Oay we need to get him on this channel got some questions for him now standy Duke Riley uh so again some of the comments recently uh one of the shorts I just did is about battle buddies and how important that is Gary is from Victoria BC and it’s 11 degrees Victoria British
That’s Canada e 11 degrees out that is cold too cold there’s charala president counted four awesome good to see you Chara who’s also getting ready to go to boot camp so PT rinkor knowledge thick skin and be ready never quit or give up you know that thank you Carlos say it sounds good

Budweiser oh that’s Ray that’s Ray all right you got me Budweiser all right always a good drink there’s Derek OA you better push Derek Sergeant OA better have a you got a haircut I can’t tell any your little picture right there simpi brother glad you’re home for
The holidays take care of the family keep kicking butt and taking names every BR here Elite instant coffee and a bruisy chicken cutless to complete to compete with MREs that sounds pretty good instant coffee all right so again battle buddies that was a that was a a short I did a couple days
Ago got some great feedback on it and just how important it is to make those buddy checks uh we get caught up in our lives right when we’re active duty for those of you on active duty you know right now it’s the mission right you’re Focus laser
Focus on the mission and and what you have in the near future even the far out future for your unit and your career and and everything you have going on as an active duty marine or any branches of service so the Buddy checks happen because you’re with your buddies
Constantly um that that’s what you do you live eat breath sleep with them so it’s never really an issue but I got to tell you and those you that have been out for a while or or or that are out you know what I’m talking about you make that transition out
Whether you did four years or or a whole career you make the transition out and all of a sudden you step into a different realm right just like going in that culture shop all of a sudden you’re in a new environment surrounded by new people new and exciting and it’s crazy but you
Quickly get used to it you adjust adapt and overcome but then on the back end you get out and now your purpose is not so clear anymore right depend on what level you were at when you did get out what do you do now are you in charge of anybody do
You have a set of keys to the office all those little things that you don’t think about because you’re excited to get out it’s a new adventure you’ve been a civilian before a lot of you in your teenage years but then you get out in the purpose is
Gone a little lost right you do the transition briefs you hear all these things you get the the fire hose effect of a million things you got to accomplish and fill out and your VA loans and your disability and place to live stuff you don’t think about though
Is the everyday interaction you have with your fellow Marines sailors soldiers Airmen Coast Guardsmen space force Ians and it’s just gone so some of you some of us have found oursel in that place of wow what am I doing where am I the structure is
Gone the people are gone right you go to a new unit go to a new unit and instantly you have 100 200 300 th000 friends Grant out they’re co-workers but you’re surrounded by them you get out it’s a little different and it could be very
Good but it could also be very bad and that’s where we come in that’s what this communities for that’s what we’re trying to build and then again an ultimate goal to to have a a brick and mortar for us all to get together not just online not
Just on YouTube so those are all all things in the works but here’s what I got to tell you and again hearing from some of the comments those you that those of you that do struggle have struggled or are still struggling you’re not alone it’s happened to the best of us
And it’s happened to the worst of us people on this channel in our community of 11,000 thank you all for your support we’ve been there we’ve done that reach out discuss it talk about it be honest with whoever you’re talking about and know this at the end of the day
Day as much as you talk to people and as many people as you talk to they’re still not going to get it 100% And you got to be okay with that you have to understand that that they want to be there for you they want to understand but there’s some
Stuff going on in your head that they just don’t know and they’re not going to so be patient with them as well another piece of advice I always give when you’re doing anything with the military or the government be aggressive but also be patient so same goes for
When your spouse your kids your friends like bro what’s wrong with you man why you acting so weird they they’re concerned and they want to help you just got to help them help you right talking to Howard a little bit on on the comments earlier
Again it could be a struggle it could be hard and you can go deep deep dark into a very very dark place but we’re here to help you get out of it and you can and you will it’s just a matter of this community so let’s keep it going let’s
Keep it going let’s get it bigger better stronger faster and what we always say on here is 1% better every single day do something to make it better all right so buddy checks continue to do them through the holidays again this is a very exciting time right Christmas and New
Year’s families together it’s very exciting for a lot of us but remember it’s very sad and lonely for some so those are the ones reach out a text me how long does it take to Tex text message somebody DM get on their social media whatever their social media
Platform is all right Zing ping good to see you brother reporting in thanks for joining us brother Randy says working on my foodie truck almost ready to license thing about naming it the rig I missed the last of it delis there you are what was did you catch the name of the
Rig he was GNA get on there delis good to see you brother he would experience a little depression during that initial transition after retirement feel like going from hero to zero these forms are great for veterans R I’m telling you Woods it it again it happens to the best of us and sometimes
It blindsides you and you don’t even know um where did it come from felt like going from hero to zero that’s that’s a great way to put it another comment I had again on that same short was advice of Sergeant Major had given to him said that trans that transition can
Be like getting out of prison and then into the civilian world again think about that for a minute Carlos says been in that dark place it’s a revolving door that seems that it never ends I got to tell you Carlos I I feel the same because as dark as low and as
Some of you may have been or friends that you know and then and then you’re you’re on a all-time high everything is great something will I don’t want to use the word trigger but something will trigger you and you’ll you’ll kind of go back you’ll re um revert to those same
