Announcement and reminder this episode 100 I don’t know if Y episode 100 we in the building 100 episode 100 them things yeah uh we’ve been in the game we here to stay uh so yeah I never thought honestly that we’d make it this far to
Be totally honest with you but we we had aund them things uh dedication from all of us you know all the challenges that we had in the beginning getting set up figuring out how to do it figuring out what what’s best best for us finding our
Lane all that type of stuff um so we we here man I’m I’m glad to be on the journey with y’all uh 100 is a big milestone so I’m in here yeah man we here we made it 100 trials tribulations but yeah we plugging away and we doing
What we do so we like Mel stated you know Finding Your Niche um being able to engage with the audience appropriately but also talk about sound topics that all can benefit from this is an inclusive podcast it is inclusive so yeah against my will uh hey it’s
Inclusive but that’s what a barber shop is you know it it brings people from different perspectives right they do for one for one thing and that’s interaction interaction yeah hopefully some understanding you I mean that’s why I don’t I don’t rob it of the the barbershop experience I’m just saying
Against my will you know what I’m saying any environment sometimes you have to remove yourself from and see it from somebody else exactly so I’m practicing you know what I’m saying if what would be your will though remember I just my thoughts on inclusion I just don’t think that
Everything is for everybody I just think that certain spaces don’t necessarily need to practice inclusion and it is what it is so I think I think certain things I think certain things I’m fine with that uh I just think that certain areas don’t necessarily need to be inclusive and that should be what
What areas in the the land of the free home of the brave would you consider not inclusive in any at this day and age uh that shouldn’t be it no that aren’t currently because you said create a space that’s not inclusive so what spaces are not inclusive I can give you
One off top what fraternities and sororities they are exclusive that’s not true they’re inclusive well that’s not as far as like membership goes not any or everybody can get into I don’t know if you’ve been seeing some membership that has been taking place in these organizations but there’s
A lot of any and everybody that has been joining and I’m not just talking about Alpha specifically just across the Divine n correct any and everybody kind of has Jo anybody who can afford it almost seems like is absolutely um admitted yeah so I don’t think that’s a good example of non-inclusive environment
Those are very inclusive very uh very very inclusive and more whites are starting to join Divine n organization true as well I seen so it’s definitely an inclusive environment uh there’s a uh my wife was showing me a girl going viral doing uh Zeta dances and stuff like that
White girl doing Zeta um well they’ve historically been known to um have nine black members join so yeah that is a fact yeah it’s news to me yeah no that that’s actually one that you would see more frequently than some of the other sororities to be frank but yeah uh but
Speaking of areas that I don’t think are inclusive uh right now I really don’t know if there’s any that I can name off the top of my head because I feel like everybody is just so focused on wanting to feel like they’re part of the Dei movement and they’re providing inclusive
Spaces for others um sometimes I’ve I feel like it’s a reach in there most people I’m not let me not generalize I’ll just use my own lens in this instance and uh growth we’re learning we’re learning I can’t because I can’t speak for those people I can’t speak for why they doing
What they doing so in that particular instance so I’m going just say my opinion is that people are doing that so that they don’t seem to be the odd men out on the diversity of equity inclusion situation okay yeah that’s true because if you if you are the odd man in that
Situation then everyone looks at you canceling you cancel culture people don’t want to work with you everyone feels like area needs to be inclusive da d d da so I hate cancel culture bro it’s not real but it’s just depend well depending on who you are well let me say
This I hate that we at one point all bought into it I think people still buy into it people still buy into it the the issue is that instead of and that’s the the beauty of when uh when you can come together with difference and find understanding that’s what the beauty of
That is but cancel culture doesn’t create a space to have any understanding it’s like I disagree I’m done with it they did all these hard horrible things whatever whatever but instead of having a dialogue to understand we’ve gotten rid of that as a as a people and that’s
What the sad part is cuz we can have differences we can agree to disagree whatever but you know what I mean we don’t have to be U well I you know cancel individuals or things Etc and that’s the problem with councel culture is it it says we want to be inclusive
But then it’s not inclusive it’s the opposite of inclusion opposite yeah it’s the complete opposite the delusion of inclusion mhm and people think that agreement is the only way to be an Alli is to be in agreement that’s thing that’s not true because we can 100% disagree and we can be allies and
Something and so I just you know or we can disagree and I can still Advocate I mean I may not have that shared experience or whatever but I can still advocate for what you are kicking because if it benefits you it’s going to benefit the the greater good absolutely
So yeah yeah I got I got I got family members who uh still have live a life of crime don’t agree with them yeah love them the life yeah that’s what it is love them to life and just because I love what kind of crime see that that’s
Dry snitching I’m I’m just asking I’m just have they been booked for or not CU if they already been booked it ain’t dry snitching uh got a couple family members been booked for some things so they booked it ain’t snitching let’s just say this uh uh if anything ever happened to
