[Applause] my good morning okay so um we were in the middle of a piece with the on the first conversation that has withan and this is before the drama between Ken and H this is just after the sacrifice and we talked about how God turned to he and his sacrifice and he
Did not turn to Cen and his sacrifice and then it says that cenne got angry and his face fell and then God told him listen if you get better great but if not sin crouches at your door and he will always desire you and you must
Rule over him and we talked about Das has been discussing these verses and um we’re just at the uh we have a a few more points to do in this idea of that sin is crouching at the door okay so I’m on page 58 in my Edition on the right hand
Column the believe the second to last paragraph right yeah okay o hell God says to if you do not improve no I’m sorry if you improve Say it’ll be good for you why do you not purify yourself and repent return to God say that’ll be good that God says if you purify
Yourself and you repent I will uplift you and carry you that denotes being able to overcome challenges and to reach Heights that one normally can’t by themselves okay but if you do not improve make an effort to improve you don’t take a step forward to purify but if you hold on to your
Current path behold to the port hole that they open for you what does that mean so um there are two that are contrasted one says somebody who comes to purify they help him meaning somebody all somebody has to do is to make the minimal effort to purify oneself and to
Come close to God with the pure resolve and God will do the hard work the heavy LIF he helps you he AIDS you it’s not just you’re not left to your own uh limitations whereas also say somebody who comes to imp purify imp purify himself somebody who seeks out uh
Darkness and is looking to stray from sh they open the door meaning they will not help you but they’re not going to get in the way they allow you to Choose Your Own Adventure but if you’re coming to come close to God they help you so over here the is noting that
The verse says there’s an opening referring to if you try to purify yourself say God will actually carry you but if not you not improve yourself to that opening that sh will allow you meaning there’s no limit don’t expect sham to stop you from from um choosing a path that ultimately
There’s no limit to how far you can go they’ll open up for you just like the rabis say somebody who comes to um to make himself impure they open for him God tells don’t give up don’t think it’s entirely impossible to continue to have another fall to St um again meaning you think
That this is just a it’s a path it’s a whole path that if you do not do the minimal to improve it’s inevitable that you will uh go down a path where there’s no limit to how far you can go don’t think that just because I’m not
Going to help you imp purify yourself there’s a limit to how far you can go rather the door will be open for you because God says if I’m not the one causing you to sin he behold that sin that you already did just that first initial step to the dark
Side it crouches to um to to make you sin meaning it’s already your uh your you are you are already its prey because one sin causes another sin to follow and do not wait till you’re standing again at another sin before you purify yourself because already he is already Desiring
You he’s already coming to you inviting himself into your space you didn’t do a sin a second and a third time you only did one sin already and he’s already like that beggar that poer he’s begging you to do as well as you must rule over him from here on opposed to
The you still have a chance to rule over him and if you do not he will become the owner of the house the popper will come and displace you and then he will rule you so God’s saying listen you don’t have a choice right now it’s urgent you
Need to take a step forward to purify yourself or you’re lost o Yar which is indeed by the way what happens o yar alternatively another point it’s possible right now that I’m having this conversation with youen and you’re going to be lazy you’re going to procrastinate from repenting because you’ll be discouraged
Because you’ll think that I willon accept it or rather you think that I’m always going to play favorites with your brother meaning whatever whatever um whatever narrative you’re experiencing right now you’re going to allow this is going to be a reason why you won’t do what you need to do and repent Um and you’re going to think that I’m always going to prefer your brother why because your brother never sinned whereas you sinned and you had to repent and you’re always going to feel like you’re playing second fiddle and you’re always going to be resentful or even for a second reason when you
Say you can blame um your sin on your and you will think that you cannot ever beat him and you’re going to let go of the RS you’re just meaning God doesn’t want him to become despondent for whatever reason and feel that it’s useless and even improving you’re going to say whether
You sin or you don’t sin God always hates you Al meaning even he right he he never sins so he’s always preferable and so even if Cen doesn’t sin again he’s going to think that that God will always prefer heaven and if he and what’s the
Point so he he’s not in a state he he needs to be empowered now to step close to God so God’s trying to tell him therefore I’m trying to tell you it’s not that way it’s not like that regarding your first sin you should know if you improve now and you indeed
Repent it’s going to be better than it was before because I will place you higher than your brother tell us that the place right the verse says shom shom peace peace to those that are far and those that are near say based on that um in the place where those who repent
Those who have sinned and then have come back stand who meaning somebody who never sinned cannot even stand in that special relationship that abala has with God so God says listen everything is not lost in fact it could even be better than it was before and he even though you would think that
He’s preferable because he’s a he never sinned but the place where repentant people stand even cannot stand however alternatively if you do not improve right now you have to know in this very moment sin is crouching to attack at the door before the evil inclination gets a person to double and triple a
Sin he’s like a a beggar and he’s standing at the door all the time asking for money and you will be you know he’s going to try to compel you you right his desire is to overcome you that you should give him a hand therefore God is saying to I’m giving you
Advice you in your current state now meaning this is all before you do Chua okay right I’m sorry there now you still haven’t mean just because now you’re living in a constant struggle with the and he’s become a character in your life and you think now that you’re lost
That’s not indicative of anything except that you have to be vigilant okay and and don’t think meaning you think you didn’t even do all you did was w a ver and now you can’t get rid of him right that doesn’t mean that’s an inevitable that you have to do
The a the second time and the third time you have to stand your ground um and um even though now you didn’t even yet double and triple a sin he can rule over you right so do not allow him to to rule over you okay so these are various
Aspects of a pep talk where God has to address all kinds of various concerns where somebody in K’s Position will actually be repelled from improving and coming forward and he has to and this is all out of love okay he a classic explanation of what the is going to try
To do this is uh this is the existential uh Human Condition okay so now um there’s another uh short pie here okay so we’re going to read in the so we don’t know how Cen took these words of God but then it says that Cen addressed he his
Brother it was that they were in the field anden stood over he’s brother and he killed him so we can ask several questions on this verse it never says what he told him it says K spoke to he’s brother Kama and they were in the field
Why is that relevant and then it says the kind stood over he once again it says his brother it says his brother twice in the verse we know is why is it saying that when he killed them you know this is this is this is
This is heavy this is hard um but it doesn’t say what’s this mysterious thing that the p is reporting that he spoke to him but it doesn’t say what he said why is it significant to talk about that they were in the field and then it says
That he stood up that he overpowered him and it keeps on calling him his brother which is a strange thing to say when he’s not treating him with any fraternal love okay so this is is going to be a long discussion but there’s a short piece first before we address all the
Things okay here we go it is it is worthwhile to note it never says in the verse on the one hand it reports that there was a discussion but it doesn’t say what why bother telling me they had to talk if it doesn’t say what they
Said why do I have to know that he struck him and killed him in the field and therefore there is a saying from our sages so they’re bothered by why does the verse seem to say that they were in the field so it so there is one Kaz that
Say that they must have been fighting about the The Inheritance right the what this where this field or where some sort of property would go they were fighting over property and some say that is a reference to the like the verse says regarding it says in later at the end
Of elazar brings Sarah Rifka back to meet her new husband and it says was out talking in the field say he was praying there but but over there it’s a reference to somehow the mdash they understood that therefore they put it back on the S here that somehow and were
Talking their conversation was about the and there’s another third that says they were fighting about a woman like the verse in says referring to a particular case um where uh somebody finds a woman in the field and over there meaning somehow this is linked to the discussion that
They had regarding who would take uh a particular woman the and another and another question that when then the verse says once it tells us that there is a verse I mean there is a conversation but it doesn’t tell us what it is and then it mentions that they
Were in the field so maybe the field was what they were talking about and we talked about what those options are but then it says and he got up Ken stood over it doesn’t have to say he stood over him then he killed them because could have just said he killed him he
Killed his brother what’s this extra he stood up over him and are motivated by this question to say they said well it must have been that actually he started with Cen and he was over Cen and then Cen had to turn him over and stand up over him and then
He killed him so they they read into this the implication is that Ken was on the losing um he was on the receiving and in a physical struggle first and then he had to assert himself suggesting that started initiated physical that or that that he had overpowered him that
That he threw him down and that he had to get up and then that’s that’s how they read It in the Holy Z it says we’ve already mentioned how Ken somehow his root was in the sight of impurity and he was a manifestation of the sight of purity of Holiness here’s the point we also know from the book of that the fields and the deserts are
Natural domains or habitats for um the prevailing Spirit of impurity meaning the power of impurity is its natural domain in the physical world are places like fields and deserts not like the case of where you have humans dwelling any any sort of yesu of human Humanity where there’s a
Settling where people there there is less of there’s less of a hold and a ruler a rulership a power to the spirit of of impurity and God said toen that the and the the the dark side itself will always be Desiring of him the power of the evil
Inclination it was working really hard to use Ken as a host and cause him to sin because Ken was already susceptible because one sin drags another what was his sin his sin was when he had this bad um reaction and getting angry and fall and his face Falling by not being
Accepted meaning he turning that whole incident to a step away from God has been the context for for the past couple of pieces so basically K is in a bad State and God says you better get meaning the whole what led usually right if you ask a kid in school what’s the
Story of k h they’ll say k was a terrible person because he killed but that’s that’s not at all as an adult in a mature reading we see her that something critical had to happen to before that to make this happen because God already has a whole conversation
With him about don’t be a bad boy so we said that there was something terrible that happened in terms of his emotional response and what he allowed himself to think because of how God did not turn to his and God tried to correct them but we’re saying that that’s a sin yeah
Somehow that was enough given it was the equivalent of a sin giving enough to the dark side over him then now he’s being hounded and being pushed okay so he so and we we even know this the second time we note that he’s actually from the power of impurity which is kind of
Unfair it seems like he’s perfectly situated and poised to be overtaken by some sort of evil force well this is what’s bothering me about this is that you know uh we’re supposed to come into this world in a neutral place and um and that we you
Know we we we have the power to over come our which is what God saids to him right and yet it seems like he has inherent um disadvantage in being U born with the Kiper and yet it was still not a disadvantage it just shows that if he
Does surrender he’s capable of maybe a lot worse but here God meaning it’s very fascinating that with Biblical um paradigms that it’s almost like you with asov there I think that you can have the same discussion how can they be cautionary tales that well on the face of the narrative it feels like
They’re doomed for they have a destiny but in a way kind of the irony is that you who we’d like to imagine have a fair chance you don’t have those handicaps all their Journeys are still relevant to you somehow they’re still CAU tals to us whatever the is explaining how God is
Talking to he’s talking to us so is very useful yet how can so on the one hand I wouldn’t be so bothered for the sake mean you can ask for the sake of Cen the character how it may seem a fair you can ask the writer you know but but in terms
Of its relevance and how we have to understand it you know the relevance is that even if you are born with a handicap Hashem uh Engineers it that you can overcome that right right so I think the handicap is important here as part of the story because it’s the trigger of
Other things going on meaning there is first of all it’s remember the first time that we spoke about it it’s a stand in for God’s spiritual um refinement of Fallen World right it stood for the fact that there’s a filtering going on even in in Adam’s bloodline and yet even that
Individual himself Cen is not um he’s not pushed relegated to a destiny of of evil as we see right here so I would kind of isolate those elements in terms of the narrative in terms of the primal what they stand for meaning kind is still relevant to us
Inter as a sinner and the process of and fighting the this is a precautionary T to everybody whether you have that handicap or not and the and the point of that handicap will it’s going to come up in a second we’ll see where we take that but
The reason why we mentioned it before also I would like to say is a separate element which is also supposed to be encouraging like I pointed out the last time that the piece even the piece that said that Cen was kind of expelling just
