Live I’m just wait a minute or two for people to show up here if I start doing something maybe I should like take this and go walk in the woods it’s recording right yeah yeah so they’ll get the full video that was great video it was bizarre yeah it’s taking a minute for
The notifications to come up usually takes about a minute do you see that I’m here see there’s a couple people there we go hello people hello hello Zach you can ask a question Zachary can I ask a question man already yeah go ahead just ask your question let’s see that’s brother Chris
Ry 32nd degree kcch mayard Edwards here Woodsman and 33rd degree yeah it was crazy how much musician that worked um CH chat so 19 send me uh yeah go ahead and send me your uh your questions we’ll do our best to answer um but just be aware that if somebody asks rude or
You know uh being belligerent uh we we do reserve the right to to kick you out um and and I only say that because we’ve had issues not necessarily in the live uh comments but we get you know I get this is not a joke I get death threats
All the time in the comments I’m going to find you and I always say something smug like my office is on the right you’re in the woods yeah well come find me I’m in the woods that’s right Valley of Charleston West Virginia how are you guys doing drove through there not uh I
Guess a couple months ago on my way out to a deay thing you’ve been traveling a little bit Yeah I was down New York I was in New York I went to Tampa um I’m hoping to go back to New York the brothers at the Livingston Library there
Brother Alex brother Michael I mean they got it just set up fantastic you’ve got to go there as well because they’ve got some really cool stuff I mean Chris is a historian uh his his a nerd out yeah we can’t we don’t want to talk about your
Upcoming book but your uh most recent book uh Freemasons and the White House is just going gang busters but like you’ll you’ll love the place up there uh visit the house of the temple last month I want to see someone play the Oregon uh if you look on the channel do something
For I’m going to try holiday um we had an Oregon concert last year for Christmas we probably will do something like that again um I hate the way YouTube does this was it there it is visiting DC around Christmas any special holiday schedule um you know what that’s
A good question uh I would say check the website and also check Twitter and x and all that other stuff um because they’re the ones who uh who that that’s where it’s going to be updated um we’re generally open Monday through Thursday we’re not open on the weekends obviously
We going to be closed Christmas day um we’re not open on Fridays either if you’re coming to town with a group we can uh usually make some kind of accommodation for you see it disappears after I want to like really won’t let you um so that’s that’s a great question
I can try um we’re working on this live folks we’re doing it live let’s see here sometimes it’ll do it so uh live chat yeah okay cool I I can bring it up just mute your yeah yeah um reached out to a lodge in country in Trinidad and Tobago me Master Mason
Vouch for me um the process is long yeah the process is absolutely long to becoming a Mason there the first great I always tell anybody the first lesson in Freemasonry is patience right because couple things first of all everybody doing this with the exception of just a
Handful of us um Cedar Rapids and Phoenix good to hear you um with the exception of a handful of us nobody gets paid to be a Freemason it is um it is always volunteer job and so the guys who are bringing new masons in and
Things if if they have like a busy week at work I mean right now it’s November everybody’s got crap they got to get finished before the end of the year I know you do that’s right yeah yeah yeah and it’s it’s like um so things get a
Little wonky also lodges are dark in the summertime so it’s it’s challenging so if you have petitioned a masonic lodge you can be a little persistent but be also a little understanding because it takes I would say just to get in the door from the day you drop off your
Petition until the day you or let’s say the day you first make contact until the day you start the process of becoming an enter Apprentice anywhere from 3 to 6 months is basically normal so yeah uh patience is the first thing you will learn in masonry there’s also nothing
Wrong with reaching out to the secretary and just saying Hey general reminder after the new year you know because he’s focusing on the next worful master or perhaps the same worful Master but the next year so so it’s always helpful I was in Johannesburg and I met a brother
Who was like oh you’re a Scott stason yeah but you’re just so young in our jurisdiction it or in our area it takes like years to become Scot trason because they do it like only once or twice a year they’ll do a degree once or twice a
Year so it takes a decade or maybe more yeah to get up to the 32nd degree well the way that Brent Morris always explains it and he does such a nice job of it is that um that that our base level for membership in the blue lodges Master Mason our base level for
Membership in the United States in the scotus right is the 32nd degree and then those other degrees are sort of the you know the KCC which is not really a degree and then the 33rd degree which is the last degree um those are like the the above and Beyonds right in the UK
And in a lot of other places the 18th degree is is their 32nd degree and then after that you really have it takes a long time to progress to get that 32nd degree or so got yeah um but yeah and and that’s his explanation and I’ll take
Brent’s word on most things um uh and then somebody checking in about the Odd Fellows um and the Odd Fellows uh not Masonic but masonically influenced and they actually were bigger than the Masons for a short Peri of time right for actually during the Heyday of you know fraternalism they had over 100
Maybe 200,000 more M or more odd fellas than there were Masons yeah and the the the the word on on that was um if you wanted to belong to a fraternity and you had a little bit of money you became a Mason and if you wanted to belong to a
Fraternity and you weren’t quite as well off uh you became an onf fellow if you wanted to belong to a fraternity and you were near broke you join the Knights of pus and I I caught that from a couple of different I’ve heard that same expression from a few different reliable
Sources so I’m not a knight of pus or an Odd Fellow and I want to say 1852 they open the door to allow women to become full members of the Odd Fellow so I think some of that is banked on the fact that there were women on fellows
Brother Charles from Texas says Happy Thanksgiving so um the uh let’s see uh we’ve got Phoenix checking in I want to just give the shout outs here um it is a year for me from the application to initiation no need to rush going to progress the rest of my life that’s good
Mindset yeah it is a very good mindset and a lot of people say well I don’t really know any Masons how do I get introduced there’s a couple of different ways and I’m going to tell you want there’s two that I will recommend first if you’re really at a dead standstill go
To be a freemason.org one it’s got some really good videos right and information and you can sign up there and they will connect you with the Grand Lodge in your area that will take some time um but the other thing you can do if you want to
Move forward today and you you tell me this is my method you tell me if you got a different one or a better one find out whatever Lodge you want to go to whether it’s near where you work or near where you live or what have you
