You decide to join me again uh this is exciting it’s actually interesting one of the things that it dawned on me is that this was this started as a project and it still is a project to a certain degree right it’s more so just to I always say consolidate all the different
Personas that I’ve created over the years uh and share them out right with everyone because it’s exhausting it’s so exhausting for that reason the show was birthed uh but it’s been also interesting to get some of the feedback that I get from you all it actually seems like we’re having a conversation

Like the peppery taste like if I want something clean y’all know where I’m going with this I’m going to KAS Amigos for the Negroes this is a really really well I taste some of Allen I didn’t I was trying to hold off my mind uh until I actually started talking to y’all so
Let me go ahead and sip this really quick excuse me oh my word I’m sorry for folks that’s listening y’all know I’m trying to try out for some ASMR um so those sound effects if it was getting you let me know that too uh but for those watching
Y’all just saw the a little I made a little bit but it is good it it really does taste like a martini oh it’s just good that was good I used to drink lemon drops back in the day when I would go to the club um I
Didn’t really know any better so I would be at the bar and I would stand there trying to figure out what I wanted to drink and I would hear somebody say oh I want a lemon drop and so I would say oh I would like a lemon drop too and so
That’s how I started to taste drinks when I would go out to the clubs with my friends when I was younger and college more so that’s how I came across limit drop and it was good then and it’s definitely good now it’s giving me y’all
Going to see that one again so I know it’s not Black History Month also but a lot of you talked about how y’all like me repping my HBCU sweatshirt so I figured I just wear them out until I got done wearing them and so today I’m rocking Benedict College Benedict is

Show so let’s see what happened since the last time we talked well I went to um a ski trip and what I thought was Salt Lake City we flew into Salt Lake City Utah uh I’ve only flown into Salt Lake City just to do a like I guess as a
Layover but this was the first time that I actually flew into Salt Lake City and went outside of the airport I went with a bunch of my frat brothers it was a great experience I found out two days into the trip that we actually weren’t
In Utah we were in Idaho uh I think it was Lake Charles Idaho I had never been to Idaho so I can now cross it off my list I’ve been to Idaho I’m gonna just say I did the whole state uh same thing with Utah I’m just gonna say we did this
It’s no need for me to go back it was an interesting trip from the standpoint of even just the laws around alcohol consumption so I thought we were going on this trip and I was like hey I even sent a little side note to one of the
Organizers of the trip saying look if you could just get me a case of lamara and a bottle of KAS Amigos I’ll give you the money because that’s just what I want to sip on for the duration of the trip they sent me a picture of what was
A liquor store that looked like a closet um and it was like the liquor was pretty much stacked on these little shelves it was interesting and so uh needless to say I got like two bottles of lamara and a bottle of KAS Amigos that was gone
Probably by the end of the first night that was a dry trip and it was okay that it was dry right because the altitude was really throwing me off so even a lam marker that I did have a chance to drink it was giving me a headache I have a
Frat brother who’s just like drink this drink this drink this take this shot and I’m like no no I have choice no I’m not doing it and then I ended up having to make me a Moscow Mule um but it gave me a headache and so uh I was just like
Okay let me figure out what the problem is because Tios don’t normally give me a headache but in this instance it did come to find out it was actually the U altitude that I think was giving me a headache and it was only one other time I experienced like guess sickness in
Drinking when I was up at a high altitude and that was in vataa Colombia so yeah but anyway the trip was for most of us it was like let’s get together let’s have a good time let’s stay up listen to music play cards you know do
Just stuff that like you have no care in the world for me the trip was about resting you all know I traveled a lot and I get tired and I’m like I just don’t want to do anything and so I feel like when you’re home you’re always thinking about doing something like even
When you’re sitting in the house you’re like oh I should go to the grocery store uh I need to get some gas damn I need to get me some gas then you’re like oh oh you know what let me go on to Joanne’s Fabric because I was thinking about
Doing this or then you’re like oh let me go to this function over here let me go to this function over here I’m supposed to be resting but I got to go to these functions because I’m home and so when we went up into the cabin or the place
That we were staying it was a huge home I just sat there the entire time cooked a little drank a little slept a lot by the end of the trip they were calling me granny uh because of the fact that I was like going to bed at midnight they were
Up till like 4 in the morning and I just at 4:00 or 5 in the morning I couldn’t do it my body started to shut down and there were times when we were all playing games and I realized that I needed to go to sleep so I went to sleep
And that’s because I needed it so the goal of trips for me is to always try my hardest to get bored like I want to be able to leave and say oh get me the hell up out of here because I am bored as hell so that’s usually like where I
Start but overall it was good to connect with Brothers I think I mentioned on our previous episode how I I just when was the last time you had a chance to just do like that you just never dumb like in a while since you were a kid
