Tim Becker Honored with 2025 Samuel V. Stone Chapter Advisory Board Chairman of the Year Award

Phi Delta Theta proudly presented the 2025 Samuel V. Stone Award to Tim Becker of Pennsylvania Mu at Widener University, recognizing his remarkable leadership and longstanding commitment to the Fraternity as an exceptional chapter advisory board chairman.

Presented by Jason Schwemer, Widener ’12, the Samuel V. Stone Award is presented annually to the most outstanding chapter advisory board chairman across North America. Named in honor of Brother Samuel V. Stone, the award highlights advisers who demonstrate extraordinary involvement, mentorship, and leadership within their chapter, campus community, and the General Fraternity.

This year’s recipient, Tim Becker, Widener ’08, has served the Pennsylvania Mu Chapter in various advisory roles for over seventeen years. His impact has been felt deeply by the hundreds of young men he has guided during that time. Known for being “passionate, available, and dedicated,” Tim embodies the ideal traits of a mentor, creating an environment where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to be their best.

Under Tim’s steady leadership, the chapter has reached historic milestones. It has become the largest fraternity on campus, consistently achieving the highest GPA among campus fraternities, surpassing the all-undergraduate GPA average, significantly increasing its community service involvement, and maintaining a strong on-campus housing presence. Yet, beyond these impressive accomplishments, Tim has cultivated a culture of accountability, character, and true brotherhood that extends well beyond college years.

“I can speak personally to the impact Tim has had, as he was my own chapter advisory board chair at the beginning of my Phi Delt membership. He instilled in me a deep pride in this brotherhood—something I still carry with me today,” Jason Schwemer said.

Phi Delta Theta is proud to recognize Tim Becker as the 2025 Samuel V. Stone Chapter Advisory Board Chairman of the Year—a brother whose service and influence have left a lasting legacy at Pennsylvania Mu and across the Fraternity.
