Hi good afternoon welcome back to the Peru sisters podcast show and today we are covering updates and new information in the Idaho 4 case and uh today there actually is going to be a hearing in the courtroom and Iām just going to pull up this um paperwork that was filed from it
And G is going to give us a little rundown of exactly whatās going on in the court today yeah heās um so whatās happening today is that um Brian through his attorneys has motioned to dismiss the indictment for a number of reasons and I think heās listed thereās a
Memorandum thatās supposed to accompany that thereās 24 reasons that theyāre asking for this to be dismissed and itās been set into two separate hearings that are occurring today was one was at 9:30 this morning um we donāt have an update on that yet Iāve been looking and um
Nothingās popped up yet so that thatās done and that was a CL closed hearing the second hearing is going to be at 1:30 today and thatās to a motion to dismiss the indictment on grounds of error in the grand jury instructions so um and that is open to the
Public however I donāt think itās going to be broadcast but weāre weāre hopefully going to come back and update you on all of that so yeah hopefully weāre going to have some live updates for you because we should still be on the show we have a
Lot to talk about out and um so hopefully we can give you a live update at 1 and Iām just going to bring this up really actually at 1:30 1:30 yeah thatās I just read that um itās set for 1:30 open to the public yeah itās too bad we canāt have
Cameras present but I know hopefully weāll get some quick information and updates on that once it uh right once they get out of there um so we have a list weāve pulled up here that weāre basing our show on today and these are basically reoccurring questions and comments that
Are coming up um as I made this Idaho for True Crime um playlist so itās either we want to go over these things because these are the things that are on peopleās minds and um I think weāll just dive right into it which is one thing
That has been probably one of the number one things that keeps mentioning is people want to talk about possibly the knife sheath being planted and I mean we can kind of tie this in with number three which is BK Being Framed but letās just take it individually one at a time
Can you tell me Gia what are your um what are your thoughts I one of the things I noticed with the sheath was that when one of the first arriving officers was on the scene he made a statement that said he saw the knife sheath when he entered the room
Subse quently it was stated that the knife sheath was found underneath the victims so if thatās the case he wouldnāt have seen it upon entering so I donāt know if he was think thinking he did in hindsight when he gave that statement but it would have been
Impossible for him to have seen it upon entering the room because it was found underneath one of the um one of the girls on the third floor so I I found that interesting so when did the sheath get there if they didnāt see it initially and then they did see it later
That allows thereās time that it could have been planted right or it could have been planted before I I really donāt know but thereās thereās so much time that went by Between the time of the murders occurring or the and the crime scene at the crime scene and by the time the 911
Was called there were lot of people in the house before the police arrived on the scene so there is room for consideration that it was planted thatās my thought well I think the the contradiction that you just bring up I didnāt really think about that because I I think itās heās his
Title is the chief um the guy who had the beard that the lead uh policemen in this case I remember him saying the same thing I saw the knife sheath and then they came back and recollected it for evidence the second time but you bring
Up a good point how could he have seen the knife sheath by allegedly where it was located right didnāt think of that at all and thatās really insightful the question I would have and I donāt know the answers to these but when I think about the knife sheet what bothers me
About thinking that the knife sheet is the planted evidence is well like if you were going to frame somebody like couldnāt you wouldnāt you want to do it with a larger piece of framing material like a hair or or the knife or the knife
But the other thing is is I guess in my limited knowledge of how DNA transfer Works how do you even get just one personās transfer DNA on one tiny spot and if you were going to frame someone why would you put the transfer DNA all over the knife sheet why would you just
Unbuckle it put it on the little snap um so I thatās my only thought on the and I again know nothing about how transfer DNA works um but yeah that was my my first thought on that do you have anything else you want to add on the specific knife sheet and not just
Framing but on the knife sheet itself sheath itself um no I just think we were talking about how if it was bek that did this how easy that could have happened like if he removed the knife from the sheath didnāt realize he dropped it went
On about his crime right and left and I think we sort of speculated one of the reasons he if he did allegedly return to the scene of the crime may have been that he realized obviously he didnāt have the sheath did he then think he dropped it getting out of the car or
Getting back into the car and he was going back to the area to look to see if he may have dropped it outside of the house sorry tofe um Iām sorry you know you almost took the words right out of my mouth because as you were saying that
That was coming to me that weāve discussed before he couldnāt maybe he wasnāt trying to return to the scene to watch it unfold maybe he was returning to because he realized he left the knife sheath yeah so good was him he was so meticulous about everything else right I
Even when they talk about like did he of a Dickyās jumpsuit Iāve seen those theyāre not like a hazmat suit so I in the amount of blood that has been spoken about on the scene thereās so much he thereās no way I mean something you you would have you would
Think you would find more evidence somewhere else in the house and maybe they did and we just donāt know because of the gag order I just thereās going to be a lot more thatās uncovered as evidence gets um in the trial as itās presented at
