Universities and colleges just to cater to us as our big brothers meant a lot to me since my freshman year at Clark Atlanta University has exposed me to many great opportunities I have been professionally developed and impacted by CAU so I will always always have a dear
Place in my heart for my institution in school I gained the world view of that expanded my base I went to Howard University and there they taught me about my past they taught me how it impacts my present and how it would prepare me for the future I think
It’s so important for us to be able to have a world view that sees outside of ourselves that sees the world as our world it’s not just those people over there we are all connected we are one and that’s one of the things that my college education did for me I think
What hbcus what we fail to realize is that this is where it starts we talk about being billionaires we talk about being resourceful leaders we talk about giving to the community well these are the places that make great leaders so in terms of HBCU and its importance to our
Lives it has impacted me significantly to the point where I want to open my own HBCU college students please don’t stop keep going if you’ve earned your associate degree go for the bachelor’s if you’ve attained your bachelor’s degree go ahead and apply for the Masters if you did the Masters you can

Place to get a job bro like literally you could get a job here we have been praying uh for uh this young lady and I put it out on social media it went viral uh that uh her and her brother uh were just thrown to the streets and this
Morning we found her twin brother in Chicago yeah I wanted you to come on uh today uh number one uh because I got good news for you even while we’re praying that God says he prepares a table uh and so a new birth I want you I hope you’ll be as
Excited as I am as I know Jamiah will be when she finally hears this and as excited as uh her twin brother is going to be I wanted to share with you today uh that I have a full college scholarship for you and your sister uh for you to
Oh come on somebody ought to shout thank you oh my and that uh we want to stand in the Gap with you that you have a real Foster Family a foster family that’s not gonna throw you away a foster family that’s not going to act like you’re an inconvenience or burden but
New Birth is adopting you and your sister uh and we’re gonna cover you and we’re going to take care of you and we’re going to make sure that you and your sister become the adults that God has called you to be boys [Applause] that’s the kind of church that we are
It’s our College Sunday and I want to salute all of our young people who are here from colleges across the Atlanta metro area uh I interviewed that young man uh four months ago and he’s here on today come on [Applause] uh he just uh finished freshman week
Yeah yeah tell the people where you going And uh I need you all God is so good I I need you to give God glory because we have located his sister Y’all ain’t shouting good enough for me and uh we have moved him into his dorm and he is a fully uh connected uh to uh college and Campus Life uh his sister is located we’ve got her with family uh in Chicago uh because we wanted to give her
Some time to adjust but she is moving to come here in in January uh in January she will be uh fully uh enrolled I want to come on come on I uh owe a debt of gratitude to uh this amazing brother uh who captured this interview online
Downtown uh Atlanta and because of his post I was able to see it and our prayers were able uh to go forward to find this family and to get them connected uh into a black college life I am overwhelmingly grateful uh for you and uh come on come on
I want you very quickly to just talk about what’s going on in your mind when you did that interview you know her I mean his twin uh sister was out there homeless um just a quick backstory is that they were 18 years old um and this time last year they was
Bought down here from Chicago by their foster parents to be in a homeless shelter so they were homeless literally this time last year and one year from now due to circumstances Beyond any of our control um and due to the generosity of Pastor Jamal Bryant one year later they went
From being homeless out on the street now this young man is at Morris Brown College he’s got a full scholarship he’s got housing he’s got hope he’s got hope this is something that he’s never had in his life he’s never had hope he has hope now
And I thank you for that from the bottom of my heart man thank you I do New Birth would you give God glory this is what the church is supposed to be with the churches uh supposed to be about I am so grateful let me ask all
About college students would you lift up your hands please all of our college students you’ll lift up your hands get their hands what an amazing testimony if there’s somebody keep that hand lifted if there’s somebody with their hands lifted would you just point your hands towards them I want to pray
For them I want to cover them these four years are really going to try your man soul try your woman’s Soul God I pray for their mind I pray for their future I pray for their Destiny I thank you for their call thank you for covering them
God we pray that they will go further than any person in their family we stand on the promise that the worst is behind and the best is that yet to come and those of you who know you serve a God who can turn your life around in one

