Sort or Greek organization injury so this T talk is basically going to be about live joint aka and how to be a good entrance I’ve been a part of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated since fall 2016 I am the great eight of my line out of 27
I have 27 26 underlying sisters my line is like the biggest line well what’s the biggest line from my chapter the biggest line before that was 18 but then my line came with 27 and let me remind you it was like over 150 girls at my rush so I
Am beyond thankful for being one of the 27 ladies that got chose to be a part of this a luxury is this amazing the best sorority in the world especially a NPHC one black sorority come on who wouldn’t want to be an alpha woman I’ll wait okay
Everybody wants to be an alpha woman okay let me um you see you see what I’m talking about let me turn my phone off okay so like I was saying being a part of this elections organization is amazing why was Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated my one and only choice I
Didn’t want to be a part of any other sorority at all no offense to the other ones it just didn’t fit me reason why I wanted to be a part of this sorority is because when I first transferred to my school that I graduated from just seeing
The presence of Alpha Kappa Alpha women on my campus was amazing like I love how they carried themselves I love how they like really really really stood behind academic excellence they were so involved on campus they were out in the community hey I want to be a part of that organization
And then I start doing my research and it just can’t be more and more I’m too fun this is this is the organization for me like I don’t want to be a part of any other ones and honestly the other charities that were on my campus at the
Time when I transferred in they didn’t stand out to me so they were I’d even look that way I was always an interest of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority once as soon as I transferred there so it was where my heart was at I love their values what
They stand behind um oh sorry my head is it you just got my hair done but everything that I value as a woman Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated values that safe so we had the same values and that was the main reason why I wanted to
Be a part of such and their luxurious organization and I am so thankful that I was given the chance then I was selected to be a part of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated okay so that’s why I wanted to be a part of this sorority
And I am so glad that I’m now able to give you guys advice on why know why you want to join us already don’t do it just because you want to look a little campus you want to stroll you want to be known as oh that’s an aka or that’s a Delta or
Zeta or SG Road no don’t do it for those reasons because if you think you’re gonna gain more friendships be more known on campus I’m sorry bust your bubble but if you were not already known baby you’re not gonna be more known sorry bus bus it so don’t do it for the
Cloud because he’s not gonna be in your favor okay and and the next one is how to be a good interest this just goes out for whatever sorority you’re trying to join this is not just for not trying to join I forgot but this is for this is advice for any
Type of sorority you’re trying to join so rule number one no to stand out from your other competitors cuz that’s what they are competitors everybody’s not going to be chosen so you want to have a presence on your campus and what I mean by a presence on your campus is be
Actively involved in your campus that’s the best way to get your name out there in a positive light they’re going to typically choose someone who is actively on campus at hold leadership positions instead of somebody that is a no-name you don’t want to be a lone Emer because
Your chances of getting selected are slim to none except if you’re a legacy which aka as long as you meet the minimum requirements and your legacy most likely you ready be selected but that’s besides the point so the actively on campus be known in a good way number two make sure you have
Community service hours like you need community service hours and don’t just do it just because you want to join the organization do it because you want to bear your community once you become a part of the organization that doesn’t stop your community service always continues so
You got to keep putting in the work so number three is exceed the GPA requirements the grade average exceed it okay you need a 2.0 or two point five two point seven GPA as the minimum you always want to be above like I said academic excellence is one of the
Requirements of joining a sorority and you just all want submit them you don’t want to just meet and minimum you want to be above because you’re gonna select someone who has a better grade point average then someone who doesn’t why would you choose someone who has a 2.5 and somebody that has a
3.2 most likely they’re gonna be able to stay active on campus by keeping their grades up with you if you don’t have that GPA if you have the minimum they’re gonna be risking it like sis make sure your GPA is good okay academic excellence up right here number four
Have a good relationship with at least one person on the previous line and what I mean by a good relationship I don’t mean you have to kiss their ass no I mean actually have a genuine relationship everybody knows that sucking up does not always equal you’re
Gonna get it know when you write when they see that you want to have a genuine relationship with them then it’s more real and they will go to bat for you when it comes to this selection process the voting they give the reasons why they think you should be a part of this
Sorority like you’ll have someone in your corner so definitely have a good relationship with someone on the previous line the next number five attend all events that they have if you can’t attend all of the events is ten majority of event events because they keep a sign-in sheet but I know that
When my my sisters were picking my neat um our Neos they kept a sign-in sheet and they just kept seeing like names and stuff like if you can tell all the events your name is gonna pop up they’re gonna remember your face they’re going to remember how you carry yourself
So attend all events because it plays a part in into your so it being selected and lastly but not least the most important one if you don’t take anything else take this last advice and I’m gonna give you keep your outer appearance a one always look your best never have a bad
Day in public slash on campus that matters the most how you carry yourself matters so much when trying to be selected to be a part of an organization no one wants to select someone who looks bad or looks rough all the time what I mean keeping your outer
Appearance appearance up I don’t mean you have to have a beat face every time but I like wearing makeup right now I don’t have any on but I always wore makeup on campus because I just like makeup but if you’re not into makeup you know just keep your hair to make sure
You have a nice outfit like always be presentable because you don’t know if you’re going to run into one of the members on campus and if they see you like here look I’m busty and crusty thank God mm-hmm look how she looking she can’t be a part of our organization
We do not need that type of energy so look the part especially if you’re trying to be a KA trying to be an AKM you have to look the part just the part you have to be the part okay so my face this or that I’m using is it making me
Shiny but outer appearance is the key okay so I just dropped some knowledge for you guys with whatever organization you’re trying to join these are good six tips that go across the board so it’s not just particularly for a courageous in general and if you guys have any
