gives me a much greater respect for the boldness of Paul is he addressed circumstances and

Situations that cause people to rise up against him and even want him dead sometimes when well we know that according to those who have taught us this the truth hurts the truth can get you killed and that’s a fact Messiah is a prime example of the ultimate truth being presented to

Man but man not necessarily having the appreciation for the truth that he brought because it was different than what they were accustomed to or actually wanted so we’re going to talk about the foolishness of God and we’re going to see throughout this passage and as we continue and I

Can give it to you in a nutshell the foolishness of God is actually the master plan of the most high for the Redemption of mankind after he fell and that’s it really in a nutshell and Paul is going to go go through this particular uh these verses chapter 1

Verse 18-31 in 1 Corinthians and you’re going to see that through the letter to the Corinthians the first letter which we know to be the second letter according to 1 Corinthians chapter 5 we discovered that Paul wrote a letter prior to this letter and that letter is

Lost but we’re going to see as we go through First Corinthians Paul’s emphasis on wisdom and why he had such an emphasis even identifying the gift one of the fruit of the spirit or the gifts of the Spirit is the gift of wisdom we’re going to identify and look

At the fact that there is a wisdom in the Earth but there is also a wisdom from above and so mankind Is confronted with two different types of wisdom but creation mankind pursue the wisdom that is below more than they pursue the wisdom that comes from above and that’s a huge difference between a us and many who confess faith in Jesus Christ we’ll see how Paul actually had to have a revelation

Or as you would say a come to Yeshua meeting on the road to Damascus because he was a wise man who was propagating his wisdom only to realize that the wisdom he was propagating though it was was perceived to be the wisdom of God that it actually was the wisdom of men

That had manifest itself in religion much like this wisdom of religion has manifested itself in us and when we begin to look at the outcome of the wisdom of the church and the and and the beliefs that we have had we realize that we were not very fruitful

Especially when it came to living out our faith as we had been taught and so we’re going to get a a different perspective here today and my My Hope and prayer is that as we continue in this um letter to the Corinthians that you’ll begin to see it from Paul’s

Your question questions get answers for me I find that I cannot walk in something that I don’t understand I can have knowledge I could even have wisdom but if I don’t understand the wisdom in the knowledge that I have there’s no way in the world that I can effectively walk in

Hearts and renew the right spirit help us in Messiah Yeshua amen so as we are looking at this letter and we’ve gone through um the introduction of Paul’s letter to the Corinthians we know that the Greeks of Corinth took great pride and what I want to do uh in this teaching today because

As we were going through the introduction uh of First Corinthians we started in Corinth however uh before Paul got to Corinth he was operating in Greece and I want to show us some things in this particular teaching that will hopefully help us understand a little bit more about the letter Paul wrote

Wrote to the Corinthians you see the thing that Paul observed most of all is that the Greeks were very religious people now I’ve shared with you from my own perspective I haven’t fully grasp how influential Greek culture has been on the United States of America it’s one thing to see it in the

Bible but it’s another thing to live it to experience it and much of what we live and experience we don’t even know that it has influenced or has been influenced or influential from people of other cultures we know that America was not founded it was here when those who

Supposedly founded came it didn’t it didn’t it wasn’t hidden it’s just that they didn’t know it was here there were a people here before those individuals who came on those ships got here there was a understanding there was religion there were things that were taking place

In America though it may not have been called America just like there were things taking place throughout the world and so when Paul got to Greece he realized that there was some things that were taking place there that caused him to to conclude that they were religious

People as I’ve grown up I saw firsthand the effect of superstition associated with Christianity I lived it Superstition was a huge issue in the South where I grew up among people who went to church on a regular pastors were superstitious Bishops were superstitious and so Superstition

Existed here in America and you may be surprised to find that Paul experienced that Superstition when he was in Greece 2,000 years ago the Greeks of Corinth took great pride in their philosophy and wisdom as did Greeks throughout Greece the Greek culture and mindset has influenced people groups and cultures around the

World unlike any other culture and as I start pointing some of the these things out if you haven’t already seen them you will see them Paul’s observation of the Greeks and their devotions to deities and gods became obvious very quickly as he pondered on how to present the message of

Messiah and this is important brothers and sisters that we understand the people and the culture that we are ministering to some of the blockages that you may experience may not necessarily be in what you were saying but it’s the choice of words and the sentencing structure that you’re using to say what you

Say people don’t always hear what you say they hear what they what they think you were saying and when you deal with people who you think understand you there’s a tendency to get a little troubled or bothered when you realize they don’t I had to work on and and I I don’t