Figure out when they meet and it will be published somewhere either on their website or maybe in the newspaper or even call the Grand Lodge in your area and say hey I’m interested in this Lodge tell me when they meet go there on the night that they meet about a half an
Hour before they meet the guys will all be there getting ready you will not be allowed to come into the meeting they might invite you in for dinner or something like that but go there a little before the meeting tell them you’re interested don’t be all weird
About it you know don’t like lurk around outside or hide in the bushes just walk up and say hi that’s right when you go to your house right that’s exactly you say hi my name is mayard I don’t say mayard say your name but hi my name is
And I’m I’m interested in masonry and the guys on YouTube told me to come visit early and introduce myself so that’s why I’m here and they’ll go hey great um let’s set up and they’ll introduce you whoever’s in charge of membership for their Lodge I think
That’s a good way that’s right and some lodges do dinner before the meeting so that’s a good opportunity to meet everyone they’re all running in to get their dinner before the meeting starts some lodges do the dinner perhaps a f board after the meeting so really really I recommend reaching out to the
Secretary finding out what their schedule is also the other thing is some Lunes will do social activities social hours they’ll all go out to a you know not not in a til meeting but like they’ll go out to a activity they’ll go you know fishing or hunting or something
And or perhaps go to a bar a family event like a football game or something so you can you can join them as well yeah and then what happens is after you’ve been around a little bit um and you put in your petition they’ll send a
Group to well a lot of grand lodges now are doing background checks to make sure that you know they check criminal background check that’s helpful just in general yeah it is and um so if you have some minor traffic thing from 10 years ago or I always say you know if you got
Busted smoking weed back in 1977 you know just put that down it it may matter but if it’s really old it it likely won’t unless it’s something really I mean if you’re a bank robber you know maybe I don’t know Jo make a donation to your near um you
Know if you’re a bank robber or or some you have some serious charges on there masonry is probably not for you but um if you have some minor traffic thing 20 years ago just disclose it and and you know if if we weren’t going to let people in for speeding tell you who
Wouldn’t be in I would rather I rather have a candidate that told me that stuff like disclosed all that stuff I’m like Hey listen I’m trying to work into become right well and if you did stuff like when you were like 22 and you’re you
Know 50 now right I mean that’s you know that’s a world of difference we all had you know some you know youthful indiscretions you know how far your indiscretions went is a is a question but well you were a book nerd back then so you never had any discussion no that
I was very I was Angelic okay uh brother Oscar down in Mexico says if you start in the you will start in the fourth degree and it takes a year to get through the lodge of Perfection than the rose Cy and it takes over 3 years to get
Your 32nd degree so yeah that’s a lot different than ours I mean most valleys you will get you will go from 4th to 32 in about a month maybe depending on how they do their reunions and every once in a while they’ll do like a one day deal
Where you get in at like 6:00 in the morning and you sit through all the degrees all that’s that’s we did that in DC yeah and that that sometimes is like some guys want to join but they don’t have six weeks to go to a different meeting every you know every other day
Yeah the one day class is a way to get in it is helpful if you have if you have a family and you’ve got a lot of you know two or three kids and you you know weekends are tough because you’ve got to balance your life so sometimes those
Types of reunions are helpful right here’s that’s the other thing about reunion though you can go and see them again as a yeah and you should you really should because you’re not going to get it just one shot and and really the best way to get to know a degree is
If you have a degree that you really kind of like or you’ve read and you thought that’s really interesting go join the cast of that degree if your Valley is not doing it find a couple of guys and and see if you can’t put it on
I mean obviously check with your sgig or your secretary or personal representative but um you know it’s it’s that’s the best way you learn here’s a great question this is really great for you too I was initiated back in August and just had a baby I’m excited I want
To work my way up to master but I find myself a little complacent right now and haven’t been to a meeting for two months any advice uh I would talk to your spouse about your expectations let’s just say Communication in life in general is very good please communicate
Communicate to your wife or your spouse about your your wants and expectations in Freemasonry communicate to the lodge the lodge officers whomever you want to speak to if it’s just a brother that is very active and you want to communicate them if you don’t feel comfortable talking to the wor Master the secretary
Talk to the worship master um I think here’s the thing Freemason will still be be there in a couple years that’s what I’m let me tell you let me tell you freem will be there in a couple years yeah I mean despite any any uh you know
News stories to the contrary oh we’re being no the the fraternity has been around since time of Memorial it’s not going anywhere uh your your kid is only going to be a baby for very fine you were going to Blink and that period will have been gone so I know very well
Right what that means hey man listen my son just got his 32nd degree uh in the Scottish right a month ago and I’m like it seems like not even a week changing his diaper yeah he’s this fat little baby and and now he’s grown and getting
His cap and his ring and it was it was you know so baby first family first the lodge isn’t going anywhere also here’s the other thing if you say you know what I can balance this you’ll probably do a half half ass job now you might not do
So well now and then you could have in you know waited a couple years and gone Full Steam and supported and had more time on your schedule but who knows I mean it’s up to you really speak honestly speak your spouse that’s what I
Did and my and one of my things my wife which I’m I’m so thankful for was my wife was like when I’m marrying you I knew that I’m marrying a guy who’s extroverted and likes to join participate and do things busy busy so yeah yeah so I’m a busy person and so
Having that conversation is helpful but at the same time you got to strike a balance yeah and like cool that you’re having a meeting maybe once or twice a month but like find the balance to be like these are the times and then I’m going to do XYZ come medicate yeah and
If you just had a baby a couple of months ago you’re probably still exhausted I mean that is a that is a I mean any parent will tell you that I am pretty exhausted for the next baby I’m already exhausted the baby’s not even here yet right it’s it’s mentally
Physically and spiritually a a tax wonderful but taxing and um but that first Lodge second and and then find a couple Lodge brothers that you’re tight with and just stay in touch with them being a Mason has nothing to do with showing up for Lodge being a Mason is how you live
I know I’m going to derail the conversation with this I think if your Lodge has the money put money down and hire a babysitter take the kid from your wife or spouse that evening and go no honey don’t worry and then have the lodge pay for a baby babysitter and then