Me just be prepared cuz it might be some Shooters on your front on your front doorstep you know what I’m saying but I’mma tell I’m trying to preach to him right now that if something do happen to me hey you ain’t got to do that but I can’t guarantee that’s going to happen
Right you know what I’m saying so that’s what it is we going I forgot where we I forgot where that was headed we started talking about 100 listen T-Mobile part two oh man t-mob if you if you if you’re if you’re checking in with us right now you know I already
Got duped going to T-Mobile the first time left with the internet because I went there to get a phone and I left with the internets as lace as as um put it I walked out with the m in my hand like that so in that story y’all y’all remember I was
So upset that same day I went back to the store and brought it back and returned it and was like hey I don’t want it uh I feel as I feel as though y’all treated me like a number and not a customer a value customer cuzz I you
Know uh Team over bought Sprint but I’ve been in this company since I was 18 that’s that’s 22 years you know what I’m saying show me some respect not to cut off your story but that kills me when people be like I’m a value customer I am
You are a number bro like I really don’t you’re a number you’re a number to me like I don’t care butario your one cell phone agreement ain’t going to kill this company and it ain’t making it neither number in the words of King George one monkey don’t stop they all
Offer and they all offering the same stuff now so it don’t matter who you go with they all offering the same thing but carry on you you carry on so I went back I returned it I said hey take it off my record I don’t want to I know off
My record Jesus my my account take it off all that stuff I don’t have nothing to do with it you know what I’m saying uh cuz I don’t want to get charged for the equipment nor do after the two week thing is over do I want to be Char
Because you you gonna get charged every two weeks so that happened back in February January February I think it was January so we get our bill for the month of March and here I am I got charged for a whole month and a half of
Internets that I did not even use wow so what did I do I I realized this I was uh going to support one of my students and I was at their game and I was like uh T-mobile my bill went up 150 I was like
Wait hold on now 150 yeah and I knew it was going to go up cuz I did eventually get the phone so I understood that so I called up uh T-mobile and they was like sorry sir uh we we did notice that you were charged extra um we’re going to
Give you a credit of $50 I said no ma’am no ma’am because the way that I add up two months times that 50 plus the equipment that y’all still charge me for it’s like and you multiply that times two that’s $116,000 y’all owe me back that’s what I that’s what I came up
Uh and she was like hold on sir I’ll be right back so she came back she said okay uh we not going to give you $50 in credit we’re going to give you $100 in credit I said ma’am y’all owe me a million 23 so she went back she came
Back she was like okay Troy uh Mr Bernett I said you know what no I’m I’m I’m at the store right now I’m about to walk up in there and cuss everybody out she said Mr Bernette Mr Bernette can you please just just come I was like no I’m
Not come cuz y’all took advantage of me and I’m not appreciating it she was like hold on I was like I want to talk to a manager cuz that’s what you told me to do no you told me that you said hey next time we say find a manager we said
Find a decision maker but go ahead but yes I was like I want to talk to your manager right now so she she goes away for maybe like five or 10 minutes and in the midst of it I’m still looking at the bill and I was like I just snapped on
This young girl and I don’t I’m in wrong because while yes her calculation was wrong of how much she owed me back I thought it was times like two or three because of the number of months so I kirked at on her uh thinking that they owe me more
Money but in actuality when the third time she came back to me and they had the corre she had the correct number that should have been it so she gets back on the phone she says Mr Bernett I don’t have a manager I said hey I don’t
Mean to cut you off real quick um but I’m sorry U I was wrong and um I was going to go in the store and cuss everybody out but I’m not going to do that and she was like yes sir yes sir Mr Bernett if you just calm down I
Said I I am I’m calm I am calm right now however I was wrong and I do apologize yes sir Mr brette we’re gonna take care of you so uh they gave me the credit for 150 and I looked at the store cuz I’m in the parking lot
Sething pissed cuz I’m somebody going to get fired today you feel me I’m in the parking lot mad because when I brought it back homeboy was supposed to take it off my account and make sure I don’t get charged two weeks later um but I did get charged for
A month and a half and then I was like you know I called my wife I said babe I just snapped on the lady uh the little young lady at T-Mobile um I’m hungry and I really want to go cuss these people out but I’m
Going to go get me some food cuz I’m I’m hungry I think I’m hangry and I’mma I’mma um I’mma go do that so I went across the street to Waldo’s chicken you got to go get you some wings is good it’s fire got me some wings dipped it dipped the habo uh uh
Habanero into the uh into the ranch I was at peace and I went home you ever had your wife tell a story and the whole time she was telling the you was wondering why is she telling me this right I’m telling you my emotional process and when is this going Melvin
I’m telling you my emotional process this is supposed to be a place a safe a safe space well I was waiting for you to take me on a journey I was waiting for you to take me I did take you on my journey you did Troy that story had no
Plot no middle at no end it had a plot in the middle it had a plot it had That I had a I had a I had a uh a a point of uh Paul’s climax in the middle of the story because of my anger I was about to go cuss out everybody in this store and my question is this though I
Showed you the P if you had if if you had the customer service reper on the phone why did you gas to go to the store cuz I was already out and about and I was down the street okay yes I was down the street uh I was at wake fors M and