I don’t know if I shared this I know I shared it with some folks but last week I took took my wife out to lunch and we went to a a um Mexican restaurant and my wife love she likes Mexican food not a I’m not a big fan of

Mexican food but for her sake I I deal with it I’m just not and so I’m always I’m always ly when I go to any restaurant that has pork on the menu I’ve made a point to where I don’t ask you know for them to I don’t order

Something and tell them not to put this on it because I know that we for the most part are creatures of habit those individuals that are in the kitchen are creatures of habit of habit if they are accustomed To Preparing something a certain way it becomes a habit for them even though you tell them to hold this they get in habit mode and make it the way they know it to be so I don’t order stuff off of a menu and tell them

Don’t put this on it or don’t don’t put that on it because if it’s on the menu then chances are it’s going to end up on the plate that comes out of that kitchen to my table so we went through this whole because my my wife likes

Tamali she loves tamales I mean she just do and they had tamales on the menu and it had pork in it and the waitress told us that the tamales that they had beef tamales you get where I’m going so the tamales come out to the plate to the to the table

Now it didn’t take much to realize this is not beef now me I’m stressing the fact listen no pork this is how I’m talking to the wa no pork no pork no pork what I said and what she heard is not what resulted on the plate that was brought in front of

Us we called over the manager and the manager now wants to make an excuse for the waitress whose English was not that good and so I’m saying well why are you s sending a person to an English-speaking table taking a order whose English is not that good now I’m

Upset but the point I’m I’m trying to make here is that people don’t always hear what you’re saying people are hearing what they think you may be saying or they’re hearing you based on their understanding and not on your understanding this take place in churches when people come to a community

They come with the belief system that what they’re what they’re being instructed they already know and understand when nine times out of 10 what we know and understand is based on how we have been taught but a lot of our culture and beliefs and understanding is incorporated and we hear these things

Through those years Paul now is trying to figure out and he’s got to figure out how to communicate to to these people who are very religious how do you communicate with religious people the foolishness of God as I stated refers to the wise Redemption plan now I say why is redemption plan

Because the Redemption plan of Jehovah seems foolish to people in the world I mean think about this the the conversations you’ve had with people who will argue that God doesn’t have a son the people who will tell you that how can one man sin pay for the sins of another man

Those who would argue why would somebody have to die for you to be saved father’s Redemption plan is what he established at the beginning after the fall of Man and according to Paul’s writings none of the rulers of this world knew or understood now we know about this Hidden Mysteries Mysteries

Hidden wisdom we read that in the scriptures but the world didn’t understand father’s wisdom and his masterful plan on redeeming man that had fallen same thing today the world around us especially young people they don’t understand this message of faith that we’re communicating and we have to get

Innovative in the sense of communica ating to people where there’s this huge gap in language and understanding because there is a gap you and your Generation Me and My Generation and the generation that are coming up the world call them Genies gen X’s Baby Boomers all kinds of names for people of

A certain generation who thought a certain way which have difficulty communicating with a different generation than their own and this requires some wisdom on how to communicate this ageless message to a people of a certain age and I’m not talking Church age or you know some of the stuff these

Theologians come up with not talking dispensationalism by the time of Messiah yeshua’s Ministry the Greek language and culture was of Greater influence than the Hebrew language and culture now you may think that’s in that that that’s strange but the fact of the matter is is that anyone who has who has

Looked at church history the first influence on the Hebrew Faith was established in Babylon this is after the almighty gave his instructions prior to his instructions the Hebrew people were influenced by the Egyptians when the Hebrews came out of Egypt there was no such thing as a

Hebrew mindset they all had an Egyptian mindset because that’s where they had all grew up that’s where they had grown up that was the influence many of us our influence didn’t come from the church our influence came from our homes and from the societies that we lived

In if you think about it the Egyptians influenced the first generation of Hebrews that came out of Egypt when they went into Babylon the Babylonians influenced the generation that came out of Babylon by the time Messiah came we had what the theologians called the inter Testament period that is that that that

Space where theologians want to convince us that for 400 years God was silent only later to find out that there was some books written in between the Testaments that we know today to be the Apocrypha but also that the almighty continued to speak and during that inter Testament period there was a Greek

Era where the Hebrews were influenced by the Greeks to the point to where the maban period was a period where the Greeks had such an influence on the Hebrews that many of the Hebrews almost became Greek and whether they became Greek in their thinking or in their in their in their culture they

Certainly became Greek in their Thinking by the time Messiah comes on the scene the Greeks have influenced religion the Hebrew religion was influenced by the Greeks first the influence of the Egyptians then the Babylonian influence and then the Greek influence and since that time the Greek culture and