Dark areas um again that that if you are the one that have nightmares or even Daydreams or sounds or smells that kind of remind you of something it can easily put you right back in that place and again the people around you just don’t know okay again be patient with them
Zing ping says hard to relate to silian when I got out uh I hear you things same I had the same instantly against right away it was interesting and new and it was fun but then when you don’t have those same conversations the the same lingo right
Another uh saying I like is surround yourself with Warriors the conversation is different and it is and when you’re not surrounded by them anymore the conversation is different right we’re all professional we know how to talk that the things you don’t dis discuss in a in a setting like that sex
Religion politics got it but but all the stuff that your fellow service members do talk about especially when you’re together for a year in a combat zone in field training day in day out sleeping eating everything together the conversation is different um so just just be aware be aware and
And always know that we are here for you 247 Randy says 22 buckles 22 lives saves awesome that’s the name of it all right very cool all right so again with merch let me talk about merch for a minute no Preston Preston farmer Highway Hobbies the darkness play true Warriors
Survive there’s no is and tough tougher than escape from your own head yeah a amen and that’s um you know the the uh um I don’t want to say anything because I don’t want to appear weak that mentality we’re we’re way past that it’s strength Is What It Takes and a strong
Man or woman to discuss it and nothing weak about it asking for help come on again those days are over we’re we’re w way past that part of our careers and and even Society talk about it get it out there and again be there for each other always all right Chara what knowledge
Would you say is good to give to parents of friends my age wanting to go in very good Char here’s my advice do it what knowledge would you say is good to give to parents or friends age waned to go in so again for everyone’s knowledge Charlotte is getting ready to
Go to boot camp let us know when do you have a date yet and then he’s asking what do you give to parents of kids his age that the kids want to go in um real quick my parents were against it there was no one in my family except an uncle
A Vietnam veteran real bad PTSD never talked about it I didn’t even even know until after I had list enlisted in fact I was in a couple years before I even know knew that he was in so convincing my own parents was difficult and you know I I I had to convince them
That because I was still 17 that this is what I want to do I want to serve my country yes I joined the Marines because it was the hardest that’s the one I want to do uh and my recruiter told me I would never make it so all those things
Just fueled me even more to prove to not everyone else but prove to myself I could do it so if those kids Charlie you’re talking about do really want it and they know they’ve done research and they want to do it for the right reasons I want to
Say I want to believe that that’s enough for the parents to say hey I support you son or daughter with whatever you want to do my dad was even harder to convince because and he made me check the other services he said no check out every service before I’m not signing
Anything until you tell me a little bit more about all the other branches of the military uh and then he was convinced as well my recruiter did a lot of work on both my parents also but it was truly something that I really did want to do um many reasons
Why we we talk about it on the show quite a quite a bit whether you stay in again four years or a whole career where you retire retirement is great all the benefits even after just your four years benefits like the VA home loan come on
We’ll talk about that in a short and a long just to get that information out but a huge bonus for 90 days after you’re in whatever branch of service after your basic training you’re considered a veteran for that particular benefit the VA home loan can buy a house
With no money down no mortgage insurance who else can do that at 18 years old right so that’s a a big one all the benefits are huge Gary says I went in at 17 and wasn’t ready for college my parents didn’t want me to go in but knew
It was the best thing for me I think our parents may have known each other Gary because that was it that was also it they knew I wasn’t going to go to college nor they didn’t know I was wasn’t going to do well if I did go but
That just wasn’t on my Horizon and they wanted me with some structure right and that’s exactly what the Marine Corp did for me gave me structure so the other advice Chala is smoking Tellies here the other advice is that it is full of structure all the branches of the military of course we’re
We’re very Pro Marines here and it’s a structure of four years that will affect them for the rest of their life in a positive way and that’s again that’s just hearing from all the comments in in the shorts and in all of our videos the comments that we got some gentlemen here from
Can’t went in in 60s and 70s still refer back to boot camp days their first field operation how it changed their life and set them up for Success so what what I would tell those parents is give your son or daughter the opportunity let them experience it and let them make the
Decision prior to their first four years are up uh and see what they’re going to do um and and again they’ll have the knowledge in enlisted or officer they want to continue get their degree while they’re in the service there’s many many benefits to it that the parents need to
To open up their Horizon maybe and even with my parents maybe Gary were your parents military because because mine weren’t neither one of them so they knew very little about any of the branches of service services and specifically they knew even less about the Marines and they like what everyone else is you
Join the brain you’re going to die you’re going to combat I’m still here Doc Holiday what’s up brother good evening I’m glad you made it I have four kids my oldest is a Marine combat engineer all right 1371 combat engineer Engineers up awesome good to hear
Doc and welcome uh what you drinking doc first of all and it is Friday night 420 Network want to be a cook and a baker when you going to cook something for us or bake what can you do with the cheesecake 420 all right uh what else we got on the
Docket I wanted to be a cook and a baker at 17 oh delis here we go SDA roacho coming soon conly volunteering for di do it and doing that prior to submitting my ECP package to commission do you think that’s a good idea or should I just try
And commission again very biased here you’re asking me about di Duty 100% I recommend that for every single marine sergeant I put in for it as a Corporal like three times finally when I got promoted to Sergeant they sent me probably got tired of seeing my packages
