Everyone else I mean like this is amazing tears s but I’m loving it so far it’s been amazing well you can always come back right that’s what homecoming is all about so so tell us you’re a journalism news and information major what um what is what are your career
Goals what do you want to do after the spring of 20124 right so I am studying currently broadcast journalism um and my career goals are definitely to continue that uh continue broadcast journalism when I graduate um I want to work at a station wherever that may be I’m not
Sure yet but I do want to continue my studies and continue going yeah there was a little feedback there I think they I think we’ve figured that out now so hope hopefully we can keep talking well it’s a beautiful day here it’s sunny it’s perfect it’s an autumn day in

All the things all the opportunities you’ve had um Beyond like it I didn’t expect this uh coming here into Ohio University I’m originally from Cleveland Ohio and so um I didn’t expect to find a journalism school that I fell in love with um the journalism here has been
Amazing I mean like I’ve been offered so many opportunities I’ve had the um pleasure to go to multiple places and visit and the funding here the alumni that return I mean like it’s just amazing you have so much support journalism student wise just for any student coming to AA University I mean
There’s so many alumni that still support donate fund W public media is like my second family like it’s amazing um and I’ve just had so many amazing experiences here and I’m forever grateful for that and that’s probably why so many people have showed back and come back here yeah oh absolutely and
And not only you know you’re a member of the wub public media family but also the Ohio University family and you you talked about what alumni do particularly you have uh been paired with a couple of mentors um alumni mentors who worked at wub as as when they were students at
Ohio University and one of them is Alisa Henry talk to us a little bit about that that mentoring relationship yeah so Alisa Henry um she is with ABC6 and it’s been Fox 28 as well and she’s also the uh host uh co-host of cash explosion uh awesome lot Ohio lottery show if you’re

Um lessons that I take into every day take consideration so it’s been amazing like having her as a mentor I also have another Mentor so it’s like just so many people they’ve graduated from Ohio University and it it’s amazing like to be paired up with them and have the

Heartwarming and so exciting well you can truly um you know feel that this is such a special moment for Bobcats heading back to Athens reliving the memories that are here for them and hopefully making some new ones what what memories are you making today what experiences have you had so far well I

Young dancers in the Arts and performance of Irish Dance they have dancers from a mix of four countries in South Eastern Ohio as well as Ohio University students alumni and professors classes are available for beginners starting at age three through adults with their highest level dancers creating dramatic choreography for

Global gymnastics offers recreational gymnastics classes from ages 18 months to 12 years old you can find us at 106 East State Street they are so cute little [Applause] [Applause] gymnasts [Applause] up next we have The Laurels of Athens The Laurels of Athens is skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility we offer inpatient Short State skilled nursing and therapy we are proud that we are able to provide all private rooms with own bathroom with shower in each room The Laurels also provides Outpatient
Physical occupational and speech therapies The Laurels of Athens and staff is happy to be a u supporter [Applause] and then we have the academic achievement center located in Ain library is the center for academic assistance at Ohio University they offer a variety of free resources for all students such as peer tutoring supplemental instruction academic coaching writing tutoring the first generation Student Success program and
Much much more they would like to be represented in the parade to spread awareness about their Center and to reach more students on campus I spent many hours at aen library very thankful for the academic achievement Center a big thank you to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office for joining us
