Thus sayeth the Lord isn’t he amazing to us amen amen well tonight we’re going to continue as we are teaching some of the fundamental principles of the doctrine and um today the lesson this is our fourth lesson and it is the doctrine of baptism ISM the doctrine of
Baptism um and you know the Bible gives us specific instruction as to what we are to do to be saved um and those directions are simply to repent and each one of these steps we identify with Jesus when we when we repent what we’re doing is we are dying
To our flesh so we talked about the works of repentance last week and what that looks like what that means to repent to turn away from to really change our heart um and so repentance is US dying to our flesh like Jesus died the so we preach the gospel
Is essentially the death burial and the resurrection the death burial and Resurrection can somebody give me the house lights please death burial and resurrection and um so when we thank you when we are repentant when we repent we’re dying that’s death that’s turning away from our flesh our fleshly
Nature and we identify with Christ in that repent we’re baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins and we shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost so we die through repentance we’re buried in water right in Jesus name that’s the burial and then
We’re resurrected through the INF filling of the holy spirit so when we and that’s what we call being born again when we’re born again that is us being resurrected uh in the new newness of life right coming up a new creature any man that is in Christ he’s a new
Creature old things are passed away behold All Things become new so we literally become a new person spiritually um in that regard so we we die through repentance we’re buried with him in baptism and we are risen again through the baptism of the holy spirit
All right and so this is the the when we talk about water baptism this is the third step to Salvation water baptism in the name of Jesus one of the things I want you to understand is what baptism means what is baptism now we know the
Greek word which the majority of the New Testament is written in Greek um while the old test is primarily written in in in Hebrew but the Greek translation is baptismo bapo and so to really be baptized is not to sprinkle water on people because that’s the
Meaning of that word baptismo is mean to immerse or to submerge so you know like when Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist the Bible says that he went down in the water and he came up out of meaning that he went down nobody sprinkled water on them right I know
Some Churches you know they sprinkle people and they say you’ve been baptized at at at two months old right um but that’s not true water baptism water baptism is to to be buried with Christ so to speak so the English word baptism derives from this Greek word baptisma
Baptisma right which means to wash or to plunge in water to wash or to plunge in water understand this it depicts death it depicts death burial and resurrection of Jesus understand underwater is the burial when you go under you are being buried so to speak with Jesus and
Identifying in that way understand so we buried it with him in baptism understanding also that baptism is washing and cleansing of the conscience the Bible says in the book of Hebrews chapter 9 verse 14 uh Hebrews 9 and 14 Hebrews 9 and4 UM the Bible and I love to have

Now we live in a day now where’re where where the gospel ain’t good enough this is the church we live in now the church that we’re dealing with now the gospel is not good enough the death the burial the Resurrection the good news the fact that Jesus died is not good
Enough now we got to put maple syrup on Bibles now we got to kick Bibles and jump on trampolines and slide down uhhhh water slides now we got to give gimmicks and and pour sugar on people and now we got the swag surf in the church house
Because the gospel is not good enough no more for some people the fact that Jesus died ain’t enough the fact that they put nails in his hands ain’t enough the fact that they put a spear in his side and a crown of thorns on his head is not enough we
Got to jump on trampolines and create a circus in the church we got to spit on people and do all of this foolishness in the church and go viral we trying to go viral now that’s what the church doing now that’s what that’s what the church is
Doing now right that’s what the church is doing now right I went I went to support one of my friends at a local Baptist Church a couple weeks back and they they had HBCU Sunday HBCU and you had all the sororities and you had all the uh the the bands that
Came through the church I mean it’s a big church and they the bands came through playing their drums and then they started swe it was some some some secular song it wasn’t swag surfing but it was something similar to swag surfing and they started playing that and they
Had a DJ in the church and everybody was dancing and then they came down doing their dances got on the stage doing all they dancing and I said this is what church now I didn’t have no problem with the you do what you do if that’s how you
Worship that be my guess ain’t got nothing to do with me I can care less what you do in your church long as you don’t bring that stuff over here we good my thought process was this is what church has become we got to have
HBCU Sunday and do all of the this you know entertainment to get folks to come to church is is that what so the death the burial and the resurrection is no longer enough now we got to have gimmicks now we got to have gimmicks now
We got to come up with reasons to bring people to church come up with little little tricks to get them to give and you know this foolishness that we that some of these people don’t even believe themselves we’re coming up with tricks I don’t have no tricks and I’m not g to

