You got to already kind of watch that 50 and walk straight come in a little bit um Dorothy my summer regimen is very intense it’s like an 8we process of just non-stop conditioning training and different styles of dance you can make the team but you have to get through the summer
Process during the summer process toia made the team and then I guess after like maybe day2 she felt like the process was just too intense for her and she let herself go Abby she ended up transferring schools and because of that reason she couldn’t be a g
Girl and every year girls get kicked off the team before the start of the Season me I made it through the entire first week and then I got a Tex Sunday and she was like oh you’re not on the team no more and my face was like one day we was in
Practice and over the weekend we came back and somebody was gone so we just was like whoa I was at a party and then it was a video and my hand gesture within the video like kind of stuck up the middle finger and then it surfaced around Instagram and it got back to
Her she had diminish like oh should I keep on the team and then let people say oh I’m showing favoritism because she’s my cousin or do I just eliminate her from the team being named an alternate I didn’t really think I was fully on a team so I didn’t want to get too
Excited butman is no longer a part of the team and now we’re Here at the end of the day I can’t blame nobody but myself you can’t be a regular teenager and still try to be a Jer it just doesn’t balance yes ma’am yes ma’am yes ma’am yes ma’am yes ma’am yes ma’am yes ma’am yes ma’am you better let them you better

Goblin they say that I’m I’m schizophrenic they say I’m intimidating but I can guarantee you no other dance team in Miami is training the way I train my young ladies and that’s why they’re so strong These girls are dancing all four quarters it’s a 10-minute show a minute and a half of a tunnel acrobatics different styles of dance a minute and a minute 30 seconds of just straight through choreography and then you have 2 qu of St rou SE that’s a lot of Work being that this is a brand new team it’s such a small team I think that they are intimidated by previous teams there’s an expectation from the g girls and so like when they show up on that field and in them stands like people don’t care that they new
My concern is I don’t know if the girls truly believe in the talent that they really have you know the first game may be first game Jitters but I think that they are so pressured about how do we live up to this expectation of what these girls
Have created and maintained over all of these years the thing is they all have it but for whatever reason some of them are having a hard time pulling it out so my fear is how do I get them to pull that out fast I’m lowkey like real
Nervous and of course we’re nervous cuz it’s our first game but we’ve been working really hard so I just hope we all do well we have big shoes to F cuz it’s like past teams they’ve gone viral on the shade room so it’s like we have

Of g girls whether I’m here or not you’re leaders of a new school so you lead the new school the new generation the next generation of g girls that’s a big responsibility so you can’t be afraid of it you have to like tackle it head
On but right now what I’m seeing is like nerves and it’s like making me nervous you only have one time to get this thing right they don’t care that you new they don’t care that you young they don’t care that you never done it before they don’t care about none of
That they’re going to compare you to previous teams but the unfortunate thing about that is those teams have been g girls for three and four years so they understand what it is already y’all don’t and we’re not like other dance teams we’re not like that majorette
Style dancing that they do up north or in the South or what we don’t do that we’re our own thing there is nothing else like us and sometimes that scares people when you’re different it’s like uh what is that but it’s your job to make a Believer out of them do you understand Yes miam Northwestern football game from kids to grandmothers grandfathers everybody it’s a party Northwestern means everything to this community everything you’ve been to the foot games right packed packed M Northwest has been a beacon in the black community you have people that graduated from the school 50s 60s 7s ‘ 80s ’90s
They come to the game it’s like a family reunion the fans don’t only come for the football team they want to see the band they want to hear the music they all come out just to watch the dancers just to watch them their interest into the stadium is a show in

The age of four but when she danced they were like do that again I knew that she was different from five years old she been studying studying studying studying dance instead of watching TV and cartoons K be watching Dance I gravitated towards dance because it just only felt
Right and I did grow up idolizing g girls I always watch them all the time on Instagram YouTube we in Miami and everybody just wants to be different and want to be on something that’s different and not like look like everybody else all the other dance teams
They like do like line dance routines and like this is just full on dancing dancing dancing like technique and all before I made the team I didn’t realize that it was going to be as hard as it was but if Miss jar hold auditions for the captain position I would would go for
It because after high school I plan on Dancing professionally for a little bit after that I think I would want to have a dance studio like Mrs J Bar I want to follow Mrs J Baron’s footsteps because it’s hard in the real world for a dancer but it’s my home so I just want to make sure everybody here Is you e but we have people that are injured I have four that are not 100% so going into this week I had to try to figure out like what can I do to make them look good because for whatever reason the stamina is not up to par the
Energy level is not up to par so this week they won’t be doing as much performing on the field I’m trying to save them we don’t have a big team so God willing if we make it the playoffs I want to be able to have all seven girls for every
Game and I don’t have a captain I don’t have nobody that’s really stepping up well I can’t really depend on none of them cuz nobody has showed me that they can really like push through an entire game my my I he I know you don’t have no body you know he wasn’t blessed with curvs and stuff yet cuz you just don’t like this ain’t nothing moving you got to like you got to try like I know sister but you got to try ain’t [ __ ] moving like
Nothing I work so hard with the girls and some of them want to be g girls since they were little so now you have an opportunity and you’re not making the most of the moment she still needs to work on her flexibility she’s still super super
Tight you know she has grown but I still think she has a lot more growing to do cuz when it comes to the J thing she’s still nowhere near the front this is to pay homage to the divine nine black fraternities and sororities that originate at
HBCU so you have to do it right cuz they G to tell something you don’t so you have one two so remember I told you it’s like a eight like you have to look like a eight that’s what they the alpha are known for 6 7 and uh one 2 three and
Four five this really is the biggest game of the season it’s a huge rivalry for the with the football team so you would think the girls would want to just come in and just show out so I’m hoping that will help motivate them then the omegas and when you do the Omega step