Trial yeah I mean I think we havenāt had necessarily a confirmation of whether there was DNA in between the rooms um when I was watching one of the um True Crime channels you suggested to me he was talking about he saw some of the investigators taking pictures under the
Good vibe sign in outside the room so possibly that could have been collecting evidence there but I think itās been confirmed there was no DNA found outside the house and that just seems like I guess thatās where the hmat suit comes in but Iāve heard other people in the comments
Saying too really how is a Dicky suit gonna help you contain DNA essentially um so it wouldnāt I donāt think it would yeah um I actually for the for our next for our next point that weāre going to be talking about which is where the Frat involved I have a really insightful clip
I want to play for you and again this is from somebody that Gia has suggested to me um a convictās thoughts and heās gonna talk uh former convi former former convict excuse him well yeah UMC yeah heās gonna talk about the frats involvement and
I before we put him on I do want to say his perspective is refreshingly unique like thereās something about his experience that he is looking at this case in a different way and watching his videos does open your eyes quite a bit so um so we just
Want to promote him a little bit let me just get yes I I love I think heās a critical thinker I think I love the way he thinks and heās very direct and straightforward and heās easy to listen to heās on point he stays on point and
He just heās got a really good flow so his videos are worth the watch he gets the me potatoes quote unquote really quickly all right can you see that on your screen Gia yes okay let hit play I believe that Loach and the other David David B and
David L are two little cronies one of them being roid raged who had a dispute not only on the night of the actual said crime at the fraternity house with Ethan and Zanna but even prior to that the was issues due to the lll loss of life where
Ethan Maddie Bethany and Zanna were all at the fraternity house when that young man was hazed and later deemed to have fallen into one foot worth of water in a creek out back of the the uh the actual fraternity house and deemed to have committed suicide accidental
Death ladies and gentlemen if you feel thatās the truth you go ahead and go with that I see much deeper than that that young man was hazed he was most likely beaten and he lost his life in a cruel Manner and no investigation ever took to
Tuition I think that comes back to David L and David B do we have the beginning of people who were interested in the loss of life it was deemed that they were interested and had spoken upon it to many others yet all of a sudden when
He came to Le and the investigation of this crime of the Idaho 4 they nullified everybody immediately and Iāve never seen that happen in any crime of this magnitude or even lesser to where La enforcement can come out days weāre not talking about months or years after the fact they came out days
After the fact and stated they had cleared a laundry list of people okay MH and um itās hard for you know the Frat references are difficult for me for a couple reasons but I am open to hearing more about it now Iāll go into my reasons in a second but Iād really
Like to hear a little reaction from you on what he had to say G um about I I mean I donāt I I donāt have any more reactions than what weāve had in the past I I agree with him on this I agree with him that thatās a suspicious
Death and hazing deaths happen all the time I doubt it was a suicide I mean but frats are kind of like the police they like cod of blue right theyāre theyāre a Brotherhood they theyāre very good at keeping secrets um they have attorneys on retainer these fraternities theyāre probably being told
Not itās interesting we havenāt heard from anyone in the Greek system it and thatās in my opinion thatās because theyāve been instructed by attorneys to do that theyāre not part of the gag order so they could be speaking but I I feel like theyāre theyāre being told to keep it
Under wraps not to say a word um we do know that there were number of fraternity brothers that were at the house prior to the police being there um so you know I donāt know and I and also when he said at the end how itās amazing
How quickly they cleared so many people and just focused in on on Brian how on Earth do you clear that many people in a matter of days I I have no idea itās and we trust our law enforcement that they we trust them we have no other choice so I think
We all just kind of sank our teeths in and stopped looking in certain directions too and started sinking our teeth in other directions um and youāve said that before you felt like the white Elantra there was an immediate tunnel vision think that uh one other or two other points
That I feel are really relevant to bring up when it comes to fraternities is number one when we think back to Kim we donāt know her last name we donāt know her identity but she was featured on Chronicles of Olivia and her interview with Chronicles Olivia and other um and
Other interviews afterwards have appeared online she talks about her children and their involvement and the phone call the morning of well apparently Steve Gonzalez um did approve of that interview he was the one who wanted Kim to go on and speak with Chronicles Olivia of Olivia and so that kind of
Puts a little bit more um it puts a little bit more trust in what Kim was saying is that Stephen alz who even though they have a suspect and this you know and everything was in motion he still wanted to know more about this aspect of it and I think we all support
Him and we want to help him pursue any angle that he might um that he might seem legitimate so I want to bring that up the other thing I want to bring up is uh Ethanās Ethanās brother from what I understand was there that morning and Ethanās brother also talked to Steve and
For me to feel that there was some sort of Greek involvement like it it bothers me you would also have to them believe that his flesh and blood his twin brother agreed yeah I donāt think was involvement yeah I donāt think there was I donāt think there was fraternal or the
Fraternity involvement in the murders I just think that they know things that theyāre not saying about the murder like other things that may have been going on in the house other things that may be interesting to Le about um the events leading up to the because when
