Describe as your brother like is a person that’s there or a person that’s you know far as like is that person there far as connection connection-wise mentally or just doing stuff for you like giving you money like no it’s a base level of of the relationship that you have as friends
I understand that much and that’s that’s the way that i think you know that you have a mutual desire to see each other do well but then when it comes to brothers there’s like a there’s some kind of connotation of going above and beyond that transcends that bond or just being
Friends it’s like you really not only have they been like a constant in your life or been present but they’ve proven themselves they’ve like i said stood the test of time and above and beyond it’s not something that you meet someone and you cool with them and they said
Like you call them like your brother after a week or something like that it’s like nah this is like a friendship that’s been this the test of time and been through some pressure been through some stuff and you guys came through the other side and you know you could depend on that person
And i think that people use the word brother too flippantly like they they will call anybody your brother and i mean something just that people say casually too it’s like oh bro like when they’re talking to people but i think in order to really call someone my brother
That would have to be the condition that was met with like not only are we friends but we’ve been through something and then also they have it’s like it’s um one of the really important things is the the center of like your guys relationship like are they really there for your
Well-being or are they just here to talk about like the topic of the day or something like that like do they actually want to contribute to your well-being and see you achieve your goals and are they concerned about those kinds of things or is it just or did you watch
The patriots game last night those kind of things so i think that’s what separates like friends from brothers and that’s what makes somebody your brother okay okay anybody else want to answer now i’ll hear what you got what you got to say first and then i think we’ll go around the
Virtual table all right um what a piggyback that uh i agree with brian like 100 because um because like a brotherhood is something you can’t buy like like you can buy a friendship you know you got 69 for that example buying friendships and that didn’t go out as well
So you can tell a difference from a person that actually has like a genuine relationship for us like a brother versus somebody that’s just around because the person that’s just around their leech they ain’t really trying to see you grow they just trying to get a come up off of you

And uh josh for example but for me like i have a select group of friends i consider my brothers you know these are guys that i’ve considered you know or have not considered but guys i’ve known for you know 10 plus years like not to say that there’s a
There’s a time time frame um requirement for me to consider you consider it but what i considered is based off of over the course of the time that i’ve known you you’ve never switched up you know there’s never been anything that you’ve said that has had malice behind it and i
Think the one thing that truly uh like defines you know brotherhood for me is somebody that’s in your corner that’s willing to tell you about your [ __ ] like i think comment like so frequently when it comes to just if it’s material uh goods if it’s women it’s a job you know career advancement
Aspirations whatever you know we’re we’re notorious for being i’m not us in the sense of anybody here but us as human beings like we’re notorious for that comfort zone you know it’s kind of like a sense to where if we were walking around blind we would essentially be around a whole bunch of
Yesterday and so i think you know just with you know i think all of us are really articulate you know in the sense of what what we uh say how we say it you know what we want out of life like we are pretty good at surrounding ourselves
With individuals that are going to tell us when we’re wrong or they’re going to push us to strive you know in you know directions that are most beneficial for us so i think for me you know just off the off the cuff of that and just off of the basics of what i
You know look at brotherhood as and how i interact with you know the guys i consider my brothers like that’s been the main thing for me like just the the basic off the cuff uh answers like you know through high school college you know ups and downs you know multiple relationships
Kids like they’ve always had my best interests at heart you know they’ve always wanted to see me be good and you know even when i made decisions that were you know could technically be against what they knew or expected of me they didn’t they didn’t pull that whole all right
Well you know i i’m out there like it wasn’t no it’s really no contingency on on it like they if you want to [ __ ] up they’re going to light the [ __ ] up but it’s going to be that i told you so fact they’re like like i said
There is no there’s no yes man in my opponent like if i do something you know that was ill-advised and you know we had the conversations about it like you know they’ll there’s a comfort factor but at the end of the day it’s like yeah i told you so
