My favorite thing about joining a fraternity was the opportunities I have to help out in the tech community the Russellville community and the opportunities I have after college upon graduation with the thousands of alumni and brothers that I have that can offer me jobs help and advice for my career and
Just in life in general I believe if I didn’t join my organization I wouldn’t have had the leadership opportunities I have now I don’t believe I’d be as involved on campus as I’ve got in the last two or three years and overall I
Think my college experience would have just been not as fun if I hadn’t joined my organization. This has impacting me a lot because in my organization there are a lot of leaders and and to be an Alpha you have to be a leader first
We have to follow in order to be a great leader you have to follow and I have to learn it the leadership has inspired me it’s encouraged me to be bold to just shine a light on campus to actually influence the lives of impact the lives
Of others it’s just allowed me to be an inspiration and just do the best that I can to be the best person that I can be I joined my organization as a freshman because I was looking for a home somewhere that I belonged to before joining I was kind of shy and
Quiet and I just knew I needed to come out of my shell and I was ready for all the opportunities it could give me my organization really does mean a family I came to Tech not knowing anybody so I went through a recruitment to make new
Friends and find my home away from home so through going through recruitment and finding my on-campus family it really gave me a sense of belonging to Arkansas Tech I joined my organization because I came to college and I did keep that open
Mind-ness during rush and I went through and I talked to everybody and I felt that it was the best fit for me I really like their values and everything like that service in my organization and I believe others and other organizations can attest this as well has been our main priority last
Year for Greeks give back we donated over 40,000 individual food items to the Russellville community and I saw the impact that made and it made me really proud to wear these letters across my chest the advice I would give people
Coming to tech that want to join a Greek lettered organization is one definitely give recruitment a try even though it sounds scary it’s totally worth it and even if you don’t end up going through with it you’ll at least have made new
Connections through it join a fraternity for the friendship aspect I mean scholarship aspect all I mean you always have somebody study with you know you’ve always got that person that took the same classes as you and you can always
Get help with school just from being in a fraternity what I would say is join it for the work and for the lifelong connections you can make the Brotherhood and and for sororities the sisterhood don’t follow your friends don’t go somewhere because you think it’s the more popular or the more exciting
Sorority go to where you find your people and just really where you click and where you belong with everyone else I would say keep an open mind because we’re all here trying to recruit you trying to get you to join our fraternity
But you’re gonna find one that you fit in the most comfortable with the group of guys are the group of girls that you relate to but in the end we’re all trying to become better people and that’s the end goal for our fraternity
And sorority so you’re gonna fit in you’re gonna find the right group and at the end four years later you’re gonna graduate and you’re gonna be a better person than you came in as so if you’re ever interested I would just seriously
Do it you miss up all the opportunities that you don’t take my favorite thing about my sorority would definitely be my sisters I laugh with my sisters I cry with my sisters but most importantly I love my sisters understand that college
Is an experience within itself and going Greek is the icing on the cake it really is like having 40 plus sisters at home and it’s really nice to have them around because they’re motivating me to do things that I don’t want to do
Such as when I really don’t want to go to class and they like get up it’s an 8 a.m. let’s go going to football games volunteering in my community doing things I never thought I’d do like doing an interview about Greek life so it’s really awesome family service engagement development fun scholarship leadership
Is one of the best decisions I ever made it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made
