Bring out the worst and the most ignorant underbelly of society and i just didn’t have time but i figured being a member of alpha phi alpha fraternity incorporated myself also being someone who has strutted wigs makeup high heels dresses and has played with gender and bent gender norms that i would have
Something of value to add to this conversation y’all want to talk about it here you go So y’all i was had to pick a friend up from the airport today and i was scrolling through facebook as i was waiting on them at their terminal and the picture came up again and i read a lot of comments and i said you know what q
You can’t let this opportunity pass you by without offering something to this conversation um everybody knows i appear in drag as my [ __ ] dyneeva character uh everybody knows if you don’t know i’m a member of alpha phi alpha fraternity incorporated and you know what i feel a certain kind
Of way about all of this so for me i want to start out by saying everything for me is about intention right what was this young man’s intention when he set out to do this and took this picture i can assure you when he joined the organization he didn’t look
Like that i can assure you when he went to initiation in the organization he didn’t look like that and i can assure you when he walked the campus amongst the other brothers i’m more than positive i don’t even know these damn people that he didn’t strut his ass
Up and through the college campus in them high heels with their sash on because the other brothers of the chapter i’m pretty sure were not having it that being said anytime you join a job whether it’s starbucks whether it’s macy’s whether it’s pepsi cola or any type of organization
Even your church there is a uniform and sir you are not dressed in the appropriate uniform for your job today therefore we gonna send you home we’re gonna go ahead and send you on home now listen i am all for people expressing themselves the way they see fit i am all for us
Turning gender constructs and gender norms on their head in forcing america and society to re-evaluate some of these antiquated uh uh institutions and infrastructures and constructs i am all for it but i’m also about order and decency and understanding that there is a time
And a place when you sign up to be a member of an organization i’ll tell you even about me in the entertainment business they have several clauses in ways in which you are expected to act when you are on the job all right and when you are on
This job sir you are expected to wear and conduct yourself in a certain manner it just is what it is this is not the place for you to make statements this is not the place for you to push your own agendas that have not been sanctioned by the
Organization and this is coming from a hill wearing wig wearing makeup toning gay boy when you signed up to be in these people’s stuff you signed up for what it was good bad and indifferent you can’t get in these people’s stuff because see in short you bamboozled these people because
If if you knew that’s what all you had going on and that was not in line with the organization you came in and presented one way and tricked these people to get in and then now you’re saying look at this big reveal that’s not right and it sucks
Because in a perfect world y’all in a perfect world gender constructs wouldn’t exist people would be able to do any and everything they want and everything would be just so utopian and we would all get along and be flower children and drink orange soda and eat uh jolly rancher candies
While watching the sunset why unicorns fly on top of our head and baboons deliver bubble gum drops like in a perfect world but the world that we live in is so imperfect and the reality of the situation is everybody can’t have everything all the time sir um in this instance

Going to be this is how it’s supposed to be and if you can’t abide by this which are all things you knew before you signed up by the way that this is not the place for you and i don’t consider it discrimination and i know a lot of y’all might have
Thought oh because i was gay i’m going and and trust me i am the hugest gay activist i am the hugest advocate of gay men being able to do whatever it is they see fit and exist in every space and i do believe that this young man has the right to exist
In the space of alpha phi alpha fraternity incorporated just as i do but there is a certain level of respectability politics that goes along with it and some people you know they they took their face up when it comes to respectability politics but it’s what makes our world go around y’all
You can’t show up everywhere doing any and everything you want that’s just not the way the world works it’s not how it works um you know the thing that saddens me the most about this is that being a uh proud gay member of the organization there are so many other routes
That this young man could have gone to to assert that i am gay and i am proud and i deserve to be here just as anybody else i’m quick to let a [ __ ] know i’m gay i am an alpha and i am probably a more trip contributing positively contributing member of society than