Bring the kid and have him hang out in the lodge Hall with a couple other kids and rug RS yeah you get creative if you can if I if there was a way to do that for my Lodge I would 100% pay 20 bucks or 50 bucks that evening to have a baby
My wife is free she has her evening I can take the kiddo the kiddo stays in the lodge I know where he is and we can hang out and do work it’s funny that you mention that but there was a time when Rainbow chapters which is a ladies you a
Young ladyes youth group and job’s daughter chapters which is also a young ladies youth group that is attached to masonry they would um they would basically run babysitting Services during Lodge meetings and during like let’s say there was a big Lodge dinner happening in one part of the lodge
Building in another part the joies would be in there and they they’d be babysitting all the little kids that’s great and it was it was you know it’s very because you know it really is very family oriented when you it down so I would say you know stay in touch with
Your Lodge absolutely put your family first there will be time for masonry it’s not going anywhere um you could now’s a good time to study when you have quiet time you could use the mastercraftsman online college there stuff there you could you could join the fil Society then you’ll get magazines
Like this where uh Master R has shameful plug it is a plug it’s your PL your book on your um your article Freemasonry and anti-masonry and I took this to read on the plane and like I put I sat on the plane and like was out in 10 seconds so
I didn’t get to read it yet but I want to preface that it wasn’t because of my writing no no I didn’t even open this I sat on the plane and as soon as the hum started I was like oh sleepy I just want
To clarify I haven’t read it at all I I enjoy your writing very much I apprciate um fellowcraft Prince Hall here brother from from the island of Trinidad welcome brother any specific book you would assist with fellowcraft studies understanding fellowcraft that you recommend first of all great to hear
From any Prince Hall Brothers love love having you guys jump on or just you know Brothers uh yeah so books that you recommend fellowcraft fellowcraft that’s a good one you know there’s a lot for people who are sort of on the prep you know on the porch so to speak apprentices and
There’s a lot for Master Masons but um I kind of want to say wait a little yeah wait a little just finish your now that’s just me personally like because I think if it’s written about a fellowcraft I’m not sure I’m not sure now I here here’s something I think I
Could recommend okay Serbia checking in ma’ hello from Serbia how do you say hello in Ser what’s Ser speak in Serbia gosh I’m ignorant Serbian they speak they Serbian it didn’t sound I almost said it it didn’t sound right um uh I think if you go to the Masonic Service
Association the United States check or of North America rather check just Masonic Service Association Google that they have got short talk bulletins specifically about fellow and what the short talk bulletins are is they’re designed to be sort of mini Lodge education pieces and they’re generally in a pamphlet but they’ve produced a
Bunch on podcast that are excellent if you go there and you look up fellowcraft they’ve got a whole list of stuff that’s fellowcraft so it’s not a book exactly but it’s a good you know that’s a good point there are also podcasts not necessarily book there can listen there’s AUD books so
Prince Hall brother I would say try that that would probably be a good good thing to check out brother Rick Mubarak he’s one of ours he’s a Maryland I he’s a Maryland Maryland Mason but DC SC a wor with Master Mubarak I think he’s still Master true that’s true has not yet
Invited me to come do speech at his lodge that’s okay now that was that was a shame I no I joke with him because I know Rick I joke yeah Rick’s agree um uh the brother who wrote about his baby baby’s one month old man hang with that
Baby you will bat your eyes and that kid listen that’s the best part that’s my daughters in this building right now doing mailings and things for me and they I was they they were little things in my arm not too long ago and uh now all of the sudden they’re grown and it’s
It’s crazy it is absolutely crazy you will blink and it will be over okay um I don’t know what that word is but someone wants to know does the allseeing eye represent that say d represent I I don’t uh the guy who wrote about the allseeing
Eye does it allseeing ey Masonic uh yes and no yes it predates masonry it predates masonry it’s it’s it’s not exclusively Masonic it has been around for centuries it is you know generally means the allseeing eye of God the Eye of Providence Masons adopted it sometime
At the end of the 18th century I guess so late 1700s it started getting added into Masonic lore but um so I say when people ask me about that one I say yes and no because it’s not exclusively Masonic it’s it’s just not I don’t think the double-headed Eagle is exclusively
Masonic it’s no actually it’s not there’s evidence that no we we know that so yes and no um what does it mean the in the the the Eye generally does mean like the eye of God or the eye of a God I know the Egyptians use it yeah but so
But like the pentagram and the rainbow and a thousand other symbols you can mention it is interpreted differently by different cultures throughout hundreds if not thousands of years and so to say it means this one thing is just incorrect I’m proud of you what is it 12:21 so my over under for you
Mentioning the pentagram was 15 minutes above so you did a great job I get so irritated by it it’s just ridiculous um Frederick bir Virginia is active members oh so a guy uh I saw this me yeah so a brother I was trying to find a good this
Question so um a brother a gentleman asked asked about he’s not a Mason but he asked about um he’s in his 20s and he says will I be surrounded by old guys if I join a lodge essentially depends on the lodge depends on the lodge depends
On the lodge so that’s why one of the things you mentioned before was go visit the lodge see if the lodge has your culture if it’s interesting if if the people represent the people that you want to be with I don’t mind hanging out with older gentlemen I spend a lot of my
Time with you sometimes that’s not I’m joking I’m joking no but um you know I it depends depends on the lodge depends on the lodge yeah you cut that part of our game by the way when no I didn’t I left it in there did okay um anyway yeah
So I think you should check out the lodge go around and my thing is when I go to a lodge so when I see someone who’s interested in joining through masonry and they come to my Lodge I will say have you checked out other lodges is this your first Lodge you’ve been to
Because if this is the first Lodge you’ve been to consider going to different lodges seeing and then sometimes when you go out to a different Lodge and you see how different it is you you appreciate the younger guys who are there not every Lodge is filled with young professional men who are
Interested in the Masonic experience but sometimes you know the older crowd gives you a little different experience in theic experence I would I would really agree with that and I would say Don’t just go to the lodge that happens to be closest to your house consider a lodge
That might be a little bit further away that has a culture that’s more in tune with what it is you’re looking for every Lodge has its own it’s like college or fraternity are you going to apply to one University just because it’s the closest