Influence has had a profound effect on our belief in faith the placard on messiah’s crucifixion stake were written and read in three languages John 19:19 and pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross and the writings was Yeshua of Nazareth the king of the

Jews this title then read many of the Jews for the place where Yeshua was crucified was nigh to the city and it was written in Hebrew Greek and Latin the Greek language was the dominant language Believe It or Not Aramaic was spoken in various dialects Latin was the the language of the

Romans but for the most part Greek was the street language if you would that people operated by to this day the Greek G culture dominates Western thinking education and philosophy in institutions of higher education those who pledge to fraternities and sororities do so using Greek symbols anyone here who have gone to a

Institution of Higher Learning who pledged to a fraternity or sority that fraternity and that soroity operated in Greek symbolism that’s a fact Western Civilization has its foundation in ancient Greek now here’s an interesting fact you may not know democracy was in invented by the Greeks what’s our system of government we’re Democratic

Republic Democrats and Republicans living in a democracy with a capitalist soci with with a capitalist mindset as far as money is concerned we operate in capitalism the concepts and name of democracy and Constitution as a form of government originated in ancient Greek or Athens which is Greece Circle 508 BCE in ancient Greek

Greece where there were many cities states with different forms of government democracy was contrasted with Governors by the elites which were aristocracy by one person a monarchy that’s you had the Kings and the folks who wanted to get away from the tyranny of the King by coming to this this

Country and then of course you have dictators you have different forms of governments in different places in the world but the one that is the dominant form is democracy which was established by the Greeks many many years ago think about this for a moment any of us who have sent our

Children to college to University we taught them our faith and our belief system how is it that they come back devoid it it’s it’s it’s interesting and it’s not so much that they’re telling our children don’t believe in God that’s not how it goes they’re teaching them a way of life that is

Different than pursuing the almighty now think about this why do we send children to college we want them to get an education for what purpose we want our children to be able to operate in this current Society understanding the capitalist system of government we’re under and we

Want them to prosper so we can so we don’t have to pay for their lunches anymore we want them to be able to take care of themselves so what do we do from the time we are brought up our parents put us in the system of Education to pursue what Knowledge to pursue knowledge we send them to college to get a good education to pursue what wealth now the Bible tells us that if we want all the things that the world’s seeking for what should we be pursuing him but that’s foolishness to young people how is God going to pay my

Bills how is God going to make going provide for me why because they see parents providing for them and so the relationship that we have to teach them that window of opportunity by the time we send them off to college it’s gone our job should be teaching them to

Pursue who Jehovah but is that what we’re doing are we pursuing him because if your children don’t see your solid relationship with the most high the chances of them having a solid relationship with the most high is null very slim why because we imitate what we

See and because we imitate what we see we walk by sight now we can tell and say and preach and teach my my daughter came over to our house last night yesterday evening and um I made dinner and we sat and we ate next thing

I know she’s on the phone talking to her sister she’s said girl daddy over here talking to us like like we grownups he ain’t preaching next thing I know my her sister is coming over now cuz see here’s what I heard heard I heard my daughter say that Daddy preaches at

Them but now I’m talking to her like another adult and when I heard that it dawned on me hey I’m a preacher I preach and most of my conversations are preaching that’s who I am that’s what I do but communicating to her in the manner that I was communicating to her

And then hearing her communicate to a sister it said to me that I have to make some adjustments in how I communicate because here’s what they’re expecting me there’s an expectation of what’s going to come from me which means that okay if they’re going to come into my presence this is what they’re

Expecting unless their expectations are changed because here’s what I notice they were coming less and less and less so I’m listening right Daddy’s got to change his approach before going to Corinth Paul came to Athens Greece and was introduced to the Greek deities and gods and here’s

Where now we we picked up in in later on in Acts chapter 17 into Acts chapter 18 in our introduction but in Acts chapter 17 Paul had been ran out of thessalonica and when the Jews of thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea

They came there also to stir up the people and so you see these people following Paul wherever he go because of what he was preaching to to stir up the people so that they would be in opposition to Paul these were people that used to be Paul’s comrades until Paul got this

Revelation of Truth and stopped preaching what they agreed to and began to preach the truth and then immediately the Brethren sent Away Paul to go as it were to the sea but Silas and timotheus Abode there still and they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens and receiving a commandment unto

Silas and timotheus for to come to him with all speed they departed now while Paul waited for them at Athens his Spirit was stirred in him when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry now this next verse therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews why is he

Disputing in the synagogue with the Jews after that statement what was the mindset because I’ll tell you something brothers and sisters religion is affected by the culture in which it’s immersed in Christian culture is affected by americanism this this is why when evangelists and missionaries are sent