The all the all the Z in the end the makes a point of saying that even he is totally rectified in the relationship between Moshe and is a huge sadic and I made a point before actually that that it’s like we say that God never lets any Soul uh he
Doesn’t give up till they’re totally whatever can be rectified is rectified so that element of the story should not disturb us right that’s that’s one point okay right um okay so the relevance of the field here has to do with some sort of conversation that P does not report and
Yet and he doesn’t explore it he doesn’t explain what any of those things are but it seems to be some sort of jealousy right and somehow right so so now we have a situation where the Zar is telling us that a field is particularly
Primed to be an antenna or uh to um to exacerbate right it it it it amplifies the hold of the dark side it’s a natural domain for the dark side and you have this character here who is already from the Dark Side God’s expecting a lot from it right it’s it’s
A tragedy waiting to happen Okay and then oh the other thought I have before I go any further is this is kind of this is a bigger idea uh let’s see if I could do it in a second but if you think of an random evolutionary process
Where all all possibilities have to come to one actual conclusion meaning go if God starts off Creation with all the potential and in the end we have to get to something very very specific so there’s a constant there there are the further back you go in earlier stages you’ll have let’s
Say if if reality is a story of of us getting to a more and more particular reality because the sustainability and viability of a particular reality is the only thing that can be true and and and and be viable in God’s world I’m trying
To I’m I’m sorry just bear with me for a second till I find the words okay um it seems to me what I have this picture in my head now of of an idea where you have a funneling of all possibilities till we get to where reality is supposed to be
And what only the what is is ultimately just what’s viable like we said the difference between and is something that will truly exist as an level of Eternity that it’s real and she whatever reality is it has is only temporal fing it doesn’t have reality to it right it
Doesn’t last so it for reality to get to where it needs to it kind of it plays through all possibilities till there it’s God’s reality and it’s meant it’s designed to achieve toen hasl and goodness but it goes through so many things first meaning all possibilities that eventually get lost so meaning
Maybe it’s very very possible that you could have even at this early formative stage of of creation of reality of of the human story of God’s world um you can have a situation where what is it like to have a c me as an like um okay there’s a I’m
Gonna end with this there’s a there is maybe we’ll pick this up another time there is a famous that says that he creates worlds and destroys them are you familiar with that you ever hear that before yes that there’s some sort of process before God God got to our
Reality it had to go through so many unsustainable nonviable realities and somehow that that’s cooked into this that’s part of the process of getting to this so that meaning there’s all everything that doesn’t work happens before you get to what works and the reason why it works is because
Everything else doesn’t work um and with without going too further I feel like uh I don’t want to drag you around with my I feel like What’s Happening Here with cayen and he is part of that also somehow in a deeper way is that part of that filtering process and refinement
Process and and and the questions that I would have about the fairness and the conditions of cen’s reality kind of for some reason I’m going to that place and seeing it as just a natural kind of organic process I I I’m G to leave it at that for the time
Being because these are bigger things to discuss maybe when there’s more time okay so now Cen who’s from the dark side is hanging out in the field which is uh a dark place okay and it says like this you know the word Amir in in in Bible talk you have generally you have
Two types of verbs or categories of speech you have Amir and you have debor Amir is seen as a soft kind of language whereas debor is a hard language when we say debor as a hard language we mean instruction or stating an imperative harsh an imposition of reality it
Doesn’t have to be violent but dbor means like God is saying how it is is more like say when it says to use am means to you’re you’re you’re bringing someone close with words okay so Amir is a soft version of communication where it’s not meant to make somebody defensive but it actually
Brings up on board okay so he’s noting here that the says whatever was saying to he they were said in a language of camaraderie of connection as we know is the nature of the the the word am am always refers to a language of closeness so so he told him everything
That God had said tells everything about it sorry right the ver says when it says it’s a language of of closeness as is the nature of the what we refer to when we call it he told him he reported to him everything God had said and all this was in order to be
Friends to be a brother at of fraternity and loving Brotherhood and that’s why the verse says indeed he told his brother right that moment he was ruling over his and he made it he made a step forward however afterwards the second they were in the field all of a
Sudden that’s where the power of the dark side resides as then as a result of thaten who himself comes from the Dark Side stood up meaning there was some sort of energy level of Cen that that asserted itself come he got up and he in he he heightened himself over the
Holiness that his that in that place in the field his inclination was awakened sat that is the Satan that’s the evil inclination from that side and that’s when he killed him over he killed he over his jealousy and it was all on the jealousy not of whatever kazal is saying the
Field might mean but on the fact that God turned to his to he’s not his so now we’re getting into problematic territory now you could ask start asking meaning you could have asked the question before now that it seems that here he’s even he made is saying he made an effort and it
Was only because of circumstance unwittingly they were in a field and now he’s taken over as the host of the Satan I mean what a terrible story well this this taken over is is is mirrored at Egle it’s mirrored with snake it seems like that’s my problem it just happened it just happened
So unfair you know you see this whole story until now I could say this is a story of a evil malignant spiritual force that jumped into a living creature from that got to jump into a human destroyed all of humanity meaning it’s it’s really the story until now and it
Seems almost we’re not Christians but it seemed all God wanted was a beautiful world yeah and thear is doing everything to destroy it and at any point he could pull the plug right he really he could say there’s a limit to how much the can
Do I don’t like what but so far it’s like what there’s an infestation that keeps on getting worse and and it’s and in a way Kenne the way we are telling the story here it seems that in a way Cen is unwitting it’s he’s not a bad guy he’s
Got everything against him being a bad guy so let’s see where this goes right fascinating okay so we pause there yeah that that’s the end of this piece but we’re going to pick we’re the next piece talks about a little bit more in the conversation okay see what he says we’re
Off what you’re off uh we we we’re going to go record in a second but we’re online you know I’m sorry did you want to say something I was going to say something I I’ll wait until after you done okay I I an important point I maybe
I just I wanted to say something because one on Sunday uh you asked me about psychedelics about psychedelics oh yeah and um really really what I wanted to say then which is on point here with Cen because I didn’t maybe you you wanted to facilitate a conversation in a different
Way but I I took it a very short whatever I I I couldn’t address it the way I would have liked to I didn’t feel in in that kind of say but I do want to say the point that I wanted that I did try to make which um is that the imag
Ination if you think about it the human imagination is is a place where on the one hand where does God talk to you where does your relationship with God occur in your imagination that’s where he talks to you right and and also we talked about prophecy a lot yesterday
Yeah right where where does where does God talk to in your imagination and yet where does the devil hang out with you in the imagination right so here’s the problem the problem was the imagination was meant to be place it is the receiver for God’s word and after the eating from
The your mind itself inside that place was corrupted because now you have the K are hanging out there so for example the the ram will say that the only way to achieve a state where you’re capable of n where God has to use that um both the
The hardware and the software in order to get the message across you have to clean it out totally so you know that what to be able to receive and also that you’re not I mean the gamar says a person just on the level of dreams you can have all kinds of dreams sometimes
Somebody is talking to you and sometimes somebody’s not you’re talking to yourself and sometimes even when somebody’s talking to you it’s entities you don’t want to talk to you and you don’t even know so so how do I know now I’ve been corrupted inside it’s not a safe place and I’m looking to
Aspire to the Beyond so so what I wanted to see just as a context therefore to try to as an activity to try to connect to God or to try to be a receiver through these experiences which also occur in the mind it’s not just physiological the whole point is altered
State which is how you interpret your reality that is something you have to know that if you’re going to embark on that you have to deal with this essential issue first and whatever you glean from there how do you know if it’s good how do you know if it’s bad how do
You know if it’s real how do you know if it’s not so you’re running a tremendous risk and that I that was the point I tried to make before as a backdrop to any real discussion of the the pros the cons how one could use it how not but
Since I that wasn’t the formula I could get into that I wanted to make that point and I really didn’t do it and that’s why I wanted to say what I’m saying now thank you I appreciate that all right perhaps yes okay okay so maybe to finally finally
Finally because we always do like a couple lines and we’ve been we’ve been for the past at least two times that we’ve tried to finish this we’ve still been staring down two small paragraphs okay so let’s see we are um in the on the first in this book The firstan
And uh we talked about how um how destructive the impact the calculated impact of aik’s Engagement with am was before not on the level of a military engagement but really rather as to destroy their morale to encourage and bolster the ability of the nations of the world to reject the impact of God
Coming back right to cool everybody down that was the word they cooled down the jacuzzi right okay so so that we um we associated with this idea we’ve been developing of an understanding of the of mockery what in the Torah we Callan and how mockery cannot be rectified only
Utterly destroyed and the rectification happens to those who witness that’s what we’ve been talking about all just so we can explain the uh the prophecy of bam harha who says that since since is the first of nations in they will not have a rectification right so we tried to
Understand what this rati what do mean the first and we said it can’t just mean that they were terms of a sequence of events they were the first to ever give am a hard time but rather that the because there was a first because they did what they did that actually affected
Everything else in a terrible way okay so now okay let’s oh yeah the last point we made which is just is a marvelous point it goes back to so many things we always talking about that’s that the introduction we said that Amel is pitted against amalik as diametrically opposed
Spiritual forces that if we want to talk in this in the context of what we’ve been stating here about moery Etc the power of amalik is a force in the world to destroy the world through to degrade things by robbing reality of any sort of importance okay whereas is all about
What we said the of Praise by recognizing God by enforcing by finding Ways by supporting and bolstering where importance is truly important and we talked about it that’s tied in this idea of Praise meaning the ability to give praise is really built on the idea of an
Awareness of God and schlomo said that we’re really Dot and we talked about that we talked about being the the Inception the creation of the Jewish people which the AR says is dot that do was in G itself and we talked about PES being the talking mouth P that’s the articulation the
Of a recognition of God right so that was the last points we made um okay that the the very essence of the um of amalik is the uprooting of the power of of re rebuke from the soul we talked about how we have amik inside of us and there is a
Knee-jerk response a reflex you know to um to push off any demand for us to change our ways and indeed this ends up becoming that the Torah explains the problem with as it’s not that he sold his Birthright it’s that he denigrated it the Torah reports it says he made it
It wasn’t what that he sold it it’s that his attitude was that it was not important what was that Birthright to be the priests of the of of humanity to God that is to say he made fun of that it was not important to him in in
Life when the Proverbs when we say to strike the mocker that’s okay and that is what the Torah is revealing to us when it reports regarding am that its end is total Annihilation even though in the end of days after comes it will be an era that all the nations of the world
Will have some sort of rectification in some way they will be integrated and included in a final vision of humanity that’s meant to fulfill its purpose with God nevertheless does not have a seat at the table since in the era of the end of days there is no room for anything which
Has not been rectified therefore it turns out that when you want to talk about the total obliteration of you talk about the end when they’re not there it’s just a fact every rebuttal every I’m sorry every rebuke every word of Correction it is um an appeal to fix that which has been um
Uh messed up and therefore every um destructive anything that’s uh messed up that’s that’s not the way it should be that’s ruined a no matter how bad it is any aspect of reality that’s messed up that does not have a a um a repelling a need to repel
Correction he’s got hope mean you’re good you’re the amount of Destruction that this particular aspect of reality has experienced is not the is not what determines whether it can get better or not the fact that something’s messed up that’s okay it has hope as long as it’s willing to listen
To correction but if inherently inside of it has no inability it it pushes away any sort of appeal to um uh to self-improve then it’s lost that’s the critical thing so here Amal this is just another way of bringing out howal cannot have any T by definition because the one thing bugging them
Doesn’t allow them it’s the anti-un it’s the anti correct yourself issue that they have okay there is hope there is hope that it can be rectified but some sort of terrible flaw like this that its very essence it is the uprooting of any Force for improvement obviously it’s not going to have any