Like i think that may be the best determinant for when it comes to like being a friend versus a brother because a lot of the things that we said about friends that i would expect for brothers too it’s just like the mutual well-being and the support type of thing it’s like
Okay well if you can’t do those things i wouldn’t really consider your friend but when it comes to like the ability to tell somebody when they’re wrong and then also not only that but on the other end for you to be receptive of that and to know that it
Comes from a place of care and not trying to tear you down because i mean you can easily misconstrue that and that can ruin the relationship but if you guys have that level of understanding to where it does you can say you were wrong with this like this is a
Better way to handle this or you didn’t have to say this then i can say you know what let me consider this maybe he might be right about that and then say b yeah well brian you could be wrong about this but i thought you were saying that in a
Sense to like be like like new york like josh no i wasn’t taking a dig at josh but yeah the ability for me to be receptive to it i feel like that’s that’s equally important i think that that probably is the biggest deciding factor because
If you want to put these two on a scale like the brothers and friends brothers is something that’s more serious so you would think that there’s there’s more qualifications to it rather than just like a terminology and just saying this person is has been in my life for 10 years kind
Of like what you were saying is like the the the amount of time it shouldn’t be used to to establish that even though i think that if you call somebody your brother too quick you’re sending yourself a disappointment because you really don’t know that person’s character or you haven’t been in enough scenarios
To actually have have been able for them to have earned that title it’s just you saying it yes prematurely you don’t think a friend can um tell you when you’re doing something wrong absolutely but it’s just like the the expectation because i mean i think with a friend
They don’t they may or may not but with the brother they definitely will like that depending on what type of person it is correct so it’s just like i would like i guess it’s my expectation for the other person that’s on the other end of the relationship like a friend
I understand that you may or may not say something because of personal feelings but then like as a brother you really have expectations yes absolutely um i’m not i think when it comes when it comes to things like that with with multiple people and there’s there’s a degree of
Seriousness with it there’s something that needs to be put into place and understood by both people whether it be that kind of expectation or or something else but other than that like if you don’t have if you can’t expect that then why are you even why are you calling that person
Your brother then why are you calling that person your friend like there’s certain requirements to be met there’s certain things that make somebody your friend i said true oh are you asking me to answer your yes may answer your question like can a friend advise you yeah yeah absolutely yeah
Like there’s a lot of co-workers that i can truly say that you know i consider friends because they’ve displayed that they have my best interests at heart as far as like advancement within you know my current position does that mean that i see them as like brothers and sisters absolutely not
Because we really don’t talk outside of work but like in the confines of you know your little cubicles or your work floors or whatever like you know those are people that i consider my friends that have you know my best interest and of course you know there are the
You know the snakes lying around that you know want to try and steer you in the sense of saying like you know i’ve i’ve got this person to the next level kind of kind of ordeal you know that’s what you got to be worried of and saying like those people that are
Genuine in a sense of wanting to help you but disingenuous in the sense of what they’re getting what their uh motive behind it is right so you have to hang out with them in multiple settings too aside from them wanting to give them one in the best for you or them telling you
When you’re wrong basically that helps it’s like all the other attributes to it said it again there’s like different things that come with it like the different attitude groups it’s like all right for a friend it’s to it like i expect certain things from a friend to a
Certain extent like if i just met you i don’t expect you like like you guys sound swept you tell me what i’m wrong or whatever but you my brother that comes as a top priority plus that comes with no matter what you have my back and if you can
Being around and just communication all about like a strong communication gonna build strong relationships so i feel like the difference from that is primarily is the communication between a brother and a friend because friends you don’t have that much of a strong probably communication or strong yes strong communication you probably just
Have like you know work talk or something minor in common but with a brother you probably have more things in common but same not in common that like balance it out and wrestle it out josh to revisit your previous point you asked about them telling you if you’re wrong or not