Um the guy AR was saying about you know there there was an altercation at the frat house that night well what was that about and did that have something to do with whoever came back later if it wasnāt BK itās a perfectly legitimate question like itās the first thing somebody would ask you
Know right and it could just be someone you know there are a lot of people at fraternity houses that arenāt members of the fraternity so all the time so it could have been there was some nonf fraternity member that was involved in whatever happened that night that weāre
Not hearing about so you know I just I just think that thereās in involvement from the fraternity that were they may be called as Witnesses at the trial and if thatās the case if thatās the case what I didnāt catch that Gia oh G I think Gia is
Frozen um Iām GNA keep you on you there then they would be on Iām here okay I donāt I I just will be honest tell you Iām Iām offsite and so I have some internet issues maybe so if I freeze thatās why you know what thatās doing my
Best we appre we appreciate that youāre willing to come on live and give your opinion so donāt no worries thatās just um all right so um and Iām sorry Iām not trying to crack jokes when weāre talking such about a heavy subject peeve and Iām not going to do Iām not Iām
Gonna try to um anyway sorry about that so um our next our next question is actually uh is BK Being Framed so weāre on number three here and um see I do have one reaction to this to add to the knife sheath because I feel this is really tied into number one we
Were talking about but before before I get into that any thoughts on the frame that youāve heard or any reactions youāve had about BK Being Framed I just think itās less likely that heās being framed than it is that heās guilty so thatās just my opinion I know thatās a conspiracy
Theory thatās out there and itās got a lot of traction but um to your point earlier if he was being framed I think they they would have done a little bit better of a job yeah because essentially thereās nothing right now that we know of because it hasnāt been out there that
Links him to the murders other than the DNA on that one snap on the sheath yeah everything else is really circumstantial I couldnāt agree more if some back to the thing if they were GNA back to the knife sheath if they were GNA frame him they could have done a
Better job exactly like you said my other reaction to that is um why would the FBI not see the cover up like the FBI is involved like so itās not just them operating in their own vacuum they called immediately called in federal law enforcement so the idea to
Frame would have had to either involve the FBI or require the um ignorance of the FBI and Iām not yeah not necessarily at the point where Iām going to buy that at this point so um for our next our next clip weāre actually going to bring back the um the comicās opinion whatās
His name again Debbie Iām so sorry AR okay AR and uh our next question is how do you explain the car at the scene so um letās see what he has to say because but before I bring this up this goes a little off subject but it would
Explain why weāre seeing a car turn around and it was such interesting information I had to play it I donāt know how relevant it is but I think I think you guys are going to find why I chose it in a second hold on 23 there we
Go oops I guess Iām not I didnāt pull him up Present here we go but Iām going to tell you this minimum of three people involved three people minimum one had to be a driver because you never want to leave your getaway car parked and unable to get out in a quick manner you always have a getaway
Driver always itās how you get out of the home you get in the car and get the hell on if this is a single perpetrator thatās too much on your shoulders to try to figure out ladies and gentlemen not only do you got to park then walk to get
In then commit the crime then figure out how to get out and then Escape without people seeing you then decloe get into the car try to drive around try to keep your heartbeat steady try to keep your eyesight on the road not go off the side of the road because youāre shaking from
What to juice no no no no Iāve been in this I know what itās like I know what the heartbeat feels like I know what the emotion is getaway driver is very necessary could it be numerous cars were used in this Iāve stated that I feel like there
Were numerous cars involved in this and a minimum of three people and I think there could be upwards of more I really do especially when I lay it out there I think this is an issue that comes to a drug or snitching situation again like a perspective that
Is breathtaking because it makes so much sense and itās something I havenāt really put my brain around I I hadnāt really thought about yet so uh do you have an immediate reaction to what he was saying yeah I just I I think that heās saying letās say we didnāt know
Anything about any other suspects BK we donāt know anything in looking at that type of crime it was and the way the evidence was how it is I think his theory makes perfect sense that you would you would have a getaway driver youād have someone else to help I
Mean and I think that weāre not thinking that way because everythingās been set up for us to believe that BK did this right everything we hear itās more like well he had to have done it because of a because of B because of C weāre not hearing as much people like AR saying
Hey letās think about it another way because heās right if that crime was committed in the short amount of time that it was with seemingly very little evidence Left Behind how in the world did one person do that I know and in the mount in the
Amount of time you said it right there like itās just and the other part that experts have said which I would assume it like the exhaustion like how does a someone physically do that alive for people um I I have nothing to add other than that Iām still waiting to see if
The vehicle nav system is going to be part of evidence I know weāve had some internet salth trying on uh YouTube doing some Aaron Brockovich type investigating and theyāve uh they believe that there was no Bluetooth in there or uh and no navigation system um internet sluth ran the VIN number to
Brianās car recently through a Master Mechanic at elre allegedly um so weāll see weāll see what happens he didnāt give his name he didnāt give his company so itās not an official no he said he called hondai directly right yeah but they she she actually had Hyundai on the phone she