Hope to enter at all in the rectification and it is well understood specifically the era of the final rectification he he only then truly can there be a loss of amalik that means he’s going to last till then but in the end his end which is the end he will be totally
Destroyed the power of mockery of aik is hidden in the cooling of the of the bathtub since he was the what he means to say is the reveal that the power ofik is specifically that’s that’s explained to us in the in the description of the cooling of the
Btub since he was the first to battle and that’s this is basically what we’re reading right now is just a restatement and a packaging altoe of everything we talked about he’s bringing the end with the beginning he’s saying that um the the prophecy of that has right it’s he’s explaining them now
In the context of everything we talked about about mockery okay that’s the explanation of the continuation of the verse the beginning the the first of all Nations to um to to object to is is and his end which will only be at the very end of time is total Destruction because the
Only things that will be present then will be things that have received their rectification their this appellation of is really you have to see it as a description of what they’re all about not what they did but what they’re all about meaning the significance here is
That they rush to be in order to Rob of their significance not because of the it wasn’t about the military engagement itself and therefore because that is their status they have no end they they have no standing at the end okay so in at the end of the sh is where
The Torah tells us where when amalik first appears and it says that they came and they fought with Israel in a place called we call it that they loosened their hands they let go of the Torah over there and there’s a very very interesting Insight here you ever hear the
Term what does B mean think yeah it’s actively actively um right but is like the opposite of means to establish something is to like uh make it like it’s not there to get rid of it right so it’s it seems a little it’s funny we never it sounds
Seems a little harsh any minute that I’m not learning Torah I’m actively uprooting the Torah no I’m not learning Torah what I’m I’m Torah being Torah any minute that I don’t learn Torah meaning the opposite of learning Torah is it should be not learning T it shouldn’t be to be that’s a little
Strong right that’s how we talk about when you could learn and you don’t you’re being Tor it’s like the Torah already exists somehow and you’re you’re destroying it as okay here in the case of the with we find a new phrase means to let go the hands meaning
The hands should be holding on in a Vigilant way and they let go so so Torah here now it’s not that you’re being it’s that also Tor needs to be held tightly and the second you let go right something terrible happens so what is this letting
Go what is this new phraseology what is this coming to tell us when you have let’s say something that is very fragile or requires extreme attention to maintain it when you’re holding it so the second you avert attention active attention from that Active Energy it’s lost right so Torah
Somehow is the of thing that you need to be holding you’re holding and it needs to have some sort of vigilant hold and the second you let go of it it’s some sort of of destructive act I’ll read it again have said the lack of recognizing the
Importance of something is the idea is is meaning something that’s I’m sorry the recognition of the importance of a thing is the same thing as saying what’s important things that you need to be involved in mean one level uh when we talk about the recognition of importance that is the abstraction that
You’re taking you’re accepting that there’s something important in the world but that demands then your involvement your involvement the way we say your involvement is to get your hands involved right so we’re we’re talking about this aspect now where your hands need to be involved so so means that your hands aren’t
Involved with something that you recognize to be important that’s the idea mean something that you’ve already established to be important it demands the the interaction of your is when you that where you’re not engaging in that in the way that you know you should okay P once again the explanation of
This idea of the words letting go of the hands this means have said a loss of the recognition of importance of an of a thing that the hands need to be involved with okay when somebody loses track of the importance of his involvement of this Enterprise he’s basically he’s
Relinquishing he’s letting things slip through his fingers as we would say in English right okay so specifically regarding in the context of this idea where is all about the destruction of any sort of structure of importance of recognition of importance so he’s saying that there’s the turned to this idea of because they’re
Saying there was an attendent that allowed for a force whose whole Essence is the destruction of importance to follow so if you something that’s really like hold the baby hold the baby hold the baby don’t let go right you’re carrying a baby you know right you don’t you’re not
Involved anymore you get lazy with what you know about how to care for the baby right so now the attack on well who said the baby’s important if you’re not acting like the baby’s important okay so now there’s going to be there’s an attack on the
Baby that’s what it seems to be meaning open the Door the whole the story of over here the destruction of those structures of importance in reality that’s where we find this golden language of the where they read into this name um okay by the way that’s that’s an explanation we we started off we said there’s something called that’s the idea because something
That you know is important and you could be engaged in it and you don’t you’re basically that’s starting this whole process that’s the equivalent that’s the that ends up destroying the Tor okay the students of Torah that enter into the words of Torah of words of uh
Of of expansive knowledge of God and the obligations on our hearts that that demands those people who I’m talking to says you have to know the whole mitvah of remembering that which did to us so to be engaged in the Mitzvah true fulfillment of the Mitzvah of the story
Of amalik mean means it obligates one to have a higher acceptance and a recognition of the importance of being involved in Tor not having mean the everything we said here one of the basic most um practical ways that that applies to us being involved in the Battle of am and remembering what
It did it’s for us to bolster that holding of the T not to to constantly find ways to um to be in a situation of strengthening the hands when it comes to and what does it mean to strengthen your hands in regards to Torah you know what that means don’t
Ever let that fiery passion in your heart cool down that all that fiery passion that flows forth from the recognition of the awesomeness of the importance of Torah and the and the mightiness of her dignity and honor yes at what stage did am’s faith become non when they according to billum it’s
The fact that they attacked right then and there so are saying that before they attack they had that’s what the P says the P says that they have no tiun because of the fact that they’re RIT and that’s the event of ofik at the end of B and because that ultimately destroyed
The world even if amiso got rid of them then or they militarily they were they were okay they never won am always is still winning and why is it that has to be around till the very end because the only the only thing that that that can destroy it is ushering in
TI you know the says reports that there’s going to be a that’s before bam said what he said the BK already said that it’s inevitable we’ll be battling me the whole story to get to the end can be contextualized as a battle with amik oh because said
That’s the whole that’s the whole M that we did we’re going to take ideas of a step further soon in the next M which is really lovely the gar there’s deep t i could I could spend an hour explaining that to you the gamar says you know what vums um
Just Desserts are in the you know the garon yeah nasty right he’s boiling in a hot pot of is UN do you know why the says that he said how can you say God is involved in the world and that he says how could you say that God’s
Involved in the world and that he says on each sperm who’s going to be a he knows who’s gonna be who’s gonna be Russia when the whole nature of sexual reproduction and biology is random if there was only one sperm out of who knows how many right more than a million
Millions maybe right that gets an egg then why do you have to lose 99% all the time if God made a perfect world why is there wastage how can you tell me that God’s involved you see that yes there’s a God but in the level of reality down
Here everything’s random that is the lesson that he taught Amal b as the re of amalik amalik says mikra mikra is happen stance it’s the same word is carry which means seminal issue okay the whole idea is don’t tell me that God’s involved in the world because there
Random yes that’s the poor of ham the L Etc these are deep themes but bam is seen as a spiritual progenitor the the Reby the dark wizard who taught amalik so there there’s there’s by the way it’ be fun to talk about the gamar who else it reports uh the the gamar I’m
Referring to is uncus is looking to be M to convert so he consults a necromancer to bring back the spirits of famous enemies of Israel who are now in the real world to tell them if it’s worthwhile and the punch line of the gamar is they all tell them don’t do it
Even though they’re suffering the most horrendous uh so the gar says a Russia even in the end he’s still like he can’t help it he’s still going to tell you a lie but anyway it says that who else is there sh do you remember would you rather yeah and what’s his what’s what’s
His uh what’s his punishment he’s another type of hot he’s boiling in a hot pot of his own excrement oh why come on what’s the one thing if you claim you’re God what’s the one thing you got to convince everybody of what did parro do every morning claim God believe himself right
The joke is you want to make a God out of a human his whole his whole Legacy is just living in his own bi biologic meaning the animal part of meaning he’s yeah don’t and it looks like sh’s getting desperate to give clock so this has been a lot of
Fun thank you there’s always there’s always more fun stuff to talk about thank you and who was the other one it was his uncle right who said yes Well Yeshua Rashi brings him as Yeshua really where in um he doesn’t have an ey it was called Yeshua right his name was Yeshua who me it’s not necessarily yeshu it’s not that hisorical yesu is a short version of his name we do refer to that
Guy try to tell you no my told me it’s not that historical figure it’s a different guy and when we have guys like that we call him yeshu because it stands for that’s what I was also true I think there there’s also a guy called Yeshua that’s that’s spoken about where where
Is that I have to find it it could be could be just uh in the like the mean I forgot says but there lot serious Scholars they say that there it’s not conclusive at all that that this character that we’re talking about is that the people well the one the one
Of of the story withus or the one in the gor in right that’s there that’s where they say it’s not him because they was earlier on doesn’t fit with the timel but there’s different Garis that doesn’t have to be the same person I don’t know
Could I don’t know I never studied it at I just assume there was some guy who claimed Divinity or that they CLA Divinity on them and that’s that is the the that’s all significance of that punal I never saw I don’t remember seeing the I don’t think Jesus necessarily claimed Divinity in his
Lifetime he was he was kind of just trying to change things we don’t care about that because we we put it all on him we hit him just whatever could even the Jews began that later on claim like that that that Peter was sent and shim
One that’s heot right so what he he made this p means sh so they I think they say that that he was the one that changed it all until then it was more like another version of judism was basically reform re JM broke off and they didn’t
Want he’s the one that said you don’t he changed the Mahal of him being a savior and a Lord and where the sign oh we were we were rushing we we we’re slepping here we’re sleeping okay thank you yeah bar was able to get some people
To donate on my page that was very nice very good well done yeah we’ve actually got another fundraiser for othera that we teach in in marar you know sh they’re doing fundra next week so we’ll see we’ll come through twice oh yeah good morning everyone so here we’re here learning ramal today
So so um actually don’t get your book because I’m just about to say that we’re not going to learn oh going to learn first things first we’re not going to learn and then whatever we learn is a bonus So today we’re not going to continue inside in in the 130 wisdom’s
Openings of wisdom because um I want the where we’re up to in the openings of wisdom is very connected to um to the time we’re in h both purm wise and historically in our time so I actually thought we’d learn a different a different sa Ral today um
Called his letter oops his letter that he writes against the saans against the followers of shab it’s called it’s like the fighting against those who misunderstood the cabala and he’s got lots of interesting ideas that he elaborates there and a big part of it is the concept of um all the things that
That that shab did that he claimed were were cabalistic truths that needed to happen in order to bring mashia one of the things is that he he said that you don’t need to do certain Mitzvah or no Mitzvah and he and he married a Muslim Muslim woman right and all these things
Are connected also to puim with regards to Esther being married to nonu and different things like that so um so this is where he goes he goes into General cabalistic discussions so in this saer here he has a very interesting piece that was really the same thing that
We’ve been learning in the openings just in a different slightly different language and more approachable so I want to read out from here and we’ll get into the the PM discussion through that so he says as follows this a very thing which we touched on last time so just to
Summarize we learned last time was the idea that there’s this SPH called Mal and and Mal is the only spher that has nothing to offer of its own its only purpose is to um to reveal to the Creations what Hashem wants to reveal and because the above don’t have form or
Orras not graspable because they’re just simple and and and and and and part of the infinite that is revealed the m is really that point of interaction the point where where hasem makes his ways known through this concept of Mal and this is what this is what the the is
Goingon to explain here in a slightly different angle so he says as follows the main the first thing the first way of acting that hasem wants to have in the world which is really to summarize the entire relationship hem has with the creation is is the connection the the the Divine
Providence the fact that he’s involved and and cares about the the creations and this is what’s called the right the is really another word for Mal and is is is so to speak the the the place where the creation and the Creator um come come together and it’s what’s called The Secret of
Tor talks about this a lot which is one the basic principle of of which is the point the interaction and the and the the the influence that the Creations have on their relationship with the Creator and and and meaning on the level of how much is going to be