That’ll put me close to 50 that’ll make me at 20 years being who could do something for 20 years straight but you created a legacy and you just going to let it go look how many people you influence to become like Miss Young Byron you ain’t GNA miss
It I I find that hard to no I’m not saying I’m not g to miss it at all but like I’ll get over it I find something else to get into Miss KRA I don’t want to do this forever it doesn’t have to be forever how long think I’m going to do
This [ __ ] what you want I want to have my company travel the world I want to do stuff like that I want to get into like motion pictures I want to do something else I don’t want to do this forever I don’t know within the next 5
Years if I’ll still be the director of the g girls I don’t feel like I’ve reached even the Pinnacle of what I’m supposed to be doing because I’m not where I feel like I should be I love dance I love the art of it I love the smell of the studio I love
Everything about it but I’m walking so that the Next Generation can run I began dancing when I was 3 years old at that time when I was growing up for parents to be super supportive of their daughters takeing dance on as as a profession that wasn’t something that mothers
Did but she knew that it it was my passion and so she supported 150% Miami Northwest and Senior High School is where I feel like my talent was really cultivated I was a very focused young lady but going to Florida State University that was like a culture shock
For me I got thrown into a program where I was one of 10 out of 100 dance Majors who were African-American and then on top of that I was the most chocolate dancer in the program ramp you have to work that much harder than everybody else you have to be that
Much more technical you have to have that much more personality just to kind of get the job and every dancer’s dream back in the ’90s and the 2000s was to be in a dance company so me and my friends we decided to drive to New York to audition for
Alvin ay we go to the audition and instantly I was cut like the first round I was devastated I had no plan B and I got a phone call about teaching at Northwestern and I was like oh my God that’s my high school so that’s how I got into
Teaching although I was like teaching students right here in Liberty City it was that much more important for me to find a studio right here as Well so I started my company in 2004 because I wanted something that years and years to come that it would still resonate in the community and you know I would make a difference in the lives of young People high school middle school like I spent all my hours with Mrs Yar I literally was seeing her more than I seen my mom Mama T with all of her knowledge and experience she could have went anywhere to do anything but the fact that she came back to where she came from Liberty
City it meant a lot to a lot of girls like myself she understood because she was already there she understood what was at the end of the Rope if we just kept pushing I think this lady doesn’t sleep she’s in the city of Miami right in the
Heart of the city right in the Urban Court impacting young people from age four and five all the way to their 20s she really has a care and compassion for Liberty City and people that look like her that grew up with some of the challenges that she faces Liberty City needs every hand
Every heart everyone who really says that they love them to show it little girls who see that feel that if they can do it I can do it if they see someone oh you like me you look like me you walk like me you talk
Like me you listen to the same music as me but you’re here up here I can be there too she’s charging little or nothing but the quality you can’t get that quality anywhere you’re getting the whole experience like the AL a show it’s the same production if she was not here and
We did not have this studio we wouldn’t have a place to call home without her on honestly I don’t know where we would be I honestly can’t say the number of lives that she’s there keeping us so busy doing shows doing videos concerts she created a world solely for us to just be
Children and to grow and artists that’s It [Applause] [Applause] Everybody in their mama is going to be at this game tomorrow everybody and I’m not trying to scare you I’m trying to prepare you it’s a big goddamn deal you can’t stumble because your team is judged by your weakest person this is a game that everybody looks forward
To kids at the school kids away from the school parents so I can’t walk away when even when I feel like I need to mentally but I’m hoping that this week because it’s such a huge game that they would just you know step up to the plate everything can’t be super soft it
Can’t be like that reads here it reads in a theater but in the stadium that’s not going to read so it have to have some kind of dynamic changes some texture it got to be like P so maybe this is hard and smooth but it can’t be