But I highly recommend di Duty I think that was a point in my career personally that I got reg greened um and maybe that works the same for recruiting Duty or or um MSG right s SOI instructor maybe that first SDA is what got me I think to
Again to finish my career strong and continue to grow um so I highly recommend di Duty and definitely submitting before you get selected for uh recruiting unless that’s something you want to do as well um and then commission later I I absolutely do recommend that I don’t want to give you
Too much advice on doing the ECP because I didn’t do it but what from what I’ve seen again some very very good officers um did the ECP the enlisted enlisted commissioning program and turned out to be awesome officers as well so big decision brother but again me personally
If you’re asking me DI Duty 100% And then get some while you’re down there at you got to make some more Marines doc I saw you drinking pite I didn’t catch the rest of that Big O says 420 we know we know why you became a baker maybe Randy saids started a

Alone this holiday weekend concur on all Doc sorry I just butchered your your statement there but we have 30 Marines in recruiter assistants and let’s use a buddy system to reach out to fellow service me Members again holiday seasons can be great families together it’s exciting I make a great cheesecake for2
Just got my attention on that one all right we’ll have to set it up because I’m a big fan of cheesecake and a very big critic so I hope you can take some uh some honesty when I try a few different uh cheesecakes I’ll let you
Know uh again May me lose my train of thought the reaching out the buddy system is definitely uh on on every aspect so again the holidays that’s what I was talking about the holidays can be amazing but remember those who aren’t with family members and who uh it’s it’s
A little darker time for them Chala we’ll be showing your anwers to my earlier questions to my friends and even my parents at that awesome again cha let them know in in fact let them know about the channel have them get on there and see all the things that
Marines do the community that we’ve built and and the ones that they’ll get more information just by watching the the shorts M clavo steps aren’t nail here was it was at dreaded Mar for pack when you were with 33 think I met you once at a Hurst screening when you stopped by to
Check on your Marines great Channel simpy appreciate you staff AR awesome um I I I’ve been to many HST screenings yes and usually to check on some marines that that I was trying to help them in whatever route they chose so thank you brother appreciate you saying that appreciate you being here Alonso
Sergeant major you B njp me in Afghanistan what you do Alonso I didn’t njp you you got njpd yourself what was it for it was probably was it when we’re with first AR Le was probably his fault Alonso 3 three what’ you do and if
You can tell if you could say it on here keep it clean of course a PG page probably went easy on you too I’m sure let’s see it assaulted Lindsay come on Lindsay where you at I know Lindsay’s on here somewhere who won that fight anyway and
What were you all fighting about I remember the whole story assaulted Lindsay Lindsay’s on here somewhere hope he Chimes up all right that was uh that was PB minor so it was or was that first arm Pinkerton now sergeant major Pinkerton minor was was that the first one first three three deployment what
Are we all fighting about shouldn’t be fighting supposed to be fighting the enemies enemy all right pink says my oldest son did four plus one and I was talking about reupping after being out for two years very interesting point right there uh thanks for bringing that up he did four plus
One and it’s now talking about reuping after be reenlisting after being out for two years and again recruiters help me out is it that easy to just get right back in it’s not I tell you right now it’s not um clava says I know OA served with him in
One n The Walking Dead is at 29 so getting out after that’s why that decision after the first four years is so critical because it’s not easy I just changed my mind I want to go back in after two or three years happened a lot
When I was in 25 and I’ll tell you those reenlistment stories here in a second knck drag Nation says CeCe where’s a good place to start to find a Marine was stationed on the same base with overseas for 35 plus years ago hope to say thanks
To this Marine for saving my life and waiting for a medac amen and simplify to that Marine right there so a couple different places knuckle dragger um together we served is a page I joined after soon as I retired and and I found a lot of Marines
On there and it’s a it’s a social media page I I don’t I’m not on it anymore you know you fill your stuff out and you kind of you can search by names um but not everybody knows about it so so a few and i’ I posted pictures on there and it
It it’s a good safekeep for some different ideas um Reddit is another good place and you can actually search up names and people and dates post just put a post and say hey I was this I was here this unit this Duty station these years in anyone else this is what
Happened this is what happened yeah anyone else know any more information on this story um and then social media um the Marine Corps I’m assuming has locators but I don’t think you can just call and say hey can you find one of my buddies from this from this time
And date but operations would help if you remember the name of of the operation um in any kind of search on on all those B uh Pages those websites um and then hopefully they get somehow some way linked to a a YouTube channel like this or they can just join
In somehow some way they find each other you start talking to each other more about it and it just it works but good luck because that’d be a great story i’ love to hear more about that story um if you can side all right so uh what’s another post that we had a
Lot of good uh a lot of good feedback on oh the all right doc says another good one doc says my son my son wants to go from Reserve to active does that transac transaction take long transition transaction I think it does and here’s how I know uh my
Daughter’s doing the same thing so and so far it has taken a while and there’s different recruiters that you got to talk to that’s why any recruiters out there help us out on this one it’s not as easy as saying hey I’m ready to be active duty now okay obviously we talked
About this many times in my early shorts about the needs of the core are always going to come first of course they want to do whatever they can for you in any way shape or form possible but the needs of the core are going to come first for obvious reasons ever fighting
Battles so what I recommend to him Doc is to tell get on it right now at one point my daughter was even told it could take a couple years so and I’m sure that’s a a ballpark and that’s so you don’t get your hopes up and and wonder
