So if you don’t you brought up hazing you hear about the chapters what nine sometimes it gives you know sororities and fraternities especially a black eye when you hear about those types of things what not how does that make you feel when it’s part of your fraternity
And you see a chapter doing something like that I mean it gives you a black eye and then also what would you say to the mother of a kid who may want to pledge Omega sapphire what not and but she’s afraid oh I want you to go through
The hazing ritual whatever which I know is illegal in 44 to 50 states with that won’t you say someone well pledging and that whole thing is illegal its abolished we don’t play it or we don’t haze it’s in our rituals and our bylaws that we don’t do that we don’t protect
In that also mega sci-fi is taking the steps to put out policies to put our procedures and ongoing training internally for our memberships to understand the sensitivity of it we’re in desperate times different desperate need desperate needs a quality man to be a part of our fraternity and we need to
Keep them safe and so to put them in harm’s way to continue to do acts that may be stereotypical that people hear about are seen in the news we are fraternity Omega sci-fi fraternity has taken the immediate steps to rectify that with suspension with expulsion and also the training the proper training
Through our policies or procedures all right do you just you just went over yeah see you fall 17 yeah so you just are you still in college right now no I just graduate just graduated how have you seen since you joined the fraternity house it benefited your life there’s
Been crazy the networking just having opportunities you know virtually anywhere you go just meeting new people always having a brother to call on to reach out to I really have gotten that brotherly love and seem it’s good to meet under paternity that’s what do we always say it’s like you know don’t be
Afraid something under fraternity and the bond always got your back as long as you put in you know your work you get that same workout you know excessive you reap the benefits and it’s the same thing if you’ve been you reach back or you get called in a favor of somebody
That’s also in your turn off the course even when I graduated I used to go to the Greek picnic every year and so I never pay for a hotel I had no reason to I’m using as an example I’m quite sure you all experience it to young people a
Hotel why would I pay for a hotel if I have yeah he said lean on your fraternity oh you mean to go to their house yes [Laughter] It’s all about those perks may you need some max not even maximized it’s like he said you put in with you that’s correct like I just came back from homecoming this past weekend it was great to see my chapter there we’re celebrating I was about 40 years of being at Central State
University and we had a huge banquet hall it’s just about that that Brotherhood the fellowship and even though like I’m in my profession I’m a lawyer we have doctors we have on teachers it’s all about networking and and you set it very correctly at the end
Of the day I can call anybody who graduated from my my fraternity or not graduated from my chapter and I can reach out to them being what you need so and I’m taking care of I love that a little bit
