Book haul baby hello my friends welcome to leap day it is in fact leap day as I’m talking to you right now I don’t know when you’re going to be listening to me but I’m doing today a leap day book haul video all these books I didn’t get on
Leap day I’m just making a video on leap day this this is my February 2024 book haul and this month I picked up some books and I’ve shown you had a lot of pre-orders show up this month and I put up a lot of videos showing you
About them books done some book reviews talked about some of them books but there are a lot of other books that I’ve gotten I don’t know a lot 810 something like that we’ll see keep track yourself if you’re interested there’s other books I got throughout the course of the month
That I would also like to show you not necessarily fancy limited editions or signs or things like that but just other books I picked up either a to read or two to add to the collection or Z just for other reasons in which nothing comes
To mind right now and I also got a special guest who’s going to show you one that he’s picked up and a little bit of a story about that one as well but to get started this book came in the mailbox from Amazon ever hear it well there’s an
Author by the name of Tyler Jones who wrote a book called Midas that I read I got the Earthling Publications Halloween edition signed limited edition of that book and I liked it a lot glad to have it in the collection but I also follow the Tyler Jones on the Facebook and Tyler Jones
Talked about this Novella I guess it would be a Nolla that was being released suddenly called Strider one that I have not read but the artwork on the front looks so good and he posted a link on the Facebook Tyler Jones check him out if you’re interested
In the Facebook or whatever else go check him out and the book was $4.99 on Amazon so I had to jump jump in and buy it it’s a trade soft cover and it is a Nolla but the price was right and I really liked Tyler Jones Midas so
He’s an author that I need to do more reading from and uh uh he also sells signed books on his website and I recommend checking them out there as well you could probably get a signed copy of Strider as well as plenty of others from Tyler Jones on his
Website just look him up uh next up was a book that I bought uh it’s kind of got a long story this is a book that I first heard about when a company called a publisher called Fantasia press started back up again after many years of being
A dormant publishing or a closed up publishing company they make signed limited edition books and they came back last year and said hey we’re back in Back in Black they’re back in action and their 50th book was going to be titled Mickey 7 I’d never heard of it there’s
Lots and lots of books that I’ve been buying and looking for and things like that and I didn’t go get it right away but I was on YouTube and I stumbled into a video by a very nice lady and she talked highly of this book and about the
Same time Diana Petro from Fantasia press sent me a message offered me a chance to get a limited edition book from Fantasia press of this book um now in the midst there of that process I decided to buy this book on Amazon just so I could read it and I bought this
Book and I’ve read it I’m going to do a review on it but mickey7 is fabulous it’s phenomenal this is simply the the trade soft cover version on Amazon it was a great read um I can’t wait just to read the uh the sequel to this book
Antimatter Blues that’s on the list I don’t have a copy yet but I will get one got so many books to read but I get I’ll get one I’ll get one coming and read the sequel antimatter Blues hopefully Fantasia press will publish a signed limited version of that book but the
List goes on the beat goes on and the beat goes on I am a big collector I’m a big big big collector of Lawrence block one of my very favorite authors walking God’s green earth famous for the Bernie Roden bar series famous for the Matthew Scutter series and this is one of the
Books in the Matthew Scutter series called even the wicked and it is the Orion UK trade hardcovered Edition and it is signed in person in the flesh Baby by Lawrence block one of my very favorite authors in God’s green earth and since signed is better I had to go
Jump I had to go get this book and add it to the collection I already had the uni the US first edition first print trade hard cover copy but I got no problem in fact I got a disease and the disease is I like to buy multiple different additions of the
Same book some people think that’s stupid and I don’t disagree with them it’s just what I do so I’ve got multiple editions multiple copies of even the wicked they do look different but it’s the same dagam story and actually all of them that I have now are autographed which I like signatures go
Figureing next up this one is uh this one is a thing it’s a comic book and I don’t collect comic books I don’t even read comic books sue me but I was looking on the eBay for something it was uh escape from from New York I collect