Like just hang out with your friends like have a sleepover sleepovers were fun right um when when you were a kid if you I couldn’t host them but I could go to them we used to have great times at sleepover later show um but no the I
Think that that was um those were times when you just didn’t have a care in the world and so this was kind of similar but it wasn’t adult version where you know instead of y’all sleeping on the floor in pallets on pallets or in uh sleeping bags y’all got your own rooms
Now and you can go to sleep and do what you need to do so um we also had a chance to dive into some what I would say was really meaningful conversation another thing we as adults don’t even get to do I was going to say is a thing
That guys don’t get to do I think especially but I think adults all around don’t have a chance to just sit and like let’s just talk about some deep one of the things we did was um we essentially it was a car a game that we were playing where you handed out cards
And on the card you had a question and you had to answer the question and then you chose somebody to answer the question too uh and so when it came around to me I can’t remember what mine was if somebody who was there if y’all can remind me what my question was
Because I can’t remember it let me know but there was one question that stuck out to me and I’m paraphrasing because I don’t quite remember it verb but it was along the lines of if you had to marry yourself what are the qualities that you would want to lean into or you
Would want to make sure shows up uh and it was an interesting response because the brother had to respond to this was like uh this is I don’t know because I don’t ever see myself getting married I don’t because I’m 40s something years old and I just don’t see marriage in my
Future and so he was just interesting it really forced him to think about like what his life would look like I guess if he were married but it also hit him that he had just recently lost his mom and he said in the midst of taking care of his
Mom uh before her death that it also hit him that when his time who’s going to take care of him he didn’t have a partner he didn’t have children and so for that reason it just seemed like it it hit him and then that question kind
Of triggered him as well but then a lot of the other brothers in the room who were not married uh didn’t have any children were thinking the same thing and they admitted like I that’s something I think about often and I realized this is just a universal
Problem but it was just something that I thought man like I’ve heard women some of my women friends who don’t have children and who aren’t married aren’t partnered don’t know if they see a partner in their immediate or long-term future kind of like grapple with this
Idea of like well what the hell am I supposed to do who’s going to be there and I thought about it in the context of the fact that a lot of people aren’t having children now like by choice like straight gay you name it like nobody is
Like some people are just saying I don’t want to do this and I get it because sometimes I think about that too like wow are you really bringing a child into this world do you see what is going on I think about that often actually for the
Folks that are listening or who are viewing is that something that you feel and I and I’ll I thought about that from the from the standpoint of um if something were to happen to Allen if something were if I didn’t have children like what would that mean and I I’ll
Also be honest with you when we went to uh PTO vitha maybe two years ago and I’m looking around and Porto vartha is very gay friendly and so I’m looking around the room and I’m looking or outside and I’m looking on the streets and I see all
These men white men Latino men uh very few black men uh and they’re all there and their like muscle shirts trying to look young and trying to make sure they you know they stay snatched so that way they can compete with these young dudes and I was like this is not my
Life no no no so I went upstairs like and I said I had to have a talk with Allan because I was just like I’m not trying to get old walking around these streets trying to be seen by uh young dudes right like I want a family I want
My eggs cracked okay I want my last name dropped all right like that’s the energy that I was giving it resulted in like a a two-day argument but we got it together cuz we’re still together look at that overall I would say that that conversation alone was so deep and so
Rich with the brothers in the room I would say the interesting thing about this group of brothers is that there were multiple Generations represented in the conversation and so you had the Gen xers you had the baby boomers the the young baby boomers the Gen xers the
Millennials the Gen Z’s and so we were all bringing our perspective to the table another topic that came up was like RCI battle fatigue right like going out and being yourself and showing up every day what the world thinks you’re supposed to be it’s just it’s a lot
Right or to deal with microaggressions at work or to be run rampant at work because you might be the most competent person there right in regards to your non-black peers right it was a lot but I think there was also this I I coined
Well I think I coined it um I called it gay battle fatigue and that is also the same thing of just having to show up in a certain way uh overachieving trying to prove yourself um it’s like it’s look I said it on the last show or the show
Before last it’s exhausting being black is scary but it’s also exhausting but I wouldn’t give it up for anything else I love being black let me tell you something I love being black so but no those were like really really good Rich conversations with the brothers um I
