Things to do nine way it feels good to be Greek and change lives man it feels good to uplift to give back and speak back Dallas and Pearls is where it’s at come on yeah VMP everybody say Indiana I know that you’ve been singing a lot of these videos circulating on you
Social media denouncing organizations people denouncing their membership oh yeah what do they think about that girl what are they announcing Delta yeah some some of them were denouncing Delta I’ve seen other organizations also being denounced um I’ve even seen I found a couple um collectively you know gave their experience and
Um at the end they denounced their membership together yeah I get that part that they’re but what exactly are they denouncing like what is it to denounce when it comes to Delta Sigma Theta so yeah I got plenty of thoughts on this because um you know I’ve seen a few videos a lot
Of the girls are like you you know thing and basically to me they were worshiping Delta 7 Beta And so I’m like what wasn’t down to Sigma Theta are you are you worshiping the letters like are you worshiping you know what are you worshiping because it’s a it’s a
Non-profit organization like we are here to help the community like what exactly is so bad that God will make you demand or where you did you have the wrong frame of mind right and I know I mean obviously from you know I experience with our sorority our sorority is founded on Christian principle
Absolutely and we know as Christians that you do not put anything before God right right you don’t idolize and you don’t put anything before God so yeah the bigger question is okay what’s what’s going on with you and your experience to get to a point where you
Felt that the need to denounce you know your affiliation as a member of an organization that at some point you thought was great for you um an enhancement for you at the very least um so it does make me wonder like okay what really happened because I’ve I’ve
Watched a few videos and not just videos of those who deny Delta by other organizations as well and um there is um a repetition in terms terms of like um them feeling like they’re idolizing the sorority or the fraternity because I I saw a couple videos of um of men
Denouncing their affiliation with a fraternity um and they’re they’re alluding to the fact that they’ve been idolizing it and I’m thinking like I know from my experience I’ve never been pressured or put in a position to idolize right anything no that’s a personal decision and a personal choice and when you are
Still consumed in anything in anything or anybody or anybody right right right that’s a possibility of happening you put all these things before God and you people idolize the world absolutely right yeah you’re gonna denounce the world people analyze their children people idolize their children people idolize
Other people that have made history that have made impact in the community so I think honestly when you’re talking about denouncing an organization and you’re publicizing it right for what based on your personal experience you got to be very careful because it’s it’s almost like you’re putting the responsibility
On the organization or the organizations in this the organization did that and you’re not taking responsibility as the individual or saying how you allowed yourself to over consumed by your own idle thoughts right right right you were doing way too much I mean honestly we break it down
For breaking down what does Sigma Theta and all these other black Greek organizations are we are helping our community we’re empowering you know each other we’re trying to build wealth we’re trying to help the youth I I get to find something in that that says I should pull away from it
Um unless I’m not concentrating on what those founding principles are I must be outside of that right you have to be right and um I will say that when you get down to our organizations have like rituals and things of that nature that are sacred to right the foundation of it
Um but honestly that that really comes with any type of organization that has structure yeah exactly right and it’s all within content and if things are taken out of content you’re gonna take the message and you’re going to go and derail from it right and I can’t see for
Any other organization but even in that we reference God yeah I even print that so for people say we’ll say always satanic oh uh-uh I mean not in any way shape or form is it Satan was satanic is for you to put all of that to the side and to
Only be concerned about yourselves and to worship being a Delta I’m a Delta is the best thing in the world period it’s over everything it’s over my children it’s over God it’s over my husband it’s over everything that else that would be important to my life and I’ve put it on
This top shelf and everything else you know and even and then I doubt they even really all that active in the community aspect right because if you weren’t you wouldn’t you wouldn’t feel that you wouldn’t feel that you must be all concerned about partying or you know
You’re or the you know imagery the imagery that you think comes with it right and you put it on a pedestal exactly exactly the actual real work that it was it was set out to to Jew to accomplish I think it’s sad too and I’m seeing actual people are sitting in a
Circle like each one Each one went one by one singing the same thing it made me think when I saw that um that panel discussion of all these former members announcing and made me think about one of my past episodes when we talked about you know reasons why you shouldn’t jump yes a sorority and I’m
