Colorway of the shoe is inspired by michael jordan’s fraternity omega sci-fi and while omega sci-fi’s colors aren’t exactly this it’s royal purple and old gold this in comparison is much more faded and has much more vintage aesthetic to it so omega scifi was founded back in november of 1911 and
It’s the very first african-american fraternity founded at a historically black college howard university and something i found interesting after going through some research about this shoe i watched a review by fellow youtuber sneaker fetish and he brought up something that was very very interesting so according to nike’s
Official marketing they make it seem like michael jordan was a member of omega scifi during his days at the university of north carolina however the truth of the matter is mj didn’t actually become a full member of omega sci-fi until 1987 and by that time he was already well into his nba career
With the chicago bulls and from what i was able to find mj became a member of the omicron alpha chapter of omega scientifi in wilmington north carolina so this is just one of those interesting tidbits that either nike intentionally got wrong or they just didn’t do their proper research when they’re coming up
With the marketing behind the shoe anyways diving straight into the details so this is your classic air jordan one high silhouette as we take a look at the toe box the base layer here is constructed out of a very tumbled universally gold colored leather as with
All your other air jordan ones we have this perforated finish on the toe box and surrounding the outer edge of the toe we have more of a smooth leather which is then what they call a light bordeaux color but in my opinion in real life this is much more of a pale violet
Sort of tone this same leather covers the eyelets of the shoe as well and then underneath this on the mid panel we have a very soft white colored leather stitched on top of this we have your nike swoosh which again is done in this light bordeaux colored leather and then
The side wings of the shoe this again is done in that universally gold colored leather the boss on the lateral side only we have the air jordan wings logo surrounding the ankle call area at the top this again is done in that light board dough colored leather and then
Surrounding the bottom of the heel we have more of that universally gold colored leather for the laces so these come with three different pairs of laces the standard default lace is a flat style lace done in this light bordeaux finish but they also give you a secondary pair of white
Laces and a third pair in university gold personal preference i think i like the look of the bordeaux colored laces the best but all three options are pretty decent underneath this we have your traditional white colored nylon tongue and at the very top we have this nylon tag done in
A combination of gold and bordeaux the inner color of the shoe unlike your traditional liner which normally has more of a smooth feel to it this in contrast sort of has more of that towel-like fuzzy feel moving on to the insoles so these come with your standard foam line insole it’s
Done in this gold colored finish on top and we have nike air branding stamped on the heel in bordeaux so the upper of the shoe sits atop the solid rubber cups which is done in this white color and in case within the midsole but not visible to the eye there
Is nike air sole technology for cushioning and then turning the shoe over to the bottom here we have your classic jordan one outsole this is done in this gold colored finish we have the circular pivot point on the forefoot along with the nike logo right in the middle
So that breaks down the look and the construction of these brotherhood jordan ones and for those wondering about sizing to make these feel like any of your other air jordan ones so i’d stick with your normal air jordan one size which for most people out there should
Be true to size if your feet though are really really wide this area right here might cause some discomfort but i feel like for the majority of the people out there if you stick true to size you’ll be fine moving on to the comfort this will feel like any of your other air
Jordan ones it’s going to feel very stable very low to the ground there’s not too much from a softness and stepping comfort perspective but for just an everyday shoe that you wear casually and walk around in they’re going to feel perfectly fine last but not least in terms of the overall
Quality and the craftsmanship so first off the material quality i thought it was slightly above average as far as air jordan ones go i’ve definitely seen pairs that have better quality materials but on the other hand i’ve seen pairs that definitely have worse quality materials as well so the gold leather
Has a very nice tumbled feel to it and this feels pretty solid to the touch in contrast this light bordeaux colored leather it feels much more smooth and also feels soft but at the same time it feels a little bit thin as well and last but not least this white leather panel i
Thought it was pretty decent quality too and from an overall craftsmanship and build standpoint i thought my pair was perfectly done i really had no complaints no issues at all with my pair So with all that out of the way now let’s toss these on feet and i’ll show you guys how these look It’s fitting that these drop during black history month but like other people have echoed it’s kind of a surprise that jordan brand didn’t push this as the official black history month shoe regardless though it definitely taught myself a lot of things even though it wasn’t officially branded as a
Black history month sneaker and history and cultural relevance aside i think the colorway is also fire as well it’s obviously not going to be the easiest shoe to pull off and it is a very unique color combination to me it kind of reminds me of like a muted or