The stor is that right down the street from there okay gotcha so you was going to give them Double the Trouble double the trouble and I wanted my account to reflect princip it ain’t about the dollar the principal I’m with you on the I’ve never been a principal that’s the
Reason why I told story that’s my plot okay that’s my plan was to tell a story because it’s a principal matter it’s a principle it ain’t about the money you rubbing off on me I told a story that gave you some gave you some PRS what because I’m fighting for principal now
It really beat a principal it don’t beat a it don’t be the sit you said I’m like a wife who don’t have that story didn’t have no plot middle or end I just want you to know it was a run on story in which you talked about dipping
Wings and habanero and everything like that off for you to ultimately just say that you got your 150 back right I’m glad you got that back I’m glad that you stood on business and got your 15 and you didn’t just accept accept what they you know this is just an example of what
Id be saying where people should just do something from the beginning because the reason you put extra on that situation with that young lady is cuz you remember how you didn’t handle it last time most definitely because didn’t handle it last time now you adding something to it this
Time make up for last time but that’s also how you catch Strays too cuz she ain’t had nothing to do with it do should pul up on wrong you should pulled up on old boy yeah yes and I apologize I said you know what I actually said I am
Feeling uh some type of way from my previous interaction and I’m taking it out on you and I apologize for that that was big you stand up guy and I wanted to say something like hey dude can I can I give you like five stars for our
Interaction cuz you did a great job but she just hung up she would have call all them stayers from me y’all rep the same T-Mobile y’all rep the same smart Tech y’all when I come back but it’s not her fault and I think I mean and you take
That instance and you you apply it to everything in life like when I leave home from work when I leave work to go home I shouldn’t be bringing my home I mean my work to home you know what I’m saying and vice versa I know you said a
Couple times it’s like hey I know you got a life but don’t bring your life here to work you come to work to work yeah and I know sometimes I’ve brought work home and be mad at my wife because of things that went on at the work that’s
Normal well thank you for sharing that part too that was very enlightening y’all don’t care about my feelings we do care about your feelings I’m glad you are Justified and you got your credit and you to return that terrible wi-fi system that you purchased and got the phone so really
It’s your fault it is I mean if you really if you really break it down it’s really your fault it is and also thank y’all for confirming my feelings um and I’m being sarcastic as I’m saying look I’m just okay where will you hoping that we would support you in
This situation why you hoping that I just wanted y’all to be like yeah Troy get mad yeah I think that was somewhat displaced it got lost lost in the story yeah like I am glad that you that you stood up for yourself also celebrate the process that I went through because I
Did I turned up I’m saying that’s what I’m saying I I I was happy that you stood up for yourself turn up and you got yeah a mild turn up it a you weren’t going to cuss nobody out but you said it I would have talk sternly to
Somebody sir this is what you’re going to do exactly ma’am this is I was going to walk in and do what M told me to do I was going to be like hey how’s your day going good all right it’s about to get worse if they don’t exactly what I
Want it’s about to get worse looking like Ray and life where that where that [ __ ] that was doing the uh drinks earlier where that girl that was doing the drinks what girl yeah we’ll see whatever I start choking next time I come up in here that’s what
Girl oh my God but none nonetheless I digress thank y’all for letting me share my T-Mobile story if y’all listen good job Troy clap it up for Troy H episode clap it up for Troy if y’all had a bad cell phone instance uh story something
Like that share it in the in the chat uh on our YouTube page or on our Instagram page we would love to hear what y’all uh experiences are and if you responded like Troy don’t tell us we going roast when you call okay so this is this
Is one of my thing we gonna get to the next one but I need to know this because Verizon do this and it pisses me off to my core when you called and got somebody on customer service were they American did they have a native English accent no they did not
Oh that pisses me off to my core when I call customer service because if I’m calling if I’m calling customer service it’s because I have no other choice like I’m not like most people that just call up the customer service be to complain or whatever like I at least try to go
Through the prop other avenues and figure it out myself first if I call customer service like get on the phone and call somebody I ain’t got no choice cuz I’d rather use the chat system anyway like if I can’t chat or something like that if I’m having an issue the
Last thing I want to be met with when I have an issue is another barrier for getting through my issue if I you get on the phone and English is a second language to you we can’t even communicate directly because you trying to you know get through your I don’t
Even know the ter the language they used to use for for teaching it if you can’t talk to me natively like that it’s going to piss me off sounds pretty Prejudice it’s not Prejudice bro that is not prejudice I didn’t put a name or race or
Nothing on the on the on speak American what the what is American I said English I said were they American you said were they American were they American but other people speak English other people speak I said were they American that was the first thing that that was the first
Thing I and then he no he he said it was English their is English their first second language I said were they American you on the phone how do you determine if somebody is American if that accent is really really like you are we going to sit here say there’s no
