Sorority typically takes place at the beginning of any given semester however each organization and council typically have a diff have a different timeline for instance many of our ucpc organizations have a formal recruitment process held over labor day weekend in the fall our isc organizations host a number of events over a multi-week
Period at the beginning of the semester to introduce you to the chapter its members and their values however our igc and mphc organizations typically host events in a multi-week period or throughout the semester for you to come out participate in social and educational programs and meet their community
After attending a number of these events and you have shown interest in the organization they may ask you to join by participating in the intake process the following semester before becoming a full member how do i join joining a fraternity authority will look a little bit different depending on the chapter in
The council ucpc hosts a formal recruitment process every fall semester eight of the nine ucpc organizations participate and potential new members get the chance to meet with the chapters to learn about their respective scholarship philanthropy and sisterhood the ninth organization ucpc’s associate stem sorority will host their individual events
Following formal recruitment ucpc also has an informal recruitment period that occurs in the spring but it’s important to note that unlike the fall semester not every organization is available to participate in informal recruitment ifc typically holds recruitment every semester recruitment is kicked off at first ifc first night
Where all 13 organizations come together to meet anyone interested in joining their community from there ifc organizations invite potential new members and host a number of their own events so that you can get to know them better as for our igc and mphc organizations they provide a range of opportunities

Or attending their on-campus events such as cfsc meet the greeks the best advice we can give to you is show up be present and keep an open mind you never know who you might meet whichever counsel you choose it is important to note that joining a fraternity sorority is a mutual selection process
You will have the opportunity to meet them and see if your values and goals match the chapter but chapters have the opportunity to meet you and decide if they see those same values in you if you receive a bid or invitation to join a fraternity sorority who will participate in new member education
