Growing up, I always watched movies and heard stories about Greek life and that college lifestyle. There was a stereotypical outlook on the Greek life community that I always had in the back of my head. That is, until my parents started telling me about their experiences in college. My mom was a sister of Sigma Chi Zeta, a local sorority on campus, and my dad was a brother of Alpha Phi Delta at the same school. They met in Greek life and have shared so many memories in just four short years of college. The friendships and stories they made are everlasting and something that I had always wanted. We are family friends with my dad’s fraternity brothers and the relationship they all still share after all these years as well as the new ones all us kids have are so incredible and something that I longed for.
Greek life was something I knew I wanted and something I was so excited and eager for as soon as I too became a college student. I wanted a home, a sisterhood, and friendships that will last me for much longer than four years. I wanted what my parents had, and I couldn’t wait to make my own stories too. I found everything I needed in Delta Phi Epsilon. Here, I found long lasting friends and have made so many memories that I will keep with me until I’m old. Once I got my bid Spring 2019 of my freshman year, I knew my college life was going to change for the better.
Seeing photos of future sisters made me so excited to finally be able to wear my Greek letters and rep them proudly. Soon enough, I found myself at Something Greek making different color combinations and ordering sets of Greek letters that I would soon be able to wear. I knew I would be back and putting together so many different sorority apparel and sorority clothing. I adored my sisterhood and loved how creative I could be to show how grateful I was for my organization. To this day, two years later, I am still placing orders and making custom combinations. I have been able to put together matching sorority shirts, sorority sweatshirts, and sorority outfits for my sorority kids and they all come out so amazing.