Why it’s not happening so quickly but here’s I’ll go back to my advice on 99 Point per of the things that I talk about is you got to be aggressive but you also got to be patient so when the recruiter the prior service recruiter might be the same one
For reservist not sure when they tell you to get this documentation this paperwork get it ASAP there’s pen Dragon good to see you brother he was a training administration of reserves awesome and it was customary that if a reserve in a unit loses their job they’re automatically considered active
Duty by my Skipper until they find a job H that’s interesting and is that still today training administration of Reserve customary that if a reserve here goes Anderson ho Reserve to active you can go to the active reserve you can go the active reserve route but
It depends on your MOS and there you have it the needs of the Marine Corps so again it well I didn’t even talk about your MOS if your MOS happens to be closed for active duty you ain’t getting in you might need to change your MOS and that could be again
Something that that crter tells you when you become an AR Marine active reserve you will do a lot of public events like color guards and funerals make sure your Blues are good to go which to me sounds great and I always wondered and obviously I found out after years but
Who are those marines that get to do the color guards for the Super Bowl and boxing matches and and the the parades and downtown New York and all all those things who are those guys I want to do that and that’s who it is primarily is uh AR
Marines there you go Mark says find the right recruiter so you got to figure some of these recruiters again their main mission their number one goal is to make mission of however many applicants they got to get a month and that’s their Prime C candidates are those high school
Students high school graduates so they’re finding those that’s their number one um primary job so it’s finding the right recruiter just like he said Char says I am that sfmf hoodie in the back cold weather is upon us kind of depend on where you’re from yes Char and that is
New is one of our newest items right now let us know what you think if you’re interested you know how to get it um in the description on our page click the link FM uh sfmf merch couple different items on there and speaking of which some people have
Been asking one of the new shirts coming out when is more merch coming out um our goal and our idea is it’s we got a lot going on with this Channel and continuing to build our our community but we do want to add merch to
It uh we want to get what all of y’all think is good for the good for the whole okay it uh some good gifts I know Christmas has pass but there’s still retirements and birthdays and all other uh celebrations coming up um so keep that in
Mind um but that is new the hoodie is a new item that uh I want one can I get one hopefully we can uh we can continue to make those maybe different colors let us know what you think about it and the color would you like different colors do you like
The marine shirt how about the a shirt one of my favorites and it is Friday right so we’re wearing red remember everyone deployed that seemed to have died out for some I remember a few years ago the the red was huge so it was advertised everywhere remember everyone deployed it seemed to
Um you don’t hear about it or see as much of it anymore um but we still do we remember everyone deployed are there Marines deployed right now always 365 days a year there’s Marine Marines deployed somewhere so yes please remember them every day right just like Veterans Day should be every day
Remember the ones deployed especially on holidays times like this you see their not going to be with their families if you do know someone specifically let us know we can send a package remember the care packages again those have kind of died out a little bit because it’s not
As big of a group deployed anymore knuckle drag Nation says gotta eat dinner with the family glad I caught your live feed take care thanks for the info and have a Happy New Year if I don’t talk to you before knuckle drag Nation thank you brother back at you
Enjoy dinner Happy New Year to you and your family here’s do an awesome 2024 we’ll see you soon though I’m sure Mark says what is the number one mos in today’s core 0300 of course what’s your question mark what who’s the most in it or the hardest one to get the
Number one mos in today’s core I I don’t think it’s ever been anything other than 03 just the biggest one that in in all the 03 xxs that go along with the 0300s the Infantry so number one mos in today’s core probably depends on who you ask what
Their MOS is is what they’re going to say we already know combat engineers were the backbone of the core uh don’t forget about combat camera but what is the number one MOS you look that up online I guarantee you the first thing that’ll come up is
0311 or just 0300 and all the other on that go along with the 03s different ASVAB scores right takes certain scores to get specific MOS some are rank related right so and and some have the the occupational specialty specialty that take again follow on schools and follow on um rank
Requirements so number one MOS depends on what you do and I remember I had an an officer that I worked with years ago and he used to always say you don’t join the Marine Corps for a specific job you join the Marine Corp to be a marine your job is secondary right we
Talk about that we know that’s the Marine’s first primary job is Rifleman um little controversy over that some people say just because you qualify once a year doesn’t make you a Rifleman but it kind of does as long as you’re qualified and you don’t go Unk so yes
You are a Rifleman and it is required every single year now some Moss’s only fire once a year and then you have the Infantry who fire all year long so the level of Rifleman may be different but yes every Marine is a Rifleman first I think I told this
Scenario maybe a short or in the comments a a supporting unit to our flank at one point in Desert Storm crossing the line of the um miles and miles of minefields our supporting unit was a marine cor band a unit band I don’t remember where they were from but in
Their their primary Ms was band members yet here they are in Desert Storm without their instruments they had their number one instrument and that was the rifles and and everything that came with that unit so yes is every Marine a raffan yes again the level and the proficiency
They at least qualify once a year because we are all know you cannot qualify with a raffle you cannot be a marine if you cannot pass a swim qual you cannot be a marine there’s certain criteria that that we just don’t have can’t make an exess setion
For and being a Rifleman is one of them simplify my friends all right um anything else any other questions comments anything good for the whole appreciate y’all being here with us sharing another Friday night with us we want to get on the schedule for the live so you know and you’re not
