This is probably the most important one I’ve seen a lot of uh women do videos like this but I never seen a dude do it you know and I want to offer you know advice for fraternities and sororities you know I have ly sisters too um so I
Know all around how everything works so yeah let’s get into It so this video is going to be pretty cut and dry I got my phone right here I’m going just be reading off bullet points that I thought of about how to prepare for an interest meeting slash Rush whatever you want to call it uh the most
Important part of the process if we being honest because it can make or break you so let’s get into it I’m try not to edit too much um I really just want y’all to know that this is as genuine as possible I’m really trying to
Help y’all become a part of you know the organization of your choice all right so the first tip I have on this list is be on time okay dudes if the if the interest meeting start at 7:14 you need to be there at 7 o’cl or before then uh ladies if the interest
Meeting start at 7:13 you need to be there at like 6:30 or earlier um yeah very very important cuz you know when you’re on time you could kind of be there okay like H who there what they got going on and like also they might talk to you you know
They might start having a conversation with you and that might put you in front of people you know like you might get noticed more um you know when I was going to the interest meeting I came a little early day was like all right I WR
With that like and I’m like you know what I’m saying so be on time don’t be like super super like I know some people be coming like what it depend on it depend on the organization and it depend on the chapter okay let me see because
You know I ain’t gonna name drop or nothing but if you got a huge chapter that you know is gonna have a huge line it’s gonna be like sometime a thousand dudes a thousand girls there so um yeah you might need to be a couple hours
Early I ain’t going to lie to even get a spot cuz sometime they they sell out man but long story short be on time that’s extremely important all right second and I know this sounds super cliche but do your research make sure you have information about the organization and
Make sure you have information about the chapter itself that’s very very important I would say the chapter like having information about the chapter sets you apart from a lot of people because a lot of people just like okay I’mma just research the organization and that’s it you know what I’m saying but
If you have information about the chapter and you implement that like in a question that you ask then that will really set you apart and that leads me to my next point ask at least one good question like a lot of people think this is frowned upon like I don’t know if I
Should ask the question what they look at me funny no like we’re genuinely trying to get to know y’all because you know y’all are interested in our organization so it’s like okay why should we let them in like who are they you know what type of questions do they
Ask are they genuinely interested in this opportunity so like ask a good question you know like at the end of an interview where you know the company is like do you have any questions for us ask a question like if you don’t they going to think you’re not interested all
Right the next point is follow the dang dress code BR like if they put and typically it’s going to be on the flyer if they put business professional come in business professional okay like ladies black no colors black all right black suit men black suit like you can
Maybe get away with gray but like no flashy colors don’t try to over just make sure you look sharp all right like you know ladies if you got a lace front you know get your get your wig done up right you know man you got a you got wav
Get your haircut if you don’t still get you a little shape up you know you got a beard get your beard lined up like make sure you just come looking right and and ready to present yourself cuz I done heard some horror stories of people being turned around because they didn’t
Follow the dress code so like if y’all think they playing about this they’re not bro I promise you they’re not we will turn you around like that’s just yeah like cuz I mean you already shown us you can’t follow directions that’s not a good look I also say while you’re
In the interest meeting don’t be on your phone I know this kind of goes without saying but like don’t be on your phone like you know some people maybe it don’t go without saying like why can’t I be on my phone don’t that’s rude and it shows
That you’re not interested even if you are it’s like oh I’m going just be on my phone like don’t be over there on Tik Tok while they trying to explain from you like very important information because the next step is going to be for you to apply and get an interview this
Kind of goes back to one of my previous points don’t be too flashy like don’t do too much don’t wear the sorority or fraternity colors um I know I probably shouldn’t have to say that but I do um please do not wear the colors like like
I said earlier black subtle you want to be very relaxed look good but don’t do too much all right the next one is get your resume up to date and know what you putting on there because what you put on your resume is nine times out of 10
You’re going to get asked about something on there and you don’t want to be looking stupid if you in an interview like oh so tell me about this point or what point like it’s on your resume bro like you know what I’m saying like make sure you know what’s on there okay but
Definitely have your resume up to date and you know have everything that can showcase what you can do for the chapter and for the organization itself all right the next point is bring some people would say a laptop but I I wouldn’t say bring a laptop I would say
Bring a portfolio looks like this this is the one I use it’s a little old it got grease spots on it wait hey man like it was from a long time ago all right so you know you can print out your head shot your official transcript and your
Resume and just have everything like combined in this little portfolio um some people say don’t do that I’ll would say do it this what I did um I just feel like it shows that you ready and you professional you’re not doing too much you you could bring like um some paper
In here to like write notes you know um like I said that’s what I would do you don’t have to do it all right the last one I got is get your official transcript and professional head shot ahead of time because I’m telling you you’ll need it for the next step you see
What I’m saying so like in order for you to apply or what have you like you’re going to need need your official transcript not unofficial official transcript and a professional headshot sometimes you need other stuff U for us you definitely did but yeah you’re going to need more stuff but those like make