Revealed in the world now is going to make sure we know that our actions never affect the itself the itself as it is in its in its lofty place is is is Untouchable nobody can nobody can actually affect theem right when you have kid that’s angry at God he’s like
I’m going to put light on and off on Shabbat like like you can’t actually right it’s not it’s not affecting him and one’s big points that we can’t um we know theem is is beyond everything but what we can affect is how much the will be revealed to us on the receiving
End of things so so so he says as follows this is this is what we spoke about last time where all of hashem’s interactions with the world fit into one of three categories the right left or or Center and all of these three interactions are are coming through the Mal the Mal
Is the place where hasem so to speak receives um feedback from us how we want how we’re reacting to his world and that’s how he then reacts back so the Mal is is kind of the wording of of RA is that that the’s job is to be aware of
People’s actions and to be aware of how the world is is is taking is taking into account the fact that they’re creations of the Creator and how much they’re aware of in their lives and and the receives the is there so to speak to be affected to be awakened to be aroused in
Whichever ever way we choose to act and whichever way we choose to receive the creation and the way we we receive it and act with it is is the Mal is that place of interaction where what we do makes a difference and then the Mal also has another job to then give forward
Hashem’s reaction reaction to our actions so now what is how is the reacting the doesn’t have its own powers to react but it’s giving forward the all and the multiple combinations of which could which every scenario involves a little bit of a little bit of
And and a little bit of and depending on what on What on how has wants to act right now there’s also the overall what what’s the most um predominant energy and then there’s also each individual within this situation like for example during the Holocaust very D time but
There was also acts of you know the people that survive right in every scenario there also little and this is where there’s the multiple Myriad of of of which R says really all comes down to 613 in the end it become three that becomes 10 the 10 spod and then the
Multiple combinations ultimately fit into a 613 overall um wholesome um K of of a of a human so to speak figure and and this is basically the the way of of God’s God revealing himself with all the all of the different variations so now um so here comes a very interesting
Thing about how we could um so to speak cause the to to go into galut right what what is galut galut is when there’s a separation between the hashem’s version of of reality and the and the Creations version right the Creations are saying we don’t want to acknowledge that the life flow coming
Through us is intended for to reveal Hashem to reveal the the the life the source of the life rather we’re given the choice right to to take it in on our individual level to take it wherever we want to take it and when the Jewish people do that then we’re basically choose
Choosing to to not do what Jewish people are supposed to be doing we’re good at one thing we’re good at revealing hm’s Mal in the world and when we don’t end up doing that hashem’s like okay there’s better people that are better there’s people better at doing what you’re doing
Right now for example the the the Babylonians or the Persians they’re better at concealing hashem’s name in the world the Jews are not so good at that so hashem’s like if you’re going down that path if you’re choosing to conceal my Mal I’m going to give you I’m
Going to make so basically what you what we’re doing is when when Jew sin is we’re giving strength to the concept of of which what’s the it’s the of it’s the interaction with with the world that that denies that is is not interested in the fact that it’s part of the hashem’s
Bigger world all it does is is itself itself self self- centered and the sit wants to just do what it wants to do without taking into context the fact that it’s that it’s that it’s receiv receiving from Hashem so once we act like that we’re basically giving
Strength to this way of governing and that gives a reaction of galut where hasem says okay I’m GNA let you be I’m GNA let someone else be do that job and and and you Bas we’ basically made these Kings which is like known as the four Mal we have the
Mal yavan and aded which is Babylonia Persia the Greeks and the Romans and those four kingdoms are basically the four antithesis antitheses to um to the Mal so really this is represented by um by Amal because Amal really is the antithesis of the Jewish people as Kan
Spoke about now that Amal is when did Amal come into history it’s a very interesting thing when the world was created there was no Amal when did Amal come into the picture when the the snake the Nash um um it says the Nash was able to to um to give zoh to so
Again this is something the M says that he he he had relations with her and gave her impurity and all this is all what all the the calist and and Rabbi said obviously it’s not something you could take literally but there’s a certain aspect where the negative forces were
Kind of injected their negativity into humanity and that human that is represented by Amal Amal is the energy that exists within Humanity that has in it a a a opposing to Hashem and this is also known as the the Clipper of of ARA the for skin
Of the forkin of a of a of a of a Jewish male which the forkin is basically the blockage between the giver and the receiver so so that for skin is basically is is is is symbolizing the fact that we don’t want to be we don’t
Want to be aware that all the shef receiving is from Hashem which would be the the intimate connection between the giver which is the male giving to the female so we’re as receivers are saying I kind of want to block that blinding light of oh that’s too intense for me to
Know this truth and it’s kind of concealing it so that the Amal is this place is this energy of of of not wanting to be in that place where where I’m just I’m just passively um um connected to to hashem’s will and I’m not looking to to to take it to a place
Where where I’m I’m benefiting it from myself alterior motives or or whatever it may be and it can even be on on a small scale like where a person like has a certain connection to hasem he’s feeling and he wants to like kind of like analyze it or understand things
Instead of just like being simple being uh being uh connected on a simple level without getting the getting the head involved too much so that can also be a certain anything that basically blocks that that that flow of a of a of a of a
Jew or of a soul just just acting in the world on on a on a on a non non egos egos ego awareness level that’s that that’s the idea of am and this is really what started as it says in the midash that when adaman sinned when he ate from
The it’s said that it says that he was he was born circumcised but he he he he basically wanted to UNC circumcise himself this what the med says and this is essentially is basically idea that he he created this um he he was created this this sin created this blockage
Which later on was actually personified in the grandson of asav and the grandson of Asa ASA himself wasn’t Amal he was ASA which is the left side of the of and now two two generations later alah’s son he already fell into he basically represented the actual the negative energy
Itself of of this of this separation of of of of the the energy that that doesn’t want aem’s Mal to be revealed in the world now so we see this energy happening throughout puin where the Jewish people exiled from from Israel now Israel is is is connected to the energy of Mal why
Because ER Israel is the place in the world where it’s hashem’s home right and we know like my house my rules so the and Isel specifically bet mikash and even more specifically KES kashim is basically hashem’s Empire where he has like a big Courtyard and then he has
Where that’s ER Israel in general where everything that grows here is Holy and and this this rules of who’s allowed to live here and how we’re supposed to live here and then mdash is really H’s like in a chamber is’s you know the bedroom where is like the most where it says that
There was no space in time right the Aron didn’t take any space so that hashem’s rules there’s no space and time so the the energy of is where is able to be revealed and it’s kind of above the above the rest of the world it’s it’s where where is is
Revealing himself self comfortably with as he is not being challenged by by any other forces and and we know for example the the Jewish King was a very unique King he wasn’t a king that was all about his own dictatorship and self-interest as the Jewish King was supposed to be obviously there was
Eventually corruption which led to the destruction of bet mikdash but David he was a king that really cared about the people and he was involved intimately with with the people and he didn’t have a glamorous life at all he suffered a lot which is also representative of the
Kind of trying to make its place in this world and is always suffering because end of the day the the world is is is always ending up being a place where the is not not to be made comfortable but in Isel the concept of it and the way it
Was for at least short time history or sometime history was the place where is Comfortably manifested and eventually when that when that Mal ended is when the BET mikash was destroyed and this plan so to speak of where the Jewish people are going to take this mission in their own hands of
Revealing Hashem in the world that mission failed right destruction of the temple was basically saying hashem’s like I gave you a mission I took you out of Egypt with great Earth shattering miracles to show that I’m in charge it was your job to then bring this truth
Down into the world and create a state with a kingship that actually reveals that and that was going to be this most beautiful intimate reality in this world but Mission failed and hasem gave us a long time to a lot of chances and eventually we ran out of lives and B MIT
Was destroyed so this is where we’re holding in the time of puim where we at the end of the 70 years now because there was a prophecy of 70 years so there was this apprehension that okay the Jewish people have definitely been sent into the corner that’s for sure like they’re being
Punished they’re not living up to the to the standards that they’re supposed to be and and and in a way the whole world knew that the Jewish people’s connection to Hashem is based on this Mission they were taken out for this Mission So in theory if they fail the mission then the
Contracts void and that’s it so that’s what hamon’s suggestion to was you know that they failed their mission 70 years have passed and they’re not gone even already it says the G believe says that he believed of the third year of his kingdom that the 70 years has
Passed and this was already after bat made a mistake 10 years earlier so everyone was sure that the Jews are lost the Jews themselves were believe that their mission is over and they have nothing to offer to Hashem anymore because there was this very like we said there’s this
Strong feeling that to be a Jew means to to live up to expectation of of revealing Hashem and what does Hashem need from me if I didn’t do that what can I offer to him now and so there was a certain hopelessness to the Jews themselves and to Haman which is this
Amal where it’s like okay the Jews are not revealing Hashem anymore so he comes and has the right to to Really Express his his his mission of blocking hashem’s Mal from being in the world so now we have hamon being we have V who’s just in general a
A you know pleasure seeking King that wants to have power and he knows that his power is is is dependent on the Jews having the Mal that’s why for him the BET mikash was the worst thing that could happen because it says that he already he already he was the one there
Lots of different M about this but M MIM say that Ham’s son it’s called shimi he was the one that told a to to to stop the building of the bet mikdash that began with KES so these people this is like the T on the first pass of M these
People were were were very intimately involved in this spiritual journey of being being revealed or being concealed and as we know built this big Throne as a replica of shom’s Throne that he wasn’t he wasn’t able to sit on on a spiritual level at least or also
They had this magical stuff they talk about and r um teacher come student rad Val talks about how he talks about how um sorry he talks about how this is really wanting to to replicate Mal and take over he saw he really saw himself on a spiritual level as actually taking over
And and and making it making it impossible for to happen because now he’s in charge so there was this very strong feeling in the Jewish people and Ham’s mind that is now a lost cause is only in this world through the Jews if the Jews are lost cause then the
Shem are lost cause so who’s the king now I’m the king now so no nobody can stop me and let’s do this right so this was a this was a very interesting um situation and the fact that the Jews lost hope and they they went to this party which
Symbolized the the the end of the Jewish people symbolized that he was wearing you know the kodil clothes symbolized the end of the Jewish people’s hope and they kind of by just by going there they knowledge that okay we’re over we now just have to be playing nice with the
Persian Empire because otherwise what else do we have so everyone was literally dejected and had no hope and that is obviously everyone besides Hama besides sorry besides morai so I must be drunk already so M he was the only one that really had hope why because he knew as
Aad knows because aad is M and aad has this connection to the he has a connection to Hashem he doesn’t have the for skin in the the way so hamon everyone bowed to ham besides M why because M thead that he doesn’t he doesn’t get overwhelmed by these people
He he’s he stays strong in the face of these people that try to block hem because he knows that hem is here in every situation and he knows that behind all of this bureaucracy and all these big palaces and kingship and and and seals of the king is all hasem he wanted
This he wanted the people to know this right that was that was his mission so he that was his mission for the people to really to believe and to pray and to kind of almost find a new identity with God where where even though I don’t have much to
Offer but let’s still let’s still love each other for no reason and this is something that’s called in in in the mishna there’s something called and and Pinkus um in one of his talks connects this to to p and he says that when when the beginning of the Jewish
People the first chapter of Jewish history was took us out of Egypt because he had a purpose he had something he had something he wanted from us so it was almost conditional love right and it says he took us out of Egypt like a young man man in battle why because a
Young man you know you become an adult you’re like oh I’m going to change the world I’m going to conquer the world I’m going to I’m going to do things and Achieve things as you get older you start getting whiter hairs you start raising the white flag and you start
Realizing that okay I might not achieve those things that I thought I’ll achieve but um you know what still life’s still worth living and you find more meaning in a way more meaningful things because it’s not about things anymore it’s about life itself so not was revealed on this