Surprised and you can help get the word out so more people can join us um we haven’t haven’t nailed it down yet again life happens you know everyone gets busy Raymond gr says Sor mjor always fun to watch your channel seify Raymond appreciate you being here thank

Rather do it on a Friday night or a Saturday night and then TimeWise because we have all these different time zones so we’re kind of trying to find one that is U beneficial to all so let us know what you think help us decide what would
Be best Friday or Saturday Big O say everything you listed on the merch list are good but you need hats H good one all right ball caps um and and what about uh beanies what do you think about beanies in it’s what he in oh yeah do it good
Cold enough in Yuma for a beanie you need hats because you’re like a mile away from the sun in Arizona backpacks says 420 all right so backpacks hats Sombrero for Big O um beanies for the colder places okay all stuff yes thank you very much because we do want to increase the merch
Just to help get our community out there and together um CH says how do quals for the age how do quals for for with age in the core huh quals work how do qu quals work with age quals as in qualifications For swim qual rifle qual AIDS doesn’t matter you’re a marine um qu for age in the core shooting so if you’re talking about rifle range age doesn’t matter nor rank except for the rifle your last the last time you have to qualify with the rifle is um once you reach Gunners AR you
Don’t have to qualify with the rifle anymore now you’re qualifying with the pistol which is kind of cool you still carry a rifle when you go into combat even as a major I would carry a rifle and my nightm but now your to weapon table of organizational weapon is
A pistol um but age doesn’t matter child if you’re asking swim qual it doesn’t matter dep depends on what you qualed as how many years till you need to re-qualify what level you made it to Chuck says need to let everyone know about your quiz earlier quiz that’s right so Chuck took
The quiz I won’t tell everybody how you did Chuck um but we do have a quiz out there we are gonna we’re going to play it on the show live or we gonna no we’re not going to do it live here with you but we’re gonna have it go live after the

Community alive again don’t forget Buddy checks New Year’s is right around the corner be safe Carlos says need to dismiss myself the Comon on wife is calm me to dinner don’t want to get njpd happy New Year happy New Year Carlos to the whole Diaz family thanks again for
Being here thanks for your support be safe be aggressive and get after it Christopher says I’m sure there are age waivers for OCS but how old is too old good question I think the the enlistment and this is is it 32 to enlist yeah 31 to 32 I
Remember when I was a drill instructor I had a recruit who was on an age waiver and he was 32 years old and I loved thrashing him and calling him pops because I was like 25 years old when I was a drill instructor that was a lot of
Fun but I think it’s 30 1 rings a bell Christopher again anyone else on here know the age limit I think ours is the youngest compared to the other services but I think they’re it looks like you’re young and in shape Chris go for it I think you got
It but you’re at them positive there’s and and I’ve said this for years my whole career there’s a waiver for everything there’s always a way be aggressive be patient and it can happen um okay so the quiz that you’ll see right after this is our production team
Has been working hard on that for the last couple days non-stop it is very very cool I loved it she I had a little input on it but the questions are good legit again some softballs in there just to keep you motivated and some you got
To think about and at the end of the day though the quiz just brings more awareness more knowledge again for all of us brings back memories right for a lot of us and it’s just some pure pure motivation um so let’s see how you do
We’ll put it on right after this big b remember we talked about U your son if you’re on Big B did he join us he’s on Big B your son how is he doing what’s he got let’s hear let’s hear something how he did and there he is Big B Christopher
Era it used to be 20 oh he’s asking answering Christopher’s used to be 28 and that was 30 years ago uh again I don’t know why 31 rings a bell to me the enlistment age for Marines um maybe someone could could GTS that right now Google that stuff Raymond
Graham says my son graduate o graduated OCS in November there’s one candidate who was 37 he got a waiver I’m telling you there’s a waiver for everything you got to be aggressive with it persistent okay there’s ways uh I w’t say ways around it but there are waivers for all
The right reasons he graduated OCS so he obviously did well at 37 years old should he have been turned away no way Victor Garcia is waiting on a second approval for a hand tattoo my first waiver was disapproved tell tough tough one there um tattoos God it’s it’s so
Back and forth um Joe smelli says Hunter b b got a waer yes yes he did U but the tattoo policy again we talked about it a little bit know the waiver before you go in um or before you try before you get a tattoo um but there is a waiver be
Persistent with that w waiver Big B says he’s doing great but I got to say the core is not the same Amen to that Big B I tell you the core itself you can tell from the comments and and all of our our subscribers now and and everyone you can hear the
Difference um in their comments you can you can hear it in their voices if you will when they’re saying we used to do it like this I’m an old school it’s not that way anymore uh so on and so forth but I got to believe that the Marine
Spirit is the same the Marines are still hard as ever uh Big B says he got recruiter assistance so he’s home for another month awesome what a great time perfect over the holidays enjoy him make sure he’s PT make sure he’s getting ready for the next his next Duty station um but
Keep working him bigo says age 28 up to 31 with a waiver hm interesting so 32 there’s no waivers there just may be so the age is 28 right now if you go to en list and a waiver up to 31 I’m sure there’s requirements like a first class PFT and
Don’t quote me on any of these but I got to imagine if you’re over the age limit they’re going to require you to do a little more and the pft’s got to be probably the first one that they that they want to make sure ensure that you’re um able to
Do Big B Big B says I understand the world is different and it doesn’t have to be the same but recruits shouldn’t get ACOG or washing machines I gotta agree with you on that one ACOG for those you that don’t know that’s the uh the laser site for your rifle qual right