American accent I’m just asking I’m asking how do you know that I I get all right so so we won’t be considered Prejudice because it might be certain certain certain uh certain group of people that we may be referring to but I I I’ll just put it like this so the Bob
Marley movie came out not too long ago right A couple of my friends would to go see it and they was like man it was really good I couldn’t understand what they was saying because of the Jamaican accent Rich accent that rich accents and they speaking English it was so was so
Thi and it’s it’s hard for me to understand English nowadays y’all know I watch TV with the closed captions on you know so I’m just asking how do you determine that I was just Cur I’m just curious I I’m just curious just curious how do you determin that there is listen
There is an American ACC listen there is an American accent and if you are and if you are and if you are native born American what’s an American if you are native born American it is very unlikely that you’re going to have an accent that is descending from another country okay
Okay if you’re a native born American Native born got you let’s just say very unlikely uhhuh don’t play don’t play with me bro you talking about how can you tell an American exit I’m just asking the question I’m just asking the question and even some American accents are very are kind of
Hard to understand like the it’s which is funny because I grew up country but some country nowadays it’s hard for me to understand when they’re trying to when they’re trying to interact with me so like my cousin who’s extremely country I’m like hey bro run that back
One more time because I didn’t catch what you just said he said oh I’m F to go to the store oh got you okay got you okay that’s what’s up there are language barriers out there I’m not saying that they are not I just wanted I asked the
Question La trying to make me sounde that’s what he tried to do that’s what he asking that’s what he asking he know exactly what I’m talking about I’m just like I said he he know that he’s done call customer service before and that accent come on and his mind he
Be like all right this might take a little bit longer than I was hope I don’t call I really don’t call customer service so yeah see don’t he never does nothing he don’t call this why you can’t have conversations with lace bro he don’t call Custom Service he don’t call
Customer service he don’t deal with nothing he he never had a drought never had a drought never had a drought that’s a fact that’s a fact that’s a fact I just want to know what American sound like I just want you that’s what it sound like you me sound like you know
What I mean that’s all he knew what the hell I was he knew what you was talking about just wanted to know you know what I’m saying so I’m curious guys uh some new things have been uh some things have been happening in uh in society and uh
Want I want to introduce uh a new segment um what’s hot and what’s not hot and not what’s hot and not and uh we haven’t had a chance to talk about this because we’ve been talking about other topics but some things have dropped uh specifically in the music realm in the
Music realm uh brother Kanye along with um uh tyd dollar and uh some I forgot who else was the third person just dropped the album um and uh Melvin has already given his opinion that it’s trash was trash I kind of liked it I was disappointed why so
Uh you know how you fall in love with an artist because of how they show up on the scene yes and then they start to straight further further away from what you you know like them for that’s how I feel that’s where I feel about Kanye
Right now so I was just disappointed in the album because I keep hoping to get the OA and I keep getting this hodge podge of you know so is that more of a him thing or a you thing because you obviously probably not going to get that
Anymore um but you still hope that you I think it’s a mix of both I think it’s a mix both um because let me say it this way a lot of the stuff that he be posting as Snippets of the coming album don’t be what the album is by the time
The album comes out so then even you get excited about the the Snippets you be like oh this this sound just like you know old yay or whatever so you get excited like oh this if this what we talking about and then he drop it and it’s 3,000 playing
Flutes you be like n all right shout out to 3,000 Three Stacks no that I was disappointed a flus yeah it’s it’s funny you say that because the moment I heard it I was like oh this is more artistic than it is hip-hop yeah um and then I
Had the when I when I realized that my brain switched and I was like all right so artistically this is good but hip-hop what I’m expecting what I’m Desiring of Kanye for him spit bars is not so much because he was uh from what I caught
From the album he was more interested in the sound how it sounded the transitions the beats and stuff like that the Beats was fire can you at least say that the Beast was straight mm the Beast was fire um but it did not give what I wanted it
To give gotta yeah um one thing about the project though is the cover it’s like bro his he’s he’s displaying his wife have you seen it he’s displaying his wife uh butt naked with a piece of paper covered in the back of a a crack I
Couldn’t exploit my wife like that yo I couldn’t do that my wife used to send me um uh Kadeem and uh Deval is that is that their names she used to send me their uh their their little skits that she they used to do on Instagram she used to send
Them to me and I was like hey you you can’t send these to me no more she was like why it’s funny I was like yeah but they are obviously exploiting her butt cheeks on every last one of these so basically babe you sending me butt
Cheeks every time every time you send me a DM and she was like you know what I never saw it like that I was like yeah it’s it’s just butt cheeks and so I can’t I I can’t you can’t be sending them to me mhm you see how Troy got ahead of that
Yeah he did he what I do he did yeah what I do what I do what I do he did he tried to get ahead of that I just I don’t want you to think these butt cheeks are not pleased no I it’s the truth it’s my truth I see you got ahead