From America they take with them the Democratic mindset and the American culture now if you’ve never gone into a foreign country into a city in a foreign country an experienced Church in a foreign country in that City you would come face to face with the fact that

People in this country is having church just like Americans how does that happen how is it that you can go to a country across the across the Great Sea across cross the ocean and have church like you in America the American culture went with the missionaries how has that

Happen the American culture is not in the Bible so how is it that the Bible teaching preachers and ministers and churches established in those places that they go have an American flavor and now you’ll find that those places where the Bible go people want to now migrate to

America you won’t see it unless you see it and once you see it it’s like oh my therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews and with The Devout persons and in the market daily with them that met with him then certain philosophers of the epicurian and of the

Stoics encountered him and some said what will this babler say other some he seemed to be a set of forth of some strange Gods because he preached unto them Yeshua and the resurrection and they took him and brought him unto areopagus saying may we know what this new doctrine whereof thou speaketh is

For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears we would know therefore what these things mean and notice the parentheses for all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else but either to tell or to hear some new thing think about how often you’ve heard

God is doing a new thing he’s doing a new thing the same old God but doing a new thing people have an issue with what is is and want something other than what is believe it or not when what is is what worked you will not see the kind of

Power that you see in the book of Acts amongst the first century Believers why because since the first century the gospel has constantly been watered down watered down to fit the culture in which it’s in today to see how people dress when they go into the house of God into the worship

Environment to see the language and the behavior it’s more like what you see out in the world and how the world has infiltrated these places of worship then Paul stood in the midst of Mars Hill and said you men of Athens I perceive that in all things you are too

Superstitious for as I passed by and beheld your devotions I found an altar with this inscription to the unknown God whom therefore you ignorantly worship Him declare I unto you and so Paul pointed out this inscription or this altar with the inscription of the unknown God and said that this is

Going to be the focal point of me introducing to them the god of creation he’s unknown to them so I’m going to make him known but they had a variety of different gods and you’ll be surprised of how Greek has in influenced religion let me show you the

New Testament writings are written in Greek the Bible the New Testament writings are written in what culture what language Greek when you look at words like Hades and Tartus you wouldn’t necessarily associate them but those are Greek words just like several words that you will find in the English translation that

Comes from the Greek we have to use a concordance to give us the English definition of what the Greek words now I’m saying these things slowly because up until this point you would think okay well the New Testament is written in Greek but I’m saying the New Testament is written in

Greek the most idolatrous people in the Bible during Paul’s day how can we not be Greek minded if we’re interpreting English words from Greek words Greek use the culture of the New Testament is Greek now the C culture of the Old Testament is supposed to be Hebrew think

About this for a moment the average Church Pastor will tell you that Paul was the Apostle to the Greeks or to the Gentiles right and they will tell you that they’re not under the law they’re under grace now think about this for a moment Paul the Apostle to the Gentiles didn’t quote Greek

Prophets he quoted from the Hebrew let that sink in for a moment why would he be quoting from the law to people who ain’t under it right why would he be quoting from the Hebrew prophets to Greek minded people because he’s trying to help them understand the Hebrew roots of their

Faith your faith is grounded grounded in the Hebrew scriptures but most New Testament Christians Faith are grounded in the Greek scriptures now I ain’t trying to get in trouble but truth is truth and I’m saying to you the same thing but there’s a there’s a ajustment in how you’re hearing Greek knowing that

The mindset of the Greek see the Hebrew people had issues with the Greek from the time of Antiochus there other ones who brought in what some would call the Abomination that causes desolation that brought in the defilement that brought in the whole Cult of sexual immorality if you would I mean

We’re going to get to a place to where you see somebody in church having sex with his father’s wife course you know it happened in the Old Testament too but this is after individuals had been taught faith in Yeshua how is it that you can teach people the truth and they still

Live a certain way and then bring that stuff right up in the midst of the assembly and live immoral now there’s some people over here Whispering I can’t believe I can’t believe he he’s doing that I don’t know what should we do what let’s ask

Paul Paul said I’ll tell you what to do the next time y’all come together and I’m with you in the spirit put them out out a wow that’s the kind of preacher Paul was but people want to make him soft just like they make Yeshua soft Yeshua wasn’t soft brothers and

Sisters of all the world cultures the Greek culture has been the most influential as stated the biblical knowledge we rely on today is given to us based on theologians from Greek writings requiring English translations finally 1 Corinthians verse 18 chapter 1 for the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish

Foolishness but unto us which are saved it is the power of God now now this is a mouthful because Paul is writing to these individuals who are steeped in Greek culture who have pursued wisdom and knowledge for the M majority of their lives and now he’s trying to communicate to them

That there’s some things that you have learned that is going to get in the way of the things that I’m trying to teach you and that is the things that we’re preaching it’s going to sound really strange to you it goes against your upbringing it goes against the things

That that your ancestors have taught and that your family that you live among believe you’re going to see that for these individuals to come into this walk I mean it was a hard time hard thing for Paul Paul lived a way that he fought the teachings of Messiah until Messiah got in his

Way and the Very problem that Paul had with what he was persecuting all of those people that Paul was in relationship with had the same problem so now that Paul don’t have that problem anymore all the people that Paul was in relationship with had problems with Paul see all your Christian families

Those of you who went to church on Sunday those of you who celebrated Christmas and Easter and all the stuff that the church celebrated and then you stop celebrating it the people who used to celebrate it with you now got a problem with you he says for the PE preaching of the

Cross to them that perish is foolishness but unto us which are saved it is the power so what is he say there is power there is a there’s Supernatural power in the word of God there is no Supernatural power in religion there’s there’s no there’s no power in

Superstition but think about that black cat think about that for a moment now some of y’all didn’t come out of that culture but I was steeped in it black cat cross your path walking underneath a ladder opening up an umbrella in the house coming in the house with your hat

On my sisters as I’ve shared with you before my sisters would not let a man a woman in the house on new years’s the first person who had to come in in that house on New Year had to be a man and then the church the church on

December 31st we going to have our watch Night Service so that you start the year in church if you start the year in church chances are you’ll be in church all year long you don’t see that as Superstition hey that’s the wisdom of church no that’s Superstition the preaching of the Cross

Is preaching the crucifixion of a man for the Redemption of mankind the crucifixion of the anointed one the Messiah made salvation available to all who believe in him and what he did by giving his life as a ransom for all Titus another one of Paul’s letters or

Timothy 1 Timothy 2:5 he says for there is one God and one mediator between God and Men the man Messiah Yeshua who gave himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time so them that perish is reference to those who reject the message of Faith

Yeshua preach that’s the gospel of the Kingdom remember what Yeshua said in John he says and no man has ascended up to heaven but he that came down from heaven even the son of man which is in heaven as Moses lifted up the serpent in

The wilderness so must the son of man be lifted up that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life for God

Sent not his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved now think about that for a moment that the world through him so the world is the the world is in trouble and God sends a man the world is is is dying and God

70s or something like that and so now I’ve gotten it down where it’s 60s or 160s 160s I’m sorry 160s and then over 80 as a diastolic so um I have been monitoring and what they what I do is I take my blood pressure and it’s hooked up to

Some kind of device and it sends it to the nurse and the nurse calls me every month and we talk and stuff like that so he has been going down because I realize some of the triggers that send my blood pressure up so I said’ no I can’t let

This control me I’m going to have to you know lower it down and to be at piece with myself and to learn how to rest but you don’t get your blood pressure down by not doing nothing you really need to exercise to be able to do

It but you need to get be active but I needed to also control my mind so I’ve gotten it down now where I’m averaging about 131 and they said for people my age 130 is like perfect but I’m still trying to get it in the 120s and a lot

Of times that is in the 120s so I talked to the lady yesterday and so I said well I said I guess I’ll be getting down so far well I’ll be graduating from y’all she said oh no no no no you don’t never graduate that we we just keep you going

Even though you’re regular now and I had to think about this so even if I’m regular y’all want to still monitor me but that that that has a a a feeling of still being under Medical Care and that that that would keep me from being in my

Started a Christian School and so my children went to the Christian school and then um when I got into denominational Ministry even there my children had uh a partial payments that they were making because I was on staff and then when I went into the Lutheran they had access

To University and then when I went in the Christian uh reform that had access to the Christian schools and the Christian colleges and so my children went through that process when I came out of the Christian church that’s when I realized if I had to do it all over

Again there’s no way in the world I’ll send my child to a Christian school now I found myself saying stuff like I would prefer my child in a secular education than putting them in a Christian School to be brainwashed today I wouldn’t do that I don’t prefer secular education

Offerings I’m going to put $2 in this offering a dollar in that offering I’m going to put $4 in this offering I ain’t lying to you I’m telling you the truth and then there was adjustment in my thinking it’s like I need to I read about TI tithing I believe in tithing

And so I’m going to start tithing and then I started tithing and then I began to exceed the tithe because of where my needs were but all this was part of my thinking because I’m not going to have my wife outside the house working so I’m