She had her microphone up to the laptop and heās like heās saying oh Iām having some problems with the system Iām paraphrasing and heās like oh there it is he goes Yep this one did not have the vehicle nav system unfortunately he goes this car didnāt even have Bluetooth
Which then kind of I kind of I said okay well Iām going to take this with a grain of salt but itās um itās definitely something I would never do but um good for her for trying to you know get some more information but anyway so itās hard for
Me to even say you know that I know but if we got the vehicleās nav system thereās going to have to be some heās at the scene so I donāt know I donāt have much more to add I donāt want to start right all right so weāre going to go to the
Next item on our list um BKās family support and um we do have we do have some not only do we have a clip to show you but Gia actually has done a little bit of a deeper dive just giving us some M using the words words matter and sheās going
To break down actually what has been said so this is ABC 4 out of Utah can you guys see that yeah yes overnight his former attorney in Pennsylvania Jason labar telling ABC News he is still in touch with coberās family and says his mother is still supportive of her son she would first
And foremost put out her heart heartfelt sympathies for the four families she prays for them every day and canāt imagine the situation that theyāre in but on the flip side of that sheās obviously supportive and she want to see how the case unfolds for her SP really pressing the presumption of innocence to
Anyone that will listen cobber has not entered a plea he is currently being held without bail and is due back in court in June mola langy ABC News okay so J when we spoke about this earlier you mentioned that um you have just a couple more specifics about the
Family members and where they might be positioning themselves well um you know I I can I Iām gonna read a quote from the attorney if you donāt mind unless okay so what he said also in addition to what you just played is he said um the
Family is standing by their son in an effort to promote not his presumption of innocence he went on to say we have fully cooperated with law enforcement agencies in an attempt to seek the truth and promote his presumption of In G if you can hear me youāre Frozen and make arous assumptions that was on I couldnāt tell if you could or not okay or hear me I can hear you now okay okay I could you hear what I read no okay no you can if
You could read it over that would be great okay so this is on behalf of the parents and one sister remember he has two sisters okay very clearly stating only one sister is involved in this quote um we have fully cooperated with law enforcement agencies in an attempt to
Seek the truth and promote his presumption of innocence rather than judge unknown facts and make erroneous assumptions um they went on to say the curers say they will continue to let the legal process unfold and as a family we will love and support our son and our brother the attorney said Brian Colberg
Is eager to be exonerated of these charges and he looks forward to resolving these matters as promptly as possible they continue to say three people the statement is the three people so that tells me one of the sisters is purposely not on the same page as the rest of her
Family and it brings you you had reported something a couple podcasts ago about hearing I want to say it was on a dateline episode that I want it was the neighbor neighbor a family acquaintance Mike the neighbor report I think this is where the source came from he reported
That the sister was thought it was really that she was reporting she saw him wearing gloves and putting his trash oh yeah well one of the sisters was very quick as soon as they reported that the car was a white alantra Hyundai white alantra the one sister immediately said
To the rest of the family well thatās odd Brian drives the white Elantra this is what I said Hy Elantra and Brian was there at this time frame where these murders took place and heās been wearing gloves ever since heās been home 247 surgical gloves and heās putting his
Trash anything with his DNA on it and Ziploc bags and walking it over to the neighbors and putting it in their trash so very suspect Behavior and so they immediately went out to look into his car and and then realized heā cleaned it out completely or to the best of his
Ability the car had already been cleaned so there wasnāt anything for them to find but I think the one sister has been suspicious of him since that moment and I think thatās why she didnāt want to join in with that statement and and not only that none of
His family so there we support him I so thereās something that tells me theyāre saying we donāt think itās not him weāre just not ready to say we think it is him yet and weāre going to support him because we love him and heās our family
Until it comes out to what really did happen um because I find it odd that none of his family members have visited him in a Idaho while heās been behind bars and I mean you might say well itās 2500 miles away but his parents are retired thereās
No reason and his sister lost her job thereās no reason that a family member who loves and supports you wouldnāt be there in my opinion you you judge people by their actions not their words and if itās the simple act of showing up for your family
That shows your support itās why we show up to Childrenās recitals like extended family member itās not because you want to see the childrenās recital itās because you want to show support for your family member um you know I just right yeah it I I yeah so actions speak
Louder them words and I think itās I think you might have kind of Hit the angle is if they feel that if it is Brian as a family their intuition might be telling them that and they you know they have to support their son but maybe theyāre not showing up because
Theyāre just waiting you know any doing the bare minimum and my words arenāt flowing out on this one itās a tough subject um all right letās go right into the next the next uh topic which is the unknown DNA and um I donāt have any clips for this but I
Do just want to touch base on it really quickly I had some thoughts on the unknown DNA um if so Iām GNA take this screen down my feeling on this is Iām really bothered by the unknown DNA like a lot of people if when they initially ran Brian coberās
DNA through cotus they also ran two other DNA unknown male dnas none of them came back but they did something further with Brian coberās DNA and my question is if the DNA was important enough to run through codus at that moment why is it not important to get a DNA profile or