Of it she what you mean I got ahead of it I told her to stop sending me kademan devout videos CU it’s got butt cheeks in it and I’m looking not looking at the video for what you sent to me for I’m looking at the cheeks cheeks yeah which
Is the whole point of the video right it’s the whole point right which my wife didn’t see cuz she’s SE seeing everything through a innocent Angel lens you know what I’m saying she’s just thinking it’s a couple interacting and stuff like that I’m like no babe there
That’s butt cheeks mhm well don’t ask lace you know how lace lace feel what how do I feel you don’t care all in all in how you that’s all water under the bridge he don’t care all in how you view it Le don’t care but that’s based upon
Some of your experience that you shared with listeners in the past as to why you don’t want that so that’s his experience I don’t share that experience that’s what I’m saying but I can he trying to ask you what you think I can understand but I can understand because you don’t
Want to get tripped up in any way don’t want to get so I feel that see that’s it was a two look at it from a different lens not generaliz it was a two from a different lens it was a two-parter uh he was trying set up the conversation I
Know where he was doing with this conversation slightly it was about the butt cheeks the sending of the butt cheeks but it was more so about him not being able to see himself or other husbands exploiting their wife that way sense that’s what he was going with so I
Say you can’t ask lace because you already know how he feel about [Laughter] it about about the Desiring I mean the Willing no he just don’t care it wouldn’t be a thing like okay it’s just butt cheeks that would be lac’s thought it’s just whatever it’s just you know
Who cares this a thong his butt cheeks who I mean I don’t look at it the way you look at it that would be his viewpoints but you was trying to lead him there I was Fool’s ering yeah yeah I won’t take that’s a Fool’s eron he take
The DAT I don’t he don’t care yeah um so that’s Kanye anything else to uh y’all got on that yeah album just wasn’t I mean like you said it wasn’t your excuse me typical hip-hop album don’t D so no I’m good I’m good um your typical hip-hop album so it was
Definitely artistic and I think we’re seeing a lot of that from artists these days getting into more the artistic side rather than the essence of the music so that’s why I was a big fan of that Benny The Butcher that came out did y’all listen to that that was tough yeah that
Was tough that joint is tough yeah yeah it’s tough I’ve been a Benny fan though Benny came out with them bars on that joint I let I let my wife listen to the uh the song um trust is more valuable than love and uh the one part where um
She was listening to it it was talking about how two brothers was was talking to this one girl but they didn’t know the one brother had a baby bar but the other brother was a thug and he didn’t know his brother was his brother I guess
He killed the baby and the and the um and the son not knowing that he killed his brother and his nephew my wife was like why did you play that for me I was like babe cuz this is hip hop mhm and this is what
This is real she s you but she you sent her death right death RS man so we I guess diabolical I’m trying to figure out how to treat women better one one day at a time one day at a time day one day at a time um did y’all like the did
Y’all check out the new Vince Staples yes the show yes yes yes yeah I watched a few episodes I watched the episodes and I was like if this is not Melvin Brown III in all of his everything thing with a TV show did you see yourself in that
Show some parts of it I can see myself Vince Staples might be your kin folk I think we have a lot of similarities have a lot of yeah my man don’t hold back they you see where it got him he don’t hold back at all I thought it was
Really good uh really uh Atlanta esque yeah um and um I with a Cali feel Atlanta C field yes he was like what what’s going on over there C like I love that man um cuz you know I’ve been a [ __ ] my whole life you feel me you know what I’m
Saying word yeah I’ve been a [ __ ] my whole life interesting past the [ __ ] Pastor [ __ ] you Pastor [ __ ] bro yes BMF right Snoop Dog was actually was actually my uh was my influence I’m sure I’ve always wanted to be a [ __ ] since since L was a [ __ ] wow yeah that says a
Whole lot about you sir I ain’t had no father okay how many times we got to keep saying this on the show I ain’t have no father no male figures to follow after as a child CRA that’s crazy wow but no good show definitely good show
Yeah I think it picks up where uh Atlanta uh dropped off um in the season prior to their last season because Atlanta’s last season was TR further away from what we liked it for but he was funny in Abbott Elementary too yeah when he was on that Staples was in
Abbott a little while heod he was dating Janine oh I gotta I gotta pick back up yeah he was fun on AB Elementary U for sure but uh I can’t remember where I saw it but I he said something when people were comparing the show to Atlanta and
He said something like it’s nowhere near close like nowhere near the same or something like that he was trying to explain why they were different but uh I think it was like the dry humor aspect of it yes that and the videography and stuff the Cinematic part of it is what
Made people like oh this feels like Atlanta because of some of the you know similar tone and stuff like that but I I definitely felt like there were hints hints of Atlanta like the style of it uh like a pinch of Abbot Elementary was was
In there as well but he referenced it in some way too yeah um at the beginning um cuz I think they was like why you back home or something like that and he was talking about how he was out in Philly or something of that nature but yeah
Yeah yeah there was also I feel like a pinching like insecure in there as well just oh so it was like a a nice little mash up of you know all those shows so I bang with it they only had I think six episodes or something like that so