Going to have to adjust how I spend money and this is where I became a negotiator I taught my son my my my young my uh second to the youngest son his first negotiation a couple of months ago this was the first time he ever negotiated say son you need to learn how

To negotiate now I gotten Wicked in negotiation and what I mean by Wicked is that the people I negotiated with ended up paying me because I was so rough in my negotiation to I had to kind of adjust that because good negotiation says these these people should come out happy to do

Business with me and I should not be the only one that’s benefiting from this so I started giving a little bit but I was tough in my negotiation and the point I’m trying to make is when I made the decision that I was going to send my children to to

Christian School I had to change my whole world view on how I spent money how I shopped how I dealt business with people because I’ve I’ve got I’ve got this amount of money coming in and here’s my expenses and it was early on that I learned that I’m G to have to either

Adjust my income or adjust my expenses that started me on the Journey of being a money manager and then father blessed my management or should I say my stship because my faithfulness of watching over every scent I I earn the name sheep or Miser that’s what they called me you’re

Just cheap you’re a cheap brother you’re my no I have a certain amount of money coming in and I want to live a certain lifestyle and so I have made some adjustments and this is where I’m this is where I live this is my mindset and that began

To go over and this is why I learned the principle and the lessons that is associated with tithing because now if I’m going to take a portion of my income that I really need and then give it to the almighty through the church then now I’m going to have to

Manage this other piece of my income to such a degree and then father began to show me that through my stewardship of being faithful over the little he began to increase and man when I got into the Torah it took about three four good years years for that whole process to

Kick in to where now I done tapped in it was some struggling initially some serious struggle because when I began to keep the Sabbath it cut me off from all of those resources that I had coming from the church chur I no longer had the Christian School I no longer had the Christian

University I no longer had the pension I no longer had the insurance a lot of that stuff was cut off when I decided to walk this way and it was in a way discouragement to designed to try to pull me back but I kept moving moving

Forward cuz I’m reading you will be a lender and you will not be a borrower well it’s going to take a while to get to that and so now this is where the consistency come in but one thing led to another and the ultimate thing was the mindset because now I’m putting him

First in everything and the more I put him first in what I was doing I start seeing how he was compensating me in these areas but then I came to another problem I had to break from being cheap I was so used to being tight

As they say you know back in the day boy you squeeze a dollar so hard to make the eagle green I had to break that mindset because I had lived that way for so many years to where this is how I’m going to raise eight children and a

Wife live in a nice neighborhood go to nice and my children to nice schools off of one income today I look back at it I know how I did it but it’s tough living off of one income and the hard part is getting people to make the adjustment in their

Thinking that was the difficult part for me today getting back to the question I would strongly encourage parents of small children especially and it really don’t matter what age but I was strongly encourage if it is at all possible and this is where the Torah comes in again it is the

Parents responsibility to train their children up not to send them out somebody else to train them it’s the parents responsibility to train their children now I know it’s going to take some people an adjustment to get there because the system has said give me your give me your poor give me your

Destitute give me your children we’ll make it easy for you so you can go off and work for somebody else and keep the government running we got your children in the government schools and now we’re pushing all these agendas how is it that a a seven-year-old come home talking about

Is am I transgender where did you get that from you got lgbtqa in the elementary school how does that happen and then you send your children into that environment you a child is not able to navigate that type of environment they are not wired for it they’re easily

Influenced and the influence should come from you not those people you sending them to because their influence is not going to be the same as yours so if you develop in your mind and let’s say you say as a young person when I get married I’m going to marry someone

Who’s going to understand the importance of not sending his wife out to be a slave to another man that’s the way I saw it why should I send my wife out to work for another man now she got two bosses and that boss got more influence than me

Cuz he putting money in her pocket that’s the mindset I had to take see but I also had to come to the conclusion that if I’m going to send my wife out to work then I’m going have to take on some responsibilities at home I can’t expect

Her to go out to work and then come home and be a wife and a mother and do all the work of a wife and a mother cuz now I want to be served if you want your wife to serve you when you come home then don’t send

Her out there to serve somebody else and then expect her to come home and bring her paycheck and give it to you to help you and then she got to serve you too that’s the world’s way of thinking now I ain’t trying to offend nobody you ask me a

Question in order to effectively train your children up the way the almighty has you have to take on the mentality because that is instructed in the Torah that is instructed in the law you have to take on that mindset you can’t you can’t take on a part of it and discard the

First the sentiment shared about public school my wife and I were aware of that as well and so we refused to do that and God’s blessed us with the ability to not have to uh we attempted to avoid the challenges of public school by going to private school for our our 5-year-old

