Now, you might hear students refer to it as the Black Wednesday Wall, an area of campus that for over
Forty years continues to be a gathering place for Black people to congregate, play music, interact and generally have a good time connecting with each other as a group. Around the Wall, You may see members of Black Fraternities and Sororities, stepping and dancing, Black students enjoying food, and Black organizations hosting contests.
The Berkeley Shuffle is a fun line dance that you might just get to witness if you frequent the Wall. A project is currently underway to completely revitalize and reimagine the Black Wednesday Wall and the surrounding space, so make sure to stop by from time to time to see how it progresses.