Hopefully yeah uh they get renewed for season two there’s just more to it it’s funny that he says it’s nothing like uh Atlanta but the very first episode was about him being in jail and we all know that’s what I mean it’s like when you think you so uniquely
Different yeah but you you know a lot similar to someone it’s just it’s just what tends to happen but it’s you know it’s cool but my favorite show my favorite episode was the uh bank robbery episode oh yeah that was and that sold me right there um that sold me right
There cuz I I really thought that they was going to I don’t want to spoil it I mean it’s been out for it’s been out long enough been long watch it go watch it uh go watch it but I really thought they was gonna get out because I was
Like this is great interaction and I was like n they ain’t going to make it yeah they ain’t going to make it it was a it was it was a setup but Netflix you did a good job did a good job on this one uh especially how y’all dropped the ball on
Uh the 85 South 8 85 South uh production production um well speaking of that a lot of comedians have had some trash Productions on Netflix was terrible terrible D which Mike apps the latest the one that uh uh I’m GNA sell out yeah yeah y’all didn’t like that Jo that was
Terrible the jokes won’t good or none of it was good Mike AB used to be one of of my favorite comedians when I was younger um one of my favorite and I just feel like his last like few sets he’s just telling the same jokes yeah was and like
It’s one thing it’s one thing to have a and I know comedians have sets but your set usually changes when you got a new special coming like this set’s not supposed to be the same as my last set B I feel like his last three specials have
All been the same series of jokes that he’s been telling for the last 10 years not good even when we went to uh the Bojangles for the uh the the tour with DC and Carlos and Mike F was on that tour too same jokes from that from that
Thing I’m like he just telling the same jokes now see I didn’t see uh Indiana Mike and um I forgot the other one he was wearing red I didn’t see those so I couldn’t the last one that I really tapped into was um underrated now that joint was hilarious we talking about how
Um he said he did repeat a joke was uh in in uh from that one to this one where he was talking about how he got caught cheating while he was sleeping and his wife wakes him up like who is this call the be and he was talking to her on the
Phone he was like uh yeah you messing up you messing up my life quit calling me all right talk to her right you’re trying to you’re trying to keep some hope I that was a repeat but uh I hadn’t seen it since then so I couldn’t really
Compare it to the other two that y two mentioned but I thought I thought it was pretty good yeah no it was terrible terrible y’all see the Don Rollins terrible his J won’t bad it won’t bad but it Wason good either but I mean you got to think he’s not the upper Epsilon
Like we would put a Mike EPS or something like that so this was like his first legit special special so for me it’s he’s taking a The Next Step whereas Mike EPS you already expect a certain product yeah that’s true so that’s why I thought his was was uh was good but
Really the Tracy Morgan joint that dropped a while ago was was funny that was that was fun I didn’t see the Tracy Morgan yeah you got you got to catch that that was funny that was funny I’m GNA check out the Tracy Morgan what’s another standup that I’ve seen on on uh
Netflix actually you a lot of comedians have been dropping that joint on YouTube they like just bypassing the whole Netflix route because Netflix won’t even um like for some comedians they’ll ask uh they ask them to cut out jokes and stuff like that like no we not
Going to do that and I think that’s what happened with uh 85 South yeah had to have that was terrible they was like for the sake of being on Netflix let us sacrifice some jokes and they shouldn’t have did yeah so Netflix you did well in the in
The TV show arena but on a on a comedies joint y’all can uh y’all need to step it up Sister Step It Up Step It Up sister Beyonce yeah dropped uh she’s about to drop uh or she has dropped part two of par uh country contributions um I kind of like them I
Kind of like the songs and I don’t even I’m not a Beyonce fan fan like a beehive but I actually kind of liked it her her country joints but you would say they not even country traditional lens of country no I don’t think that they would fit in the
Country bag um well that has changed anyway I think it’s trendy you know just trying something new like said before like maybe artists have gotten to a point where they feel like they’ve exhausted a certain Lane so they want to experiment with something new and I
Think that’s where she is with this you know country album type situation so in the like actual lens of country I just don’t think it’s traditional country music could it be consider just because you got a honky tonk bu behind don’t make it country music um so I’m not again I don’t think
I’m Beyonce’s demo so I don’t think I’d be the right person to really critique or give opinion about Beyonce’s music because I don’t really listen to it to begin with you know anyway I thought you had tickets to the last tour when they came to um the
Spectrum Cent I got tickets for the girls to go do their thing because that’s who I think demo is young women and feminists and women empowerment and stuff like that I don’t think that the music is for me name he laughing like that’s an outlandish statement Beyonce makes music to empower women feminist
Though like a lot of people listen is at the Forefront of the feminist movement she’s one of the main pillars what are you talking about I’m just saying though like a lot of people do listen to Beyonce you ain’t you ain’t Rock uh Destiny’s Child back in the day Beyonce
Well no he’s talking about like the new Beyonce I understand that I’m just saying like it was just the way that he the phraseology was funny to me so that’s why I chuckled Beyonce has a large feminist audience I understand that okay so why you laughing like
Saying something out of I’m a feminist so I support it but why you saying it like I’m say the way you said it it was just the way you said it that’s all I don’t think he expected you to say it and that’s reason why he laughed no