Try to do some genealogy trying to figure out who these dnas are I donāt understand why they were important to run through cotus at that moment moment but not important now and if they were run through codus that means they have a DNA profile and when an Taylor asked for
Um the DNA those two unknown suspects DNA from the lab at one of the first hearings of evidence why was she told that they donāt have a workup on it because they have to Iām assuming not an expert but Iām assuming they have to to run it through codus so Iām Iām
Disturbed by that Iām also um anyway thatās thatās all I got any thoughts G so from what I understand the DNA that goes through codus is just a broken off piece of DNA it doesnāt include a whole ton of information so like the DNA thatās used for like 23 and
Me and ancestry.com particularly 23 and me is a whole chain of DNA which gives you thatās what gives you an entire profile and itās a profile not of criminal Behavior right cotus is just the only thing youāre going to find in kotas is if youāve been in committed a
Crime in the past and youāre in the system 23 in me has all kinds of people what they found is um there are ways so when you sign up for 23 and me you can opt out of law enforcement being able to look into your
DNA right and but you donāt have to but someone found a loophole and I think it was with the G GD match I think that company they found a loophole where you can actually find the profiles of the people who have opted out but you really
Not supposed to so thereās a lot of like legal stuff here where can they really do that and I think this is part of the um why Brian Brianās attorneys are asking for this indictment to be dismissed because theyāre saying you didnāt legally obtain his DNA profile
Because you you werenāt supposed to do it the way that you did and therefore it should be thrown out I think thatās what theyāre going to say so they want to get that evidence thrown out on a technicality um will they be successful I donāt know because DNA so thatās just a very
Interesting aspect to it um you know um but does that mean theyāll get the other DNA thrown out because they did swab his cheek when they arrested him and now that DNA can be used in a different way it is strange I mean it almost seems
Like itās a civil rights kind of thing not necessarily throw out like oh violated maybe we should you know Sue or something in the yeah exactly and thatās what theyāre saying like you werenāt you didnāt have permission to obtain it this way you obtained the evidence for his DNA
Illegally in their opinion and therefore evidence thatās obtained illegally canāt be admissible I I believe thatās going to be their argument but they canāt use that same argument for the DNA they swabbed from his cheek from the Buckle swab right right because that was obtained legally and you know I I think
The DNA is is um I understand why the def is trying so hard to get the DNA thrown out because thatās their case right and um Ted Williams whoās a lawyer and a former homicide detective um he says the case hinges on the DNA evidence Bās phone pings and
Evidence thatās collected from BKās vehicle which is going to also go back to DNA right so if they get the DNA thrown out then the case is not so strong and um thereās another guy John Kelly heās a criminal profiler and psychoanalyst and he is experience interviewing mass
Murders and he agrees he agrees with Ted Williams so um according to Williams and this is a quote no matter how hard you try to clean up physical evidence I can unequivocally tell you that the authorities have means and methods to overcome those cleanings meaning that
Thereās no way BK could have cleaned his car so well um that nothing would be left behind and and even one of the things that they talk about is you know when you you put on your seat belt click right thereās all the and then you take
Your seat belt off and and half the seat Bel retracts back up into the seat belt compartment well did he have the forethought to pull that out how could he get inside that compartment and really clean it because if there was DNA evidence on that seat belt from like if
He got in the car allegedly he if he committed the murders he gets in the car he buckles the seat belt now itās pulling DNA evidence and and thatās going back up into his car and they have that we just again Iāll say when it gets to
Trial thatāll come out and if that evidence is there thereās no way and this is another quote um we wouldnāt know that anyia they wouldnāt have submitted that in the original arrest affidavit or it just wouldnāt be there yet or we just donāt know okay well we donāt know what they found because
Thereās a gag order police canāt tell us what what theyā found from that we just know they collected it right so and um this is another guy Joseph G colone retired New York Police Department sergeant and heās a professor at John J College of Criminal Justice and he said
He said about the DNA evidence collected from the car if any one of those kids those kids meaning the four victims DNA or the dogās DNA was either in his apartment or car his goose is cooked thereās no way to explain that away so thatās if the prosecution has that thatāll be
Presented at the trial and I think what theyāre saying is if that gets presented they itās over game over for Brian Colberg I donāt know what happened could you hear all that I didnāt hear the last part Iām sorry I donāt I I apologize to everyone for this recording itās just
Not as smooth as we usually are I think thereās some internet difficulties I guess so I donāt know what I donāt know what where are you I left off I could hear myself the whole time so um hold on the um Iām actually just going to go
To the next one we have which is um why would BK keep the receipts why would BK keep the receipts um I mean I can think of a couple obvious reasons but this one really tripped me up when I started hearing it in the comments cuz it doesnāt make much
Sense I mean I think as an accident as a trophy I think itās a really legitimate point to bring up that I think it was a mistake a mistake I think he didnāt realize he kept it because the only thing on there that theyāre talking about is the dicky
Jumpsuit I donāt know what else was on the receipt but I donāt think it indicated do you remember I think Dickies it didnāt say jumpsuit and it gave the price and then people did some research yeah yeah so I donāt know I mean word jumpsuit came from the bloom article right but