The Lord has given you whether that be income or a monetary gift for your birthday just from a random stranger giving that back to the Lord Utah because the Lord continuously blesses you throughout your life some of the things that are given to you don’t have
To be given to you and so you’re you’re tithing in order to say thank you for the opportunities and the blessings that you continuously send my way even when I miss typing I think one of the benefits of tithing is definitely uh like monetary management like managing your
Money being able to say okay I received this much I put aside 10 just getting into that practice of that because that also helps with savings and other things if you’re a student or a recent graduate from college or even high school I would say think of tithing as a way to
Um an investment for yourself an investment into the church because tithing also helps maintain the church and the people who volunteer and all the programs that are involved just last Saturday I was volunteering at the back to school shoe drive and because of the tithing and all the
People who are so generous enough to donate to the church we were able to exceed our goal of 2 000 shoes to 3 000 we were able to give shoes directly to schools because of generosity and of giving back if we all as a church participate in this I tithes challenge I
Know we’ll be able to exceed so many of the community goals that we already have in place we’d be able to offer more support to the community and probably expand our reach Beyond just DeKalb County but also so you know nationally and globally like Jada we are excited

Come on you got to do better than that I am grateful that uh over the pandemic we were able to bless one million families with groceries one million families with groceries and we didn’t stop just because the pandemic stopped it because the pandemic stopped I didn’t mean that the ministry
Work would come to an end on the first and third Saturdays our King’s table is a wide open and literally if you were here on yesterday you saw in excess of 600 cars of people pulling onto our campus how to receive a groceries come on you got to give God glory for that
I want you to know that uh your giving was able to be a blessing for young people who are in this room today who receive College scholarships who otherwise would not have had the opportunity to go but because we are a giving church we are able to do that a
Young man who you just met moments ago they are going to college both he and his sister are going to college not because the colleges are giving them scholarship your church is paying for that to happen come on y’all got to do better than that
I don’t know what’s wrong can I say that again I said your church is making that happen I am excited how can we say thanks for all the things that God has done for us because of your giving we were able to hire 10 college interns over the summer
Amen we are enlarging our territory those of you who are familiar with our King’s table would you lift up that hand you know what the king’s table does you know how it impacts how it makes a difference people are pulled up to our church they pop their trunk and they
Receive a groceries that would sustain them for two weeks uh with fresh produce and uh protein and fresher vegetables that is able to sustain them and we’re doing something different for this fall I hope you’ll be as excited about it as I am of the king’s table will be open as
It has been here on our campus but once a month we are taking the king’s table to the Atlanta University Center for students at Clark Morris Brown Spelman and Morehouse so that they will have food in their dorm y’all ain’t saying nothing to me so that they will have the
Toiletries that they need so that they know they’ve got a family that is covering them and is standing in the Gap give and it’ll be giving back to you press down not shaken together and running over what you make happen for other people God will make it happen for
You God loves what kind to give up come on what kind to give up I’m glad to give because God gave me something to give he gives seed to the sower ladies and gentlemen we are excited about the opportunity to give every person who is absent of an envelope you’re in need of
It would you lift up that hand of those of you who are giving electronically digitally on the lower thirds of the screen uh you can find how it is that you can give to give the five texts to play uh or even on Zell of those of you
Writing a check you can write it out to New Birth all of us are going to be able to give but together it is not equal giving it is an equal sacrifice how many of you come on Motown how many of you remember how you struggled while you
Were in college Trump I mean it was ramen noodles every night Come on talk back to me I I want every person we’ve got a responsibility to make sure that the next generation is able to live in a much more comfortable place than where it is that we found ourselves let’s
Prepare ourselves to give knowing that that you have seen the evidence of the Harvest of how it is that new birth continuously reinvests into the community reinvest into people’s lives and reinvest into the future of our people would you lift up your envelope or your phone however it is that you
Were given please do not do not put off till tomorrow what it is that you can do today those of you who are watching online get up get up right now go find how it is that you are going to give I want you to give in this moment I want