He said it he laughing on like some misogynistic type no not I’m not I was not I really was not it was just the way that you went down this what you perceive her demographic to be that’s what was funny all I said was women’s empowerment and feminism
Feminists right what I’m saying is men can be feminist too right if that’s what y’all want to call it if that if that’s what you want to call it I’m just asking if that’s what you want to call I’m just asking I’m just asking that’s
All I do is I just ask questions bro that’s all I do I just ask questions but isn’t she doing like the exact same thing that kany is doing though what in the sense of um changing her changing her uh sound her style her approach her delivery to reach a new
Audience I mean I don’t I can’t speak for what she’s doing um I think again that she’s like most artists who maybe get to a certain point where they feel like they’ve reached the Pinnacle of where they are and want to try something different you know what I’m saying a lot
Of rappers have done that you know they get to a certain stage and they’re like oh uh like the ti for example the Jeezy’s they like why wrapped enough about Coke and drugs let me start rapping about this business let me rap about something different let me try a
Different lane or different tone so I think you know she’s in that same space she’s dominated R&B music for women you know she’s been at the Forefront of that for God knows how long most Grammy decorated person to ever to live so what do I do now try country do something
Different so maybe she’s just trying something different I don’t think she’s necessarily trying to gain a new artist uh audience cuz if you just you know know about music listen to music at all it’s kind of hard not to know who Beyonce is at this point so I don’t
Think that she’s trying to get a new audience of people I think she’s just trying something different well what’s interesting is that uh black and brown folks have been at the Forefront of all genres of music and it’s always funny to me when people be like well why is
Beyonce going to do country at this point whatever honestly we were at the core of that from rip country rock and roll however you want to shape it frame it whatever so I just encourage people to understand your history when it comes to this music game because
We’ve been in the mix in every aspect of it along the way um so that’s what was interesting to me about it she don’t have to do uh go into a new Lane I mean she be onet you know what I’m saying but it for individuals to say that oh this
Is somewhat new for her yes the concept is new but as far as us being ingrained in that type of music it’s been from rip I can see you in a cowboy hat and some boots bro doing The Jig oh yeah Melvin he an excellent line dancer so
You know he would do it you know he would do it you know what I’m saying I can see you I would probably not wear cowboy boots and a cowboy hat why if I was in the environment maybe Indiana you y’ they wear that out there oh no why not what
Indiana I’ve seen cats from Indiana where cowboy boots in if you have a farm I’m just saying you have a farm what’s the problem though what you mean what’s the problem it ain’t a problem to wear cowboy boots in hat you talking about M you MW here’s the thing I
Don’t what’s the best way for me to describe it I know that sometimes we as people were just enjoying the moment we go to a different place and we like oh we here so when in Rome let me whatever I tend to still take me with me wherever I go
So I’m not going to put on cowboy boots in a cowboy hat just cuz I may be in a deep part of textes and everybody doing line dances I’ll probably still be out there in my J’s whatever Snapback and do the line dance with to some degree I just feel
Like there are several ways appropriate a culture and you don’t have to be you know what I’m saying I know we just lean to white people about appropriate culture you can be black and appropriate somebody else’s to me so I don’t think that I would do that because I would
Feel like I’m just putting on a costume so I’m saying that I don’t think that I’d be rocking a cowboy hat I can see you boots I can definitely see I could do it I’m just saying I don’t know if it I can see doing what are some ways in
Which black people have appropriated culture I mean if you look at just think about graduation everybody got a k store yeah has don’t know what K store is the origination none of that so that’s an aspect of cultural appropriation it’s not a not because I know it’s popular
But legit think about it so that’s actually a good point so uh the last day of Black History Month I decided to wear a um uh a k style t-shirt oh my God you I’m saying to work to work yeah yeah I yeah so I was about to walk into what you
Looking at you like yeah the same got tricked in the internet now he just I was like all right I’m I’m I’mma wear this joint uh um and then I I pulled up to the job and I was like before I walk up in this spot let me be
Educated on what I’m actually wearing and that’s the right there and you have it because I knew exactly what was going to happen uh somebody was going to ask me about it and I was going to be dumbfounded I was like it’s it’s it’s African but I know was made by somewhere
In someone Vietnam made in Vietnam the history the the history behind so uh I did a quick I did a quick uh Google search the history behind it is actually the prince came from Hollow mhm and they were doing trade with uh with Africans um back in the day and
What happened is they would bring the prince over the Africans LED them and they adopted it um as far as being like a a African type style and so then what once Africans uh adopted it and took they made it their own they started putting stories behind each um each
Design that they that they made and so uh I thought that was thought that was uh a pretty dope and um and knowing that that that’s where that history comes from gotta know your history gotta know your history yeah got to know your history but yeah that’s an example of
But it’s funny but I’mma tell that wow um the funny thing about it is all the black people was like yeah Wanda forever I was like hey bro first of all that was fictional okay so let’s I don’t mean nothing let’s quit saying wakanda forever we can say Hey you know all
