And you have to go to all of the functions and I did that so brother boss I’m anointing myself a great Omega Man today I hope you don’t have no exception to that so we got along very well then his health began to deteriorate mentally so I will visit him two or
Three times a week I kept an eye on his gas tank because I don’t want him the only place he’ll go from his house to Denny’s to make sure he doesn’t run out of gas on the road cuz I know what a panic that would be for him so we had a
Good time throughout one if I can re recapitulate everything he said he said being a great Omega man is like a collab scope of Endeavors and come with that a fiduciary obligation you have to do everything that Omega asked you to do and I’ve done
That and when he went on to live with his son because of his health he always had a sarcastic way of responding so I want to test him Mr Bron this is the internal revenue I just ordered your books and you are 2,5 36 Cents short he said oh yes I said

A name there’s a reason I first encountered my Uncle Edward E was for embracing me encouragement just generally kind as a two and a half year old he had come to 2167 Northwest Fifth Court to visit with my aunt an when he came I was Seated on the floor playing with my
Toys came over greeted me hugged me and I looked at him and I was thinking in the back of my mind I said t DH tall dark and handsome at two and a half years old he encouraged me throughout my life when I reached grade school it was time to have my teeth
Examined and then here comes the Deep oh my goodness he’s a dentist he’s dedicated to his field he encouraged me to keep my teeth in good condition he encouraged me to do the best that I could and to be dedicated in life when I attended his office he was
Very very gentle he plays toal topical anesthetic there was no pain there was gentleness throughout as I reached the high school years I encountered an essay by G gor do the tooth the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth this was about a patient who had encountered a dentist in his life
And he was Panic stricken I sat there and read the essay and shook my head I said oh this has nothing to do with my Uncle Edward he was so gentle so kind to me W in his name stands for work he had a Supra of work eth ethic he
Worked worked work work work he worked for his his family he worked for his brothers his fraternity and he worked for mankind in one instance after he retired he was in charge of a dental clinic and I was visiting I was home from my residency I was visiting and uh
He told me about the people he encountered he he was he was beaming with joy because he was able to cure five or six slots somewhere for women who were in need of help just temporary help but they needed a little boost they needed encouragement they needed to feel
That someone cared and my uncle Edward is there to care I appreciated it because I worked at the county hospital I was at Howard University and we encountered women like that all the time so I thought it was just f fastic of him to care that much he was accepting of
All he you could go and talk with him and tell him of your problems and he wouldn’t look down upon you which was very good because if you’re in a position to help someone you have to be able to relate he was relatable to his public he was relatable to
Mankind very accepting of all he was dedicated uncle was dedicated to the cause he was dedicated to remembering from whence we come he was dedicated to Black History which is very important nowadays never let anyone shut out our history live your life be like him emulate him his middle name was Joseph and
Joseph is a great name because Joseph is the name that God commissioned to be the father of his son on Earth Uncle Edward followed his commission he never well Joseph initially Joseph in the Bible followed the commission of God there was never a Mory Povich moment he never rejected his son or his
Adoptive Sons or his adop go daughters he told me he said Gee he said well an and I only have sons when my father passed he looked at me he said but I’m here for you I looked at him and laughed I said kind of like a daughter and he
Said yes he did that with all his nieces he cared definitely cared about all of us yes so that’s that he was given that name of Joseph for a reason then there’s the braining aspect the braining were the Foundation there was Eddie there was maam I lived and saw them from Early
Childhood to adulthood they were a wonderful family when I went there the day after Christmas they always had a large Christmas dinner but I was always with my immediate family Christmas day but the day after Christmas was the day when I came there me and my mom my brother we
Came there to their house and at that time Miss mayale had a sweet potato pie for me she had me a bowl of peach cobbler she knew I like sweet potato pie my aunt said no one can oh yours is in the refrigerator no one can touch this pie I said oh my

Sci-Fi fraternity Incorporated but to uh the community of Miami the wonderful example um one of the first um leading dentist and practices the whole family judge brain and what a blessing um your family has been to Miami into the community and we thank God for sharing
Him uh with us um what I loved about Dr brandan is he would never leave here on a Sunday without shaking my hand right right uh that that that said to me that he he understood what men do yes sir and he wanted to make sure that he
Acknowledged what men do and and we’re grateful for that and so grateful for the blessing of the many years uh that that we’ve had he’s resting now and all of us are going to have to take our rest one day we don’t know when but we all

Time some of the familiar fa here in the audience I bring deepest sympathies from the congresswoman to you this morning um wisdom is the principle and when brother Klay came up here just a while ago and spoke of the wisdom Dr brandan had in life there’s evidence of that and those
Of us gathered here today an indelible Legacy Left Behind for us to live up to and try and follow and emulate in our lives I will read to you part of the Proclamation that the congresswoman took to the floor of the Congress earlier this week in memory of Dr brandan this particular sympathy

Recognition I rise today to honor The Life and Legacy of a truly remarkable individual Dr Edward J Brennan Jr who peacefully passed away on February 25th 2024 at the age of 96 leaving behind a legacy that will forever illuminate a path whereas Dr Brandon’s Journey was one of service leadership and
Vision born on January 15th 1928 in Miami’s historic Railroad shop area and graduating with honors from Booker Washington High School at remarkable age of 16 in 1944 before continuing his education Pursuit at Fisk University in Nashville Tennessee we excelled both academically and athletically being a member of the track
Team and the Fisk dance band he later transferred to Howard University in Washington DC where he completed his undergraduate studies in biology and Earned earned a doctor of dental surgery degree from Howard School of Dentistry in 1954 whereas Dr Bran’s commitment to service and Brotherhood was exemplified through his initiation in mega Sci-Fi fraternity IDE chapter in 1945 marking beginning of a lifelong dedication to uplifting his community and fostering bonds of Brotherhood and
Whereas Dr Brennan’s leadership extend beyond Academia and fraternity serving as commissioned Dental officer in the United States Air Force demonstrating his commitment to both his country and his profession and later holding various leadership roles with as theity Grand basilis and whereas Dr Brandon’s dedication to community service was evident through his involvement in
Organizations such as the Boys Scouts of America young men’s Christian Academy YMCA and the black archives history and Research Foundation of South Florida earning him recognition one of South Florida’s Living Legends by the Miami Herald in 1992 being listed amongst the 100 most influential black Americans by ebony magazine and whereas he
Survived by his children Edward and Keith brandan grandson Kobe brandan and countless family and friends he was preceded in death by his wife an krie Brennan and whereas Dr Brennan’s commitment to Excellence and service earn him numerous accolades including keys to cities accomodations proclamations plaques and certificates reflecting the profound
Impact he had on the life and the lives of countless individuals whereas now therefore be it resolved that I Frederica s Wilson a member of the United States House of Representatives represented 24th congressional district of Florida I’m honored honored to recognize the late Dr Edward J brinan Jr celebrating his remarkable Life and