Like they nailed it right they nailed it they joined for the wrong reason yeah these some of these people admitted that they were adjoining to become popular and to make friends and while that is something that may come along with the territory that should not be one of your
Reasoning for one to join and when you said that yeah and it makes perfect sense yeah because it puts everything out of order exactly like that’s not what it’s here for let’s get down to the founding principles if you look up at what our Founders why they did this in

Bring up a good point like when you step outside of that then you create the Temptation for other things to form a distraction right right you become not necessarily even idolizing just the organization but you become so consumed in yourself to where you are putting yourself and all these things that you
Are now before God and he will he will check you he will and let me just let me just bring it to Karen a little bit and I hate to say this because this may not be the case for everybody but if you find yourself having to wear red and
White every day or pinky green or blue and white or whatever yes so you have to wear it every single day like I gotta represent every single day what do you representing are you representing us we’re already representing something else you know what I’m saying like that’s when you start getting it all
Screwed up or I got to go to the cookout oh I gotta go you know I have to do all these particular things but the thing is for me that’s when you start going to the whole um idolizing thing when you start getting out of whack with the principles
Of what it is because why do you have to wear red and white every single day like why do you have to have a triple nail you everything if you want to that’s fine but that’s when we start getting into your maybe idolizing love it right so I think
Yeah so I think I think maybe some of those ladies and guys found themselves just in situations where they just everything was about the fraternity everything was about sorority but everything should not we should have balance definitely should be bad yeah Mom can’t be a mom and be so
Concentrated on being a part of the sorority I can’t I can’t cook today I can’t pick up my children today I can’t do all these things yeah absolutely you should denounce denounce it that part if you’re if you’re competing with life because these women had full lives I
Found this one talking about at full lives they were in college and they just wanted to better their Community but at the same time they didn’t lose themselves in these organizations right and so we suggest that you don’t do yeah don’t do that well let us know do I mean have you seen

Certain number of people right but I mean again and I I get what you’re saying so yeah people will know you you know whoever came to support you or you know you went to college with or you know through grad shop or whatever your um the process looked like but if you
Decide to we’re changing topics a little bit but if you decide to leave a church yeah right I don’t I don’t recall anyone going to the front of the church saying all right it’s been nice but I’m gonna go over to the Tabernacle across the street or I’m leaving the church for
Good yeah for whatever reason I’m not that’s not happening not only that but if you own like a platform like a Facebook or something right I’m leaving this church yeah cause you know but you’re right what is because it’s a national organization that you feel the
Need to try to like you know I’m leaving and that’s why because you’re trying to make them look bad but they had nothing to do with you idolizing them exactly if you blame them exactly and I think and I that’s the thing that I think is most
Important is if whatever you choose to do um in terms of denouncing an organization taking a step back whatever that may look like for you that that you have every right to do that you know you need to be in alignment with what you have committed yourself to do or not do
But what I think is important is if you are going to be on a public platform and you know putting this out there at least take some accountability in terms of how you got to this place and not put the onus on the organization it’s the organization has its Mission its goal is
Purpose and if you step outside of that and take it to another level you can’t blame the organization for that as an individual absolutely that’s and same thing with anything else like if you worship your children it’s not there I mean they didn’t they just were
Born you know what I’m saying or a person or a job you know you have to take because when it’s all said and done and if we’re gonna stay in this whole thought of being a Christian when you get before God he’s not going to blame this organization he’s gonna be looking
At you what did you do while you was like why did you put that before me right you know so I would just say everybody you know that is toiling with this whole denouncing I mean maybe you should announce it you found yourself in those predicaments but at the same time you
Know maybe you just you made a wrong call when you joined the first right no I agree I think denouncing is definitely necessary if you’re um priorities are out of order yeah I agree all right tell us what you think how you enjoy this conversation let us know your