Thing today just to get an oil change and you know how they do the service the service department is their biggest money-making machine and then you know now they done got sophisticated where the where the sales text send you the text and they like oh sir I see your tire has thin

People like nowadays I don’t know but I think the gospel is good by itself me personally you know maybe props is the thing that people need maybe you know people need to do different things maybe they need to have church in the park I don’t know maybe they need to bring
Elephants in the church and things like that I don’t know if that and they’ve done it I mean I’ve known pastors to bring elephants you know bring if that if that gets the message across to more power to you but and and I’m okay I mean if if that’s
Your thing bringing an elephant you know uh one of pastors I know we were very close at one point they brought uh donkeys in the church for um for uh Palm Sunday Palm Sunday they brought donkeys in the church and one of the donkeys did something on somebody’s clothes or
Something they had to pay for that lady clothes right and I I feel like it’s nothing wrong with it if you want to bring donkeys into church that’s what you’re doing that’s hey you getting the message across that’s your method that’s your thing but here’s the
Thing we can switch up our methods but the message needs to remain consistent it needs to remain the same it got to remain the same so he says for that and that’s the problem you got churches teaching different things and and and and and you know we we’ve got these private interpretations
Of scripture and that’s why you got to watch man where you go and who you allow to to to pour into you because there’s this strange Doctrine going on in this strange flesh and it is very pleasing to the flesh because it’s something new it activates this part of the brain

Was so called he his his whole message for like years his theme was the glory that was his gimmick the glory right and and and the glory is real but you can’t make Glory Glory so you know what they started doing cuz they wanted to boost the people’s Faith they started
They had the people going into the uh Vents and putting glitter in the vents this is what they were doing and now I’m not telling you what I think I’m telling you what I know I know this man personally and his excuse was we got to build the people’s Faith
Because when they’re in service and their hands are uplifted and the glitter comes down that builds their faith you don’t think God can build their faith Faith by giving you some real glitter and some real glory and some real smoke and some real cloud like
Listen God can he can light a bush on fire that’s it he he can light a whole Bush on fire he I I’ve been there I’ve seen not a not a bush on fire but I’ve seen smoke I’ve seen clouds while I was in prayer while I was in church and the
Whole place got cloudy and and and and it was smoke all I’ve seen that stuff so we get Little Machines like that it’s like okay do we really want to use fake smoke when we can have a real thing if we just get out of our
Flesh let me say that one more time if we just get out of our flesh and allow God to show up with the glory of God the Bible says in 2 Chronicles chapter 5 that the glory filled the house that the priest could not even stand to minister by way of the
Cloud there was a cloud see that’s when you know the glory has showed up because you can’t even preach you know this you know our little program services and I I I know that’s important for the church to be precise because sometimes you know back in them
Old churches them people was in their flesh they was getting up talking I I mean I was looking at a service the other day the organization I came out of and I say I’m so glad I ain’t that no more cuz they was in church for 4 hours

But I came out of a messed up church and the church I came out of they would bring a chair they had chairs up at the front alter anybody ever experienced that so it ain’t just me y’all y’all been through that too okay I don’t feel too bad
And they will sit up and they will call out people off sister Felicia 20 20 more dollars and they say if anybody could give we need everybody to give 20 more dolls then they’ll sing a song sing a song about giving and and they would call out the people as they’re giving
And sister um sister Tiffany two more dollars and sister this person this that and so forth right and they wouldn’t end the offering until they made they go and if they didn’t make their goal they would go in the back the deacons will come back and whenever you saw the
Deacons walk out there looking sad and and and talking the person and we didn’t make the goal Saints we didn’t make the goal we need everybody to give $20 more doll 20 more 20 more dollars 20 more dollars and when you get your $20 they call you out like listen this
Foolishness if you got to do all that to receive an offering God that God ain’t in that I’m going tell you about listen I ain’t never had to do that and if I start having to do it we can just go and shut this thing down because I’m not
Going to be doing it’s not no auction not no auction so it unifies the faith it’s amazing to me how everybody’s so different our processes are different what we believe are different but watch this there is one body and one Spirit just as you were called the Bible says to one hope when

