Planning Your End-of-Year Gift to the Phi Delta Theta Foundation
As the year draws to a close, now is the perfect time to reflect on the impact we can make together. As a member of Phi Delta Theta, you know firsthand the values we strive to uphold—Friendship, Sound Learning, and Rectitude. Supporting the Phi Delta Theta Foundation helps sustain these values and empowers future generations of brothers to benefit from the same remarkable opportunities. We invite you to make a meaningful impact by considering your end-of-year giving early this year.
Why Consider Giving Early?
For many, December is the busiest month of the year. By planning ahead, you’ll be able to ensure your gift is well-timed, tax-efficient, and impactful. An early contribution can maximize the support we’re able to extend to our chapters, scholarship funds, leadership development programs, and educational initiatives.
How You Can Give: A Few Options
The Phi Delta Theta Foundation offers various giving options to make your year-end donation both easy and strategic. Here are a few flexible ways you can contribute:
Cash Gifts
A cash gift is one of the simplest ways to give. Cash donations are immediately accessible to the Foundation, allowing us to address critical needs and plan effectively for the future. Your cash donation is also tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Stock Transfers
If you hold appreciated stocks, donating them directly to the Foundation is an effective way to make a significant gift without incurring capital gains taxes. By transferring stock, you can support Phi Delta Theta’s mission while potentially receiving favorable tax benefits. Please consult your financial advisor to explore how this might work for your situation.
IRA Rollovers
For our members aged seventy and one-half or older, IRA rollovers are an excellent way to give. By making a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) directly to the Foundation from your IRA, you can satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) without it being counted as taxable income. This option not only benefits the Foundation but also offers significant tax advantages.
Other Giving Options
We also accept contributions through Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs), matching gifts from your employer, and estate planning arrangements. Each of these methods can amplify your support for the Foundation and help secure a lasting legacy for Phi Delta Theta.
Give Now and Join Us for the Interfraternal Giving Tuesday Challenge
On Tuesday, December 3, Phi Delta Theta is defending our title in the Interfraternal Giving Tuesday Challenge—we need your help! Your early gift today counts toward our participation! This year, Phi Delta Theta is competing against more organizations—SAE, Sigma Chi, and PIKE to name a few. By making a gift now, you’re joining a powerful movement to show the collective strength of our brotherhood.
Your early gift not only helps us stand out in this friendly challenge but also positions us to access matching gifts and special incentives. Last year, thanks to our Giving Tuesday donors, we were able to give out an additional $78,000 in scholarships. Imagine the impact we can achieve together by pooling our contributions!
