About the divine nine quote unquote so it’s not just her sorority sisters of alpha kappa alpha sorority incorporated there are that are embracing her as their own but the entire divine nine the national panhellenic council is a collaborative umbrella organization composed of historically african american greek letter fraternities and sororities
The nphc as it’s known organizations are sometimes referred to as the divine nine so if you were confused and you were hearing people say the divine nine and you were wondering well what’s that it is the same thing as the panhellenic association and it’s basically made up of the nine different
African-american greek fraternities and sororities so just to give you a little bit of history the mphc was founded at howard university my alma mater in 1930 to support college students who were searching for a voice community and shared identity as they pursued their education this organization played a vital role in uniting
Black collegiates as they fought for equal rights and fair treatment under the law things that we’re still fighting for today and today the nphc continues to bring young men and women together as they honor the history traditions and values of their greek organizations they are made up of alpha kappa alpha sorority