I guess the best way to summarize it is that from the other person’s standpoint in the relationship a brother would be more invested in you than a friend would basically overall okay i mean what do you consider uh the differentiating factor i don’t know i’m just asking questions
Man but um as far as the actual question i know you asked about the question but um i first said i don’t i don’t really think it matter because it’s just a title like the same thing that separates a friend from the same thing it separates
A friend from a brother same thing that separates a best friend from a friend i feel because brothers and sisters are just close friends or best friends and i feel that there’s people that you’re closer to than others so and that’s what basically makes them your brothers or makes them your close
Friends basically so that’s how i feel about that plus i’m i mean calling someone your brother i know you didn’t mean it in an actual biological sense but always calling somebody your brother isn’t always like a positive too because sometimes like your brother could be some of the worst
People or your brother or your family could be some of the worst people that you know too so i do think it’s subjective and at the same time i do think it’s just the title but at the same time i think when you call somebody your brother you just basically label him as
Your close friend or best friend rather than just a friend so that’s really the separation i got from that before you guys got on larry was talking about the dynamic or the relationship between jay-z and kanye west and i think that that had some good points that we could
Probably discuss i would be curious for him to share his thoughts again all right me to start it off right now yeah all right so um before the call i was like um look at the relationship with jay-z uh and jay-z and kylie west right in the start yeah it probably seemed
Like jay-z didn’t really care about kanye but mainly it was just music it was more on the business side business effort after the business side got pushed to the side and the assets came close it was more of like yo just a big brother little brother scenario you literally hear
Jay-z kanye west so kanye west jay-z like kanye west sticking up for jay-z or jay-z seeing how creative and how brilliant kanye west is you even saw a glimpse of that in the oldest video they had it looked genuine they didn’t look scripted they looked actually genuine but fast forward to the years
Later that we are and now it’s like they’re separate you know it’s like yeah it’s more like when you get into a problem with your your with one of your best friends or one of your family members it’s like i still got love for you but just like right now we can’t be
Either in the same room or i just can’t talk to you while we’re in the same room so it’s it’s more of that type of vibe where when kanye west and jay-z come into play that’s from some of the stuff i’ve seen as a rape as a reason but overall
I i want to use depth as a prime example of like a celebrity brotherhood or celebrity role romance whatever you want to call it because that’s because that’s basically what it was you want to keep it a whole buck and then something to be honest with you
One of the things that i got from that grant they are high school celebrities who we don’t actually have insight into their personal lives aside from what the media shows and what they choose like we don’t know them on a personal level i think that illustrated one really good principle that
Differentiates friends from brothers is like the the concept of falling out or the act of falling out like that’s handled very differently among friends than it is with brothers because with a friend that could very well be the determination of friendship and you guys may pick up that things may change
But with a brother that’s that’s more so something that’s more constant it’s a more permanent uh established relationship it’s like okay well there may be ups and downs to it but that’s gonna be your brother regardless whereas with a friend it’s like okay well something could happen and you’d be
Less like or less likely or less inclined to hold on to the relationship on both sides those are my thoughts on that anybody else joshua muted you don’t think they could have been brothers at first and then just had a huge falling out to the point
That he was like you know we just we’re just not that type of person it’s not the same people anymore you don’t think they still could be brothers though i mean yeah yeah they can’t because that happens in expense as well because uh it’s just like when you know like i’m
Putting like this this is just like when you’re in a long distance not long just but long-term relationship with a girl that you actually care about it’s like you guys come to a mutual agreement to end it it’s like it’s no bad blood i’m not upset at you
You’re not upset at me but far as being together i mean you can’t be together but i still got love for you that’s how i kind of look at it’s like we can’t really be around the same room or probably do a song together anymore but
I still got love for you i’m not gonna talk bad about you you said my yeah like you see my brother at the end of the day but as far as that relationship that we once had that probably is either going to take time to get