Love where hem is now connected to his people with with with with a failed Mission and and that’s what was a very powerful thing where we say that Hamman knew that he’s able to defeat the Jewish people because you knew that mosha died you knew that mosha died you didn’t know
That mhha was born as well so what does that mean mha died he was born he was born before he died he was born then he dies right this is what the far say that Masha died means the history the period of mhha dies that’s the end of the first
Temple Nim prophecy all these things are Masha he’s like Masha died now what you didn’t know that mha was born that there’s a new version of Torah which the gar says now is destroyed we have the four where a person can learn Torah and connect to hasem on our level and as Ral
Says that nowadays we don’t have prophecy but we could still connect to hm and know Hashem with the remnants of Prophecy with the of of Torah which is a very deep level which isn’t glitzy and glamory it’s not on the world stage on the world stage it says we don’t
Say because we’re still slaves of we can’t say really because on on a global stage the Jewish people are are subjugated under we don’t have a kingdom we don’t have we don’t have a Independence at least on completely at least we didn’t have then and that is
And that is the the message of P which is really considered in the gar the end of all Nim because it’s the Oneness that helps us go through the galut it helps us go through the galut that we could know that even though even though we have nothing to
Offer to Hashem really so now we kind of see this as as a given obviously hasm loves us even though we don’t have a m we have prophecy we don’t have have anything but obviously has loves Jews back then this was and this was something that that was that that that
That’s the crazy Sim where where a a a a a relationship that began with a mission the relationship that began seemingly only for a certain purpose was now renewed even if there’s no purpose renewed on a more intimate unconditional love level and that is what’s known in
The in the Milla as the Jews re accepted the Torah with love because they realized that the Torah isn’t something it’s not contractual it’s not something that we need to be that needs to be done and we’ have been chosen obviously chosen beautiful but we’ve been chosen
To do something for him now it becomes just to be for him and and to be connected and and and therefore the Torah became more personal and and this is the this is really the story of of the of the of the Milla where we see where where the where
The rabbis tell us that every time it says in the if it says we know it’s talking about it says just it means Hashem right and otherwise there’s no hashem’s name in the Milla why because it’s it’s a type of like we all know it’s a type of it’s a type of
Connection to asem that he’s not being revealed we’re not revealing him he’s not revealing himself to us on on on on a revealed level but if we look if we look closely and if we’re able to to have the eye of what the is trying to
Teach us the eye where we see that everything happening in the world throughout history is the Mel just acting through certain governments through certain wild kazaks or Crusaders or Kamas Niks it’s not it’s not it’s not them they don’t they don’t even know that they think they’ve got all kinds of
Plans figured out and goes into cabalistic explanations how really this is really the their demise when they try to fight with the Jewish people what happens is that we win them in the end we take whatever they did have any good energy and we take it back
And and we look interesting I was just reading yesterday point point this out in the Milla you have the Milla here probably right yeah in the Milla it says when when um when when H got to write the letters it says the king took his ring
Off of his finger and he gave it to hon and the the scribes of the king listen did everything hamon told them to do and they wrote it in the Name of the King a and signed with the with the Ring of the king the signate Ring of the king so
The only time in this whole story of the decree the whole describing how the decree was given it’s only mentioned once the king of all the other times it’s the king where where is mentioned the king says it was in his name but it was just the
Front like the whole the name is not the thing itself the name is the Mal as we say in so the was concealed was concealed and and the front it was kind of hidden by the Mal of theer by in this case so what looked like to the outside
Was is the king he rules over the whole whole civilized World he’s able to kill whoever wants but that’s just the name who’s actually giving this decree was hem andm this is wasem acting in the level of din order in order toake awaken the Jews to DOA so so really this is the
Whole Milla is kind of is giving this this idea there’s very few places in the Milla where actually says and and it’s very interesting to know when when those times are to realize like which part of the of the actual story was was was just like the
Outer layer of it and how much of it was actually Hashem talking to us and hasm revealing himself to us in a way where the Mal isn’t revealed where the Mal is is in gut and this is also really the The Secret of Esther going in Esther
Being the being taken to the to and being forced to be to be with him which is also the the the concept of the going into G going into the being being captive so to speak as at the um hands of of these of these forces so I think that’s basically it I
Think that’s uh well you think the is a is a is a medium to connect god with people right yeah so so meaning it’s the medium in a way Mal in general is the medium of of how the the world or the or the creation um interacts with the Creator
So there Mal of Kusha which is where the creation is is aware that everything it has is not its own everything has is from the Creator so therefore it acts accordingly and and and and and doesn’t try and take the glory for itself right for example you have the K Gad wears
Clothes of honor and Glamour and and and Beauty but that he wasn’t trying to glamorize himself he glamorizing hasem whereas wears the same clothes and he’s trying to make himself glamorous he’s trying to wear he’s trying to sit on the the SE seat of scho to to self Ang Grand
So that’s really the the difference between Mal of of of um the is how the world how the world acknowledges or doesn’t acknowledge or how it receives the shefer how it receives the flow from hasem whether it’s it’s it’s basically a a transparent vessel of allowing the flow
To come through and letting it come through us without taking it for ourselves or are we taking it are we are we are we taking it for ourselves is about us is about him but go into it’s still acting as a relation between people and right right that’s that’s the
Important point of RA that is always there it’s just concealed it’s concealed by by the of theer but the is always the one the one talking to the Jews so when we see a king who’s in charge of the world so it seems that it’s someone that’s fighting
Hashem is against hashem’s people but the truth was knew was that there is no one fighting hasem it’s just that right now there is this concealment of the Mal of but really behind the scenes is is always there it’s just it’s got a front it’s got It’s got a it’s got a brand
Name called which is just uh it’s not it’s not representing the the the CEO or the higher ups in in the business you know it’s like when you look at certain products you see like how how there’s like five glamor at um companies and they’ve all got different names like the names
Are it’s all just p& G and then Johnson and Johnson whatever yeah you you don’t you see a name it’s not doesn’t mean it’s it’s all just coming back to the same thing so you see Kamas you see Putin you see it’s all it’s all one company should and
Revealed thank you than you so much thank you now we’re going to have the honor sure beautiful beautiful what do you want to do with the SIM you want your sim card you want mine continue oh I didn’t bring it give it to to raile right somebody

See the side of my head it doesn’t make any sense okay also SCH in the middle of the class this is going to go off oh it’s only 30 minutes but this is going to go off after 30 minutes so maybe you could just push record again in 30 minutes okay
Okay are we ready to go yeah so we don’t feel that nobody it’s also that and also so that the people who are watching in the audience on the on the online that they feel that they have a I’m looking at them too oh great thank you thank you so we have anybody
Watching three people watching Oh have you beening to the circumstances yeah when you come back back one week around one week yeah around a week what successful um yes very very nice but you know the energy there is yes they they don’t see wow they don’t see is clearly they see they’re very
Uh wow everybody is like uh so it’s a heavy yeah but they they don’t they don’t want to move they want to stay and they don’t they don’t See like they armies coming against us For should probably start should probably Start All right is the record Being is pressed on here or no no all right so in in 25 minutes all you have to do here is start and stop again if you what is it turn off after 30 minutes because they want you to buy a different camera if
You want to do if you want to do video can you sit there for a second yeah than move over a little bit this way yeah okay very awfully close Okay Okay where to go okay okay you must be getting very smart because you’re taking all these classes you must
Be getting becoming a big no that’s the idea yeah it’s amazing you get the that’s your the real benefit of what you’re doing exactly okay okay yeah so SCH if you sit right there that’s in that seat where are we sitting and you sit over there in this seat here
That’s perfect perfect hello everybody uh thank you so much uh for joining us thank you for having me um I was thinking about how to start this class and I was uh reminded that R Shalom ashlag the son of the basam used to start off his classes by having uh by
Setting the intention he used to ask um you know some very basic questions before they start learning you know a lot of times we start learning and we just jump right into this topic and we’re learning about about something that’s very uh you know exacting some
Gamar and um we don’t start by saying what exactly are we trying to accomplish and so ra Shalom Ash the son of the basam was very uh was very uh direct direct and very careful about this and so before people before his group started learning he would said what are
We doing here what are we trying to accomplish okay so um let’s just start off by saying that there’s the crisis in the world and the problems in the world are exactly the focus of cabala why is the world the way it is and what can we do about it and so
Um everything that is wrong with the world and everything that we want to fix that is what we’re talking about that is what we’re studying there should be no um confusion that this is some some type of escapism or even worse this is some kind of um intellectual exercise where
We’re going to become smart or we’re going to get gain some kind of pleasure just from the learning itself and you know that is learning is you know learning Torah does have come with a tremendous amount of pleasure intellectual pleasure that you get from doing all of these you know uh by
Evaluating all these things and learning all of these um you know sometimes feel like mental gymnastics but that’s not what we’re doing here we’re doing here is we’re trying to fix the world and so cabala is the methodology is the uh wisdom the interior of the Torah where
It’s explained very very clearly and very very you know scientifically meaning in a very very organized thorough linear way of explaining what the process by which we’re going to fix the world is okay so that’s what we’re doing here um so um I also think that you know when we
Start the class we should start by trying to explain what what cabala is what the mechanics of cabala are and we’ve gone through this many times we’ll continue to go through it but I want to have maybe try to take it from a slightly different angle one of the
First things you have to do in cabala is you have to I mean not I want to take it in pieces meaning maybe we’ve been we’ve been talking in a very very you know um Grand way about cabala and we need to be a little bit more uh take things in
Smaller bites and so one of the things that we are trying to do in cabala is we’re trying to first convince ourselves that doing this is worthwhile is that there’s some kind of value in doing this and we’re going to get somewhere and we’re going to make something happen and we’ll talk
More about that uh as we go through the um exerpts from the book that we’re learning from but um until we realize that this is really worthwhile that everything that we’re trying to do in life Is let me see what happened here I think that um I’m sorry everybody there’s some something happened with the computer okay um schomo just yeah there’s I think the class went off so we’ll just stop here for a minute and I’ll cut it hello somebody there yeah hello are you from the
Class no I’m from the book order yeah yeah I’m sorry slm’s not here just um we’re having a zoom class so um can you call him back please sure thank you so much scho here no no going the phone I can’t call you yeah we got knocked off the zoom class got knocked
Off do you know where the zoom is over here FaceTime should I bring my phone you want to call him on the on his on the phone is this his phone maybe yeah so he’s not even going to answer okay oh this is his phone yeah okay so then
That’s it okay I guess we should just keep going I don’t know but you don’t see if I bring the connection if I bring the connection to the zooms you can find it on the computer and here let me see your Zoom right here let me see see see if that does It I don’t know if anybody’s here I can’t really tell hello anybody there oh I see one participant not sure if that’s us okay well I think the zoom is up hello to bring my phone and try to connect them to see if appearing there no but do you
Have everybody from the class in the on do you have everybody on the class in your Zoom and the connection that I can get in Zoom inside no I’m on I’m back on Zoom but I don’t know if it’s we’ll see what happens we’ll just go forward
Okay okay so many times in the classes that we started off we tried to explain what exactly we are um what the process of cabala is and so um I think that maybe we should take things in smaller bites and try to uh see what the steps
Are for the beginning students for what we’re trying to accomplish the first thing we said is that we’re trying to get people to understand that there’s a value in what we’re doing and so the problem in life is that no matter how much we take in things in a
Materialistic way into our vessels of reception it never seems to work out we have money and then we we need we want more money and we have you know whatever we get we get become famous or popular or we become you know um people get to
You know start to respect us then we want more and more and more and so there’s a problem in life is that it never seems to work out and so the uh cabala comes and tells us that the reason for that is because we have we’re living out of our vessels of reception
And we really should be living out of our our altruistic vessels and that when we attain vessels of altruism that’s the missing ingredient and that is the revelation of God and when we do this work and we somehow put together we unify ourselves as a group and we reveal