Really really enjoyed this trip and it hit me that like this is one of the last trips that I might be able to take for a while with um my brothers while we’re in a larger fraternity we’ve created spaces for ourselves um because the fraternity doesn’t always lean
Into the personalities or the traits or the things that we we like right and I think we as a group of men uh were really just trying to develop a rich emotional bond and create a space for us to be emotional because some of my old
The frat brothers and you don’t want to go ahead and be emotional with them no I would pass on that one a hard pass too the last thing that kind of struck me when we went to Salt Lake City I was flying back out and so I had some time
Between my flight when my flight was leaving and when I got there and so I sat in the Delta Sky Lounge you know it’s one of my favorite places I drank some osas because you know I don’t really like doing hard hard stuff in the
Morning uh I drank a mimosa and a guy came up and was like I’ll have a bloody Mary with a double please and she was like oh I can give you uh a Mormon double and he was like well what does that mean she was like I give you two
Olives uh we can’t do double shots in Utah I was like damn they got it unlocked like that not even in the Sky Lounge you can’t even so many so many rules so many rules uh somebody said that Utah and Idaho are the places where white people go when they just don’t
Want to see any black people at all at all I don’t know if I saw any outside of the ones that I came with I didn’t see any on the plane I think I was the only black person on the plane yeah it was very the the snow was white it was very
It was a very white space very nice you don’t have to go but sure go to Utah and Idaho so let’s see Switching gears so what’s been on my mind y’all first of all I want to say congratulations to Kelly Roland I recently read that that she and her husband are expecting a
Third child and so I’m excited about that uh partly because I really really feel like I know Kelly in my head and so now to know that me and Kelly might be you know having kids around the same age I’m like we can set up a play date Kelly
So hit me up Kelly I’ve been following you all of my life um and we’re friends you just don’t know that yet but when you do find out that we’re friends we going to have such a good time you were just up my alley always have been go
Kelly I’m sure you all may have seen the news and they were talking about how Kelly walked off the set guess she was supposed to co-host with Hoda and so that didn’t happen because they said Kelly walked off because they Al Les she was upset about size of her dressing
Room it was also said that JLo was supposed to be at appearing on the show her dressing room was larger I don’t know if that’s the case I don’t really care if that’s the case because at the end of the day Kelly has children chice and if she was co-hosting
I do agree that you know she should have had a larger dressing room and larger than JLo um but that just seems I like I don’t know if I care about that but I love the way Kelly has been handling it which was like I’m not gonna even speak
On this because it’s none of y’all damn business and to me it’s kind of like hushed it a lot like people are talking about it but it’s just like well if she ain’t gonna say nothing then I mean what the hell we got to talk about it’s all
Specul at this point I learned something like people are going to say about you something else that’s on my mind so I also had the chance to see the leadup for the uh Wendy Williams uh piece that’s supposed to be airing and it’s so sad to learn of Wendy’s illness you know
I grew up on Wendy Williams Hot 97 mostly and WBLS I think were the two places where I Hur her the most she’s been a household figure so to see her suffering uh at this point time I guess elements of dementia it was so troubling
I also saw the clip on YouTube of black chy who went to go visit her and you could see man I hope she gets better I’m GNA Watch the documentary but it was just hard to see so shout out to Wendy keeping you in our thoughts so I think
We talked about Monique on a couple episodes back and just how she was going out going for blood again but then her son came out and started saying she ain’t the mother that she trying to paint herself out to be and Mo’Nique then took to the stage in one of her
Shows pretty much like told the son F you like kiss my ass and I don’t think those are the words that she use exactly but it was probably worse than what I just said now I know parents and children y’all they Feud everybody’s relationship is not perfect but Mo’Nique
You can’t be on here talking about uplifting the people and then like y’all need to handle this privately your son may have come out with the information first but you’re the parent at what point do you kind of say like hey I clearly something we’re not connecting
And so let me talk to you oneto one let me not do this sort of outward expression let me not record a video with daddy so that way you know we all can I guess you know see YouTube and lock and step refuting the what your son
Had to say about you like why don’t you go see a therapist like do this in private you know back in the day they used to say your business shouldn’t be out in the street like this my mother used to say like I been not hear about
What’s happening in his house out in the street we’re all here this is like a feud on a text message chain that we can’t get out of and so that’s my advice to y’all like everybody has trauma everybody has issues me included I just don’t think that this is the place that
Y’all should be airing out your grievances like find another place preferably with a licensed professional who can kind of help you sort through your feelings cuz clearly he feels some type of way and clearly you feel some type of way as well so it’s just worth y’all having a mediator to help y’all
Work through that so I was looking at TMZ and I saw Tiffany hadish I guess she’s taking a pilgrimage to Israel but she said she’s going to Tel Aviv she’s G to go to the Dead Sea she’s gonna do this and so it sound like it was a