One to you no and and one of the things I always ask people is what’s a good night for you to go to a meeting because if you have been bowling every Tuesday since you were 15 years old and the lodge only meets on Tuesdays well you’re
Probably not going to go to Lodge very much that’s right so find the lodge that fits in with your your schedule um and and even if you’re somebody who works uh nights there are daylight lodges in fact um I’m a member of daylight Lodge yeah there’s there’s almost every Grand Lodge
Has daylight lodges that are sponsored there lodges that meet during the day specifically for folks like that famously Houdini belonged to St Sicilia Lodge in New York City which is a daylight Lodge that was set up for Vaudeville and Broadway performers they work at night they they go to the stage
I was in I was in the room recently it was really cool the over under for mudini was 5 minutes so you’re now way over yeah yeah yeah that was bad I expected more from you uh Charleston South Carolina the home of the Scottish right yes sir thanks for checking in
Brother1 Nebraska let’s see um uh don’t you take time for lunch thanks so that’s one of our our folks who uh who just checked we take time for lunch yeah we’re going to go to lunch here in a few minutes if you’ve seen our full videos of our bodies I think we’ve
Got to cut out or get us out um is uh so one thing I’ve asked is being a defendant in a juvenile court case should be disclosed on a petition for just be as open with the be as honest as possible honesty’s never going to hurt
You be open to the petition process as possible uh here’s a guy going to a lodge dinner tonight congratul that if that’s your first connection with a lodge congratulations if it’s not and you’re just going to Lodge dinner then I’m so proud of you yeah because just
Tell us what lodge you’re going to uh he did it is uh montro Masonic lodge number 63 so where um uh in montros okay so um please let us know the state the valley yeah please helps us lodge number and all that stuff helps um uh let’s see who
What else we got here I did see someone um mentioned the recent um recent things about uh Vatican we’re not going to speak for anybody other than ourselves and all I want to say is uh Freemasonry doesn’t interfere with anyone’s Faith at all you’re whatever your faith is is is
What you do we have um and uh other than to say that you know that that’s what they said okay that’s that’s what they said real no no comment on it because Mason re doesn’t comment on those more importantly how much Flack did you get for the uh killers of the flower Moon
Video uh not too much a few people were a few people wrote to us and said you know hey you’re cut this that or the other thing and oh no not about that about just like the general of like should this guy have been a Mason should
He should have been kicked out oh no there was nobody who didn’t agree that he should have been kicked out there were people who said you know a lot oh you guys have been complient all this time basically we were all you and I might as well been there holding the p
Ourselves is is was the General uh tenor of it um uh sometimes people like see um uh let’s see here uh passed enter an apprentice lecture last night waiting through the fellow craft degree last congratulations ENT an apprentice my brother um how have the apartments affected the temple uh you’re referring
To our big construction project up back so here in the house of the temple which is on 16th Street in Washington DC directly in our backyard which used to be our parking lot there’s a very large apartment building now I mean it was an open space not it wasn’t like a like a
Proper parking lot open grass right right we all parked there yeah um and now there’s a a apartment building there and um it has you know the the construction period was a little challenging getting in and out of the building and things like that but now a
Little bit but you know what we’ve got a garage over there now and it’s it’s it’s great I think it’s going to be a great thing um I think it it provides US income that we can use that we can move towards programming so I think that’s important you know the allseeing
Eye is another folks still discussing the allseeing eye yeah I mean it’s it’s it’s a lot of symbolism um so uh if you’ve got any further questions I don’t see too many question questions on here and if I’m missing one um please just re repeat it really so have it answer
Questions yeah um so let’s talk about your article in the files here first of all tell people what files is and how to pronounce Phil the Phil terrible word to say philes it’s the Journal of masonic research uh it is published and letters it says and letters well sometimes
People submit letters and we hope you do submit letters um but it is a research Journal it’s one of the oldest research journals in the United States um similar to herum in that you know it it I mean we submit or you receive interesting articles from very good researchers
Herum sometimes tends to be a little bit more uh uh Scottish right focused but not NE necessarily so philes inh herit them are really good if you are a researcher and interested and so I wrote an article it’s a two-parter this is the first part that recently came out on
Anti-masonry and President John Quincy Adams Adams had a very interesting life with the Freemasons and in this in this journal article I wrote I basically pulled everything from the Massachusetts historical society which digitized his diary it is extensive it is detailed I mean he does a great job in terms of
Keeping everything noted I mean he even there was one part where he even noted how much money he paid towards building the the DC Masonic temple uh you know back in 1824 or 1825 whenever it was um and so it goes through some the history about um Quincy Adams it goes through a
Lot of the Masonic connections that he had he participated in a lot of activities and then right around the anti-masonic period which this article gets towards then sort of ends because it really most of the antimonic stuff is covered in part two um it’s talking about his relationship with masonry how
People used to ask him they went to the White House president they go to him and say Mr President are you are you a Freemason and he would say no why would I you know why would I be a Freemason um and and he initially had this sort of
Hesit hesitancy because he found that a lot of people are associated his father with the fraternity and so to him he was sort of annoyed by that he thought that was really FR he was very frustrated by because he thought well my father was an accomplished man he was a former
President of the United States Founding Father of the of the United States and so you know people thought oh he was just a Freemason and and so he got all this stuff from Freemason and so to him he sort of associated Freemason with politics and so he didn’t like that
Association and he didn’t like that his father was associated with Freemasons CU he thought he did so many accom he accomplished so many things not because he was a member of a fraternity and they gave him preference by the way he wasn’t a Freemason and they didn’t give him
Preference and so the the article goes into into a lot of those little nuances and uh and if uh to join the Philadelphia Society if you’re a Mason and I don’t want to give a it’s not terribly expensive 60 bucks and and they do a nice job which I think is the same
Price for the um the her or the Scot research it is it is and if you um if you just do a Google search on it you’ll find it pretty quick um and I will admit though a lot of the people who are members of the Phil AES are also members