It makes it a whole lot easier to to qualify and see your target um Iron Sights it’s what is what US old schoolers used and qualed with I still like the iron sights and washing machines I agree with that that was a a great way to Sundays were great doing your own
Laundry washing by hand learning how to do it by hand it was a pain in the butt but it was also a time a little bit away from the Drone struct you kind of talk with your buddies and it was a was a good Sunday morning I used to like that
I agree with you on the washing machines also here him says a waiver for everything there was no wav for attending a special education program again I I think there’s possibly a waiver for everything 420 says Generations may change but we are all Marines 1975 I ra CER fire brother I I
Agree again when it comes down to it the the Marine spirit will never die bigo says dependent on the situation time and place anything can be waved I I believe the same I remember at times when we were building up for a Desert Storm I think we took some felons and there was
A something they could they could uh we were making happen just to build up the forces Joe melli says the fear of God is missing in boot camp amen fear of God is missing everywhere if you ask me and in the schools in in businesses I
I hear you schuck tellan I agree 100% chalice say how different is boot camp now from maybe years before anyone anyone have anything they can add so here’s something interesting um from being a recruit then being a drone instructor and then my daughter going to boot camp decades later here’s something that that
I always found interesting the SOP for recruit training hasn’t really changed that much and hear me out so you were never allowed allowed to beat the hell out of recruits physically you were never allowed to call them foul language names and the SOP has been like that I want to
Believe for decades it’s the tolerance of the people that maybe um that has changed right everyone said I went to buan beat the hell out of me every single night not true uh was there some was the physical um Corrections and all that different back in the day that was
Society in general absolutely but you hear special Marines getting out the last couple years well I’m old school I I graduated in 2019 and they beat the hell out of me in the whiskey Locker every single night again I was a drill instructor decades ago and I wasn’t beating the
Hell out of anybody you you can’t it’s not some of them need it some of them deserve it um well would deserve it but it it just doesn’t happen Okay that you saw my Shir about the the senior drone instructor went to high five me and and
I thought it was the greatest thing in the world and he punched me in the stomach that’s about the only beating I got and that wasn’t he wasn’t trying to MIM or injure me or kill me right like the stories you hear about some Marines they everyone wants their boot camp to
Be the hardest just boot camp alone the training in boot camp is hard okay if you do everything to the best of your ability and and you graduate as a guide or squad leader Honor Graduate then then it was hard for you because you put everything you had into it so has it
Changed from years 100% I think it has changed and that’s because Society changed today’s youth has changed okay kids are softer now nowadays you gotta I mean prove me wrong but those select few that do choose the Marine Corp to take the hardest path those guys haven’t
Changed Vick says trying to go in with honrad mind any tips to make honrad yes everything I just talked about right now brother take that quiz for one right soon as we post it knowledge here’s how you become guide 110% every anything and everything and
It’s going to be hard you’re going to be sleep deprived and food deprived but but how you handle that how you manage that and how you lead everyone else in your platoon is going to be noticed okay so if you’re if you go in already being able to run push and thrash yourself
Physically fit you’re already ahead of the game knowledge wise as much knowledge as you can learn before going we talked about it general orders rank structure history dates okay things the more you know knowledge wise the easier the first aid all those things going knowing before you going in that’s more
Time you can spend on anything you have trouble with got to be a first class pfer you got to fire expert on the rifle Reigns number one swim call not number one but a first class in swim call all those things will help you get to guide
And then be a leader Big B says I guess I guess it’s not that it’s softer because they had to go through The Crucible and all but you can graduate boot camp with four Pull-Ups I went to boot camp doing 20 amen Big B I tell you
Um even as a drill instructor I at the end you had kids that graduated um who failed like the first PFT the initial PFT and then missed did a partial for the final PFT so those Do Slip through the cracks should our standards have lowered nope not at all
And hopefully those marines that barely graduate boot camp uh the leadership in the fleet will take care of them and finish what the joural ster started but but had no control over finishing the product and look here folks the chicken has a risen risen s major seify glad you
Can join us chicken and I think that’s a picture of you on your icon as well glad to have you brother how’s everything roll a mile in my wheels says simpi seeri brother welcome we are finishing up this evening East wind farms eagle globman anchor era I like
Using those emojis when I when I comment when I reply to comments motivated we need if anyone has any kind of influence on iPhone we need a eagle globin anchor uh emoji and a bulldog put them both on there Owen Kenny says going to recruit training May 28th any tips also
Love the content yes Owen one take the quiz once we post it after this live and then continue to watch the channel there’s nothing but information on there knowledge by Future current and past marines that just is a community of knowledge and motivation so check the channel like And subscribe it all share
With your friends anyone else that’s getting ready to join Jo you can learn everything you need to know except the mindset is going to be on you and how you go into boot camp how prepared you are is on you uh chicken says don’t go looking to make autograd
Go looking to be the best recruit you can be and honor grad will come to you very good point chicken I remember being told years ago don’t try to game the game you do everything you’re supposed to do to the best of your ability it will come to
You uh so go for it get after it Big B says Victor Garcia my son wasn’t honor grad or guide but his drone instructor liked him and respected him because he gave all and most of his platoon didn’t there you go so it as much as everyone
Wants to be U the guy one there’s only one per platoon six per company so limited that doesn’t mean you’re not the best recruit or newly graduated Marine okay give everything you got is all anybody wants from you Chuck says smoker a legal boxing match between two marines