Son only for him to uh he’s got a lot of energy he likes to run around um he thinks he’s a a video game character that runs all the time um and uh he’s been labeled as someone who disrupts the learning environment now he’s going to school to learn and he’s learning and

They can’t deny that he’s learning but he learns probably so fast that he gets bored and he doesn’t sit in his chair and he’s getting pulled out of class time being held in from Recess which is what he need needs and we’ve gotten uh a referral to

Send him to a a counseling place for behavioral therapy which we’re going to go see what they’re talking about because you know I I want to see if there’s wise counsil there and can learn some stuff because I know we’re not perfect parents um but I know we we are not

Going to medicate him and I know there’s research that says we don’t have to um but that’s that’s a tangent um it got to the point where where we had to do some meetings with the administrators of the school and they said that if he keeps

Behaving this way we’re going to have to send him home they triy they they called me and told me I had to pick him up the first time I’m like I got two I’m a therapist I have two sessions one person’s suicidal and the other the other

Couple’s getting divorced so if you can keep them please keep them and they kept them the second time I had to come pick them up but by the time I got there was 15 minutes ahead of time and there’s just a lot of things that rubb me the

Wrong way they’re kind of throwing their hands up and saying we got to figure this out and um I took the message and I’m like okay we got to figure out how to raise our son and a verse that uh my wife had shared with me that

Convicted me was uh well I I had shared the verse with her and then she gave me a different way of looking at it and the verse I shared with was uh he who Spears the rod hates his child now for a long time I had thought

Of that verse as I need to physically discipline my child she gave me a different way to look at it though um in terms of a word studyed the word Rod referencing the shepher shepherd’s Rod that would guide and protect and I I really heard heard that

And I felt convicted that I need to guide and protect my son from these diagnoses and the labeling and the stigmas at this school and so I’ve made oh man I wrestle with this decision because I’m already tired I am tired I I use the Sabbath to

Go to sleep early and I don’t wake up until like 12 o’clock is is or 11 o’clock is is is tired but I’ve I felt convicted to educate my son I know he likes to learn he does learn when he’s with us and so I have the ability God’s

Blessed me with that flexibility of my work schedule to to homeschool him so uh I don’t know how to do that I’m learning but um that’s what we’re going to do and I’m telling you like yesterday uh we had to either reenroll and dropped $2,000 to re reenroll him in

A private school or I had to make the decision and I made spoke a lot of conversation with my wife and I made the decision that we’re going to uh homeschool him and I sent the email yeah and I wanted to take him to a a indoor Jungle Gym area they didn’t open

Like we got there early they opened in 30 minutes and uh I’m like well let me see if I can find some homeschool stuff kid you not uh3 miles across the street basically there’s a store called the homeschool store been there all this time yeah

Never never knew about it and so we went in there we got some stuff and it’s just like and then I’m I’m here today uh since like 1115 1120 talking about education education system Greek influence of you know uh what people how people see things and yeah it’s just confirmation that

Handling I don’t expect my wife to be out there mowing the lawn or raking leaves or whatever the case may be I do all of that but this is our scenario your scenario is what you and your your spouse work out key part is that you work out an agreement between yourself

That you both can commit to as far as working income money and those kinds of things one of the things that uh this financial person talked about is delayed gratification delayed gratification ation delayed gratification the way I interpreted it is that when I get to a certain age

After I’ve made the sacrifices that I’m making then I will be able to enjoy my life a little bit better whereas I can’t do it at this particular point and this is where retirement thinking came there are people today that doesn’t have a sense of delayed gratification they want everything right

Now this causes people to live by credit credit cards and things of that nature living in the city and this is this is one of the things that the almighty showed me and I’ve told you the story about my first real estate agent wanted to put me in neighborhood they

Wanted me in and not take me into places and so I end up firing my my realtor and we ended up in a home in a neighborhood that ain’t nowhere in the world we would have been able to get and we started out with a land

Contract we ended up in a really really nice neighborhood and every every dollar we put into that house we pulled it out plus some and sold it at a profit in a beautiful neighborhood but I say that because the almighty gave me the Insight on how to

Track down the owner of the house and to negotiate directly to the with the owner and I had a real estate agent that did all the paperwork for me but he showed me the process in which to go and this is why I talk about sometimes or I’ve

Said there’s more than one way to buy a home I had a GI bill that I didn’t have to use because of negotiating with the homeowner and then being able to purchase that home at a fraction of what it would have cost if I had gone the traditional way and that’s been my

Mindset so I don’t look at the way things are as the way I have to operate because this is where the almighty gives you insight into things that you now can go around or bypass traditional systems but this comes from him but you Al have to be open to him to