Of the sky right res it’s one of those it’s one of those things um by the way if you’re watching please I I think you have to subscribe in order to make a comment but please do give us a thumbs up it does push us up that algorithm um
Let’s see uh here’s here’s a question a trivia question which I always love trivia questions what is the name of the tavern where the Scottish right first met in was founded in 1801 hint it’s not what you think it’s not Shepherd’s Tavern if it’s not Shepherd’s Tavern
You’re going to need to show us some receipts Shephard’s tavn Shepherd’s Tav home of the No No that’s it well they actually don’t know when they went there’s a lot there’s not a lot of recorded information on when officially yes yes yes yes officially Shepherd’s T Shepherd’s Tavern
So if there’s a if you have a different answer I’d like to see the receipts on that um uh what is the significance of 1717 that’s a great question too from 177 1717 the first Grand launch first English Mr expert on English Mason I’m not an expert by any s that was when
Meanwhile he has a Beatles tie on I do none of them are masons that’ be so cool they’re not be so cool Ringo would be a great Mason I think it R he would he Paul would a good Shriner PA would not be um John is an esoteric Mason I can
Tell he would have been an esoteric guy so angry and brooding yeah and George would have been a past master or secretary for sure or maybe Tyler actually I’m thinking about it he would have been a Tyler but um Ringo in work should we do our own video
On yeah for sure um that’s ridiculous uh 1770s when the first Grand Lodge was formed in England the goose in the grd iron uh Tavern they three grand three lodges got together and said hey we’re all going to work together and shortly thereafter they elected their first
Grandm so that’s sort of it was in June of 1717 there’s a lot of infighting during this period oh yeah there’s a lot of infighting and there’s actually actually other other Grand Lodge you know activities in 1725 1726 so like it’s it’s not this we all came together
And we all thought this would be a great idea let’s all form a Grand Lodge there was a lot of infighting there’s a lot related to the Ancients and the moderns I don’t know if that person was particularly a Mason who would understand that but just think of it
That there were different ways of recognition and engaging in Freemasonry and these two groups did not like each other see and and I’m doing a video about this soon because there was a bunch of Tik Tok videos and things I’m reacting to that were basically um bogus
Masonry um people who are not and in Freemasonry recognition is everything if your Grand Lodge is not recognized by the other Grand Lodge then we don’t view it as being legitimate and we have you know that’s how you recognition and recognition changes from time to time there’s some states will get mad at
Other states be like we don’t recognize you anym we drop recogn and they drop recognition and so those guys around political yeah those guys can’t sit in each other’s lodges now it doesn’t happen at ton in the US um usually you know other lodges will get together and
Be like come on guys shake hands and get over it and they’ll they’ll work it out but you know uh Grand lodges come and go in in other countries because you know for financial reasons and then somebody will start a new Grand Lodge and then they have to get recognized by other
Ones and Supreme Council so it happens from time to time and that’s that’s what was going on in 1717 is these couple of LW just got together and said okay we recognize each other and then um they kind of started putting together and it set a standard for how operate how you
Meet each other it just it helps it helps clear up any confusion CU sometimes there is confusion uh here’s a really good according to the local Historical Society in Charleston The Tavern had been sold several times in in 1801 it was called The City Tavern all
Right we’re going to check that one cool I’m sure somebody knows that of art or somebody knows that off the top of their head is he he’s here today yeah he is okay um and then um let’s see uh what has masonry personally done for your
Lives that made you wish you found the Brotherhood sooner in your life it’s a good question it it connected me with people that I don’t think in my original social group I would connect it 100% I have a I have a couple who will not be named because they’re very high
Up Masons like Grand secretaries and stuff please don’t use the term high up Masons I mean like Grand like officers like Grand SEC officers Grand people hear that go I knew they were high up M no no you’re right you’re right I should be better with my words but like Grand
Like past Grand secretaries and Grand secretaries and Grand Masters who guys whove served the fraternity I don’t think I would have ever met and their politics might be different than mine and their Outlook in life might be different M but what it does for you I
Think I I think it brings you into a room and forces you to find commonality and then through that you gain appreciation I don’t think I would have ever met you if it wasn’t through but I’m I’m so pleased that I’ve met you and the things that you know you do
Different things we we both are come from a completely different background we come together and we enjoy each other’s and and I think that is one of the benefits it is the the Fraternal the social aspect to it I don’t think I would have and some of these guys who
Are Facebook friends and social you know through social media they share completely different opinions on so many things but I get to enjoy seeing them in the launch Hall yep the I that would absolutely be my answer when when you’re a kid your your friend group is based on
Where your parents chose to live and what school you that’s right that’s right when you become a grownup your friend group ends up being somewhat limited to the people that you work with because you’re with them seven eight hours a day and they may or yeah they
May or may not be like you know good people with a similar value system but Masons we have a same you know sort of a core value system that says we’re all men of Faith who want to be better tomorrow than we are today and and and
When you get in that room I I was a a radio DJ and a a lifelong rock and roll musician and you know those were the people that I associated with were other you know other other members of the radio staff and then other musicians and
Things like that and it wasn’t you know they’re all fine people but it wasn’t quite the same and now I’m in this group of people where I’ve got this he’s a historian and is is my friend and I’ve got um you know I have a friend who is a
Railroaders a dear friend of mine I’ve got uh Enthusiast oh God yeah I mean everything you can think of and and it’s so great to have those other perspectives in life it it really it is actually refreshing to be in a room of people who don’t AR aren’t they’re not
In the Echo chamber with everyone and so you can hear those and and sometimes it’s frustrating right sometimes when you’re in your in the lodge room and you’re trying to do maybe you know you’re trying to pass some resolution or do some business and people have conflicting values but over time that
Sort of sense of hopefully there should be compromise and you get to a middle ground where everyone’s happy and then you move on and I and I I would argue I you would hope that this is sort of the kind of thing that you would expect in
Government and in politics and in life but unfortunately not so it serves as a nice venue for that and I have new to do that absolutely and that’s the number one thing some of the best friends I have now are are masons and it’s like listen there are in any organization
