Convocation with the Church of God in Christ and today I went to the men’s meeting those of you who don’t know I was born and raised in the Church of God in Christ I Am Second Generation Church of God in Christ um I think my husband is Third Generation Church of God in
Christ um I’m not coic anymore I do not attend a coic church anymore I have not attended a Church of God in Christ Church in uh almost three years now so uh on a a regular basis I visit sometimes you know because we have lots of friends in the Church of God in
Christ and family in the Church of God in Christ so I visit coic churches often but I do not attend a coic church anymore um but that being said my husband got his ministerial license from the Church of God in Christ uh some years ago I was licensed as an
Evangelist missionary in the Church of God in Christ we have coic Roots you know how people dye their hair on the outside and then you look down in there and it’s it’s gray well if you look down deep inside of our spiritual Roots you’ll find that we have a lot of coic
Roots so you can believe that what I’mma say I I I’m saying it from my heart I love and I want to put the emphasis on love I love the people the Saints my of the Church of God in Christ I love them I have not lost any love because we left
And we go to we’re in a different church I love them um but God saw fit to move us out to move us to another church and to move us out and um in 20 actually we started visiting other churches in 2020 2020 and then um 2021 is when we really
Narrowed it down and started going to the local church that we attend now and we love it we’re we’re so grateful for what God has done we’re so grateful for the people that he has allowed us our brothers and sisters to connect with um
I can’t say enough we we we love we love where we are now uh but I still care very about what happens in the Church of God in Christ I again I love the Church of God in Christ and I care so deeply about what happens there because it is where
The Lord saw fit the church the Lord saw fit to save me in and the church the Lord saw fit for me to First hear the gospel in and the fir and the church the Lord saw fit for me to First be discipled in so for that I am so
Grateful for the Church of God in Christ but that being said it is not without um it is not without fault it is not perfect and no church is perfect I’m gonna say that we won’t find a perfect church until we get to heaven um today you know I had week I
Told my husband we we were talking about whether or not we were going to attend the convocation we have not attended the convocation in years I mean so many years right I think it was the last one we attended was um let’s see in 2007 maybe
2008 was the last one we attended before before this one so it’s been so many years um but um we were going we were talking about going on tonight but as I watched um the live stream I just kind of was like no I I don’t
Think no but I said Within Myself I said Lord only way I go and want to be in that is if Bishop Patrick l wooden was preaching I had no idea he was preaching because I hadn’t checked to see um but we tune in to Bishop wooden’s
Week Bible study and his YouTube CH and and and after we get out of church we come home and we listen to Bishop wooden so I um watch the announcements that he does uh Bible study like Bible study during the day he’ll make that video and just invite
You out to Bible study and um so I watched that and he he mentioned that he would be today at the holy convocation during the men’s meeting going to be at 10 o’cl and I go babe guess who’s speaking and uh he was like Bishop wouldn’t because he already knew and I
Was like damn we gotta go so I was scheduled to work I counsel all of my classes I was like and and like I said anybody who knows me you know I do not sacrif religious stuff for religious Gams I don’t sacrifice for religious games you it’s got to be the
Real deal so anyway I said I’m so excited I’m just as excited as I used to be when I was in college when I was a little girl and and when I was a little girl and we used to drive down to the convocation because I grew up going to the convocation every
Year especially on official Sunday um so anyway I was super super excited to hear Bishop wooden um because I do believe has given has raised Bishop wooden up for such a time as this and God has put his word in his mouth so we really enjoyed the worship the the
The men was so good um just the worship was really good I had my good friend with me along with my husband and my daughter one of my daughters and we were just enjoying ourselves and God was blessing and it was just a beautiful thing but then something
Happened our and I’m saying I I’m saying our presiding Bishop because I still feel like I’m very much a part of the churchurch of God in Christ at heart so the presiding Bishop got up and he was he was going to introduce someone and I thought that
This person he was introducing was going to be Bishop Patrick wooden because that was who was supposed to that was who was speaking right the keynote speaker he gets up and he says all these good things and and when he said actor an actor I know it wasn’t Bishop wooden
Then because Bishop wooden is not an actor he’s the real deal holy F he ain’t he ain’t he’s not playing okay um but anyway he introduces Cornell West yeah let that that sink in Cornell West CNN loves having Cornell West on their broadcast cast they they they
Always get him as a commentator right Cornell West is one of the most leftist persons they could have ever had to Grace of all places the pull pit of Mason Temple Cornell West for those of you who do not know Cornell West I want to ask

Problem in the Church of God in Christ and and there are many one of the current problems that they are facing is that fraternities and sororities are taking over the Church of God in Christ things that I know before are taking over Mo most of the new the young pastors and the young
Elders that’s why I don’t want to go to none of their churches most of them are pledging their lives away to all these fraternities and sororities well not sororities not the pastors those are the first ladies doing the sororities the pastor’s wives and and the part about it is these are of them
Have been out of college for years and they’re going to this stuff now I’m gonna say this I 100% agree with Bishop wooden on his stance when it comes to fraternities and sororities in the house of God God said Jesus said my house a House of Prayer
But you talking to those those religious people those that were merchandis in God’s house you have made it a den of Thieves what are we making God’s house if we’re making it anything besid a House of Prayer a house a house that is focused on Jesus Christ the Chief
Cornerstone of our faith the stone that the builders rejected then we need to tear whatever we’re bringing and that’s not about God’s agenda down I am not saying that everyone who has pledged in a fraternity or sorority is not uh saved I’m not saying that though I question why a Christian a mature

Wooden he didn’t even stay he didn’t stay for Bishop wooden’s message he didn’t stay and you know Bishop wooden is such a man of class and such a man of God he didn’t throw shade at him he didn’t try to stab him in the back or you know what he did he
Honored he said I thank God for our leader Bishop J Drew Shear I thank God for him and he had to leave because he had to go to the women’s meeting he had to leave and go to the women’s meeting do you that all of those men that was
With him including M Cornell and Mr Cornell to stay Mr Cornell West should have stayed and heard Bishop wooden’s message because he should have got on that alter they he should have been on that Altar and and maybe maybe just maybe he would have got delivered but they didn’t even they didn’t even

To be so thankful for preachers like Bishop Wood the standing that’s staying on the wall that’s calling Sin Sin that’s holding up holding up the gospel they need to be so grateful let me tell you why you need to be grateful because the moment God snatches those kind of