Maybe it wasnāt anything related maybe it wasnāt a Dickie jumpsuit maybe it was something else we donāt really know and if thatās the case then what does he care if he keeps a receipt from Walmart if itās not indic eating anything heās pretty meticulous so I I feel like if
That had anything incriminating on it he wouldnāt have kept it so almost like the fact that he kept it means itās not significant yeah I once somebody started bringing that up to me I started I started questioning whether that receipt is as big of a deal is we were all
Putting emphasis on um yeah yeah so I mean itās itās itās something we need to bring up because itās what people are talking about in the comments we want you all to know about it but you know itās a great question I I have no answers why he would have kept it other
Than an accident or as some people say a trophy yeah and then people so weāre getting back into the navigation system and everything putting all of that aside not knowing what we donāt know about the 54 terabytes of data that the police have what we do know is how did the
Question is coming up is basically in all different forms people are asking how they determined the route that Brian took both coming to the scene of the crime and then leaving and um my understanding is that itās a combination of different cameras that were subpoena
Um it was a a forensic data um um rake that they did that they got a lot of these pictures in cell phone data pings and so it was a combination of these two things how they determined his root there and root back Gia have you heard
Any other ways that they determine this I didnāt hear of any eyewitnesses or anything else um do you have some insight on this I think they just did that I think they pieced together the root because they they found what they believed was the car that they are seeing on the video
Surveillance at the scene and then I think they just did exactly what you said they got footage from cameras between Kingās Road and BKās apartment and then they just thought they spotted him and then they overlaid that with pings from cell phone towers with his cell phone and they kind of matched up
And so theyāre making the presumption that the car that theyāre seeing on the video is BKās car and that he had his cell phone with him I I donāt thereās no really other way to do that unless he you know we donāt know this one witness is saying he didnāt have a
Nav system but we really donāt know that so if he did have a nav system or he had any kind of tracking system in the Hyundai theyāll theyāll be able to use that also and and and if they can thatās going to be the nail in the coffin
Because thatās going to be exact thatās going to show exactly where he was and when how long he stopped and you know so thatāll be damning evidence if they get that you know I but you know with the pings on the cell phone Iām sorry no keep going keep going with your thought
I was gonna say the pings on the cell phone theyāre not as you know itās not like if my cell phone pings off this Tower I could still be at least 14 miles away in a radius of 14 miles so itās not really putting me somewhere specific
Itās just putting me in the general vicinity and not even triangulating it so to speak so I mean like I get like they could if they have enough pings as heās moving away and moving towards it and you have a photograph and you have a point you could use triangulation to
Know a pretty exact spot where someone is I believe but I donāt know um but but back to the nav it kind of makes sense that that one thing I would say that maybe backs up crime sleuthy a little bit with her investigation is we donāt know where the murder weapon and the
Dickies or all any of the any of the evidence we donāt know where it went whoever did this if it was BK and he had a nap system like we were talking about before we would have known where he stopped when he opened his door um we do
Know that they were Nancy Grace when she was doing that um when she was doing that interview the car that um she was talking about whatās the name of that guy that she was talking about the um the attorney who was the attorney who they used the
Evidence from his nav system to convict him well um I donāt remember the example that she was using in that interview he had a much more expensive car and it has a lot more bells and whistles attached to its vehicle navigation system so Brianās cars wouldnāt have the same capability
But if the nav systems there if you know we were told that if he opened a door or stopped the car that would be that would be recorded so we would actually know where he possibly put that evidence and maybe the fact that we donāt have that
Might Bode for the argument that there isnāt a navigation system thatās my long version we donāt know if we have it or not yeah they might have it they very well may have it I mean the only ones that know are the prosecution and the defense because they would have
Had to share that with the defense and Discovery and being under a gag order no one else is going to know but Iām if it exists they have it yeah but we donāt have murder well yeah they might on that same note they might have a murder weapon or evidence
We donāt know I guess well hereās the thing we donāt know but also that if they have that capability of knowing exactly where he was and where he was stopping and all that then theyāre GNA say oh he stopped at mile marker 16 I wonder what for maybe he got out of
The car and threw the knife deep in the woods or buried it somewhere so itās going to give him a little more information for their investigation I would think yeah and the um the case I was talk about earlier I just remembered his name is Murdoch um
That they were that that Nancy Grace was giving an example to in her last oh oh oh I okay you know which one of Iām sorry I thought you were saying the name of the yeah I know what youāre yeah I know what youāre talking about I thought
You were saying what was the name of the investigating officer that was talking about that not Murdoch okay Alec Alec M yeah okay yes but he had a he had a was accused of kill car and his car possibly gave more information so on the flip side you know
Maybe they wouldnāt be able to tell as much but weāre weāll find out and itās the good thing is is that yeah sleuthy at least gives us a moment to pause and think okay well maybe maybe that evidence isnāt going to be there and thatās just right devastating but um it