Whether it’s Masonry or you know the rotary club or whatever there are frustrating moments there are moments when your time there are moments when your time is is uh taken and you feel like why did I do that I shouldn’t have gone to that dinner I shouldn’t you
There time there are frustrations and any anything involving people is going to have its moments that’s right but you will never find a better way to connect with other human beings um than in a masonic lodge because it it’s there’s just something about that shared experience that really creates a special
And unique Bond and it’s so cool to have all those those new friends and brothers but then to know that like there’s a guy on the other side of the ocean I can pick up a phone and call him and we don’t really have to know each other but
I you know when I call another Valley even if we’ve never met or I call a brother who I’ve never met we have a shared connection and we can it’s much easier to like talk to them you know I get the feeling when we do a banial session when there’s a leadership
Conference or when there’s something like m Sonic week where you get the same people who have those values who come from different backgrounds mind you different backgrounds but they share those same values and they come together so by anual sessions Masonic week and Leadership you know conferences it’s so
Much fun to see those people it’s so much fun and I guess a plug for the leadership conferences absolutely please attend those sessions to meet these kinds of people meet like people like us well don’t let that don’t but Grant Commander will be there Arturo deas will
Be there a lot of our Valley and Orient leaders will be there different background you brother yeah I’m not an account I’m really account the um uh he’s an expert on taking exil the the grand you have to be Mason to attend or Scot Mason to attend those Scottish right.org is where the
Information is for that um received the Scottish right degrees in Omaha earlier this year that’s did a conjunction with Prince Hall that’s excellent that’s awesome um there’s a uh Brother Scott says Scott Brown says he’s shout out up the road There Brother Scott we love him he’s a great guy Scott Brown illustrious
Scott Brown correct um masonry talks about being Brotherhood charge of the the 33rd degree conferral the one that you received he was he did an excellent job um okay here’s here’s a question let’s see how we answer this it’s it’s a little complicated in esoterica Pike questions the symbolism of the blue
Lodge and the implements question used Yeah question the symbolism of the of the of the of the uh tools used in the um Master Mason degree I left it open-ended in terms of the three tools that were that were used in that degree said he didn’t find anything significant
Can you speak to this first of all one of the things you have to remember about Pike and art will tell you this and and anybody else who studyed Pike a lot of what you read is just his opinion and so his opinion about these things is as
Valid as yours and or I guess yours is as valid as his when you look at that if if you look at that symbol and that makes a connection in your brain in some way shape or form that’s as reasonable as anything else and he’s trying to draw
Significance from the body of work that is contemporary to his life so he’s looking at the resources that he has in front of him he’s looking at the books that were printed in the history that was written and he’s trying his best to pull from what he has and so one of my
Chief complaints is how he how did he not know XYZ well back then you had very little access to things which makes by the way his liary so significant the N of books that he had all these other things that he had so I I don’t know I I
I tend to take that with a little bit of grain and salt when someone says he should have done XYZ it’s like yeah but he didn’t have resources he didn’t have the book he doesn’t have our contemporary knowledge on the topic um two more we’ll get to and then we we’ll
Wrap this up in just a couple minutes um haven’t talked about Thanksgiving by the way we will we will you and I I think we might disagree on that that’s okay um do you know that difference is practiced in different countries how is Freemasonry is practiced in different country man
Rituals are different yeah rituals are different um they’re similar you’ll recognize if you go from here to uh England or France they won’t be word for word for sure um even if you go from here in Washington DC to Pennsylvania it’s not going to be word for word yeah
Um but some what we call the landmarks of Freemasonry will be similar real close meaning the things that really matter in terms of identifying one Mason to another those remain pretty similar that you’ll be able to to understand them but they’re very different and there’s some uh there’s some uh
Organizations Masonic organizations and other Grand lodges that only allow Christians or only allow a particular faith and so and then there’s some that allow atheists which we in the United States don’t allow um in regular masonry tips on if you’re traveling if you’re traveling abroad contact your grand
Secretary and have your grand secretary reach out to the respective countes Grand secretary for a proper introduction don’t just show up to a lodge meeting in a different country and expect to be welcome you may not necessarily be welcomed as appropriately contact your grand secretary’s office have them contact the respective uh
Grand secretary in your different country and then have that discussion and please do that weeks or months in advance if you can that way they can find and that’s what I did contact DC Grand secretary when I was in Johannesburg they got me in contact with the lodge there the brothers took care
Of me it was great it was an interesting ritual by the way the ritual did not know a lick of it because it was in a different language but I was able to be in the room and go ah here’s what they’re doing or they they were doing an
Interen degree and I was like okay I know exactly where we are in this process even though I didn’t know anything about the language so uh first brother rapael good to see you man um and uh he’s a uh past Junior Grand Ward and let’s see of Maryland I should say
Um good to see you sir and uh how does Scottish right work with clandestine Freemasonry it doesn’t um that’s quick uh does the Scottish right Southern jurisdiction do online degrees the way the northern Masonic jurisdiction does I don’t know precisely what the nmj does I know they do some
Things online so I won’t speak to anything that they do um they’re wonderful we love love all of our Northern Brothers um and and they’re welcome to sit in our lodges and vice versa the southern jurisdiction as a rule does not do online degrees during the pandemic when anything was shut down
We did some different things to you know continue to bring people in but then in order to sort of make it official they had to come to a real degree because as we mentioned when someone was asking about what makes it so lifechanging it’s it’s being together and and there’s only
So much of that you can get in this in this setting I mean we’d love I mean we’d love if we could you know rent a big Hall and have all you guys come and hang out with us and ask questions there yeah but um you know this is a
Reasonable fact simile but it’s not the same as being in in an actual Lodge so or come to the leadership conference if you’re a Mason and you can ask during the Q&A session you’re you’re you’re doing good job with your plugs today hey man I’m just trying to support the team
Um see is there working organ or pipe organ in the house of the temple yeah it’s directly above our heads pretty much right from where we are right now oh yeah um it’s it works it needs repairs and uh we have some folks who are helping to repair it it needs about