Anybody within the organization that would have a problem with me being gay with my platform the things i talk about the people i’ve reached and the accomplishments that i’ve accomplished i’m pretty sure my right my resume is up there with some of the top brothers in the organization and that’s what you
Have to do young man you have to be undeniable all right that that’s the alpha thing to do be undeniable because when it comes to me in this media space a [ __ ] can’t deny me all you can say is i’m gay okay i’m gay but i’m doing better than you and your
Son and your granddaddy and your three generation’s legacy and what that’s how you have to conduct yourself you know what i’m saying your resume your works in the community the things you do your reputation has to be so ironclad that all they can say is you gay and quiet as it’s kept that’s
Not even an insult if it’s the damn truth but this heels and this this this thing you know i think it’s it’s rough because i think you make it harder for the other uh lgbtq members of divine nine organizations you make it harder and here’s why they already don’t want
Us there you know so let’s let’s just have real conversation they already don’t want us there and i know some people are gonna be offended by what i’m about to say but i’m gonna say it anyway black straight men are some of the most ignorant [ __ ] when it comes to issues
Of gender and and sexuality they see things one way it challenges their manhood and so on and so forth i have done countless videos about the fact that i tend to shy away from large droves of straight black men because they’re not safe spaces for gay boys bart the barber
Shop is not a safe space for a black gay boy big conventions of straight heterosexual men and all of their masculinity some healthy and toxic others toxic it’s not a safe space for black gay men so when i enter spaces that are predominantly heterosexually black i mean um heterosexual and black and male
There is a certain anxiety that i have walking into that space but there’s also a certain mental preparedness i have to do to be in this space and there’s a certain way i have to carry myself in this space in order to remain emotionally sound and
You kind of put us all at jeopardy with this because of their lack of understanding because of their reluctance to understand because they already don’t want us here in this space because they already think it’s the invasion of the sissies they think all these things you’ve now created a situation where
You know certain brothers that it may be known that they are gay or not now the the the big gay fear is no no no we can’t put brother jones over there because you know we don’t want people to think this assistant event oh no no no we can’t we not taking no
Recommendation letters from brother jones because because all he trying to do is bring all his kind in i mean y’all when it comes to the level of ignorant [ __ ] that i have heard within the confines of fraternity it’s baffling but then there’s still those of us who
Find a way to navigate it and gain some respect and be represented and be proud and then you do things like this and you help dismantle all of it um it’s weird you know a lot of y’all have asked me before in the past about my experience with fraternity
So on and so forth and i’ve shied away from speaking about it on this platform simply because funky dyneeva’s platform is incongruent with alpha phi alpha fraternity incorporated and there is at nowhere where the two cross there’s nowhere where the two intersect they both exist independent of one another and both are
Well oiled machines independent of one another therefore i’ve never had any real reason on this platform to discuss that simply because there’s a certain protocol a certain standard that i chose to sign up and be a part of y’all got to stop walking up in these people’s stuff
And trying to turn it upside down on its head all right this is these people stuff it’s not yours this is these people stuff and when you come up in these people’s stuff and you pay your money and you sign up and you initiate it in these people’s stuff you are agreeing
To be in these people’s stuff the way they’ve outlined for you to be in and not what you want to do and not because you have some random epiphany one night that you wanted to explore every facet of your being because i’m here to tell y’all and this young man that

Impactful way that you could have shown that you were gay and proud and a member of the organization than to start a media storm because my next question to you is uh where do you go from here i can already tell you you graduate um any graduate chapter you
Go to they’re going to have a problem especially if it’s a lot of old school members in the organization you’re not going to be welcome with open arms and that’s sad and it’s unfortunate but you kind of brought it on yourself people are going to be uh
Leery of you and while i know that we all have a purpose on this earth to be uh uh captains of change and to usher in new ways of thinking you’ve also got to be calculated and you’ve got to be strategic and simply put you got to [ __ ] people
Slow make love to me you can’t just jam it all in and that’s exactly what you did you ramped that thing in and now people and show oh [ __ ] no baby you got to lick it flip it rub it down you got to put on a little bit of luther