Black workers or the assignment of many or low-paying jobs it is clear we are in need of a miracle that when it is that we are uh when we look at the real estate discrimination displayed in our housing market being denied access to certain neighborhoods being charged higher rents and interest rates on
Mortgages faulty property appraisals redlining practices where lenders would refuse to promote loans and insurance to certain areas based on racial makeup it is clear that we are in need of a miracle but I’ve got good news despite what’s going on in culture despite what’s going on with our colonizers
Despite what’s going on in Calamity with the Calamity despite the Cutthroat climate we serve a God that specializes in turning messy Moment In The Miracles I said we serve a God that specializes turning messy moments in the Miracles and maybe sometimes we need it to be we
Need to be reminded of the miracle that we are through our ancestors the fact that we survived the Middle Passage the fact that we survived segregation the fact that we survived Jim Crow the fact that we survived literacy tests and institutionalized racism and blatant racism and even 45 it is clear that we

His paralysis or was it a series of situation that resulted in his paralysis uh can I bring this from Antiquity to modernity notice if you will that could it be Jesus just because he was on a bed doesn’t mean that this was physical paralysis you’ll get it can I use speculative
Theology or what uh the old saints were called my Sanctified imagination could it be that maybe he wasn’t he maybe he was physically paralyzed or maybe he was paralyzed by his worries and woundedness that made him feel worthless maybe maybe maybe maybe he was emotionally paralyzed I don’t know I
Don’t know maybe have you ever felt paralyzed that you find yourself in a moment to where you should be moving but your life is on pause have you ever found yourself in a moment to where because of your condition all you know is that a part of you that should be
Working is stuck all you know is that one part of you should be working and the other part of you is not working I meant I know how it feels to be parallel and maybe you don’t want to tell the truth maybe you don’t want to tell the truth at the fact that
Sometimes life be life in in such a way out to where you can identify with this man in the text but I know how it feels to be parallel I know how it feels to be paralyzed after having uh to go how to get your siblings food and walk them to
School and try to sit down and learn and try and go from family members house to family members house just to have adult supervision and have a hot meal and when you get overwhelmed when they get overwhelmed with you taking you down uh to the neighbor’s house just so that you
Can have uh some parental supervision I know how it feels to be paralyzed I know how it feels to be paralyzed when your house gets broken into by The Neighborhood game by some of the students that you went to school with some of the ones that someone went to
School and others dropped out and having to fight the peer pressure of joining the neighborhood gang just so that you can protect your sister uh from uh from uh while your dad is at work I know how it feels to be paralyzed I know how it feels to be paralyzed when
Uh you move from the inner city uh to when you move to the suburbs after getting kicked out of your high school and uh for poor academic performance and bad behavior resulting in two uh 10-day suspensions and when the principal tells you that there is no possible way that
You can get into college let alone graduate I know how it feels to be I know how it feels can I just tell you my can I tell you I know how it feels to be paralyzed after finally proving everybody wrong getting into a four-year University becoming class president
After being on a trajectory to become SGA president and here’s my story returning from a premier internship and getting arrested for the wrong choice wrong relationship and bad decision I know how it feels to deal with being paralyzed I know how it feels to be paralyzed from uh peer pressure and
Feeling like you should be further in your career after your exposure and uh this is for about the real this is for the real people in the room uh smoking enough weed that you can start an urban farm I know how it feels to be paralyzed and the fact that I’m
Standing before you today I am a testimony I am a testimony that where you start is not where you’ll end I said I’m a testimony that where you start is not where you’re going to end and this is for about a thousand of you that will shout that verse 24 is your

