Out and let’s get into what we’re gonna be talking about today so today we’re going to be talking about 5 5 reasons you should join a NPHC organization so stay tuned All right so the number one reason you should join a MPAC organization is because of the networking opportunities once you graduate college it’s gonna be hard to kind of build those connects it’s gonna be hard to get into the area that you’re trying to get into whether that’s the medical field IT higher
Education anything like that it’s gonna be hard so it’s good to have a network it’s good to have a foundation at least starting so if you’re involved in it MPAC organization fraternity sorority and you say a business major there’s going to be so many people in your area
Whether you join a sorority or whether you’re doing it for turning that you can reach out to and say I’m currently looking for job opportunities I’m currently looking for internships you can reach out to them and then they can help you out they can say yeah I know
This frat I know this or that can help me out in the area that you’re trying to get into and it’s good to have that network right there in your back pocket I’m not saying that it’s gonna be guaranteed but to at least have the opportunity just imagine graduating from
College not having a network at all you’re just open to the world you don’t have nowhere to start but at least once you graduate you would have somewhere to start where that’s grabbed tap the weather’s you going to the national website and seeing people in your area
You can reach out to them they most likely will help because they’ve been in your shoes before but having networking opportunities is wonderful I can even tell you multitude of times where I’ve been able to reach out to some of my frat Buzz’s be like yo look I need some help trying
To get a job in this air trying to get a job in this area and they are able to connect me with other brothers I worry about right now I’m in higher education I work for University there’s so many people that work for universities all over the world right
Now I’m in a group II the group meet is called in a group where is higher education professionals within my fraternity so everybody in my area they post about jobs they post about internships they post about all kind of things and I’m in that network so if I’m
Looking for a job outside of my university I have that opportunity just like the other day I reached out to someone on that same network house like any brothers in here work for fraternity or sorority life at their institution I got about 10 people saying yes I do
I was able to let them know about my channel because they might can benefit from my channel they might can give my channel and my advice to people within their area that they see on a day-to-day basis like networking opportunities is wonderful number two leadership involvement leadership involvement fraternities and
Sororities will help you get that leadership experience that you need I’m telling you employers are looking for leadership experience so it’s giving you that opportunity to get those leadership experience now I’m not saying that if you join a fraternity sorority you’re automatically gonna be a leader no you
Have to put yourself out there once you join a fraternity or sorority make sure you try to get on an exec board be the president be a vice president over social media do something like that so you could put that on your resume even though you can put your general member
Of that organization it’s still gonna look better if you’ve been a leader a legit leader in that organization so like I said whenever you go to apply for jobs internships the more leadership experience you have better not just with that fraternity or sorority but outside of that other
Organizations on campus and match that with being a fraternity and sorority it will help you out especially if somebody went across your application and they know about the NPHC organization of trying to talk or they’re in the aps-c organization you’re trying to join or they just in an mph the organization
Period they will help you out because they know the struggles they know what you’re about they know once they see president on their such a such chapter of five minutes of eternity Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority or whatever they know what you’re about because it takes dedication it takes work it takes time
It takes perseverance to be a leader in one of those organizations Nexus social opportunities this is key because you don’t always want to just go to class and that’s it you want to have options outside of class you want to be able to go to parties tailgates you want to be
Able to host events you want to go to forms but if you’re doing an EP AC organization you host form your host parties you host all kind of things that happen on campus that help students come together and you’re a part of that and
It just feels good at being an O and to be in that atmosphere that helps students come together and brand the student body together and not only that you have options to go into other MKC organization events as well of course all students can as well but you will be
The first to know if such as such as having a party or such as such as having a formal you will know because you’re in that community so it’s always good to have those social opportunities then going back to the resume if you’re hosting an event that’s something you
Could put on a resume as well especially if you raise money for a charity for example if you host a formal and all the proceeds go to March of Dimes or go to Puerto Rico a Houston like that stuff looks great on your resume as well not
Only if it’s business but it’s also social at the same time so you’re getting both business and social in by hosting the event hoping with you’ve been being a part of committee for that evening it’s a way to expand your college career like you don’t just go to
Class you have things to do you have options and that’s what fraternities or sororities do for people that give you option number four the Brotherhood the sisterhood and lifelong friends you will meet people that you probably would have never ever met a day in your life and this is
Example five of my groomsmen when I got married five of my groomsmen were a part of my fraternity and a part of my chapter I would have never met those guys if I never joined this fraternity and they’re great guys always keeping that and always keep me on my toes
Always pushing me to become a better person and you need people like that in your life you need people to push you you need people to always have your back you need people to be there for you and that’s what these group of guys are for
Me not just the five that was in my wedding but my whole chapter my whole fraternity if you join us for tea it’s a even bigger Network because sororities are larger than fraternity especially if you don’t have brothers or sisters you’re joining a PC organization now you
Have brothers and sisters and these guys aren’t just my brothers these are friends these are family I consider these guys my family I consider these guys part of my friend group I’m just calling them when I need them we constantly talk about snap track group me like we are literally families number
Five is academic achievement this is my last one academic achievement cuz you’re trying to graduate fraternities and sororities will help you graduate I’m telling you that now you might hear or report graduate man you need to have a certain GPA to join and you need to have
A certain GPA to maintain being in that organization so it pushes you to study it pushes you to go above and beyond within your academics we want you to graduate that’s the key every NPHC organization can have Achievement Scholarship some type of academics within their principles and they’re
Trying to make sure you graduate making sure you get that degree walk across that stage and do what you came to college for if you under the GPA limit you’re gonna feel academic suspension you can stole UK step you can’t do this you can’t do that because they’re making
Sure that you get the grades that you need to get to maintain and graduate man and that’s that’s key they have somebody accountable that’s looking over you to help make sure you succeed and you know a lot of universities it’s not gonna be fraternities sororities you know how the
Best GPA this nap but at my university as of right now University South Carolina we have the largest NPHC in South Carolina we have the largest NPHC in the SEC returning a sorority life so that’s in Casey organizations I have C MPC multicultural organizations as well they have the highest GPA for students
So that means people that join these fraternity stories have higher GPA average the students that’s not in our organization and they also have a higher graduation rate so that means people in these fraternities sororities that are graduating at a higher rate than students that’s not in a fraternity or
Sorority so what’s that telling you yes they party yes they have fun yes they do community service yes they’re leaders in the community but they’re also graduating this will make sure you think about those five reasons you should do any MPS you organization because it’s going to help your college careers gonna
Help you out later on in life and not just for step and not just for strolling but make sure you join for some of those five reasons is look into it do some research and see if the organizations and the champions that you’re trying to join are matching those five reasons