Do that so don’t lock yourself into the idea that cuz once you lock yourself in an idea then that’s how you going to see things having to go but if you constantly remain open and look for the opportunities because before I got to the place to where I bought this house

Like that father connected me to somebody to where he taught me how to negotiate how to look for land contracts how to look for foreclosures how to look for tax deferred properties and a whole lot of other things to our learn skills that now I’m putting to work for me

Personally but this is the almighty’s doing so don’t lock yourself into a certain way of doing things because again once you lock yourself into that you limit your thinking the almighty owns everything and he know how to get you where he want you but you have to be open and yielded to him

24/7 committed to his ways and he’ll do it I know he will yes sh Shalom sh Shalom um I was uh thinking about the ties uh looking to the business Parts because when you manage like a business you have like a some Management on the on the gross incomes but sometimes not

The gross income is no all all all belongs to you you know for that gross income is like oper uh expenses for operating the business and then know all the gross income going to become profit so my question is you tie for the gross income or you tie from The Profit

Yeah again your relationship with the almighty will determine how you do that and I say it that way for this reason companies say to a company that a company depending on how you set it up a sold proprietorship an LLC a corporation depending on how you set it up and that

Becomes a dump a dummy company companies don’t tithe because they’re not people you follow what I’m saying now it’s a matter of how you run the company that you established because when it comes down to income the income that comes to you is yours now how you manage that is going

To be between you and the most high there are some people who have taken the position of tithing off of their company and tithing off of their personal income but that’s their mindset and because tithing I am the person who believes that tithing is between you and the most

High I know how I’ve done it and I know how other people have done it but it’s individuals that father is asking to tithe companies can’t talk but companies are owned and controlled by individuals yeah um I think for me in my case I will tie from The Profit like the

Company because the profit of the company will become my pay so I will I will tie from the pay that I get from the company that is mine the individual for the operating uh for the operating uh expenses I can’t tie because I would be time for material be time for paying

Employees so that will be fair you know High more from uh where is income directly from Individual so uh the other question I have is if you get your pay like individual person you get your pay you will tie for the money you pay for rent because that’s like a operating expense

So if you tie for the money of the rent you hear your husband over here see you trying to talk yourself into some stuff is what you’re doing yeah I know I’m trying to understand so I can handle it better because um like individual person we have some expenses

Too so it would be fair you you pay for the gross income you get in your paycheck or you or you remove the the expenses you get like rent and food and you only tie from your profit there is a part or you tie for the gross income

Well this is where people people have have struggled because I’ve always tithed from the gross that’s that’s before taxes because I don’t know if you get a check stub from your business or how you do that or how you handle your your bookkeeping and things of that nature

But when I worked for steel case steel case gave me a check stub from that check stub there’s the gross income and then there’s the net income within the net in income because I had set aside some money for 401k I determined that I was going to use the maximum amount of

Um um dependence so that they would take the the maximum amount of money out of my check so at the end of the year when I file my taxes I would get a refund a lot of that went into the thinking but the main thing was the gross the gross

Income says this is how much money you made yeah now the mind for me is that okay there’s the federal government they ain’t asking me well they did ask me to take money from me I just didn’t know they were asking me because when I filled out my

W2 was it W2 or W when I filled out my W2 I gave the company the right the federal government the state St government the city government County and F right to take a certain amount of money out of my income so where do my income

Start at the gross at the gross yeah do do God do do do God get paid after Uncle Sam no no that’s the mind I had to come to I think that’s the right idea because uh we tie for the government we tie uh we

Tax they tax from the gross too so why am not going to a tithe from the gross too right yeah so that I think that’s the for me the tithe was from the gross yeah because I can have all kinds of expenses taken out of my

Check and then now I got a net yeah but what I’ve done is that I’ve allowed the government to get paid I’ve allowed myself to get paid and then I’m giving God what’s left yeah and I reversed that way of thinking yeah put it hit first put him first

Your focus on yahovah and he will he is your provider he just uses your husband as a resource to provide for the house and please know that if it’s not coming from the direction that you think it should be coming from meaning your husband you’re looking at him and it

Seems as though he may be falling short don’t put that energy out towards him take your grievousness to yahovah because he’s going to be the provider ultimately even if your husband has the resources and it seems as though he’s being tight fist or being stingy or

Whatever you want to call it or not uh Distributing the money properly or as you think it should go because you have a way you think things should go and it’s not going the way you think it should go keep those grievances to yourself and take that to yahovah as

Your burden to carry as the wife and stay focused on the fact that yahovah is the head of your house and your husband might be the physical person standing before you that’s the head of your home but he is just a resource he is not the provider yahovah is the provider and the