Novelizations of books that I of movies that I love and I’ve got a couple different versions of the novelization of Escape From New York I’m also a big big fan of Big Trouble in Little China big big big big big fan Kurt russle all that stuff well while I’m searching for
Different copies that I then the ones I have of Escape From New York novelization I saw this on the eBay and it is a mashup it’s a big Trouble in Little China and Escape From New York it’s a Loot Crate exclusive and I haven’t even
Taken it out of the rapper I just had to have it I messed in buttons and I got it coming you’re putting two iconic characters played by the same actor together and a story of some sort now I got to figure out this one is one of six
Looks like I got five more to get and I’ll probably end up reading them maybe I’ll become a comic book fanatic and a collector and I’ll spend millions of dollars buying comic books but probably not I am glad to have this one though uh just because I like the subject
Matter now I was at a bookstore in Tampa Florida called Mojo books I stop in there every once in a while and I usually end up picking up something this time I picked up two things related to movies I just mentioned I like movie novelizations I collect movie
Novelizations of movies that I like and one of the movies that I do truly like is this one raia called Young Frankenstein and Mojo books show enough had this copy of Young Frankenstein a melb Brooks film a novel by Gilbert Pearlman based on the screenplay by Jean
Wilder and Mel Brooks plus 16 pages of fabulous photos from the smash 20th Century Fox movie Super Duper super duper putting on the rits but there it is I did I collect movie novelizations really glad to be able to get this and add it to the collection it’s nice when
You stumble into something that I want and it’s cheap enough to buy and I’m looking in here it says first special printing January of 1975 so it is a first special printing the first printing was December of 1974 so there it is there it ain’t whatever
It is it is but it’s cool this is one of those things where I’m book when I’m at a bookstore and I find something like that I feel like I found a treasure it’s not worth a lot of money but what are the odds that that would have been there
When I was there also while I was there I bought something else movie related and book related I don’t really know what it is but I think it’s kind of cool I already had the movie movie novelization of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and it was more like the
Size of a typical Mass Market paperback book something like that but this little Joker was sitting on a shelf and I didn’t know what it was was it a junior novelization they tend to be a little bit smaller but it is a Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom a tale of
High adventure and it’s Illustrated with more than 60 color photographs based on a movie starring Harrison forward so take a good look again I love the cover and I think I already showed you the back of it here but let’s just see uh it was $4.99 at Mojo books there’s really
Not a story adaptation by Les Martin it’s much much shorter than the novelization itself it is only 96 pages and it’s chock full of illustrations from the movie so I would suspect even though it doesn’t come out flat out and say it up front this would be what would become known as
A junior novelization and a cool thing something cool to go to my collection I do dig the movie I did buy the book glad to have it it goes in the movie novelization collection for what it is is what it is now here’s h a few more that I want
To talk about and then I’m going to bring in a special guest if you will this one have a little bit of a hard time explaining it but I’m going to explain it anyway there’s a movie called Five Nights at Freddy’s ever here of it
And I thought it was a good movie I didn’t love the movie it was a good movie but to me it a special movie me and my youngest son sat in our little place up in Fort Payne on the mountain on Lookout Mountain and we watched this
Movie for the very first time together in the dark late one night just he and I and so the movie is kind of special to me and he he dug it he digs it he’s into the Five Nights at Freddy’s stuff so I’m at Walmart and I see this and it is the
Official movie novel Five Nights at Freddy’s adapted by Andrea wager so I dig novelizations and I collect novelizations of movies that I like this is on the list of movies that I like plus a special little sentimental memory for me so I went ahead made the purchase
I had the chance I had the shot there was no risk and I took it and it is a first print which is weird how they would have still first print copies at the Walmart but you can see the number line there goes all the way down to one
For those of you who care about such things and that is a cool addition to my collection uh just a couple more a couple more I was on Barnes & Noble’s website and I pre-ordered a book ass signed first print trade hard cover Stephen Graham Jones book that hasn’t
