When I was a college freshman, one of the main reasons I wanted to join a sorority was for the leadership opportunities it would provide me. I was heavily involved in various clubs and organizations in high school, and it was important to me to continue to pursue more leadership positions in college. I didn’t realize how sorority membership would become the center of amazing leadership opportunities, personal growth and jobs.
Today, as an incoming junior in college, I have had the privilege of serving three different leadership positions through joining a sorority. I am a campus tour guide and have served as the director of house management for my chapter, the vice president of marketing for Arizona State University’s Panhellenic Executive Board and now a content creator for NPC’s The Sorority Life. I would have never had these opportunities if it wasn’t for sorority life. All three of these positions have taught me so much about myself, my work ethic and my interests, but most importantly have reminded me why I am so passionate about sharing the sorority experience! I truly believe that is the most rewarding aspect of holding these positions.
In January 2024, I got the amazing opportunity to attend the 2024 College Panhellenic Academy in Indianapolis. This experience was truly unmatched. Not only did it drive my passion for my Panhellenic community, but it also connected me to sisters nationwide who continuously inspire me.
Nothing makes me happier than lifting up the women in my chapter and Panhellenic community. I believe that it is such an honor to hold these positions because they have given me so many wonderful opportunities to do good and foster the beautiful connections that I’ve made.
Joining a sorority not only opens you to a new world of connections with sisters, but it also amplifies into your everyday life! Sorority membership is the center of so many of the amazing experiences, personal growth and lessons I have learned in college. I will forever be indebted to my Panhellenic Experience, and all the growth and happiness that it has poured into my life.
