Young Alumni Are Changing the Game for Phi Delta Theta
At the Phi Delta Theta Foundation, one of our greatest privileges is working alongside philanthropists who share a passion for shaping the future of our Fraternity. These donors represent a wide range of careers, life experiences, and ages—but recently, a powerful trend has emerged among supporters of Campaign 2030: A Greater Version for Tomorrow.
Historically, campaign donors were often well-established in their careers and financially secure. Today, a new generation of Phis is stepping forward. Recent graduates and early-career professionals are honoring their Phikeia Oath by leaving the Fraternity better than they found it—proving that impact doesn’t have to wait.
“As a first-generation college student, Phi Delta Theta gave me a sense of belonging and opened doors I never imagined. Giving back now is my way of ensuring that opportunity exists for the next brother who needs it.”
Jeremy Hutzel
This wave of younger philanthropists signals a sustainable future for the Phi Delta Theta Foundation. Eager to make an early difference, these donors are investing in chapter-specific funds like the Oxford Fund, which helps members attend the Kleberg Emerging Leaders Institute, and first-generation scholarships, which open doors for leadership development and educational opportunities.
“Giving back early wasn’t a question for me. Nevada Beta helped form my character, my leadership, and my sense of mission. Monthly giving is my way of honoring that impact and investing in the next generation of Brothers who will go on to shape our Fraternity, our communities, and our country”
Mateo Portelli, UNLV ’25
Others are embracing the power of monthly giving, creating a compounding effect that fuels long-term growth. Mateo, a recipient of multiple scholarships and a graduate fellowship, attended the McKenzie Family Presidents Leadership Conference and experienced firsthand the generosity of Phis before him. Through his own meaningful contributions, he is ensuring that future generations enjoy the same opportunities.
Why Now? Giving Tuesday Is the Perfect Moment
There’s no better time to join this movement than Giving Tuesday. On December 2, Phi Delta Theta will rally brothers worldwide to make an impact together. Whether it’s your first gift or the start of a monthly commitment, your contribution—no matter the size—helps us defend our title in the Interfraternal Giving Tuesday Challenge and fuels programs that shape leaders for life.
Ready to make your mark? Be part of the wave of young alumni building a greater version for tomorrow by making a donation.