The good goodness of God’s light in our lives and that is actually the ingredient that allows for everything else in life to make sense and to work out and so it’s a very very once we start to see this and we start to understand this we will the value of
What we’re trying to accomplish will be much much stronger and that is what’s going to fuel us in our work and in our studying in cabala okay so last class we started we were talking about auna faith and so what um I would like to say in is
That in cabala study the words that we’re used to hearing in our in our five materialistic vessels in our sense of sight and hear and taste and smell and touch these are are God these are our natural um vessels of reception and so when we hear a word in um in cabala we
Have to first try to understand that the word itself is we’re talking about uh uh a world of roots and branches which we dis discussed that there’s a spiritual um the that these things started out in a spiritual way and then they ended up down here in our materialistic life and
So we have to what we have to do is we have to learn how to shift our focus and so this is something shift from you know the way that we’re perceiving things you know in photography and in um in film making we change the lens we change the
Perspective we change the angle we look at things first we look at things from a from the side then we look at it directly straight on and so this is a a a a a skill set that’s very important in uh in cabala study let’s let me give you
I was trying to think of what a good example of this would be and let’s say you a person gets into a fight with somebody so you can be thinking about what the person did wrong and what’s wrong with the person and you can go through the whole entire fight from the
Beginning all the way through like you know not speaking to them and then you make up the whole thing and your whole entire focus in the fight was what did the other person do wrong to you and what’s wrong with them this person getss jealous this person’s very very gets
Angry quickly and our whole entire focus is but then you know is about the other person but then as a person matures they might say to themselves you know they become a little bit more sophisticated they might say you know listen I don’t really care about this other person I
Care about myself so maybe when I get into the fight with somebody I I can think more about myself what can I do next time that I won’t be able to get lose my temper and what can I do next time that I’ll become come out of the
Fight in a better place right so you instead of thinking about the other person you start to say how does this how can I work through this fight in a way that gives me a greater benefit and the greater benefit would be that I end up in a better position afterwards and
So this person gets older they get more mature they get more sophisticated they maybe they start to think you know hey what should I do differently when I get into a fight with somebody and so this is the kind of Shifting of perspective that is very very important so we’re
Going to start talking about imuna and the word imuna means Faith so here the balas says the main spiritual work of Judaism is the spiritual work of amuna the main spiritual work of Judaism is the spiritual work of amuna of Faith so this sounds very very strange I mean there’s
A lot of things going on in Judaism and so why is Faith the most important the most Central work in amuna and what does faith even mean okay so that’s what we have to first we have to understand is that the way that we see the way that we
See we understand the word Faith might not be the way the cabalists are trying to explain Faith to us and so there is the B comes and explains that there is Faith below reason and faith above reason Faith below reason and faith above reason so when somebody
Makes fun of a religious person a person who has Faith they are usually making fun of their perception of what faith below reason is and so Faith below reason would be they told me when I was a kid that there’s a Easter Bunny and now I believe that there’s Easter Bunny
They told me when I was a kid there’s Santa Claus and now I believe there’s Santa Claus or they told me that God is sitting on a throne in in and he’s a man with a white beard and he’s sitting on a throne and that’s what I believe so this
Is called Faith below reason when you don’t really have a reason but you’ve been indoctrinated and this is what people make fun of when they say oh these you know a religious person is just they need something in their life to um rely on to give them safety to
Give them a s of a sense of belonging or a sense of purpose and this is why they’ve chosen to brainwash themselves to allow themselves to be brainwashed and they have faith so this is not what we’re talking about in cabala we are talking about faith above reason faith
Above reason so example of faith above reason would be if you are there’s an emergency and you have to climb up a mountain and so you go to the mountain and you find out that there’s three or four different groups of people going up the mountain and each of them has a
Leader and you evaluate which leader which group you want to go with you make all these decisions about how they’re going to climb the mountain maybe one of them is going to go swimming maybe the other one is going to go with they’re going to go with guns and they’re going
To go through the woods first and they’re going to go up to the other side of the mountain and you look at all the you try to evaluate then you look at the the the leader of each group and you see this guy talks very calmly and this guy
Has a lot of experience and you see that his hands are all worn in from many many years of climbing mountains and you just decide that he’s the best and then what you do is you put your faith you decide you ask him can I go
With you up the mountain he says yes you can go with me so you put your faith in him you’ve made a decision a logical decision that this person knows more than you that this person has more control than you this person has greater Vision than you and you are going to put
Your put your faith into that person so that’s faith above reason meaning you’re using your intellect to First evaluate what’s going on so you look at the different religions and you look at different philosophies in life and you try to the best of your ability to try
To understand which one you think is the most valuable the most true and you put your faith in that so that’s faith above reason so as we we’re going to say more of this as we keep reading from the book okay this is above reason or below
Reason because this sound that it’s a it’s a logical thing to do it’s above reason in other words you’re saying right there’s many ways there’s many ways to think about this this this that’s why that expression yes so you’re asking a beautiful question and you’re saying yes you what you’re saying is
Also true so there’s many things we could say about this this talk that we’re going to read today about you see that there’s many many different conversations that we need to have about faith because what the B just said is the main spiritual work of Judaism is
The spiritual work of Faith so now we have a lot of talking to do about it so yes so in a way you don’t know as much as the person who’s who is you’re trying to make a decision about somebody who knows more than you and so you’re having
To put your faith in the fact that you’re you are to the best of your abilities you have made an evaluation and now you are putting your faith in you’re putting your trust in that person meaning when you go up the mountain if this person tells you to walk slower you’re going to
Listen to him if he tells you to walk faster you’re G to listen to him if he tells you to breathe don’t breathe so deeply you’re going to listen to him why you don’t know why he’s saying that but you’re putting your faith in him because you understand that he knows more than
You so you have a you’ve used your reason to understand that he knows more than you and now you’re putting your faith in him okay this is the beginning of the conversation we’re going to we’re going to we’re going to read something now and we’re going to go in a
Completely different direction about faith attaining a level of auna is not simple it takes a lot of hard work I heard from my teacher the rebi R ashlag I believe that’s probably talking about the basam that we are not a son there’s the son is RA Shalom and then his father
Is RA Yuda ashl and so um sometimes it’s not clear who they’re referring to here okay I believe it’s uh Ruda ashl that we are not able to attain auna through our abilities we need to make a lot of effort to think that everything is for
The good and act accordingly in the end however only God can give us the ability to believe in God amazing statement okay let me read it again attaining a level of auna is not simple it takes a lot of hard work I heard from my read from my teacher the
Rebi r ASL that we are not able to attain auna through our own abilities we can’t Faith the faith that they’re talking about in cabala is not you’re not able to do it you’re not able to do it we need to make a lot of effort to
Think and to think that everything is for the good and act accordingly but in the end however only God can give us the ability to believe in God okay this is an amazing statement okay so ra shom the son of the basam we have to do a lot of
Unpacking here to really understand what’s going on so the son of the of the basam Shalom as who lived in Tel Aviv in Ben and um only passed away uh may his uh uh memory be a blessing uh a number of years ago I think maybe 25 years ago
Maybe anyway so he’s a modern Rabbi he was alive and with us people there are people on now who studied by him and he said that the body does not ex does not agree the ego does not agree so what happens is when a person really really
Sets their mind and they’re going to do this work what they’re going to find out is that the ego is not going to let you do it that the that when a person is doesn’t work so hard he has simple Faith he says I believe in God I believe in
This I believe in that okay great but when a person really really tried to find God and he really tried to to separate himself from materialism to transcend his material nature his selfishness and obtain a New Soul a new soul soul of giving a soul of of
Altruism if a person truly tried to do this this is what sikim tried to do this is what all the great great rabbis throughout history have done some of them have achieved it achieved it they become righteous people so there’s a step along the way when you start to
Learn cabala when you start to do pus a Torah when you start to try to do this work is that you start to fight with parro parro is the ego so the the children of the Israelites said to mosha rabenu why did you start up with parro
Why did you start up with parro why did you try to work Ferrari when I go to heaven okay if you work that way it’s possible you keep working because you’re in the back of your mind you’re writing down every day I did this I kept kosher
I went to synagogue I learned 10 that five hours a day write it all down and you add it all up and you do calculations you know Jews are good accountants and you say God owes me five Ferraris when I die when I go to heaven okay this is not what we’re talking
About we’re talking about about doing the work in our lifetimes to actually become righteous to actually become altruistic to actually unify to actually reveal God in our Consciousness and to do this work we have to leave behind our self-interest and we have to become altruistic because God is a
Giver and we’re takers because that’s the way God created us but God created us in a way that we have an ability to rise above our selfish natures and become like him the vent with Hashem means adhesion to the Creator means we become similar to him he’s a he’s a
Giver we become a giver right he’s merciful we become merciful so when we try to do this work and we really really try Shalom testified he once sh yelled out in I think he was daving and his students heard him say to Hashem to God the body does not agree I’ve tried over
And over and over and over again to not be selfish and it’s not possible it’s not possible I can tell tell you it’s not possible I did it again and again and again and again and again and again and again and every time I try to do
Something I realize I’m doing it for myself I selfish I can’t get away from my from ego from Power I can’t escape Egypt right it’s amazing statement so in the real world we would be in the in our world the way we think about things the way we perceive reality
We would be very upset we’d say oh that’s the end of the end of the fight I lost I tried and now it’s over and I’m going to forget about trying to do this I’m going to go to Hawaii and I’ll surf for the rest of my life and I’ll live on
Coconuts and have a good time at least like what am I going to try to do this nonsense why would I try to do this but in cabala it’s the opposite in cabala we’re talking about a mirror we’re talking about when you look in a mirror you’re seeing the opposite
Side so when you face somebody your left is their right and your right is their left right so we’re having we have even though we have a relationship with Hashem it’s could be it’s a mirror image so we have to un we have to think in a
Different way and so in cabala instead of being upset by this this is a this is a very very high State of Consciousness when a person realizes that they cannot do it then what do they need they need Hashem to help them they need Hashem to
Act for them to reveal himself and to be the one who changes the thing so this is called in cabala this is they T up the word one of the names of God is bore Bor means Creator right but you can read it you can split it up the word b come and
See so this means so this in cabala they say the Bor the Creator the Creator is telling you come and see first you try to change and give your a complete effort try and try and try and try and when you see that it’s impossible then
You turn to God right so if a person’s successful and they’re handsome and they’re everything is going great for them they think I’m doing it I’m smart and I’m build a big business you speak to some guy who made $10 million what does he tell you I made $10 million very
Hard to see right of course so this person is saying I did it I’m the king of the Universe I did it I’m the king I did everything I got up in the morning and I worked and I work and look what I made now I have these are my cars these
Are my this my house this my this my beautiful wife right so that’s not what we’re doing in cabala in cabala we’re trying to do something and we’re trying to get to the place where we can reveal to ourselves that it’s not possible and instead of feeling bad about that we
Feel good about that we say ah look at this I found out I came to the level the spiritual level that’s called the body does not agree it’s a very good place to be you turn to Hashem you say listen I try to become like you and it’s not working I
Can’t do it by myself I can’t do it by myself and not only that but in cabala here what he here we listen what he just said we need to make a lot of effort to think that everything is is for the good and act accordingly meaning
That we put the effort in but God acts and so I don’t know where it says it in the gamarra but it says that God does not need any Partners most people want to work with God and this is can be confused because we have God gave us the
Ability to be a partner but we have to realize what kind of partnership it is it’s a partnership where God doesn’t need to a partner from us he doesn’t need us to do anything but he’s letting us play a game like you play with children play a game with little