But he needed the help of some helping hands to get him to Jesus he was so overcome by his condition that he could not be left alone but he needed 24 hours assistance he was in a serious situation and the text says behold men
But in a bed a man and behold men born in a bed a man and behold men but you know I want to suggest to you in the struggle that you need some people that will help you you need some friends that will swipe you in the calf
Until you get your meal plan without looking at you sideways you need some friends that will let you sleep on the floor in their dorm until you get your housing straight you you need some friends that will help you with some groceries until your care package comes
In you need some friends that will give you gas money until your refund comes in David had Jonathan Jesus had Peter and in essence you need some friends that are cognizant of your condition clear about the connection committed to the connection but don’t try to use your condition as a statement of your
Character you need some friends that will help you and not harm you you need some friends that will improve you and invest in you and not ignore you you need some friends that will equip you and not empty you you need some friends that will position
You and not pacify you you need some friends that will minister to you and not mess with you and your prayer in this next season ought to be Lord send me some friends are you here with me today and move out the fake ones Luke give me some of God before this service

I’m gonna be able to touch all of the bases I’m telling you you Jesus when the school assigned you a roommate that you can’t stand you need Jesus when you’re trying to get all of your work done but you’re stressed about what’s taking place back at home I need
You to come get through all of this crowd I want you to make the best decision of your life I’m telling you this is more important than choosing your major this is more important than deciding which school you were going to go to the most important decision you’ll
Ever make in your life is making Jesus the head of your life I’m telling you it’s the most important decision and once you make that decision all things will work together for good to those that love him and are called according to his purpose would you all
Do me a favor please I want you to please talk to somebody who has on some college paraphernalia if they got on the T-shirt I want you to go talk to them real quick ask them how they saved ask them do they have a church home ask them
Have they given their lives over to God ask them are they in the place where they’re growing after you’ve done that I want you to talk to somebody College paraphernalia on People are old don’t mean that they saved amen y’all ain’t say it’s a lot of old fools running around but I need you to get right with God and I need you to do it right now would you give God some Glory as they continue to come

Testimony we didn’t think that we got this intern and when elder Mary gave us the call we were dumbfounded we were we were honored I think all of us are praising God but when we got here your team taught us business but they also taught us spirituality
You all treated us and gave us so much love and on behalf of all the interns even the ten that are not here we want to say that we love you we appreciate you and we we just want to honor you now we did get you something it is in the mail

In the Supreme Court they stop student loan forgiveness they are eroding voting rights all over the country including Georgia with new laws yet there has been no national gathering to stand up against it where has been the response where has been our community coming forth with other communities saying we
Will not sit still and let you erode what was gained 60 years ago uh this weekend so that is why we’re coming by the thousands to say not on our watch and we regard respect and we give our uh praise to what happened 60 years ago but
We’re going to fight on what we’re facing the 60 years uh later and that is why everybody needs to be at Lincoln Memorial with us 11 o’clock next Saturday you’re on the program to be one of the speakers those that were the faith leaders that joined

Criminal justice and you’ve been fighting for prison reform and for liberty and justice for all black men even in this congregation if they have a charge they can’t get a job they can’t get housing but now we got somebody running for president they got over 20 indictments uh what does that say about
Criminal justice in America it says that when you can have a man with 91 combined uh indictments against him uh in four different districts and he be leading in the polls that those that have been preaching Lord order to us were meaning Law and Order for only
Us not them Donald Trump you know I grew up in Brooklyn New Yorkers you know Dr Bryant and uh I used to walk to the subway and I was a boy preaching some of my friends who got in trouble you say remember I need to talk to you I caught
A case I’ve never had somebody say to me I caught four cases this is unprecedented this man has caught four cases and is leading to be president United States Rudy Giuliani who locked up more people as mayor in the black community than anybody uh so we’re seeing the lawlessness we’re not only
Going to stand up for Black America we really have to stand up and save this country from itself but at the same time it is ironic that Donald Trump bought out ads to call for the execution of the Central Park five five young black and brown boys who are
Innocent of a rape of a white woman and they went to jail for nothing and we proved it later to be wrong and now Rudy Giuliani who locked up people indiscriminately now they faced upon Justice and many of us have had to fight them we’ll be standing there watching it
So it reminds me of Psalms 37 fret not thyself because of evildoers neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity because they sell soon God didn’t give us a date he didn’t tell us what season he said soon so when they arraigned them when Trump surrenders
