Bunch like being in Acappella for a while you know um everyone you know tell your friends about it back home and they have this preconceived notion of what what Acappella is in college uh Pitch Perfect obviously is responsible for a lot of that um but even shows like the
Office where they they parody and spoof like you know Andy’s Acappella group and make him seem like a bunch of nerds which we are not um and I even actually remember listening to a podcast where they were like debating the merits of if AC capella could be considered a cult um
So I think from the outside a lot of people don’t really know what’s going on so uh I was just going to go down the line here and if you have any ideas of like what is definitely true about the Acappella stereotypes and hanani you’ve
Been in two groups at R so maybe you have some insight and what is definitely like untrue like the weirdest thing you’ve heard um cult takes a cake for sure that’s um but in both groups like we do just like randomly burst out in the song that is that is genuinely something that
Happens I think it’s really fun um but yeah C why cult that’s crazy to me yeah it was all based on like the Learned experience of like one of the hosts boyfriends and so it was very anecdotal and like none of it really resonated with me personally they were saying like
If you get into one group you can never join another on campus and there’s like secret stuff that you can’t talk about ever like behind locking key I Don’t Know Jack what about you um well I think oh hold on yes I know this Wing is really good this is
Honestly I’m going to note this for later this is so tasty that’s so good oh yeah oh my go I hope we have to re-record this one um yeah um no it’s funny because um I’ll be talk to my friends about you know my day and my day consists of AC
Capella things sometimes um better yeah and um I’ll be talking to them and I like have to stop myself because it sounds like I’m explaining the plot to a Hallmark movie about Acappella or like the the Pitch Perfect film it’s I just have to stop myself it’s too
Embarrassing so you know I can say you know it’s not like pitch perfect but it sounds like Pitch Perfect you know what I’m saying yeah mat what about you uh I would say for me a lot of the conversation I conversations that I’ve heard have been like kind of like people
Consider uh College Acappella like the high school like the college version of like theater kids in high school how like it’s just mostly consisted of obsessive people like of like of music and stuff I would say there’s more people that are considered on the normal scale of like people in college that are
Just wanting to hang out with friends and like just be around people like that like music and all that yeah I think it’s it’s totally it’s just like finding where you belong yeah and my experience RT was really great with that but obviously you know with you guys in a

Good um so my question for you based based on that is if this upcoming apbeat album was a fish what type of fish would it be probably a tiger musky a tiger musky yes so the reason I say that is um it’s like so the tiger musky is like a very
Rare fish um it’s kind of between um like a Musky and like a a northern TIG right I mean and so the reason they call it a tiger musky is because of the lines that it has on on its on its scales um so I think kind of like the uniqueness