Who need to settle the score so Chuck in boot camp no longer do they do smokers and in fact when I was a drill instructor we went from a full siiz boxing ring down to the boxing ring was just big enough for two recruits to get
In there you couldn’t even there was no room to swing because it was just hitting skills so I was in tight just to learn how to properly throw a punch and and absorb a punch so smokers were out have been out for decades do smoker happens smokers happen
In the fleet maybe in the Infantry depends on what unit you’re in um it’s not something organized and it’s definitely not something on a training schedule but do scores get settled the old school way I got to believe they still do right my my last um half of my
Career was in the infantry combat deployments and if something needed to be settled it got settled old school style all for the right reasons chicken says Owen the star major will give you the knowledge but you got to bring the heart love it chicken awesome couldn’t have said it better
Myself we’ll give you the knowledge right we’ll teach you everything you need to do but only you can control your heart when you go in and go for it never quit or give up you’re going to hear drones start to say that the the first day and throughout they cannot help you
And train you to become a United States Marine if you’re not willing to give your very best and that’s all they ask of you smelli says lift heavy weights and run 10 miles a week absolutely again lift heavyweights do a lot of cardio um you don’t actually run all that far in
Boot camp strangely enough and as a drone instructor you can quickly get out of shape because the the farther you run three miles twice and that’s it everything else is running to him from the PT field you’re running on you’re doing a lot of cardio a lot of exercises
But you actually don’t get to run more than three miles we had a motor run when I was a joural stuct it was 4 point something maybe five miles but that only happened once so again the cardio you have to get before you get to boot camp
Now again as a recruit are you going to get thrashed hopefully every single day training schedule does dictate though and you don’t always have time and you’re going to owe the Drone stroker I guarantee you he may not have time to thrash you when you deserve it
Right away but being phys I can’t say it enough being physically fit before you go is a huge benefit you don’t want to be that guy you don’t want to be a run drop you definitely don’t want to fail the IST the initial strength test and get dropped back before you even start
So being physically fit I can’t stress it enough the and swimming swimming too um some of you are were born swimmers and probably haven’t even thought twice about it because the bait just to qualify for swim is pretty easy now I grew up in the water so so don’t take my
Word for it but you do have to know Strokes you have to survive in the water right if you’re a rock aqua rock we call them get in the water learn how to float be confident in the water and that will get you qualified I I’ve seen could have be
Dropped back I don’t know if any of that recruits that failed got kicked out because they couldn’t pass swim call so just be confident comfortable and confident in the water those two the Knowledge Test is another graduation requirement again didn’t see any recruits fail and get kicked out I did
See some get dropped back in training which is extends your stay at the Glorious MCRD so the more knowledge you know and the biggest ones I remember just because there’s a lot of them is is enlisted and officer ranks know what 05 is or an E7 be able to describe that rank um
General orders know all 11 be able to spit them all out by the back your hand know them like the back of your hand and history and tradition Smedley Butler Dan Daly chesty poer know the common ones dates of the common battles World War II
Iima uh Korea all those all those uh big ones if you will know as many as you can um the first Marine the common on the Marine Corps the first Common on the Marine Corps Marine Corps birth date and place I don’t want to give you too many
Because that’s some of those are on the quiz that you’re getting ready to take right after we’re done with this knowledge with his life Owen says thanks guys this is my dream and I will achieve this to simplify Owen again you got this no doubt in our minds you got it it’s
All you okay with a little help and motivation from all of us here ER Victor says do you still remember your first time at s SOI no I don’t Victor and I’m gonna age myself but they didn’t even have MCT when I first joined so I remember my
First time being at SOI train raining with 25 and humping all the hills and mountains um and then for some classes there but MCT even came later after I went through so do you remember your first time at s SOI and what year was it Victor let us
Know chicken says we had a guy recycle for the third time into my baton because he because of swim PA you don’t want to be at MCRD any longer than you need to amen chicken and where’s gold man how come he’s not on here those you remember Goldman he was my
12mon recruit L Corporal finally graduated with us he was a lance corporal time and grade time and service time and grade he was at MCRD for almost 12 months 11 plus months pink says get used to getting up at 04 and hit the rack at 2000 before you go
In trust me it Els uh I believe that too that was a huge adjustment for me I was getting up early that early I obviously did it because you have no choice because you’re getting up but the mornings I hated the mornings so much it again made
Me question for the longest time what am I doing here um so I think that would help going to bed early and getting up early because even in in boot camp you go to lights out at 2100 so it’s not even late but that would help get your sleep
Adjusted prior to going Char says head now s major been amazing live glad to have join wa on the next as always and your upcoming quiz simplify Chala check the page the quiz will be out here shortly and you better do well chicken SOI was 1996 for me era right you’re
Still a young chicken awesome um them Hills I gotta tell you that whole area of s SOI are some mountains Chuck says no SOI in 76 infantry training second phase of boot camp so we still do that Chuck um probably not as intense as it was in
76 but there still is field training in boot camp land naav night land naav shoots weapon shoots um staying in the field it’s pretty I like the second phase of boot camp was was pretty awesome Stephen Bates what do you think about the Osprey excuse me um I like the Osprey I love
It I like the speed of it um I like the Comfort it’s big I know there’s been a lot of problems with it we had some we even had some in combat stuff sliding out the the back the Human air um I know there’s been some mechanical errors but I got to tell