Children you’re the one who’s playing with them you’re letting them play with you but you don’t really need them to put the blocks together you could do it by yourself so that’s the kind of partnership we have with Hashem which is that God gave us this he wanted us to
Grow and to be our to feel that we are doing something ourselves but part of that is to First realize that in the true true the cabala is called the uh the wisdom of Truth and so the true truth is that God is only doing us a
Favor God doesn’t need us to do so part of that is the humility is to understand that all we’re doing really is we’re making the effort we’re putting in the investment of doing the hard work and then when we realize Hashem I did everything I can do
Now it’s your turn you have to do it and when I when you do it then what happens is I’m no longer going to say I did it also I’m gonna say instead I’m gonna say God did it I revealed God that’s the way in our in our in our Consciousness from
That when that person does something and does something and does something it never works and finally he turns to Hashem and he says to God please change me then and the person’s changed that person can testify that person stands up we say in Hollow that person stands up
And says God did something for me and you I realize it I understand it I I I obtain the level of understanding that it was God who did it not me we see this from people okay children are not given diamonds to play marbles with similarly God does not
Give the measure of God’s exaltedness to one who is not able to feel and appreciate it children are not given diamonds to play marbles with similarly God does not give The Treasure of God’s exaltedness to one who is not able to feel and appreciated okay this is very very important we go
Through our lives and we fighting with people who say God doesn’t exist all the time and we’re surprised by that and then we want to Vince this person convince this person want to argue with them and convince them and give them all these different arguments to prove that
God exists here cabala is telling us you’re wasting your time God first a person has to want and then a person then Hashem gives there’s no way to get and sometimes in the Torah we have different cases where the person didn’t really deserve it but God did it anyway
But that was for very unusual very unusual and only for a different reason a higher reason he did it for everybody who does care but he wants to work through somebody to show even somebody who’s not doesn’t get care I can work through them even if if I want to so but
Look like like korak we’re talking about not korak I’m sorry like uh balak and balak so we have yeah so we have these cases but let’s not that’s not what we’re talking about what we’re talking about here is that a person has to want to be changed by God and reveal God which
Means coming out of their own e their own egoistic nature and when that happens then that’s precisely what draws down the light of Hashem the Revelation the awareness of God and so um until a person wants to change um there is uh there’s nothing you can do and
So it’s very funny you know people who are non-observant they sometimes they have complaints about the K about the ultra Orthodox community and if they only knew the secret of the ultra Orthodox Community is that the ultra Orthodox Community the rabbis are trying to stay out of everybody’s way everybody thinks
They’re trying to bother the secular people it’s the exact opposite if you go to any rebi and you sit there long enough and you start to ask him questions about the world and think he says leave them alone leave them alone you be a light
And what what does it mean be a light you put out a book and you have a group on you know you put a group out there you put a sign up that you’re going to have a you’re learning whatever you’re learning gamar you’re learning mishna
You put it you make a available to the public and the people who want it will come but you don’t go and force somebody this is not this is not in the Jewish religion we present it we let it we make it available we make our the wisdom
Available but we don’t pressure somebody because a person has to develop a desire and awareness that um that they’re outside of godliness and they have to do something to enter into godliness to reveal godliness that’s the way God made the world we know that the world is the
The the world is called uh in Hebrew and hel means hidden so we should not be surprised that we don’t see God that is God’s mercy that he stayed that he removed him himself from our Consciousness to allow us to build back the relationship and
That gives us a sense of self we’ve gone through this many times it gives us an awareness of our self if we just were given the present we would be in this Blissful place of nothingness constant pleasure constant light just wait washing over you washing over you and
You would have like a tiny tiny tiny little thread of awareness you wouldn’t have a personality you wouldn’t have a May be like a baby you open your eyes and you get milk you open you get everything like that and you just stay like that and it’s a
Very very simple life it’s you get all the pleasure but you don’t have any of the uh sense of self the awareness and you have no sense of Pride that you worked towards it so this is what the gift of the Torah is is that we get to
Exist feel that we exist and experience God who’s infinite so we have two contradictory it’s a magic trick that God did that we have oh can you push the can you push the play over here the record button it went off I’ll edit it after just the red
Button there’s a red button on the back yeah amazing thank you so much perfect okay okay let’s move on let’s see what the next excerpt says here everybody when we call to God the reason we are calling is because God is bringing us close the very Act of
Calling to God is already an answer from God one more time when we call to God the reason we are calling is because God is bringing us close the very Act of calling to God is already an answer from God so what does this mean you say I
Don’t have uh the M the money for the rent so you cry out to God I I need I need please I need the money I don’t have the money to pay the rent right so from our perspective we go through life and we have all these needs
And then we don’t get our needs met we go to somebody we go to first we go to our parents and then we go to our friends and then we can’t they don’t answer us then we go to God and we say please I need the rent money please make
A miracle that I can get the rent money that’s not the method in cabala in cabala we’re talking about something different so we have to refocus all of the rules all the rules that we learned in the revealed Torah we have to redefine them and understand how
They work in this internal method of of of of of transcending our ego so what we said is that a person can stay their entire life and never call out to God and they can stay very very far away from God and they no awareness no need for God and they don’t
Care and they’re not interested right so a person when a person says calls out and says God help me that person has made an effort somehow in their life that they are calling out to God that they say this must be a God above that’s
Help that can help me so this is not a problem in cabala this is a gift so when a person has a reason to call out to God and an awareness that they can call out to God even if they say maybe it’s not true I don’t know what it is but at
Least the person had that thought popped into their head that they should pray to God right so somebody’s in a war and they’re in a hole and then they get scared and they start calling out to God is spiritual emotion yeah so it’s a it’s a gift from
God that exactly spiritual that’s right everything is correct correct so this person correct correct so exactly exactly that’s exactly what we’re saying here that God that when we’re talking about the the internal method of of of uh cabala all of these things should be seen as States Of Consciousness and so
The person is in the it’s not good that the person’s in the in the war and he’s getting shot at but what is good is that he’s realizing he’s calling out to God and he has an awareness so that was a gift that now he is aware of something
So when we learn the Torah when we learn the Kash when we learn the Torah you know in theot the this The Narrative that’s in the Torah we think of being in Egypt is a very bad thing but in cabala that’s a state of consciousness so we
Say we are the the Israelites were in Egypt they were in their materialism so if a person is living in Manhattan or Miami and they have an amazing life they have cars and apartments and they have they have relationships and they everything is go and they go out to they
Go out to different restaurants every week they they’re having a great great time right so this person is in Egypt they’re in their materialism they’re in their ego but they do not know that they’re in their ego they don’t even have a sense that there’s a problem they
Think it’s a perfect place to be so we know in the story in the Torah in the Bible that I think four fifths of the the Israelites stayed in Egypt and we coming up porm is coming up and so PM is a story about the the the
Jews who were exiled from Israel and they went to Persia and these are the Jews that stayed a few years earlier before the story didn’t Ezra go back with some people so what happened was they said Jews are now allowed to go back to the land of Israel to their
Birthright and some people went but a lot of people said know what I’m in Persia if you guys any know any Persians in California you’re talking about some very good-look people you’re talking about some very wealthy people you’re talking about when you go to go to Beverly Hills and see what we’re talking
About so the people who stayed in Persia they didn’t feel like they were in a bad place they live in a great place they were in Manhattan they were in the they were in Miami they were in Moscow they were in Berlin they were in right this where they were they were in
Tokyo they were in these very very cool amazing places with every kind of egoistic thing you could Poss imagine so we have to understand that feeling that you are trapped in your materialism in your ego is a very very high spiritual state so only one in
Five of the Jew oneth of the Jewish people of the Israelites in Egypt were able to attain the feeling that something is wrong you know I feel like I just use my friends I don’t really care about them I like the co I like all the respect they give me
And I like that they I get my when I go out to drink in the bar they’re with me and I can make jokes and they laugh at what I say that’s what I like I don’t really care about them like if one of them something bad happened to them I
Would get over it very quickly I’d feel bad for a few hours then I’d forget about it okay oh I heard Jimmy lost his job okay what can I do you know so when a person realizes that they have a limitation you know get married and your
Wife will tell you what your limitations are what you’re not you know you don’t see me you don’t you’re not really you don’t really care about my feelings you care about yourself you care about you know all these things you’re not listening to me you don’t see me right
So these are this is why uh uh God gave us a partner who can clarify for us what’s what our limitations are so a wife is called Help against in cabala meaning that you get to see what you’re not up to what you’re not what you’re
Not living up to so um and obviously that’s not all we get in a marriage we get all hopefully in a supportive in in a healthy marriage you get a lot of support a lot of love and a lot of your you know your partner treats you like a
King of course all those things too um anyway so we have to understand that amuna is a faith in cabala is not the faith that we’re talking about in the revealed Torah and certainly not the faith that we’re talking about in the the world when you go to like a
University and they start to tell you what religious people are up to it’s not it’s it’s nothing like that what it is is an awareness that we cannot Escape our materialism our egoistic Natures without doing something that draws the light down from above so here we just
Said that God does not give auna to somebody who does not do something to earn it it’s an it’s a gift it’s a gift that you have to earn which is that you have to say to yourself I can’t change myself and God is good and God is
Created everything and God is in control of everything and he must have done this for a reason and he must want to work with me to change this and that’s what we’re learning that’s what we’re studying okay let’s see what else amuna Faith at its fullest brings
Us to the ultimate level of life where we enjoy giving to others and enjoy when other people are happy attaining imuna is a struggle because our desire to receive wants the pleasure of receiving not the pleasure of giving let me read it again because it’s very hard to
Understand what’s being said here amuna Faith at its fullest brings us to the ultimate level of life where we enjoy giving to others and enjoy when other people are happy attaining amuna faith is a struggle because our desire to receive wants the pleasure of receiving not the pleasure of giving
Okay it’s very very hard to understand because what does faith have to do with the fact that we enjoy giving more than we rece we uh enjoy receiving it’s a very very hard to understand so and this is something that I think that as a student studies and
You know pursues this um wisdom this method they come to many many many realizations about this over and over again so there’s things that can be said now but I think that this something that the person each individual each of us has to really uh think about and
Experience ourselves is that when the finite this is the simplest thing we can say I think about this is that the giving is the aspect of in infinite is the infinite light when you give you have you are connecting to the infinite why if I eat pizza let’s say I’m a very
Selfish person and I like pizza I can eat maybe seven eight pieces of pizza on my best night right but then I get sick but if I throw a party for everybody in our group here and I buy I pay for the pizza and then we have 30 people here
And I eat two pieces of pizza and everybody else eats pizza and I enjoy the fact that they’re eating pizza so now I’ve managed to eat 30 slices and I could go on and go on it says that when mashia comes the pig which is the personification of of gluttony of of of
Having too much will become kosher and so why is that that it becomes kosher because when you enter into the G when you enter into mhia Consciousness we are going to be more concerned about giving than taking and so if you want to be a glutton you want to be uh voracious
About your desire to feed other people you can go as much as you want it’s only when you’re dealing with yourself when you’re selfish that you can’t fulfill your needs by by overdoing it but when you’re trying to take people you can overdo it
So why does that why do we need Faith to connect to the infinite okay so the infinite by definition never ends okay so every time you experience God and God’s bigness and goodness and wonderfulness every time you do that there’s going to be another level after
That that God is going to be revealed even higher to you and every time you think that you’ve experienced love in your life and you’ve helped people there’s going to be another opportunity where it’s going to be even greater than that the amount of joy that you get from
Helping 10 people and then you’re going to be like I can’t believe I feel so happy that everybody is doing well and not only do I feel good but everybody feels good and you just feel so amazing about that there’s going to be another one and another one it’s never going to