Group for a semester now so your second semester um in short what does apat mean to you what do your experience been so far honestly if I had to describe AP in one word I think I’d say probably Unity like we’re we’re all we’re all really like brothers here like it’s it it’s
It’s nothing it’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced like even being even doing like singing for I’d say like I think six years now before before apat nothing’s been even comparable to this like it’s it’s genuine passion and like a lot of us share share common interest
So like all of us are friends and we do St we do stuff Beyond capella that like really like tightens the uh the bond totally that was an incredible answer uh why don’t we in unison eat this Wing sure um this is a green chili damn tastes good thank you Troy
For the extra sauce um no that was a great answer and you know obviously being in Alum I I totally that answer resonates with me I have the same experience and I’m glad you know almost 10 years later people are doing the same thing Alex so as a third year now what
Would you add to that you can’t say Unis you can’t say Unity I’d say passionate I think that’s um a pretty I guess common answer but I think it really represents everyone that’s in this group um you know four rehearsals a week two hours you know that’s a commitment for sure yeah you
Know being super dedicated to you know this unified you unified passion that we all have of singing um this is actually my last semester um with the group oh I’m graduating the spring um very unfortunate um I mean congratulations but also un congratulations yeah but
Yeah um I’m also going to miss the group because of how passionate everyone is about um singing yeah we always to say that it’s like it’s a little different from a fraternity and don’t at me about that [ __ ] um but like there’s a shared purpose and like you’re you know it’s
Not just like people looking for something to do and all join this fraternity like we all love making music and love making it together and want to be you know want to make an album or want to sound the best we can or want to
You know have a lot of fun and and joining together to do that is is really um what drives you to to you know go to those for rehearsals a week plus performances plus you know learning your part outside if you do that Quincy so this is your fifth year you’ve done a
Lot of things in the group you’ve been the president you’ve done iccas correct and now you’re recording an album so hearing these two answers with Alec on the tail end of his AP career and Cameron on the beginning um like you want to just reflect on their answers
And how how how AP makes you feel yeah no I agree with everything that they said um you know coming into the group as like a first year um it felt like everyone was super passionate everyone had like same goal and uh you know that’s that’s at least like what I felt
Like you know I’m like if I want to join an AR capella group I want to join like guys who also want to go after something and I guess that’s something I was really looking for um but also like with the Brotherhood and um being able to
Like you know have people that you can always come to and talk to and all that um I’ve been able to like see so many guys come in the group and then leave the group and stuff so yeah it’s been a lot it’s been a great experience um so I
Guess lucky for me I get one extra year I get the sixth year now so great that would be great but it’s almost a new record for someone who graduates looking at you Rick um I think Scott Scott might have the record really I’m tied tied for
The record okay we gotta keep the official tally keep the official tally but that yeah that’s great and and obviously with the 35th Anniversary Concert we just had and there was you know like 30 or 40 Alum there you know it’s it’s meant the same thing for or a
Similar thing for a lot of people and I know it’s great to see um to look back and see you know it’s still doing that serving that function for the for the new people for the old people and for people who are very old like myself and
Others um cool so that what you guys think of the wing honestly I it didn’t I didn’t taste anything like didn’t taste anything I tasted chicken but like not I think it’s more like it seems like it’s like it’s like a reaction kind of thing like I like I’m having like now
That I’m having like now it’s like do like in in my body like it’s like now my body’s responding to it like I I feel the heat now rather than while I was eating it I don’t know it’s weird I don’t understand that I thought it was
Less spicy than the previous one yeah cuz you were just here for three yeah no it’s a little it’s like sweeter definitely not as sweet as three um I don’t know if four for is correct you know they talk about creating this like up and down this like Symphony of heat

Um pending legal clearance pending legal clearance of course um not officially on the track list but officially on the track list at the same time um my lips are burning a little bit both um but uh yeah so it’s like the whole theme of that song is like don’t you come back
For me like leave me alone you get out of my life there’s like other songs that are happier um there’s Masterpiece by Tory Kelly um and that one’s like um you’re my masterpiece aren’t you my masterpiece and it’s amazing and a lot of the songs have that second person
Kind of feel of them gotcha so it’s kind of like taking the The Listener on like an emotional Journey yeah where they can listen to the lyrics Listen to the arrangements and like feel part of the what you’re trying to get across yeah yeah totally
Up by this so um the next question on this card is for you John I think it’s good timing um how is this album going to be different um both like emotionally sonically whatever you from from the albums that eight beats already released so we had polariz um two albums ago
Identity was the most recent album some older ones yeah um yeah I I definitely think um this album is definitely going to have um some I mean there’s always been interesting like Arrangements in the past but I think this we’re going to be having um kind of a wide uh variety
Of things we have some that are professionally done we have some who are completed by aot ni some who are done by again our beautiful MD here you know um I agree um and we’re GNA have uh we have some amazing um VP especially on this
Album uh with hanani um coming in and popping off again the mdro keep having to to Hype him up um with this album um we’ve kind of like dived into a genre that we haven’t really explored before you know we’re doing some R&B um and we’re doing some um you know some songs
That I’m more touchy feely um sorry something is hopefully going to make the um the listener kind of experience something that they haven’t really felt before from some of the other albums you know my tongue’s numb it’s uh I’m looking forward to I’m also looking forward to you doing Wing
