God that your will is done in the name of Jesus and we pray oh God to be uh in the center of your will we pray for the sick and the shut tins tonight oh God some names I know to call and others I do not but God you know everyone and we
Ask oh God that you would heal them and raise them up in the name of Jesus God touch my mother in the name of Lord You’re a good god true God and the Everlasting King and father tonight we have no complaints all we can tell you is thank you because you’ve been better
To all of us than we deserve so Lord help us tonight and Lord strengthen us and Lord Heal in our midst in the name of Jesus God give us power to follow you and to serve you as never before anoint War us oh God not to just
Be good time Christians and fair weather Believers but oh God believers who can thrive in the rain in the name of Jesus to uh hold up to endure persecutions in the name of Jesus oh God strengthen us where we weaken build us where we’re torn down in Jesus holy name

Have to go after him as never before lay aside every weight and the sin that does so easily beset us anything that entangles us we got to let that go and just pursue the Lord pursue the Lord pursue the Lord and and in this church we believe in the divine div one amen
There’s no room in our church for a Divine two or Divine three or divine nine one God one Faith one baptism Paul says one God and Father of all who is above all through all and in you all and one Lord Jesus Christ amen and I think that as we
Strive to keep our church services pure and and not get confused about who we’re worshiping and not mix you know I I wouldn’t mix mythology uh with my Christianity for nothing in the world you know you know you know what the word mythology a myth is a
Lie why mix lie with truth what kind of sense does that make amen amen we said Jesus says I am the way the truth and the life and uh and and he’s a keeper and uh in in 2024 Satan’s going to do everything he can to infiltrate us
And to try to try to fighten you and uh you got to make sure that your commitment is stronger than than you fear and U uh if you do that God will do the rest and and you know um it’s a matter of putting God God first that’s
Really what it is just a matter of putting him first putting him first letting the Lord control your career letting the Lord control your family letting the Lord control your your actions just putting God first amen uh we used to uh I still do some do uh when we
Would buy shoes even in the shoe store put the shoe on mother and see if that shoe would Shout essentially cut cut a little step in the store to see how the shoe would do not the shoe won’t shop we leave the shoe in the
Store I like it but you can’t praise God in it we need something you know because everything you do ought to be weighed against your relationship with the Lord all right they going to give you that job but that job going to take you away from church you’re making all the money
But you’ve lost your soul you lost your fire that makes no sense amen that makes no sense the Bible says what does a man gain if he what ises what do profit a man if the man gain the whole world and lose his soul that is lose
Himself you you become someone else you got a big paycheck nice Mercedes in the driveway but you’re not the person that God would have you to be because you lost it you uh you got out of of fellowship with the Lord the enemy lured
You he knows how to lure you I did a teaching one time on the devil’s carrots see he he know how to lure you he’ll lure you out of Christ he’ll lure you out of your marriage he lure you out of your church amen you don’t even know in that Apple
He’s waving before there’s a hook in it you don’t see it and then when you bite once you hook many times you can’t do anything about it and it doesn’t take but one move like that to throw you so far off that it may
Take you 20 years if ever to get back on by that time what God has for you is long gone cuz in the Kingdom opportunities come and they go doors open and they close nothing is forever people say what God has for you is for you that’s true if you do right
I know him in the Bible because what the Bible said about Judas it says his bishopi his bishopi his position let another take it was his till he squandered it that Birthright belonged to Esau it was his it was his it was his until he squandered see
The problem for me uh uh sister K is many times we get our theology from songs what God has for me is for me that’s a song right that’s not NE that’s not scripture matter of fact that’s necessarily not scripture every person in Hell God had Heaven

