Hey everyone welcome back to my channel or welcome to my channel if you’ve never been here before this is Kells tails and I have another sorority video for you guys today’s video we’re going to be talking about international sorority membership like I always do I had to go
In and do some research because like I said I’d know about my sorority but I have to learn about other sororities too because you guys will ask me about other sororities I have to make sure I have my information correct for you guys so the first question is do all the sororities
Offer international membership and the answer is yes I actually had a couple of girlfriends of mine who were part of other organizations who I reached out to because me myself which I think other people might rent in this issue to me personally looking on the National websites trying to find out information
About international membership I personally couldn’t find it so I had to X my girlfriends to get the information from them to see if they actually had international membership and then they pointed me in the right direction on their national website as to where to find it because me looking by myself I
Could not find it so I figured I’d do the hard work and help you guys out and then provide you with the information so let’s start with Alpha Kappa Alpha because they were found at first we’re just gonna do it in order of founding to be fair so with epic Kappa Alpha their
International membership is based off of their regions and this is taken directly from their website it says that they have a maximum of 7 continents where they offer international membership in those continents include Africa Antarctica Asia Australia / Oceania Europe North America and South America and they say that they’ll combine Europe
And Asia sometimes and it says that they offer chapters in three of those continents which include Africa Asia North America they also have several chapters in the Caribbean so anything outside of those areas they consider international and it’s part of the international region now under the international region I couldn’t find
Where where they offer membership but they do offer international membership with Delta Sigma Theta Delta it was a little hard for me I couldn’t find anyone to reach out to for Delta so I basically was doing the research on my own so any of my Delta friends if you
Guys know about your international membership just put them in the comments below help me out because when I was doing it on my own during the research it said that they offered international membership but when you clicked on the areas that they offered it it would say
They have zero chapters there so they might offer it but they just don’t have a chapter there or they might not offer it at all because they don’t actually have a chapter so if any of you guys for a deltas know where you offer membership internationally just put them in the
Comments below so we’ll have that information for everybody because be looking by myself I couldn’t really find much what I did by was I found that they offer membership in such places including Alberta Samoa British Columbia Guam the Bahamas in Canada like I said they could offer a
Membership beyond that or beyond those areas I just didn’t have time to sift through each like city that they said they could have a chapter and find out if you were actually true but this does prove that they do offer memberships internationally so then if I made a same
Thing I had to reach out to a friend because I couldn’t find it on their website but she was really cool she told me that they were actually the first sorority to charter a chapter in Africa specifically in Liberia and Monrovia I hope I’m pronouncing that correctly so
They were actually the first to offer international membership in Africa which is really cool they also offer international membership in the Virgin Islands Jamaica Bahamas Japan Korea Barbados 80 Germany Belgium the UAE Trinidad and Tobago so they offer a lot of membership internationally in those areas and then
Lastly of course you have some a camera super camera I would have to say because speaking not on behalf of my sorority but speaking as a member of the sorority our stuff is so out there in terms of what country is considered part of a specific region so we have a couple of
Regions we have central south east north east south west south like it’s a bunch I’m exaggerating but we have a bunch of regions so if they’re outside of the continents like North America Africa Europe if they’re in those areas they would fall under our region’s according to where they’re located to
Give you an example in central in our central region we include Europe Greenland and the islands which I’m not sure which island is but it just says Island so that’s including our central reason but in our Northeast region we include continents such as Africa we also include countries like Korea
Bermuda in the Canary Islands so it’s kind of weird but you get the gist so and we offer way more than that we have a whole list we have a lot of members internationally so we have a lot of people that we’ve reached out to these
Are just a couple that I want to include for you guys so that was central in northeast in the southeast area we included Puerto Rico Bahamas in South America and southwest region we included Australia Central America Fiji Mexico and New Zealand and in the western region we’ve included Alberta British
Columbia the Soviet Union Asia Japan in China and the little just a couple because we offer way more than that all of these chapters or all of these countries you can find out what region they belong to by going to the international website so you’ll know
Where to find them if you’re looking for them so let’s discuss how to become an international member it’s not as difficult as they think it’s basically a similar process if you were looking to join as a member in any other country to be honest if you’re joining in North America it’s
No different from joining in North America than it would be joining in Europe because it’s the same process so basically all you have to do is find what country is under or find what region your country is under so if you’re from let’s say if you’re from
Guam and you want to join any of these sororities you would just have to find out where la would fall in the region category so that you can reach out to the membership chair in the region if you’re looking to join in that particular region or to find the region
In order to find the chapter that makes sense so to give you a better example if I’m from I’ll be more specific if I’m from London I’ll use Simek emeralds in example if I’m from London and I’m looking to join stim and gamma row as a member if the potential member in London
I would have to go to our national website to find our regions in the regions will list what countries fall under that region so for us if I’m in Europe Europe will fall under the central regions so if we don’t already have a chapter in London I would have to
Follow up with our central Regional Director to find out what chapter is close by that I can join be it undergrad or grad to it I would just have to reach out to the regional director to find out who I would fall under and then you go
To the process of finding out what chapter they belong to and so on and so forth it’s really not that difficult once you find out where you belong the trick is just finding out where you belong because like I said all these sororities offer membership pretty much
Everywhere all over the world so you just have to find out what category you fall under or really what region you fall under in order to get more information about membership it’s not that difficult I think one thing that might be tricky too is if you were an
Exchange student going back to an undergraduate perspective if you were an exchange student looking to join a sorority and say you’re from another country and you’re visiting the United States and you want to join us already I think that process would be a little different for you because of the
Circumstances that you fall under my perspective I think what would happen in that situation is you would still have to go back to the chapter or go back to the region that you belong to according to your country and follow up with the original director as to how you would
Join that way or get someone to do it for you if you’re interested probably have the undergraduate chapter that you’re visiting follow up with their regional director and get further information that way but I don’t think that it’s a difficult process once you figure out where you what category you
Fall under that’s basically how you would figure out international membership the steps that you’d have to take if you guys have any questions please comment below if any of you guys are international members who have a perspective on joining a sorority please put in the comments below so that other
People will know about your experience I think they find it very helpful if you guys like this video give me a thumbs up and I’ll see you guys next time bye I’m so tired but I’m going to get through this video
