Before we get started completely with our program we have three students from our own campus that would like to mention some things in regards to how they look at black Greek life and how it has motivated them to this point so without further Ado we have some students that would like to say
Something my name is Katie Mitchell I would like to go to college and seek membership in a story will help you achieve academic excellence hello my name is I would like to go to college and think membership and Authority for helping develop a passion for service Middle School I would like to this
College and think membership to the fraternity will help me and actually become a leader in my community thank you good morning good morning as a before we can start everybody again Mr comment a round of applause it’s important to God please forgive me I I actually I’ll give you a little bit of insight on after five but it was actually the first um organization of the D9 founded in 19 up to six uh to give you kind of an idea of what that looked like our organization was found in Cornell
University in Ithaca New York so is anyone in here know what state was abolished somebody come on what was it what was it close 1865 1865. so it kind of get you some perspective the the organization that I belonged to our cloudford was actually founded in 1906. so if you take this small group of black black men that found it at access University associate group and then if they went from a
Social group to a fraternity and these brothers came together because they were on a pwi predominantly white University and I identified with that because I actually went to John Carroll University um so what we do as an organization we’re usual service we serve our communities
First of all service of all we try to we sell transcend all but but basically when it comes to the defined nine we are all brothers and sisters all right brothers and sisters with one purpose and that’s to serve our communities it’s funny that’s how Mr Mr Coleman and I met
He saw my license plate I had uh my letters on play it’s time to do it out from my gambling outfit he’s like oh I’m impoundment oh wow so we kind of connected that way and he actually knows my high school coach I’ve been a Cleveland High School person the
Cleveland Heights High he and my coach actually are part of the safe photography um what else can I say about the uh organization oh so big thanks you may know a part of my organization um anybody heard the name of uh Martin Luther King Jr Martin Luther King Jr uh Gary Morgan