Profitable to me for Ministry and after you bring Mark to cookus and to cuses how that is pronounced have I sent to Ephesus the cloak that I left at Taurus with carpus when thou comest bring with thee and the books especially the parchments I’ll stop right here for
Now for your consideration tonight I want you to look at um verse 10 and verse 11 um verse 10 says for Deus has forsaken me having loved this present world and departed into thessalonica Deus uh left Deus left the church demons is gone um contrast that with verse 11 says take Mark second
Clause and bring him with thee for he is profitable to me for the ministry two men here are mentioned and he mentioned others but I two the two represent uh extremes tonight um one is Deus Deus is a um Demus has forsaken me Deus left Demus departed but make sure you take
Mark because Mark is is profitable unto me for the ministry Deus is a deserter Mark is an asset um this was the last thing um in Paul’s writings that he wrote about um these these men because second Timothy is Paul’s last letter and he was executed
Shortly after he wrote that letter so he writes about Deus and he says that Deus is a deserter and he says but Mark is an asset Mark is uh profitable um in some ways um he gave um an epith if you will uh an epith is the last thing that is
Said about a person um and the epith is uh whether it’s good or bad it’s the last thing that we read about an individual the last thing that we read about these two men at least in the Pauline writings is that one uh was a deserter and the other was uh
Became an asset so I want to talk about dueling epets dueling epets and um my question to you tonight is which one will apply to you will apply to me in this um year of serving the lord only I’m want to do something that I normally don’t do
Um by the end of De December of 2024 will you be a Demus or a mark a whole lot happens in a year amen uh will you still be on fire or will you need to uh be revived will you still be saved should the Lord of course let us
Live um what will we be able to say about you well people say of you you did run well as Paul said in Galatians 5 and7 you did run well who did hinder you amen so I want to talk about these men tonight and um and I’m saying this
Because I know that in 2024 Satan is going to really come against the chuth church it’s going to really come against the church I’m I I didn’t have them to ceue it tonight but uh uh recently in in the Grammys two perverts you know they had to be black you know black folk
Something wrong with us y’all see that to me we’re the last one to catch on to things and then when we do we overdo it so two black men dressed in drag homosexuals Devils little nzx and this other guy Billy Porter somebody and they’re standing there posing and
Holding the Bible I said Lord look at this put put holding the B making fun of the word of the lord well as as 2024 uh as we move into the year and as we near the coming of Our Lord more and more pressure will be set to Bear uh more and
More things like that will be done to try to embarrass the Christian to silence the Christian and to break the Christian’s spirit you better not let the devil break your spirit I’m determined that he’s not breaking mine not when it comes to the things of God Amen so let’s look at this tonight
Father preach me tonight as in Jesus name amen uh second uh Timothy chapter number four uh one would think that after Paul’s s ing eloquent valorous or valedictory uh sermon on faith that this chapter wouldn’t have Um too much more to offer I mean how do you follow up on this verse six for I am ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand I have fought a good fight I have finished my course I have kept the faith
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous judge shall give me at that day and not to me only but unto all them that love is appearing I mean what can come after that that’s something isn’t it and uh
And then even if you go back and look at what Paul said even in the opening of this particular chapter the warnings that he gives he gives Timothy a military uh charge he says I charge thee and the word charge here in the Greek this is a military term it means to
Exort earnestly I charge thee therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ who shall judge the quick and the dead at the appearing of his kingdom what what are you charging Timothy to do he says preach the word preach the word uh we need I think we might need to
Read that one more now and go back to the seminaries and the cemeteries and uh teach uh read this passage to to to preachers because many preachers are preaching everything now except the word that’s right um it says preach the word and and then uh uh maintain preachers a state of Readiness be
Instant a nobody got to Prime you be instant be ready in season and out of season anybody can preach in season anybody can preach when the wind is blowing uh when the wind is at your back and everybody’s saying amen and everybody like you and you’re preaching
A sermon that um that’s one of those can’t miss sermons all you got to do a can’t miss sermon is just tell people what they want to hear anybody can preach like that but what about when the season shifts and the wind blows against you and God does