Is what it is so itās devastating for the defense of Brian and for the prosecution because if he is innocent that would have shown where he was and that he wasnāt around that crime and so itās devastating for all parties I think unless heās guilty well you know and this is just a
Total side thought where you just said if he is innocent you know one of the in just earlier this morning and I just reading and listening to things you know I was reading about how one of the surviving roommates um the the defense wanted to interview her and they were trying to
Make her come back to Idaho for that then they finally agreed to interview her out in Neva Reno Nevada um because um the defense is saying she has information that could clear Brian so stay tuned because that is the this is what an Taylorās saying that this surviving roommate has information
That could clear her client I think we all just have to keep that that I hate to say open mind is the wrong descriptive word but we breathe when we hear this information because we just donāt know whatās coming out itās going to be shocking as you quoting you
As you said before yeah and we have to remind everybody because Iām qu you know my opinion and Iām like I I do you think heās more likely to be guilty than innocent thatās just my opinion but we do have to keep in mind that everybody is innocent until proven guilty and
There is a definite possibility that Brian Colberg is innocent Iām actually gonna put that as a banner um across the screen because we do want to remind everyone that you are innocent and um proven guilty yes and we have to everythingās alleged yeah or itās just my opinion and thatās my opinion opion
Itās you know not factual but itās itās op just canāt share misinformation thatās the only stipulation um right and I just want to make sure people realize itās my opinion itās not information thatās set in stone yeah no yeah same same here with me um
Yeah all right weāre moving on to one of the I I feel this is the biggest um the biggest story going on other than the trial right now in this case which is BKās current friends and the reason itās a story is because there is no story and
Um Iām actually going to show Iām not showing a video but I just want to show share my screen and show a um come on sh screen all right so crime sluy can you see that Gia Iām not on the screen yes okay so crime sleuthy tonight at 7 pm is interviewing
Zannaās mother Cara carod and um the reason Iām bringing this up in relevance to BKās friends is because carara has been shouting at the top of her lungs basically to anyone that will listen why is nobody talking about this case she she says not only when we talk about the
Students and the fraternities and that nobodyās coming out with public statements but also on Brianās end so whether that means he doesnāt have any friends or acquaintances she doesnāt know but nobodyās talking and itās the radio silence that is she wants answers about so I think itās important to the
Reason Iām showing crime sluth is weāre going to hear straight from her tonight at 7 and if you have questions for carara you could go on to that live stream and ask them right there I know Iām going to be there and um I want to
See what this woman has to say um uh so I I do feel when I donāt have information on BKās current friends uh I Iāve Iāve listened to a few people make statements saying that you know they didnāt see anything unusual about him at the sales University yes if youāre
Studying criminology potentially you could be this type of person but other than that he was a normal student they said so G do you have any current information or friends you can add to this or what you think well I I donāt think he had
So I donāt think he had many friends for a couple of reasons one is he was only out there for three months before this took place so he didnāt have a lot of time to make friendships or real deep friendships I know of one acquaintance it seemed like he might be acquaintances
With people that he worked with or that he te with at the college um because there was that one instance where a girl obviously felt friendly enough with him to let him know she had known that he had been a a security guard previously this is someone he worked with and she
Was noticing things were getting moved around in her apartment and we talked about this before so she she asked him um to help her set up kind of like camera surveillance in her apartment and he did and you know he had access to all the
Cameras so was she a friend and I donāt know she was an acquaintance but she felt friendly enough that she could ask him to do that for her so I think he had people that were on a very surfacy level and also the other thing is Nancy Grace
Tried to delve into this right and what did she come up with a couple of people he knew in middle school or one person he knew in middle school that was the only friend she could find good point I just came out tells me he didnāt have any yeah
That documentary youāre referencing just came out for those who havenāt seen weāre talking about in the last probably a little more than 30 days ago um and she was just doing that trying to figure out um yeah what was the name of that I forget I am blank or something yeah
Yeah um the other thing is maybe not necessarily as far as friends but we do know he was going he was trying to be romantically involved so he did go on a date since he moved there and I you know I didnāt really put in perspective he
Had just moved there it is hard to especially at the age of 28 you donāt just jump into a relationship with someone you meet at a bar you you cultivate friendships and you pick who your friends are a little more and I he hadnāt been there for that long but he
Had been trying to date whether heās successful at it or not um we do have witnesses coming coming out saying that he was on Tinder and so um yeah and and I think that pushed us back a little bit against the incel argument thatās what I was gonna say
Then how then heās not really an incel if heās on Tinder and unless for other reasons than dating right we donāt know he could have been on Tinder seeking out a victim isnāt that frightening to think be careful out there girls yeah well remember the Craigslist killing so it
Happens yeah but um gosh would be um itās it is it is another point just on what Caraās mother is saying if he was on Tinder why why hasnāt anyone else come out to say about their failed or S date with I itās just so