Right my brother something like that you know what I’m saying let’s not let’s not talk about something fictional and apply it to something that’s historical go ahead tell what you g to say all right that’s what that’s what happened with the black people he just gave a shout out and praise to the
Creator of Dragon Ball Z but now black people can’t say wakanda forever to him because it’s fictional and they can’t bond I see what you said there yeah see but this was something real though so you you saying the Dragon Ball Z piece that’s a fictional space period
We can celebrate the fictional spaces when we celebrate the fic you say Black History Month don’t be coming to me with no wakand forever knowing that we ain’t got no vibranium you know what I mean is is that is that what I’m hearing that’s not what I’m trying to say what
You say so why couldn’t they say wakanda forever to you bro because I was like hey I because you something real something T because I because now I know the history behind it you know what I’m saying so cuz you got educated 30 minutes before so cuz he got D 30 minutes before
That conversation he looking now he look you know yeah yeah yeah you up at now my brother do you know the story behind this cloth that I’m wearing right now exactly don’t wakanda forever me yeah that came from Stan Lee the white man maybe they didn’t know what you know
What had just learned 30 minutes ago yeah and it was a great it was a great opportunity could have been a gateway to conversation and it was it was it was a great way for a conversation and which I I did engage so could we have could they
Have just been bonding over the Blackness that wakanda represents although it is fictional now I ain’t going to hold you I did give him the wakanda back but I’m just saying wakanda is representative of something it is it we know it’s not a real place but what it represents yes
African Essence African power African you know what I’m saying so wakanda forever wakanda forever that was the interaction that I had with the black people the white people that I interacted with listen to me the white people I interacted with they didn’t know how to respond so each time
Somebody they be like hey is that is that a new shirt okay that was one response and the other response is oh I like your shirt and this just keep on going like they don’t ask nothing they don’t want to know they don’t want to know no information because they don’t
Want to trick themselves up to seem as though you know what I’m saying they are um not cultural of anyway shap form so why did you wait till last day of black history why didn’t you wear the first day to wear your shirt I was I actually
I was supposed to um but what happened was I didn’t get opportunity to D to I just didn’t get opportunity to DET to I I forgot I had it in my closet until I saw my coworker where his and I was like bro I forgot I got my joint I’mma pull
Mine out so did you Wanda forever the mans that you seen with no I was like bro that’s fire I really like it and I was like oh forgot I got my own joint at the crib let me pull it out I don’t have uh African garbs uh
However I did you I hate y’all I really hate y a a k stole yeah uh at graduation honestly I never even thought about it right I just put it on exactly I didn’t take no thought to it but I should yeah that’s what I’m saying but I just don’t
Like I’m saying like that again another situation just appropriating the culture putting on the clothes just because you in the space like I know a lot lot of us go to us by meeing black people take trips to Dubai and then put on all the clothes and stuff that they wear when
They go over there and I I know they not meaning it from a negative place but it’s like you don’t really know what that that stuff means when you putting it on so in a way you just like appropriating the culture for the time cuz you’re there like you want to have a
Good time you want to feel like you know you’re doing something so you can take the pictures but you don’t really know the true essence of them clothes or what they mean same with African culture people be you know putting on clothes just cuz they going to the wedding so
Then they throw it on yeah yeah you know so well you know you go to by you want to wear the clothes cuz you don’t you want to seem less of a Outsider as you can because the more of an outsider that you appear to be you become more of a
Target for what uh for being taken advantage of one the saf places you can visit for being a tourist or something like that yeah I mean it it’s it’s true but uh and in some of those places they actually they don’t see it as cultural uh appropriation actually is like oh
That’s what’s up you are trying to be like us and we appreciate that but I know like Native Americans you can’t wear the headdress and and the stuff it’s like hey because you didn’t like putting on a costume for Halloween for for them but but for some people
They actually appreciate it so I got kind of lost in this what’s hot and what’s not are we supposed to be ranking these things as hot and not as we go through them uh because we kind of just been talking about them yeah I mean it it gives us opportunity to talk the
Album not the album show hot the uh yeah you said be’s album hot I actually I actually like I listen that’s what I’m saying I didn’t give feminist if you’re feminist I didn’t say I said that that demo I said that she that’s who she makes when she in the studio making
Music she like I hope this is for all the bearded out there in the world she not making that music for y’ it’s for the it’s for the women it ain’t nothing wrong with that she got a demo she trying to empower women and stuff like
That all I’m saying is that we not the demo I enjoy the music is not intended for us that’s all I’m saying inter it’s not why do you always do that do what just because you take appreciation appreciation to something don’t mean that that was the actual intent whatever
All I said was all I said was interesting what did I say wrong no because it’s the sarcastic toone in which you be I’m not being sarcastic this year you are I have not been sarcastic at all I have not been sarcastic at all this has been the manle podcast it’s