Vacation but then she went on to say oh and I’m also going to go ahead and check out to see what’s happening for myself because you can’t be believing everything that’s going on in the news now who who the hell made her an ambassador to the UN I’m like when when
Did this happen I can tell you one thing I would not want her advocating on my behalf uh I’m good I’m I’m good Tiff then she started to go on like this big rant just about I’m here by myself I ain’t got no man I ain’t got nobody and
So I’m here by myself I’m like what in the hell is going on like how did we get here she’s there I don’t know what it maybe maybe Biden Center uh speaking of Biden hey I need y’all to go ahead and so everybody else has been getting these student loan
Emails and um I’ve been checking and I thought like maybe I went by last name and my last name is a k I figured like y’all would have called me already everybody else is getting C like I have a friend with a W last name I have a
Friend with a e last name so I’m trying to figure out like why I haven’t gotten the email yet so maybe y’all forgot it or it might be still sitting in the scent folder because you got to hit the S button on it but I would really love
It if y’all can go ahead and work on these loans please please I beg of you I have a kid coming I need to be as debt-free as possible because this sounds like a lifetime of debt now something else that came up on the news so I’m not sure if you all are
Familiar with uh the 18-year-old Daryl George who was suspended from school in Texas uh for refusing to cut his locks it’s been on the news um probably I watched CNN Faithfully he got to suspended from school and they told him it was because his locks uh I guess
Weren’t in line with the dress code or hair code the superintendent of the schools actually placed a full page opinion piece in a local newspaper and said being American requires uniformity with positive benefits of unity more recently I guess Texas court cided with the school system saying that they
Didn’t feel like the school’s policy didn’t I guess align with or didn’t contradict the crown act and so now here we are dude’s been out of school I hope he’s been in school someplace uh because I was just I’m like well where has he been if he can’t go to school but that’s
Something that nobody’s ever talked about it’s just interesting to me that we’re in a space now where folks are still like you can’t have this type of hairstyle and I I find it interesting that they’re coming for black hairstyles in particular right don’t nobody say anything when y’all be when y’all be
Bringing the lights to school in your little greasy hair nobody like nobody says anything to that right or when others do things that seem different or maybe unsanitary don’t wash your hands like we don’t say anything about that either but you really have the nerve to come for somebody in their hairstyle
What type of country where you can’t wear your hair any way you want to nobody says anything when you dye it pink purple blue green orange yellow but I can’t wear locks what bases like what under what grounds is it not Clint clean do you think it’s not clean actually I
Mean I know a lot of them whose hair is probably cleaner than yours and and I’m not talking about y’all y’all know who I’m talking about so I just find it troubling that we’re still in a space in time where children are being attacked and penalized for expressing themselves
Because it may not align with entric ideas right it’s a little too black I mean I can be black but not too black man like once again that just brought me back to say are you really bringing a child into this country but yeah I am speaking of children so on a previous
Show that hey we’re out of the first trimester really excited about it but now I keep getting bombarded with all these damn feelings and questions that I have for myself to baby shower or not to baby shower like what the hell are we going to call this baby because this
Name gonna be with them for the rest of their life another question is oh my Friendship Circle seem to be shifting early uh what what do I do about this cuz uh folks been real quiet on our a nanny to daycare who knows do I ask people to get something
Off the registry do I do a registry are you going to do the god parent thing if you do who why what does that mean so it’s like all these questions that definitely are coming to the Forefront thank you for my friends who’ve been sort of leaning in especially my friends
With children who are like uhuh you need to do this like my friend Jasmine was like uh you need you need to go ahead and sign up for an our pair now go ahead and do that so that way you can have it in line when you and the baby come back
Home even the registry like thank goodness for those folks I mean I know what I’m doing but it just seems like a lot so the last couple of things I guess is somebody asked me the other day is catfishing still real in 2024 I don’t
Know to be honest with you cuz I really haven’t gone on a date outside with the same person for a while I haven’t really been catfished like that I do know beard fishing is a thing especially in the gay community because because dudes they got have that beard giving you a good Ricky
Rosé and then they shave that beard and looks pretty bad looks very bad some of them be having like the little butt chins and stuff it was all covered up a little sharp ha chin it was covered up cuz they had the beard now they cut the
Beard off and it looks horrible now there’s some people who do cut their beards and they don’t look horrible um but if you’re one of the folks that know that you keep a beard because of the fact that you know you look way better with it just be upfront about it so I’ll
Tell you a quick story about uh so catfishing has been around for a while so I’m going to tell you a quick story about how uh I was catfish probably back in maybe 2004 2004 around when I first moved to Atlanta I was staying with my good friends from Jersey we were childhood
