What’s up everybody it is your boy Cory today I’m gonna be talking to you all about MP 8c resume tips I don’t need to know what to put on your resume especially when you’re trying to join an MP AC organization i’ma tell ya what we’re looking for
I’m gonna tell you how to construct it and i’ma tell y’all some key words that you need to put on there so just in case somebody is glancing over they can pick out a key word for you so I’m dropping some more jewels some more gems for

And that will show you at least over 50 plus videos to help you get into the a PHC organization of your choice so make sure you check that playlist out because most of other you will find some key information in there and if you do not
See a video that you’re looking for in there definitely leave a comment in the comment section if you have a question anything like that I’m happy to answer for you so let’s get into the video All right so most like whenever you go to join an MPAC organization you will have to submit a resume whenever you’re preparing a resume for NPHC organization look at make sure you outline the things that you’re currently into the things that you’ve done in the past don’t list
The things that you’ve done in the past and then the things that you’re currently doing listen in order in which you’re currently doing it and then at the very bottom should be something that you’re definitely not doing right now that makes sense if you’re in student
Government now but you used to be in say a marketing club two years ago that should be towards the bottom don’t put that at the top want everyone to review and read what you’re currently doing and how you can currently be an asset to their organization now what you
Did in the past even though we do want to see what you did but once what you’re currently doing right now on campus but one thing you need to make sure that’s on your resume of course this is your major and also I would say put your GPA
On there somewhere make sure you put your graduation year projected graduation year on there so people can know if you saw more junior all that good stuff now also on there of course you got to put your name of course you got to put your email address contact information
You got to put that stuff boom you don’t have to put your address on there Nonie that’s kind of creepy but I don’t they don’t matter in this situation so just put your name and the email make sure you put all that contact information in there now back to what you’ve been
Involved in this is really going to help your resume stand out the things that you’re currently involved in have been involved in is going to make your resume stand out so don’t forget nothing because the thing is once you’re toughening your application of joining a PHC organization you can add anything to
What you can you can’t do that you have to sit down for hours and make sure all your bases are covered so don’t just say oh yeah I did this I did this think thoroughly to make sure that you’re putting everything that you’ve done on that resume or at least make sure you
Put everything that will make you stand out or nail if you help your grandma rake some leaves in there you mowed the lawn for your next-door neighbor that happened to be a hundred years old now I mean if that’s the only thing you have put it on there but don’t
Prioritize that over something to say Relay for Life or you know sister care or something like that like put that stuff on there first but whenever it comes to you being involved on campus make sure you put all your clubs on there make sure you put if you’ve been
Involved say an executive committee or if you’re a second board member like a secretary or president or something like that put that on there but also put how you being in that role helped out with that organization like you be a secretary help this or you be in Community Service chair help the
Organization get the most community service hours you know like make sure you connect the dots that’s the thing with resumes you gotta connect the dots you can have a multitude organizations on there but if they don’t connect you don’t tell a story about you for example
If you are a nursing major and you’re in a nursing sorority you’re in the nursing Honor Society or you’re in a club with health professionals like all that is connecting the dots and it makes sense it makes sense that hey this person is in all this because they’re trying
They’re serious about being a nurse they’re serious about being professional and getting that professional experiences and making Nexxus they’re serious about that and do the resume that can see a lot but if you’re a regular old person and you just in all kind of different type of clubs
It could look like you’re in those clubs just to say hey I’m in those clubs especially if you’re not an exec member you know like like if you’re not exactly member and you’re in all these clubs are you just a general member not doing that you’re just short of meetings that’s it
That wouldn’t look as good as somebody that’s in two organizations and their president in one and say a secretary and the other that looks way better than somebody that’s in a bunch of organizations but just go to meetings you know cuz we want to see on your resume that you can impact our
Organization as well like we want to make sure like if we see that you’re president on your resume we’re like okay this person is a leader and they might can bring those same leadership traits into our organization or you might be a community service chair okay well this
Person might be good thing for our community service area like we like to connect the dots and the only way for us to do that is if we know you in a personal level or if we look at your resume can see that but like I said
Please refrain from joining a lot of organizations just to make it look good on you join organizations because it makes sense join organizations on campus because you want to make a difference in that organization on one campus but don’t just join just say hey I’m a part
Of this and I need to be a part of organizations again a part of all NPHC fraternity or sorority don’t do that make it make sure it makes sense to you as a student don’t join a organization if it don’t make sense to you just because your friend joined the
Black Student Union you might not want to do that just because your friend is student government you might not want to do that but you might want to join say an art club or something like that if that’s you join the club but getting that Club experience and organizational
Experience will definitely help you out on your resume so make sure you put all of that on there and another thing we like to see on there of course is work experience do you have to happen on there’s a–there’s necessity no we know college students college students don’t work some
Costumes work some costumers crying off their refund check all year long you know just spending money that’s understandable you know I’m saying so it’s not a requirement but if you have a job definitely put it on there with us a part-time job I doubt you have a
Full-time job as a full-time student but if so put it on there but make sure you outline what you do at your job if you are a waitress or a waiter make sure you put down at you now aside from work experience we want to see some community
Service on that now this is some good things that you could put on there if you’ve been involved in community service or say the same community service organization for a while so say you do Relay for Life every single year you have a booth you help out with fried
Chicken fried fish to go towards cancer like I don’t know if that’s what you’ve been doing put it on your resume put it on there if you raised a certain amount of money for Relay for Life to help out in that regard put it on there can raise some money for
March of Dimes any for patients put it on there don’t leave that stuff out because the show is that you’re going above and beyond outside of your norm outside of what you usually do to help others and that always look good because our organization is really trying to help
The community if you could show this you’re helping the community as well most how you will bring that same mentality into our organization we wouldn’t have to teach you anything when you wouldn’t have to learn about nothing you already have that mindset embedded in you and that’s always good outline
How many hours you had outline if you raised any money outline how long you been doing it because we want to see longevity as well we don’t want to see that you just picked it up last year just to say hey I didn’t fit the hours of community service
Like I said in one of my other videos I write to see longevity and commitment if you’ve been doing community service with the same organization five years and you only give out 30 hours a month for something like that and it’s just longevity in this commitment that you’ve been doing that
You’re dedicated to it I rather see that because somebody that did community service at Salvation Army for 50 hours for a month or something like that you know so that’s just me no other MPAC organizations and other organizations I mean people in my organization you know look at things differently but that’s
Just me but make sure you put that on there as well last one for you my very last thing for you is put your accomplishments people miss out on just an opportunity so much if you made these lists put that on there if you made President’s List put that on there you
Want a University Award ambassador something put that on there because those accomplishments will make you stand out even if it’s an accomplishment outside of the university put it on there think about any community involvement and you reached an accomplishment outside of the University of you had a reward with your
Church something like that put it on there because it just shows something different you need to do this because especially with sororities now you got think about this sororities let’s put Delta Sigma Theta egghead you know they get a lot of interest they get a lot of interest so imagine 200 resumes
Maybe maybe they go through all up if they go through all them you think they really gonna go hmm-hmm-hmm no they’re gonna be flipping and then one key thing that stand out that’s gonna get set aside most likely you need to have the most impactful resume so make sure you
Put your accomplishments on there make sure you get your community service on there make sure you have your work experience and make sure you have your current involvement and what you’re doing like I said don’t got to put your ad dressing online not on there just put some contact information and you good