Weird admit they went on a date with him I donāt know but yeah but I donāt I donāt think he just because youāre on there doesnāt mean you ever wiped left or right I donāt know which way is the Iām not on Tinder but um you know I
Donāt it doesnāt mean he was utilizing it he could have just been you know like looking yeah because heās kind of a peeper right like didnāt didnāt they say he had some history of being a Peeping Tom well I can say the drip drop has been bringing one of the things
Whoops one of the things we talk about is it should be in his behavior profile we donāt know that I havenāt heard I personally havenāt heard any that I can recall hearing uh incidents where Brian had been voy committing voyerism but we talked a lot about the latter Drip Drop
Talks a lot about the latter and then when you I think it was Chris MCD the investigator you covered several podcasts ago he talked about voyerism as one of the number one things leading up to it and he wanted to get into the closets of right yes yes y so yeah um
And and then our final our final um subject which I hesitate to cover again on this channel but I want to address the people who are kind enough to watch our videos and ask questions and I want to talk about the coop the kopaka connection yeah I think we just have it
Spelled incorrectly on there oh God how do you spell it okay Iām sorry K thatās all right itās a Ka a instead of ha it was probably just a typ well um I mean no disrespect we we do take this very seriously I actually thought I corrected that spelling but no
Thatās okay I just wrong in case anyone asks yeah so anyway what are your thoughts on kopaka I donāt know I I really donāt I iā probably like to hear yours because I you know I I vacillate between thinking thereās a connection and then thinking thereās absolutely no connection so I
Donāt know I need to delve into that one a little bit further yeah I I tried to do a a deep dive on this when when it was being asked in the comments and or I did it went as deep as I could before I I just
Decided I I felt there was no connection but basically what I found was um one of the people you can go to if you want to know more about this would be jlc investigates heās another True Crime sleuth here on YouTube and he tried to do a deep dive he was thinking
There was a kopaka connection and I believe he lives in that area because he actually was the one who went into Jack In The Box and tried to get the order that was given by the door Dash that night and he spoke to someone there and then his information ended up being
Wrong but thatās who J jlc is investigates is but he he lives in the area as far as I understand so I think he was able to do a little bit deeper dive um and I think he actually spoke with some people who knew kopaka he has
Put out several videos now saying there is no connection and so thereās just one person you can turn to who has tried to go behind the scenes and people trust him my feelings on this is Iāve done a lot of traveling in my life Iāve traveled different places in this world
Iāve traveled different places in this country and every time you sit down to talk to somebody in a new place the first thing you notice is that we are all Six Degrees of Separation yeah itās just itās uncanny when you talk to someone they know somebody from where you are theyve been
Where you are or they know about where youāre going itās itās always that way and um I can confidently say that in my age Iāve Iāve always found that everywhere Iāve gone so the the connections arenāt as intriguing to me as you think I think theyāre ironic and
I I think they prove patterns of life in the world but I I donāt believe theyāre you know much more than that but the biggest reason why um I think we can put some confidence that he wasnāt involved is listening back to bana Fox um and the
Former FBI agent that weāve played on this channel and her quote and again she teaches forensics aside from being a FBI forensic analysis expert her whole career she says that in order to pull off a crime like this you have to bat a thousand now Brian colorker basically B
At a thousand except for the knife sheath and some other photographic evidence but honestly do you think kopaka did too I mean how could two people bat a thousand I just donāt see those um those odds being favorable and number two I just donāt think kopaka had the knowledge and the nimbleness and
Knowledge to necessarily do that although he have combat training to pull it off um I just donāt see him batting a thousand in keeping his fic evidence to himself I just right and also Brian curer is facing a firing squad so this is a death penalty case right if there was an
Accomplice I think he would have given him up by now and we would see an arrest absolutely thatās one of the most powerful you make yeah yeah youāre not gonna fall on the sword for someone like you know no I and I I think that um I feel a
Little bit bad for kopaka and and uh that his name has been dragged through this it was just an awful timing when the incidents went on at the location of the um WSU campus um and then other than that I mean weāve been on for an hour Iām gonna
Take a peek here at letās see if we can find any updates on the um on the case where were you looking at those affid Davis was that the where should I go I need court documents um let me look Iām using the wrong keyb Board all right Iām gonna bring up my screen here so you guys can see what youāre typing in and Iām GNA type in tell me if you find anything no I have it I have the statement versus Bri okay are they still in court right now that you know thereās nothing
New I okay hold on state Idaho and just seeing if anythingās been filed on the case itās you have to scroll so far because no not been they probably still are um well I think the 1:00 I think the 1:00 hearing is what is that I think the one o00 hearing is
Still going on the 9:30 is probably over so um I wish we had something to update you with um you know but weāre going to find out soon and weāll get an update posted on the channel either way hold on a second how long do you think I hear just something here hold
On hold on I donāt know something was just posted 17 minutes ago and Iām just trying to see um I donāt see anything new I donāt either 23 hours ago very 17 minutes ago yeah but theyāre just saying thereās nothing new there and this is the end this this
Looked like it had a video well it couldnāt be live anyway all right letās no because itās not live but you know letās just say as soon as we can as soon as we find an update weāll just pop back on live right and we just want to thank you