Or just it’s over just can’t get that time back it’s like it’s either built from the time that we lost and the time that we had uh like falling out in just either good for that or just stay how it is and we just brothers and move from it

Thoughts and what are your thoughts on that oh that kind of brotherhood and why did you choose not to uh i’d go first on that um i didn’t choose it because one for what i saw like at least like the people i call my brothers
I can have my moments where i want to disappear and just like teach myself i feel like with a brotherhood you’re like a greek life-wise it’s like you’re around them a lot you’re like constantly and you’re doing whatever they say it just i want to
Put out there as far as like the hazing is bad but understand far as like to get to that position of being noticed it’s like you do you have to go through a lot and if you’re my brother in real life not in the like greek form
If you’re my brother in real life if you’re just consistent you don’t gotta do too much you gotta do a lot you don’t gotta get try to bring the moon to me nothing like that it’s like yo just keep your word that’s all you have to do and stay true
With a greek life just like you gotta basically try to bring me the moon and try to impress me and keep your word and not in just a friendship expense but i saw it as like it was more of a business expense as well so it’s like great life i can say you
Get more exposure to your broader view of what a brother can be and you just come together and you help each other out but more on the business side instead of just like the other parts like yeah i know your family you know that’s why it’s easy and stuff like that
There’s definitely benefits to it um i wasn’t i didn’t want to pledge just because i’m not i’m not a fan of like i’ve heard some of the initiation things about where they would tell you things to do and like somebody could just come in your room and take your shoes because of
Your brother and that’s that’s what you had to do so like the concept of having to buy your way into anything i don’t want to buy myself into any kind of relationship with any kind of person but i do see where some people who may not have those those strong support
Networks those brotherhoods of their own or those really close friends that they may want to do that some people who may not be have like really uh some people may have issues with stepping out their comfort zone that could be beneficial to them it also has the benefit of like networking in
The future but just for the the price of i i felt it was like buying friends and other people may feel differently on that people who are actually in fraternities in greek life or in uh i guess sisterhood that’s that’s a different topic but it’s along the same lines
But i think that you know there’s pros and cons for but it wasn’t something that was for me per se that’s what deterred me from it but i do think that um there there can be positives that come out of it i feel like they’re what you what they’re doing is
They’re taking people who come together and they may not be on the same page and it’s they’re they’re manufacturing the brotherhood it’s not something that just grew from a mutual understanding or or shared experiences over time organically and i think that’s the huge difference and that was
One of the deciding factors of mine i didn’t feel like i needed that did you want to go there i can’t hear you nah that’s the pledge yourself is not something i don’t know a lot about wasn’t interested in that stuff in college so i didn’t know the pros or the
Cons of it uh yeah that was the same with me uh i honestly still don’t know much about any of that that’s really what like the first time i even heard about when it was like dancing and like the corridor i was i didn’t i had no idea anything about the greek
Fraternity or anything like that so i just never was interested in that uh and plus even if i did know about it i probably wouldn’t want to do it for the same reason you said brian it’s not genuine it’s just like you have to buy your way into

At uh this is a mild one up it’s just some of the stuff i’ve heard from people who are actually in fraternities like not just well like white and black fraternities but i’m just leaving at that um what some of those real plant plain like a mild example that was something stupid
Was like they made the pledges eat oreos but they took the cream out of it and put toothpaste in it and it’s just like why do i have to do that yeah why don’t i have to do that for you to make for you to consider me your brother
I feel like that’s dumb and i only want to say the other one i seen another one i said i say when i saw it was like three o’clock in the morning at the pier at whitehurst and i’m walking from it only thing i see is people in roads
And one dude and swimming trunks about to jump up here and it was like about 40 degrees at night the other way i said this is nothing they said this man had to do the polar plunge to get accepted is that with like all the fraternities like they have to do everything like
That and like alternatives it’s a different haze for each fraternity mean like is it more extreme in the white fraternity than the black fraternities or it’s like all the time i’ve heard crazier stuff from the white fraternities for sure i’m just curious yeah i never knew much
About that so i was like yeah i think i did seem something like that like people were enrolled one time don’t go to you like late at night type thing but yeah but that show was on web jam yep sure it wasn’t a web jam also one of the things that deterred me