$250,000 worth of work because it’s it’s pretty old needs some uh some restoration but it does function well enough to play if you’re a really gifted player I am not but our grand organist is so brother Paul knows what he’s doing to make it make it sound like what it’s
Supposed to um here’s I joined Al Al darini uh joined the Scottish right Southern jurisdiction last weekend 32nd degrees didn’t expect it to be so lifechanging I feel like a better person uh you’re not a better person but you have the tools to every day make the
Choice to be a better person and so uh if you watched the video I put up yesterday of me walking around the I can’t I cannot believe that many people watch that video of me walking around with the wood literally it like a Survivor mag no I saw this guy do a
Video it was he was on talking about stoic philosophy and I just really liked the way he did it and I was like well I can go do that so I went out in the backyard and I like wandered around and did that and put it together and it it
Has resonated with people for which I’m grateful and I thank everyone who watched it but um it’s always nice to get the reminder you know it’s not it’s something like it’s not it’s not the same but like if you’re battling something like an addiction or issue
It’s not something that you just do once you have to keep working on it working on it working on it y you have to show up every day you have to get up get up every day and make the right choices the right decisions and and move forward in
Your life that is the way to be a better person and Scottish right Freemasonry I always tell new people it will cause each degree will ask you will force you to ask yourself questions that only you can answer and your answer to those questions will be determined how you
Move forward and how you can improve your life and so uh you have those tools you have that opportunity you have brothers around you that you can ask questions so you know call your Valley secretary and say hey uh you know mayor said call and ask this question and
He’ll put you in touch he’ll either answer you or put you in touch with some will I also feel like if given the context of the time when this stuff was written and when this stuff was really created the degrees and Scot degrees I think those were very novel and
Interesting and and unique things now we take it for granted right because we go through a liberal art or you go through school you go through Lial Arts education perhaps and you learn a lot of these foundations outside of Freemasonry but you got to consider the context of
The time when most people did not go to elementary school or high school they they were out they were working in manual labor and so to do that to be a farmer to be a Craftsman to then come to a lodge meeting every month or so and talk about liberal arts and principles
And Science and Mathematics is sort of revolution and I think that’s you got to you got to put this stuff in context of the time here’s a here’s a question how can lodges advance and increase membership numbers after such a global shutdown we have worrying numbers in California
There’s worrying numbers all over but part of it has less to do with um pandemic related things and more to do I mean obviously that caused a definite Gap in initiations I’ll say those zooms me those Zoom meetings were more attended during Co because people were
In the room they couldn’t you know they they had the ability to watch the TV or watch Zoom meetings that is why our grand Commander still recommends that lodges or that Valley that are able to do a portion of their Valley meeting online through Zoom so that you know
Maybe you’ve got an older guy who um doesn’t like to drive at night or he’s taking care of a sick sick spouse or uh you’ve got somebody who moved away from the valley they still want to be a part of things the zoom component of that will allow them to still
That’s you know again it’s not 100% the same but it’s it’s pretty good I will say though to answer that question of the Brother The Experience matters yeah the experience is so important when you walk I you know consider visualizing what your experience as a new candidate
Would be how is the entrance of your Masonic Hall set up is it decorated well is it proper do it is it welcoming to bring someone in how are all the people around there you know assembled do they look disheveled are they clean are they
Do they wear perhaps a you know a clean business suit or something how is the initiation done is it just sit down and watch as we do an Exemplar or do go through the initiatic process try to so if you find ways and they could be so
Minute like just nice dinner plates and nice utensils if you find ways to improve the initiatic experience do it the way that you wish it would have been done on you yes you know and even above that like take that 10% multiply it you know I I agree with that 100% I’m
Actually my my upcoming book called U you know stop whining about the ritual it’s literally this what it’s called is is about the idea of how do you how do you build and there’s a little bit of a if you build it they will come type of
Thing if you create the experience you wanted and that takes time okay it is not a fast moving Ship by design design it is a slow moving ship right you get in you have to work your way through the chairs and each chair has its own little
Lesson that comes with it each officer’s position has own little lesson and if you go from the door to the East and and and you’ve done it properly by the time you get there you will have built enough um I don’t know what the right word is
You you will you will have enough information to be able to create the experience you want and and bring people in and and and and and do that but you have to you have to be the driving force behind it and and you have to do it
Gently you can’t be a jerk about it like walk in like a bull in a china shop you have to you know you have to realize and be kind to people as as you’re working that way and and I think there’s a lesson that most Masons Overlook that I
Always point out when I I’m asked to speak about this topic is one of my favorite things to do is speak about how do we use these things to how do we take these things that are these you know these philosophies or these symbols how do we actually apply them in real life
And in real time and you know we’re always told oh to be one ask one to be one to ask one you have to come and ask you have to come and ask that’s the very first lesson in masonry and that is you have to be proactive in your life you
Have to make the decision that I am going to come forward and I am going to step forward and do this no one can do it for you no one knocks on that door for you literally no one will do it for you you must do it for yourself and that
Is a lesson to be proactive and engaged in your own life and in your own experience so whatever it is that you’re doing you need to be the guy who steps forward and be the guy who says yes I’m going to take that on now that gets you
Into trouble could cause a little bit of masonic burnout if you’re not careful but right be proactive and be engaged in your own life do not be someone who comes in and sits on the sideline and waits for someone to tell you what to do
Now also don’t be a jerk and being what what can I do can I do of course you know some some politeness and gentleness goes all way but I I really think that a lot of people missed that that lesson um let’s see uh does anyone have how much