Here on a on a you know in on an island by myself doing my own thing there’s only so far you going to be able to go by yourself so throughout all Bible biblical time we see that we see where God created Spiritual Authority we have the baptism that was
Administered by John the Baptist and we see that throughout you know Matthew chapter 3 Mark chapter 1 Luke chapter 3 John chapter 1 and all of the gospels he talked about that that was very significant that was the baptism of repentance but Jesus which he was also baptized by John the
Baptist through baptism of repentance you’ll see this in Acts chapter 19 where where the Apostle Paul he comes across these disciples I talked about it and he says have you receed the Holy Ghost since you believed he asked them a question because they were in church they were clearly
Believers so he knew they were Believers so he asked the question have you received the Holy Ghost since you believe because I see you a Believer you coming to church you’re doing this you’re you’re acting your faith is active you got to believe and you know what their response was
They said we have not so much as heard of the Holy Ghost you were going to church but you didn’t even he there’s people that’s going to church they don’t even know the baptism of the Holy Ghost exists they don’t know that that speaking in tongues and being water
Baptized in jesus’ name is is a thing like they don’t they haven’t heard it they haven’t heard about it nobody taught them this they were told to confess with your mouth and believe in your heart and you’ll be saved right so Paul asked them have you received the Holy Ghost as you believe
They respond we ain’t even heard of it Paul says so then whose baptism were you baptized unto cuz you you clearly a Believer whose baptism have you been baptized they said John the Baptist and that’s when he brought Clarity and he said John surely baptized unto the baptism of
Repentance but he told you that there was one mightier than him coming there was a greater one coming whose shoes he was not even even able to bear that will baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire so water baptism is part of the process but you got to be filled with
The Holy Ghost and I’m going to tell you one of the things that happen when you get the Holy Ghost there’s you you know you’re you’re born again you begin to think different you begin to have a power a a supernatural power the Bible
Says in Acts 1:8 and ye shall uh uh he says you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you and you shall be Witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem Judea Samaria and of the uttermost parts of the earth he said you’ll receive the baptism of the Holy
Ghost it’s going to come upon you just like it will do in the day of Pentecost it’s going to come upon you it’s going to come upon you we getting ready to celebrate Pentecost soon this year and that represents 50 talking about when the when the fire fell and you know what
I’m sick of powerless churches I got to go I got to go here for a moment I’ve never seen so many powerless churches in my life and people think this is you done got so sophisticated and so educated that you’re going to a dead Church oh let me go here for just a
Second cuz you know what God the Lord did the Lord spoke to John on the aisle of Patmos in the Book of Revelation and he talked to this dead church he was saying you’re dead you have a reputation that you are alive you got the best band
In town you got the screens you got the you got all of this stuff you got a a coffee shop you got you listen you got trampolines you got all of this you got the LED walls but you’re dead because you have a low population of redeemed Believers people that have changed when
You look at your church can you look at people that their lives whom their lives are changing because the power of God is in the church the power of God is in the building that will force you to change that will convict you to change that
Will change you that will cause you to mount up and to level up and say I can’t keep doing this God’s pushing me further God’s taking me f further he’s taking me deeper I’m going to higher Heights and deeper deaths in God is there anybody in
The house that say Lord I Want to Be Alive I don’t want a form of godliness but denying the power thereof Lord I want your Holy Spirit to rest up upon me to speak through me that I may fulfill your Great Commission because you say he that
Believeth and is baptized shall be saved shall not my God shall not be damned he said in my name they will cast out Devils they will speak with new tongues they shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing it will not harm them is there anybody in the house that