Too is i had cousins who had attempted to pledge in the past or yeah and part of that was like the hazing was a physical like beatings and so i’m not a fan of that i’m not going to let somebody hit me intentionally and just stand there and take
That i i’m not paying you money to beat me that just doesn’t it doesn’t make sense it doesn’t go all the way it’s not clicking and like a lot of them actually do that maybe brian youtube i’m not letting you bring me just because i thought that was optional
Uh yeah it’s optional but still the fact that you even decide to do that that’s bespoke but you’re desperate for anyone know the origin of it like where that came from uh the brand name or the fraternity most most of the ones that actually i see that i see are branded are actually
Cubes will make itself i haven’t seen any other fraternity brand themselves uh it’s um i think i’ve seen them it’s uh it’s one that one other one does it i don’t know the name of it i’m pretty sure but uh the history of it is like greek mythology egyptian mythology all of that
Intertwined in one if someone was formed like for like more of the black fraternities that was formed like 1920s to like 1930s and that’s how all that started but like maine mainly the white tourney that was made like late 1800s i want to say yeah watching going on the svu gives you
A bad feel about uh eternity so yeah i’m looking at like the the branding stuff is definitely intentional and no national fraternity officially condones the practice but it’s still complex i see i see people with the branding in public all the time and like i mean i understand that’s their
Commitment to their their organization but from a personal uh standpoint i couldn’t see myself putting a hot piece of metal on myself with any kind of insignia oh what that’s what that is what y’all were talking about the branding stuff and i thought it was like you know
Based off of your character qualities or whatever like you got like a specific name or some [ __ ] like if you was a [ __ ] [ __ ] no but you’re talking about where i’d be seeing people in the gym with that stuff i guess that’s just something that you

Me that that that is smart like no matter what you say no matter who you bring in because i know i know shaq is he’s just part of the fraternity when he was at lsu like you could bring in reagan you bring in the highest of the high i’m still gonna jump
There’s nothing you can tell me that this is gonna make me think that this was smart i mean don’t that leads into our next topic right how so because uh the bad brothers is oh yeah sure go ahead oh so for some people that don’t know uh it is bad brotherhoods out there
Or brotherhood that you probably don’t hear about there’s like secret um one of them is like is skulls and bones and that’s a brotherhood that one of our presidents is current like was in george bush he’s in that and but yeah that’s kind of weird on how like something
Go ahead no i was saying which george bush be good oh it’s crazy on how like even celebrities or politicians being these like secret uh brotherhoods or societies that that can cause them to have personal gains but it’s all bad intentions by adam so it’s just like
It goes back on the overall meaning of your brother or the person that you call you was group of people that you around type type dude what does the skull and bones thing what did they do that’s bad uh go ahead so i’m gonna tell you what i know
That’s that much is a fact and then larry could provide additional commentary on it so i do know that they are it’s like a senior law group at yale and so it’s like those they’re students and what exactly they do i’m not too privy on
But i think a lot of it is speculative in nature but larry knows more on that than i do all right so the part that is like people don’t know about uh all right so it’s like the skull and bones is just literally a logo skull and bones
And you got three two two uh and what they do is more things that are going on in the media right now for us like you’re hearing politicians uh being pedophiles or going to jail for uh sex trafficking and things of that nature it’s like some of like the strongest people
That’s like either being accused or know someone that’s accused or in that society or know somebody’s in that society brotherhood so that’s the thing that’s more weird about it it’s like you all are coming together and saying yeah let’s do something bad and cause chaos basically you said like
The brotherhood’s coming together for bad the first thing i thought about was the brotherhood of evil from dc comics i’m glad you had a an actual concrete or more serious example because this is even before that when we started shooting anybody else’s in there anybody else of note in that particular
Organization uh let’s find out yes that’s fine you say and they okay yeah i never heard his own relationship so all right so i have a list of members they’re actually a pretty old organization uh john kerry too you said john kerry yeah i’m trying to see if there’s any other
Names they winning each other in the same organization it’s a lot like a lot of a lot of politicians i mean that’s not a surprise they’re they’re law students and well lisa doesn’t surprise me is it all men yeah versus yeah yeah it’s a fraternity bro well he’s a brotherhood he didn’t
