Hey guys welcome back to my channel so today’s video I’m gonna be talking to you guys about some d9 slang or Devine line slang that may help you when you’re pursuing the organization that you want to join make sure you subscribe to my channel give me a thumbs up and comment
Down below so first things first I’m making this video because I know what I was first looking at sororities or when I was first looking to join a sorority I didn’t quite understand all the lingo and all the things that they were talking about or the things that they
Said so I’m not making this video to take away from your learning process when you do pursuit of sorority or fraternity that you’re looking at but I am making this video to arm you with some knowledge so that you’re not completely lost or completely throwing aside not understanding what their being
What they’re talking about and what what type of language they’re you know using hopefully I don’t have anything on my teeth because I just got done eating some pizza because I was so hungry so I’ve jotted down some some different verbage or sayings or words that we use
In the d9 just to give you a basis of some of the things that you may hear and may not understand right off the bat but this is just to help you to arm you with knowledge don’t take this as a video that I’m saying oh my god like you don’t
Have to join a sorority to learn these things I learn about these things this is just to let you guys know what things are so that you’re not a deer in headlights completely at least at the beginning to start this video it wouldn’t make sense if I didn’t talk about first d9 so
That’s the slang that’s used on campuses d9 no one says divine 9 I mean some people use it but d9 is basically the black sororities a fraternity so when you hear d9 just think of all your black fraternities and sororities so the next kind of verbage that you may hear often
Are Neos and pros so a pro or pro fight is someone that came before so think of this person as the big sister or the big brother in layman’s terms and then your Neos are people that they brought in or the people that came after them so they’re the children or the littles
Of whatever you want to call them so let’s say I’m so currently I’m a pro so me I bought in certain girls and there are my Neos so they are littlez if you want to say it like that so when you hear Pro and Neil just think
Of big and little or think of mother daughter father son Big Brother little brother whatever but just know that’s their relation and that’s what those terms mean it’s a touch on what you probably are currently if you’re not in a sorority you’re in GDI so when you
Hear GDI it just means – got-damn individuals so that means that you’re a solo pretty and not put in for organization you’re not part of a sorority or fraternity so if someone calls you a GDI I mean it really depends on what tone they use it can be
Insulting if someone’s like oh my god get on my face you’re such a GDI or look at that GDI you know I mean it could be an insult but it can also be just a descriptive term to let people know that you’re not in an organization so they’ll
Be like oh he’s a GDI or she’s a GDI so that’s just what that term means GDI means goddamn individual so the next time we’re going to go over is paper so paper is a term that you may hear a lot on your campus so paper just means that
That person did not pledge the organization so they didn’t have an underground process they just went through the official process the physical in my P process which is another term we’ll talk about in one second so being paper it just means that you didn’t pledge or you’re not real or
You’re not made so that’s what paper means so like I said I’m gonna talk about MPM IP it’s been so long okay since I use that term so in my view process is the membership intake process so this is the official process that is sitting down from headquarters and this
Is how every person is supposed to join the organization officially now I know I mentioned a little bit of made when I was describing what paper is so made is someone who did go through the pledging process who went through the underground process and who did the you know the
Pledging that you guys hear about in the crown that isn’t really talked about but everyone knows like or you know you may hear hazing hazing is just pledging but hazing is kind of the negative connotation that goes with pledging so that can get a little confusing again I’m comment down below I’m
Confused to do with anything or if you have any further questions comment it down below because this may be a little confusing I’m trying to explain anything and it’s been a while since I’ve been off the yard so I’ve been out the game for a minute
Just just bear with me with this that term that you’re gonna hear um you’re not gonna hear this term until you’re in the organization so the term is financial so when someone is financial that means they’re active meaning they’re part of a chapter and they pay their chapter dues and their monthly
Dues they do things like that so their financial so for a lot of organizations or at least this video we’re going to be talking about the d9 specifically so with the d9 if you’re not financial you’re not allowed to participate in official events so you have to be