End and you’re going to be in this continual state of giving and receiving giving and receiving and giving and receiving and so for that to work you need to have faith why because your person has to let go of what they have if you’re in a Rel relationship with
Somebody and they give you $10 they give you a gift worth $10 you could either hold take the $10 you know sell the thing that they gave you take the $10 and put it in the bank and hold it forever and you have $10 or you can
Say oh I’m gonna buy something for them that’s $12 and so now you’ve done an Act of Faith what’s the Act of Faith amuna is that you believe in the relationship so much that you are willing that you you trust you know you have faith that when I give this person more than
They gave me it’s going to turn out in a good way it’s going to be worth it for me in some way how is it going to be worth it because I keep I feel like I want to keep it myself so here we’re learning that it says here attaining
Amuna is a struggle because a desire to receive wants the pleasure of receiving not the pleasure of giving so if I give you a gift that’s worth $100 you have $100 more than you had now you could keep that $100 I gave it it’s a gift right so you should keep it no
You’re going to say I want to be even closer to this person so I’m going to buy them a gift that’s worth $200 that’s an Act of Faith and so this is why we need faith that if we want to enter into a relationship with Hashem we have to
Constantly constantly be willing to give up everything in the awareness that it’s going to be worth it for us we’re going to like the relationship more than the keeping the thing itself fine okay so this is how this is what we’re talking about this is a high level of amuna of
Faith that we’re talking about in cabala let’s just go over it again I give you $100 you’re happy why are you happy because $100 is a lot of money for you so you say oh $100 I’m very happy so now you have to say to yourself I want
Either the relationship should stop I take the $100 and I never speak to this person again and I use the $100 or I say I really think that being friends with this person is worth more than the $100 so you say to yourself I’m going to take
A leap of faith I buy them something for $200 and then they turn around they do something for you that’s worth $500 and so then this keeps going and going and going until you know what you realize I don’t care about that he’s giving me 100 then I’m giving him 200
Then I’m giving he’s giving me 500 I don’t care about that I care about the relationship this is a friend that I can count on no matter what this is a friend who if I have a bad day he’s going to be there for me if I have a good day a bad
Day a good day he’s going to be there for me this is worth more than the bad day or the good day the relationship itself and so this is what we’re talking about is how do we end up in a NeverEnding continual Perpetual relationship with Hashem by becoming
Like Hashem this is the abod this is the work of cabala this is what we’re learning about okay made sense okay good true amuna is a spiritual light that we receive from God the light is given this light is given to one who makes a to one who make who’s making an
Effort to attain the Divine attributes of compassion and giving this is the work of the heart and B to one who is making an effort to go beyond understanding believing that everything God does is for the good this is the work of the mind okay this is from
The from the introductory article of the wisdom of Truth page 124 um okay let’s let me read this again because this is this is uh we have to really uh think about this true faith is a spiritual light that is received from God this light is given okay so we
Always say what is the light people talk about religious people talk about light the light of God what are we talking about so now the uh great calist is going to tell us what we mean when we say light okay so he has a and b a light
Is given to one who is making an effort to attain the Divine attributes of compassion and giving this is the work of the heart and B to one who is making an effort to go beyond understanding believing that everything God does is for the good this is the work of the
Mind okay so um we’re learning here that there’s two things that a person needs to do in order to receive this light of Faith okay to want to see that you want this thing to realize that this thing is worth more than gold what does a person
Have to do to get that light and so there’s work of the heart and there’s a work of the mind okay so the work of the heart is to try and try and try to enjoy giving to people more than you enjoy taking from people
It’s very very hard go try to do that okay and so we have to start very small and we have to try to do it and so um yeah we have to we have to do actual work of trying to see trying to be givers and see what that means and then
See how we don’t like to do it and try harder right and so see oh you know I gave but really I was waiting for the person to say thank you or I gave but really I was waiting for somebody to to say that I’m a good person or I was
Giving to this person but I really want them to to do something for me later and so you start to you know so do the work and the second thing is the work of the mind is that you have to believe that everything is happening for the good now
This is like we said this is we’re living in a in a in a hidden world and so every time you do the work you’re going to be confronted by very good arguments why it’s stupid that is the work that’s not very
Easy so you say I get up and I go rush I run to the to to the to to go pray and then I go right to a class and I’m rushing around like a crazy person and I said what am I doing this for what am I
Crazy look at this guy has a cool car and this guy’s going to the beach with his girlfriend what am I I’m what am I wasting my whole life why am I doing this it’s really crazy and so this is the work is that we have to we have to
Grow in our awareness of what we’re trying to accomplish all the reasons why this is worthwhile and so that is why uh Ash cabala and rabar shalom in particular rabar shom Ash did a lot of work about how to make a group of people come together how to organize a group of
People to do this work and explain that you need to have people who are working in the same thing that and then we have to convince each other that this is worth doing and we have to support each other and then we have to practice we
Have to learn and then we have to get together and we have to practice these things and R sham was very were many books and many articles about how do we organize a group of people who is going to build up enough of a interest and so
One of the main things they say in ashla cabala is that a person is going to become brainwashed they’re going to be brainwashed the question is who they who they want to be brainwashed by so if you go to uh Brooklyn and you’re uh you know you
Watch TV and movies and read magazines you’re gonna be brainwashed by people who want to tell you that you know about all the cars that’s gon to make you happy and about all the beautiful clothes that’s gon to make you happy and going to the right places G to make you
Happy and all these things are going to make you happy and then you’re going to start to to think that those are the things that you want to pursue to to make yourself happy it’s like you go to a girl school with like uh twins they’re
Called like girls who are like 10 and 11 years old one girl comes in with a certain singer and all of a sudden all the girls love the singer or the one girl comes in with a with a with a hat with a feather in it and then the next thing you know
Three weeks later every single kid is has this hat this this hat with a feather in it or some girl gets new sneakers and then everybody gets these sneakers what happened there is that one girl who is very popular who was like the alpha she got something and now
Everybody decided that that’s what’s going to make them happy to also have that thing and so we have to decide that what’s going to make us happy in life and so for that a person needs a lot of wisdom so I am a kabad niik and I went
To kabad house in Brooklyn and my Rabbi told me a great story he told me that uh he had his wife runs a gan a Kinder garden and so in the neighborhood where I lived there was a lot of Israelis who come from Tel Aviv a
Lot of I don’t like to use the word that Reby would never use the word but people who are you know not what not practicing Jew not practicing not practicing Jew so so they would come to this very trendy neighborhood Williamsburg Brooklyn with a very trendy place
And they would go to there’s a whole bunch of different uh kindergartens there you know some of them are very very expensive and some of them are only very expensive but they’re all expensive anyway so the some of the the Israelis they come to kabad they come in to see
What the they’re going to different schools and trying to figure out where they want to put their kid so this Israeli couple comes in and they’re very you know cool and he’s not Kosher he doesn’t keep shabas and he’s not yaka and he comes in he sees the whole thing
And after a few hours he says to the rabbi ah it’s not for me it’s too religious he leaves says you’re too religious you’re kids singing religious songs and there’re you know whatever what you doing to so uh a week goes by and the guy comes
Back and he puts his kid into the class so he said the rabbi said to him he said what happened he told me he was too religious I what are you doing back here so maybe it’s too expensive the other place because the other places they’re all very expensive but he said
What thought maybe the guy said there was no more room in the other place I have no choice said why’ you come back and he said when I saw my kids in the other school and I saw how much they were being influenced by the video games
And by the clothes and by the movies and by everything there was so much information coming into the kids and they were soaking it up so quickly I realized that even if I gave them five hours a day of Torah of of of religious studies it’s still only a drop
In the bucket of what they’re going to get they’re going to get so much more from the rest of the world that they’re they’re lucky if they even know that they’re Jewish even from being in kabad for five hours a day because there’s so much information coming and so the point
Is that we’re being we’re being um I don’t know who said it but he said that if God put um if God put what was in the book in the world and put what was in the world in the book we would have a chance to do this but the fact that the
Wisdom is in a book like this and then the rest of the world is so exciting it’s extremely extremely hard for us to have this shift of focus to understand to turn internally and to start to do the spiritual work is so utterly uh such a tremendous uh Endeavor that we really
Need a gift from Hashem to even have why do I why am I doing this why am I not surfing in Hawaii why am I not trying to become famous in in Hollywood it’s it’s a miracle because for us to do this and so that’s why R shalam was very big on
The fact that we have to build a group of people doesn’t have to be in person it could be online and we have to convince ourselves of the truth and the truth is is that when we we all enter into altruism into giving that that is the missing ingredient that will reveal God
And that will allow us to enjoy all of the beautiful gifts that Hashem wants to give us so it’s like if I eat cake because you let’s say you make me a cake and I eat the cake and you made me the cake because you want me
To be happy it’s my birthday so you made me the cake so I’m trying to show you that I’m very very very happy wow you mean this cake is delicious and you made it for me and so thank you so much I can’t believe that you would go through the effort and so
I’m constantly telling you how much I love the fact that you went through the effort to love me enough to BU to make me this cake and I’m constantly telling you this and I’m just completely focused on you there’s a secret here you know what the secret is even though my mind
I’m focused on you trying to convey to you that I see how much you love me that you were invested this time to make me this cake like your grandmother makes you something you have to show her that that that you appreciate it right Thank you Grandma thank you for the food it’s
Amazing it’s delicious I love it it’s my favorite food right this is the whole ritual you go through with your grandmother because you need to show her that you understand that she made the food for you because she loves you and she wants the gift to you so you have to
Receive the the gift in a in a loving way so we have the ability to do that with our grandmother but we have to do that with everybody so the secret of this relationship is that if you make me this cake I can’t help it’s delicious I
Can’t help but enjoy the cake I still get to enjoy the cake we’re worried I want the cake so sometimes I go to a party and I can’t enjoy the cake because it’s too many things going on so I take the cake and I eat it in myself by
Myself when I get home very selfish I want to be left alone to eat this cake I don’t want have to deal with the fact that I have to tell the host you made me a delicious cake I don’t want to do that I want to just enjoy in my own vessels
Of reception I want to enjoy it selfishly right because that’s the way I was created I was created like an animal I wanted that’s we can’t help it but what we have to convince ourselves is that if we receive and we are intention is that we want to make sure that you’re
Happy we’re still going to receive we’re not going to end up with nothing because you want to give to me and so if you’re my friend you want to so if I’m worried about feeding you pizza I have to trust I have to have amuna I have to have faith and we’ll end
Here that you also going to want me to eat pizza so if we realize who Hashem is who God is and we say I’m GNA worry about God and not worry about myself I’m going to worry about everybody else and not worry about myself we have to have
Faith that the other people in the group want to worry about me and they want to give to me so I’m going to worry about making sure that everybody here has pizza and I have to have faith that everybody in this room is going to make
Sure that I have pizza and when we do that and we enter into that place that Unity that is the unity that we’re talking about in kala when we enter into that place we will see that is a truly the missing ingredient that makes everything in life worthwhile and brings
Peace and Harmony and balance to the world okay thank you very thank you very much thank you thanks guys okay how much long was that was that like an hour yeah too long what it was too long it was too long yeah cuz we’re a memory space I hope your recording
Just really but let me tell you something I didn’t you didn’t you didn’t tell me I I would have stop okay but I’m just saying for for the recording I hope that understand completely what you just said so hopefully I have on here and I’ll see
You want to give me the card and I’ll get it back to you somehow yeah okay I think I think the problem is with the Rafel is not doing anything um are you are you in a position to be able to upload them so here’s the
Issue so much coming come again if you please it’s so great that you’re here for my class I appreciate it so much and I like to that both ways no we should do it this microphone goes both ways yes next what I have to test it but maybe I’ll microphone here because I
Really want it’s very important that we talk it shouldn’t be like just one person talking be the