Friends Emil and Bernard and I met somebody on an app and I don’t know what app it was because yall not gonna shade me because it could have been one of those other runchy apps but I met dude on an nap and in the picture when I tell
You it was this like Shamar moresque like you know looking being in this picture I mean just just look real good so I was like oh bet I was like I’m about to go on a date with this man is fine so I’m about to go on this date and
We gonna see what happens so I remember he pulled up uh to pick me up we went to brunch which I didn’t know brunch was a thing so we went to brunch and I couldn’t really see him as I was walking to the car I could see a light-skinned
Person that’s all I could see and I think the windows might have been a little tinted and I get into the car and I look I was like this is not the man that I saw in this picture I’m looking for Shamar so hey excuse me I’m looking for Shamar
Moore um hey I I think I’m in the wrong car so he was like Hey Samar what’s going on how you doing you know I was like oh hey hey so I’m like nah nah H he so he’s like you ready for brunch you like and so I was hungry I
Was a college student and so I was like yeah we about to go get this brunch I don’t care I’m just gonna eat I’m gonna eat this damn food and we went to brunch I remember we went to Flying Biscuit and the whole time I’m sitting there like
This dude is not the damn person that I saw on the damnn screen like what the hell so I’m trying to have conversation but I’m so still upset like I just got catfish didn’t know that that’s what it was right I remember the check came and
The person said one or two checks and because I didn’t want dude to think that we were about to do anything or that I owed him anything I was like too please because I was G to cover my meal now that was stupid of me because I probably
Overdrew my account I ain’t even gonna lie um but I just need to know that you weren’t getting anything up in here you lied you lied and so catfishing is nothing new has it stopped in 2024 no it’s probably broadened it probably is a lot more sophisticated than what it used
To be in the past so I would say no catfish has not stopped also I knew a girl in high school who had like a boyfriend online that was catfishing her too I mean she would come and tell us stories about like and I say us teachers included like the teachers be sitting
There like this is so sad like this girl oh God so yeah um it’s been around for a very long time you know I was talking to a friend just around the quality of music and how music has shifted so much over the years especially in my lifetime
I’ll say in my lifetime but and we were talking about rap and I was like you know I like rap but I just don’t understand what today’s rap is and sometimes even with new school R&B like there’s some of it I get into but I was
Like you also can see like the emotional state that like the Young Folks are going through they’re a lot more emotional I would say than previous generations I guess Back in the Day R&B was like come to my room and turn off the lights and light a candle cuz we
About to make love all night baby that’s that’s that’s what that R&B was but today’s R&B it’s evolved a bit and so listening to folks like Jan IU and others like I’m like okay I could see what this going but then you have the Coco Jones who’s trying to bring some
Soul into it and you don’t really have like the Jennifer Hudson and the fantasias and all them and so what dawned on me was we don’t really have a lot of people in today’s current music environment is the R&B environment that have the church background because a lot
Of that Soul came from church and so it makes me wonder like because I I think a lot of people are choosing to be religionless spiritual but religion less is that having a toll on how we receive or how we’re getting music now and how people are expressing themselves because
I mean I think of all the greats they all say that they had some sort of a church upbringing or something now it makes me say well damn do we need to make sure our child is in church because if you have a potential star on your
Hands you want to make sure they have the right tools all right I was going to save this one but also somebody asked me like do you break up in private or public and so I think that that’s a very personal question personal not in the sense that you know it’s you shouldn’t
Ask somebody that but more so you got to look at your circumstances and your situation and figure out whether or not you should be breaking up this person in public or private right and so if you know that you got somebody that’s a loose cannon go ahead and take yourself
Outside cuz you don’t know what’s about to happen we need to make sure that everybody is on the up and up and so I would say you know if you have to know the person that you’re with to be able to decide that in private if you know
That that person could be a bit you know emotional I guess but I used to do it in public but I was not in public like here he here ye I today sad was Keith have decided to it was more of a like let’s go get something to eat and then I’m
Going to look you dead in your face and I’m going to say hey I just don’t think that this is working anymore and you’re going to say what do you mean this isn’t working anymore and I’m going to say I just can’t see this happening and you’re
Going to no I’m not doing all that but no I think I used to do it in public or I would do it over the phone I definitely would do it over the phone so if I didn’t trust you I would do it over the phone I did that one time and dude
Showed up so I had to move into like some wooded area in Atlanta it was a wooded area in Atlanta but it wasn’t like in the woods like I wasn’t like sleeping in a tent or anything but no that’s uh that that’s the last question