You I’m I’m a big fan fan of The Offspring I like its capabilities I’m not an air guy but being a passenger I liked it a lot like helicopters too I like the Frog 53 is my favorite I’m as big and bulky as those are you can fit more
Marines and more gear I’d like that um but but I like those I like those flights Mark says 1991 gr of SOI after 10 years in the court was combat engineer and Embassy Marine awesome great career Mark that’s that’s awesome one of course combat engineer back more of the core our Engineers
Up Josh melli CX ch46 only way to fly I like the 46s also tell I love the helicopter rides in 25 we are the the Helicopter Company um so we every single field operation every single combat Mission we flew everywhere um pretty sketchy and pretty hairy at
Times right the the hydraulic fluid um Only You air guys probably know this or Engineers I mean uh or infantry if the helicopter if the 53 is leaking hydraulic fluid you’re good to go if it’s not not leaking that’s bad because it means it’s empty you need some more hydraulic
Fluid Bruce I enjoyed the huis I haven’t been in Hues as much I have been in a couple with the command bird and all that I like those what I really want to write in is a cobra how awesome would that be I never had they had them
Support us and save our butts plenty of times um Big O you know about that in Afghanistan uh I like the air side of the house again I had a small stint in Hawaii with the Marine Corp air station uh we had a C20 super golf um four Airstream Airstream so it
Was a VIP airplane 12 seater or 22 seater depend on how it was configured but that was fun FR fun flying around the country and that supporting the mission another the try to kick me off when I brought my surfboard so as the star major of marine
Cor Air Station at the time um I was in transition from California to Hawaii and that aircraft would make that trip quite often taking the the mar 4 pack CG wherever he needed to go and when the the aircraft was coming back empty I’d bring some stuff with me to Hawaii I was
New checking in one time time I did bring a surfboard on the Gulf Stream and it barely F fit down the aisle but it did fit it’s hard getting it in the compartment door the the luggage compartment was way too small but it was down the aisle the general wasn’t on
Board but his staff was to include his Aid and she was pissed who the hell brought a surfboard on the CG’s airplane um and I it right here s SE the the air station s major sergeant major and the CG is not on board he authorized it interesting flight from California to
Hawai North Island to Hawaii that particular moment uh but it made it there safe and sound but airwing love you guys yes even your flight suits I even wore a flight suit when I was with my cats for a little bit I don’t tell nobody that very comfortable KB was the best Joe
Schmuckatelli love Kano Bay perfect weather the you can see the waves U from my office when I was at the air station the short time I was over there so I look see if there’s wavs and then I had to uh had to take a detour why is a three-year tour yes it
Is or it could be longer depending needs of the Court waivers do you have any tips for a field day Stephen bat says do you have any tips for field day field day is in cleaning your room field day or field day as in what we all think field day is
Softball games and drinking beer and barbecues cleaning the room field day get after it clean like you could eat off the floor I’m picking my MOS preference tomorrow trying to go air crew and even know how to get a preference of air crew if I get that
MOS uh I don’t know maybe some some of our recruiters could I’m picking my MOS preference tomorrow trying to go air crew um I don’t I think the specific air crew might come later after you get your primary MOS did you consider Chief one Victor is
Asking did did I ever consider Chief one officer rank I did I did along with everyone else um and I had Marines ask me throughout the career you ever think about you make a good Chief War officer I me here’s my reasoning for not I I didn’t I wanted to have the flexibility
To go to many different Moss’s and Division and group and base and I wanted it I didn’t want to be um pigeon ho hold I don’t know if that’s the right word for it but I want to have the freedom primarily why I wanted to be a first sergeant and then sergeant major
So I could go to anyos and that’s how I was able to spend time in the airwing many years in the Infantry on the base side of the house I was as a first sergeant I was a motor te maintenance company didn’t know anything about and and how they make the bolts to
Build that thing so I was able to experience all those different units is what I really loved about it I didn’t I didn’t like being a one as much as I loved combat engineers and the variety of things they did I did want to be again have the freedom to move to
Different Moss’s throughout my entire career um any other questions comments a lot of boot camp questions I like those especially those motivators are getting ready to go um awesome keep keep after it again I didn’t know much about any of the services prior to going once I did finally once
My parents finally did sign I was I knew I was enlisting and going that’s when I kind of started looking into the to the Marine Corps found out what the difference was between the Marines and all the other services still going in kind of blind with today’s technology there’s no
Excuse um how anything should surprise you in boot camp again it’s just going to be your n your mindset of how you take it um and how you deal with it and how you deal with the day-to-day constantly being yelled at like God man why is everybody so
Angry at me I didn’t do anything wrong but that’s the mindset that you have to just know that there’s a purpose behind it right there’s a reason you sit Indian style on the floor for hours at a time it’s not just to Haze you it’s so you
Can get used to the sitting position so you can qualify with your rifle right there’s a reason you do every single thing you do in boot camp is for a reason it feels like hazing and it feels like the journal instructor is just trying to wear you out for no particular
Reason but there is a purpose and it’s a combat related life-saving Survivor reason that they’re teaching you and they want you to do the very best that’s it and they want you to give your very best as every newly Pro graduated Marine doing running a first class PFT 20 plus pull-ups running three
Miles and under 18 minut no but by the time you graduate you’re going to be doing all those things to the best of your ability and that’s all they want from you that’s all in the fleet that’s all leaders want from you right tell used to tell the machine Gunners look I
Understand you’re at 0311 but you want to be a machine gunner will train you to be the best machine gunner in the world if you have the right heart and you got the right mindset that’s what it takes uh great questions though man again time flies when you’re having fun