Treasures in earn vessels so you have to deal with uh life as it is and uh reality is a good term but I don’t want to give the idea that rejoicing and shouting and dancing is not reality as well because it is it’s real when I
Dance before the Lord oh it just does something in my soul It prepares mea for what I have to contend with Paul shows us that he has to contend with the same basic needs as every one else he uh had human needs he had needs a need for for friends everybody needs
Somebody had a need for comfort and he had a need for Spiritual and intellectual stimul ation he needed it after all that I’m ready to be offered the time of my departure is hand henceforth that is laid up for me after all that I still have
Needs I tell you what happened Rocky in the church house band had gone home the Bic was turned off the lights had been turned on no longer streaming you left alone with yourself and the first thing he says to Timothy he says and you see it in the text do thy

That’s what that’s when you got say when the truth just slapped you in your face bam you came face to face with how dirty you actually are and how you needed to be saved and you were on your way to hell that’s what got you out

Prison and and uh you know all the chains fell off and the people were praying and where he went was to Mary’s house whose uh uh she was Mark’s mother you see that uh let’s look at verse uh 25 and Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem when they had fulfill their
Journey and look at this and took with them John whose surname was Mark so now uh Mark uh is traveling uh with Paul and Barnabas Chapter 13 Verse number five says and when they saw salus they preached when they were at salus they preached the word of
God in the synagogue of the Jews and they also and they had also John to their minister so this is John Mark he is now their agitant he ministers to Paul and Barnabas as they travel and preach the word of God but the fire got hot trouble broke out verse number
13 now when Paul Paul and His companion loose from pthos they came to perga in pilia and John John Mark departing from them returned to Jerusalem Mark I’m going home this ain’t what I thought it was you know what he wasn’t ready and he uh departed from them you see
That now let’s look at chapter number uh 15 did we let’s see uh we read uh 13 and 13 now let’s look at chapter number 15 let’s see what the Bible has to say about that now in verse number 36 uh the they’re getting ready to do their second missionary journey after some
Days some days after Paul said unto Babas uh let us go again and visit uh where visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord and see how they do and Barnabas determined to take with them John whose surname was Mark but Paul
Thought not good you see that to take him with them who departed from them from pamilia and went not with them to the work Paul says no we’re not taking him he’s a deserter he left he left when we needed him he went back to Jerusalem
We can’t take him and the contention was so sharp between them that they departed aund one from the other and so Barnabas took Mark and sailed to Cyprus and at that time Paul verse 40 chose Silas and the rest is history but thank God that the Lord looked on
Mark and God did not throw Mark away God wanted to and and this is good news God wanted Mark to grow up and God knew just who to use to help mature Mark to make Mark profitable see all of us the one one of the good thing about serving the lord is
He’s merciful and you can can if you want to you can make a comeback you you can you can rise again uh if you will guess who helped uh Mark of all people the very man who experienced it himself the very man who told Jesus before I betray you I’ll Die For
You Jesus looked at him and said before the craw three times you going to deny me before the crws you going to deny me three times Peter he denied Jesus said I don’t know him he called curses down upon himself if he actually knew it but Mark’s gospel tells us that when
Jesus rose again Jesus said tell the disciples and Peter he done denied me three times he’s out of the Ark of Safety he’s gone his way but tell the disciples and Peter meet me in Galilee aren’t you glad saints that God loves Peters aren’t you glad that God loves people uh
Who messed up and will and and you got to know how as a Believer to be a repairer I’m talking about somebody want to do right now you want to repair them don’t hold it over their head repair because if something happened to you and and it happens to us all you

Dropped him because he wasn’t profitable I dropped him because he dropped out Paul didn’t change his standards Mark came up so you got to come up to where God can use you Paul didn’t lower the bar Mark came up where mark would be able to fight and endure
Hardness as a good soldier how did you know how do you know he came up if he was willing to go to prison to see Paul with the way people treated prisoners that means you get ready to own his own persecution that means you’re ready for
It now that means you’re ready to be what the uh the Bible says uh baptized you ready to identify with Paul says go and get him so Paul expresses I’ve showed you his uh need for human friends and also he has a need for for comfort and my time is swiftly going he