Financial to be active in a chapter or on a campus so the next two terms I’m gonna kind of knock out in the same description is line and Charter so Charter means to just start your own chapters and in basically like my chapter um and my college it was
Chartered by my charter mothers which I know them very well I love them they’re great women so they started that chapter so chartering a chapter is basically just starting a chapter so what’s your line the line is the people that aren’t joining the organization so if you’re on
Line to join organization that means basically you have let’s say your one two three whatever number you’re online you have my sisters or line brothers and that means these are the people that are joining the organization along with you at the same time going through the same
Process and the same things with you so there are your line sisters or line brothers in your online together to join the organization if that makes sense hopefully that make sense to you the other terms are do so dues is basically just your financial payment so be in
Organization so your dues are just your membership fees your regular like um it’s just a membership fee so like you know you purchase something and you may subscribe to something you pay a monthly due on it basically when you join a sorority attorney you have a you may
Have a semester do a quarterly do something like that so that’s what dues are it’s just your payment to go to our community service events on campus events trips conferences that’s what you do is cover another term I wanted to cover is grad so when people say grad
Grad Drive you would never say graduate chapter because I don’t know I guess d9 we just like to shorten everything into little quick term so grad is basically your graduate chapter so it’s the chapter that is with the undergrad chapter as you know most universities and colleges have a
Graduate school so women that have graduated undergrad they no longer aren’t in the undergrad chapter they then can go and join a Grand Chapter and I’m gonna make a video on how to join a graduate chapter in a whole nother video cuz I wasn’t a grad chapter and whether
Or not is for you I got you on that I got just this the last few terms I want to cover I’m gonna go over them fairly quickly because my tea is seeping and I want to drink it I’m kind of parched so the next term that you’re gonna hear is
Fret and soar these are really basic to define fret is a brother so your frat brother say hey Fred what’s up Fred it’s your brother so army sister so your soror is your sister so they say if you hear somebody say hey storm or what’s up soul it means
He says what’s good sis that’s that’s basic terms quick and easy another term you’re gonna hear a lot is on the yard so all this means is that they’re on campus and they’re active on campus so if they say oh have you seen the Zetas they’re only yard this
Semester or we run the yard that just means that their own campus and they’re active and you see them around so that’s what that means so the last three times I want to go over is parent probate and drop-line so para para familia you know para familias everyone knows what
Paraphernalia is so we just shorten it down to para Perry you may hear that term so that all means prep in there so that’s just all the stuff that you wear that has your organization on it your parents so if you might have a t-shirt that says Zeta Phi Beta and had this
Insane if I beat up in you know if you’re lying jacket is para so it really just depends on what you’re wearing but that is all pairing a pair that you’re wearing on campus and it’s just what your Greek letters is or your Greek colors associated with it so another
Thing I wanted to touch on like I just mentioned was a propane so a probate is just your show you’re showcasing this is when you’re gonna see the people that will earn that line come out to the community come out to the campus and introduce themselves so this is just a
Showcase other people that were online that are joining the organization lastly dropping line so you won’t hear this term until you’re online or that you’re that pro fight and you have a line so dropping line just means somebody that quit someone that no longer wanted to join an organization
And you may drop them off your line if you feel like they’re not equipped to be on your line anymore so this basically just means you no longer want them to join your organization they drop line but there’s more to it a person can drop line and
Still join the organization if there’s a pledging process or other things going on they may drop line of the pledging process but then still joined officially through the MIP process there’s a lot of layers to this and that’s why you learn it as you join but this is just a quick
Glazed-over of the entire thing or a quick glaze over of some terms that I wanted to talk to you guys about so again you’re not a deer in headlights because I definitely was so now that you’re armed with a little more knowledge about trends that you may here
On campus you won’t feel to loss or to confuse I hope this video helped you out I hope I see you in the next one you subscribe before you left and as always stay royal bye guys you know okay doctor I just will do don’t know yip-yip for