Been released yet and when I put it in the cart it said something about spend X number of dollars more and you get free shipping and I said dude why would I spend money on shipping when I could spend the same money on a book and then
Not pay for shipping so I’m in I went to search in and I stumbled into this another novelization this one is Conan the Barbarian and this is weird because this novelization came out many many years ago back in the 80s the early 80s and it was a bantom books I got one
Sitting on the shelf up there Mass Market paperback size considerably smaller but it seems as though Titan books heroic signature is has re-released at least this one movie novelization Conan the Barbarian by El sprag de camp and Lynn Carter based on a screenplay by John milus and Oliver
Stones so I figured I would rather pay the money and get this book then pay the money and get shipping so I get shipping and the book it seems like a whole much whole lot better deal and this is first print even though this book was originally published a long long time
Ago back in 1982 or 83 actually but a neat little addition to my collection the official Motion Picture adaptation Conan the Barbarian the movie that put Arnold Schwarzenegger on on the map the 8S icon of Action Now other authors that I collect there’s another one named David Morel in
Fact David Morel was the first author that I actually said you know I read David Morel books before that I was just reading books you know something sounded good you read it somebody give me a book I might read it or I might say it looks
Lame uh things like that I would read books based on what they seemed like they would be about and then I read a David Morel book and then I started reading more and more and more and more I was reading David Morell books also one of the first authors that I
Collected when I decided hey I read a lot of books and I collect things why don’t I have a book collection he was one of those at the beginning it was May I think three authors I collected to start with and he was one of the three
But I had a first edition first print trade hard cover version of the league of night and fog for many many years but it wasn’t signed and I had a chance to get a signed copy of the book The League of night and fog and I took it but a
Great book I strongly recommend it David Morell is uh is well known for his spy Thrillers Espionage Thrillers things like that they could be categorized in different ways and he wrote one called the Brotherhood of the Rose that’s probably one of his two most popular and
Best known books and then he also wrote one called the fraternity of the stone and it was a very similar book two partners who were doing missions and things like that who found out that what they thought was real wasn’t real turns out even though they’re different characters they were in the
Same world and this book puts them together puts them together figuring out what’s going on and uh all Morel is a master of spycraft tradecraft all that kind of stuff a lot of research on everything that goes into his books and he gives you a lot of the details on how
Things are possible how things are done such as that puts a lot of work in these books a lot more than most authors are willing to do and the league of night and fog is very good but first read Brotherhood of the Rose and the fraternity of the stone and
Then read the league of night and fog it takes these two stories puts them together great book glad to have a signed copy to go in my David Morel collection all right for the last one I got I’m going to bring in a special guest and I got my good friend Roman
Here who’s going to talk to you about something he picked up this uh this month actually so Roman what have you been reading so far um I’ve been reading some graphic novelizations From Scott coffin they are the five nights at Freddy’s series I have the whole series but we have a new one today that we going to show you all right so first of all those are all graphic novels what kind of deal did we
Make just the other day if I read a real novelization I would give $50 by the end of the month a real novel by the end within a month I would give you what $50 cash 50 big ones to read a real book a whole book so what did we get in the
Mail show everybody what we got my first actual novel all right open up all right so open it up and show us what you got all right so show us what you got I got a Five Nights at Freddy’s L’s game from the new Tales called Tales of the pizz
Plex all right so we made a deal I didn’t read my first book how old are you 11 11 I didn’t read my first book until I was about 13 and it was forced upon me in school so I’m forcing it upon you with a reward
And this one is a it’s an actual novel it’s not pictures like all the other ones it’s a real book I let Roman pick something that he wanted to read so he’s going to be reading this book which is which is 230 something pages and I offered him the deal and
Roman said challenge what what’ you say challenge accepted boom so challenge accepted we’ll check back in in about a month and see how the challenge went but Roman and we can’t think of any more lies to tell so say love Baby you’re beautiful
