A second covid19 outbreak at the same fraternity colorado state university just one of the many schools trying to control the coronavirus on campus but like many other colleges the big issues continue to be outbreaks at fraternities and sororities denver 7’s ivan rodriguez joins us live at csu ivan the entire kappa sigma fraternity
Is again under lockdown jessica behind me you can see kappa sigma again all 20 of them inside of their completely quarantined school officials tell me that they quickly responded to make sure that their second outbreak was addressed for some csu students the news of a second covit 19 outbreak
At the kappa sigma fraternity came as a surprise maybe they’re partying maybe they’re not following the rules or just not caring about their health school officials say after multiple rounds of testing out of the 20 people who live in the building 12 are positive for coven 19.
Another five are thought to be positive since they’re showing symptoms but have tested negative so far when we knocked on the fraternity’s door nobody answered it’s probably stuff that the the university doesn’t really have control over it’s just you know stupid young kid stuff ben idler says he sees people on campus
Following mask and social distancing guidelines still the worry is what happens off campus will have an effect i think about it i think that on campus stuff is being controlled well enough that maybe if it does happen it’s a pretty small risk but people are staying far apart people are
In their math so i think that in the long run what happens off campus is probably a bigger deal than what’s happening on here the 14-day quarantine begins for everyone inside of this fraternity starting today csu says that they also contact trace anyone who may have come in close contact with them
And possibly also got that virus they’ve been notified and also quarantined live in fort collins ivan rodriguez denver seven ivan thank you