Of the original Freemasonry rituals exist today and how much has been changed the original Freemasonry rituals hang on hold on I’ve got the original ones they’re in a folder over here no there are no original Masonic degrees per se um I mean these are things that
Developed over a period of time and even though in lodges we say no man can change masonry it changes like every year yeah it really does it’s well certain degree certain things change not everything some things remain the same that’s right certain things change now there has been
Great care and work done from a research perspective to find these and to catalog these and to document these and so there are Masonic groups that just focus on reprinting Old um um old um rituals and ciphers uh there’s something called the Allied Masonic degrees which basically compiles those organiz those uh rituals
Into a group and so if there’s an AMD Council out there you can learn more about that um there are there are academic scarly approaches that Masons have been taking to find those answers and to to record them and to document them and share them out so you got to
Join the philes you got to join the Scot research Society um you’ve got to you know consider joining some of these research-based institutions also consider looking at your Lodge of research your Grand Lodge if your Grand Lodge has a lodge of research consider you know joining them and becoming a
Member papers WR almost every Grand Lodge has a lodge of research so there we go so reach out to your States or jurisdiction’s Grand Lodge find out if they have logge of research find out how to get in contact with them and most of these organizations now are doing video
Calls or Zoom calls excuse me um and they’re you know presenting papers virtually um let’s see uh why does the blue house the ritual use the word compass and Compasses instead of compass because only dumb Americans call it the compass it’s uh it’s compasses properly it’s two things and are stuck together
At the top they’re two points of there are the compasses um so translation yeah only dumb Americans say that I’m not saying that and our original rituals do come from the British Isles like it or not so that’s you know that’s where it comes from that’s why we use the term
People really get woked up online about the term worshipful master I get death threats over that all the time no you’re not supposed to shouldn’t say worshipable you shouldn’t say master okay it’s not master as it so first of all Master Mason is a lot like Master
Carper it doesn’t mean that I’m the boss of all it just means I’m the master of this particular set of skills or theoretically I’m the master of this particular set of skills like Master Carpenter or master electrician you are elected by the Brethren to serve as the
Master yes if you are the master of the lodge yes you in control of the lodge that’s like a master in a courtroom or and the term worshipful is exactly the same exactly analogous to the term your honor it’s just we’re it’s an hfic it’s an honorific it does not mean that you
Due worship it’s an old word look it up we’re not that’s just go to the dictionary look it’s right but there are Grand lodges that have Customs on honorific and on these types of etiquette get some protocol that are not consistent with every other Grand Lodge so for example Pennsylvania I think
They’re they don’t even use most worful I think the wor the Grand Master is Right worshipful not most worful but these are these types of nuances I you know when I visited Florida for example I had a brother school me on these etiquette that he does in his oh you
Shouldn’t do this XYZ and I said listen we don’t do that in our states some states don’t do these types of things that you’re talking about that’s a very nice custom or tradition or etiquette the protocol that you use that’s great that’s how you do it fantastic but
Please don’t be bogged down or disappointed when other Brethren who’ve never been taught that don’t use that um be a little B flexible please so we do need to wrap this up in just a minute here but um there’s a bunch of really great questions on here we we will do
This again let’s do another um let’s let’s let’s talk a little bit about Thanksgiving so so brother George so brother George October 3rd 1789 Okay so we they’ve just wrapped up the Constitutional Convention a few months earlier they finally got this thing ratified we have a new government after
The Articles of confeder Confederation which was a disaster um and uh we’re moving forward and thank God that’s over with hey I know what thank God is right why don’t we set aside a national holiday to thank God for this Constitution and all of our great
Blessings and we’re not going to make it super religious it’s just going to be thank God for our blessings and that’s that we’ll do it at the end of November what do you think and George says this and he writes down his Proclamation the first national holiday of Thanksgiving
Is celebrated I not a national holiday well no it was a national holiday he that one day it wasn’t a permanent National holid okay okay so it wasn’t a permanent national holiday it didn’t become permanent until Abraham Lincoln made it permanent and then it floated a little bit each president could move it
Until FDR came and finally said enough it’s the last THS it’s the Thursday and that’s it and then it’s cemented so between Washington and Roosevelt and between the fact that it’s it it’s got a religious component but it’s not specifically a religious holiday I’m calling it a masonic kind of
Holiday okay you hear it here you don’t you heard here you heard it here what am I going to say you have so much Zeal and enthusiasm I do I really do because I it’s a public Proclamation it’s a public proclamation of the things that we should be focusing on that’s is saying
Being a good person being thankful I think it’s a sense of humility right you being human you’re being moral and ethical type of person so in that sense it aligns with Masonic principles okay your way of say can I lawyer you that I’m lawyering your way of saying it is a
Little better it aligns with Masonic principles I like your way better it’s sort of like what they did with uh with Reagan he’s not a Mason you know he’s not an honorary Mason but his actions align with Masonic principles it’s it’s okay it’s a little bit of legal EAS but
I’ll I’ll take it um because I just think that it absolutely align it’s it is a we don’t care what religion you are he doesn’t say the Christian God right he doesn’t say we don’t care what faith you are right take this day set it aside and be grateful
For what you have and it’s eat as much as you can and and that’s you know that’s also a masonic tradition uh eat as much as you can I say that I I do have the belly Mason degree but think of the cont stop it I know uh think of the
Context of the time though right they just spent all this time fighting you know they’re now fighting internally trying to figure out how the government is going to work they just spent all this time fighting the um fighting a a foreign power and so to them this was an
Opportunity that Washington thought we need a time when we can relax and unwind you need a moment to take a breath take a pause and do these types of things and so I can certainly understand his rationale for making a public declaration yeah um this I I wanted to
Real quick mention this how much Egyptian old Customs influence degree work almost none um you know in the Scottish right there are a couple of degrees that present some Egyptian philosophies but they are not this is what people get whooped up about oh the Bible has pictures of Egyptian gods in
It yeah they’re not there for worship okay they’re there for comparative study one of the things that the Scottish W does and I think does very well is a lot like a comparative religion class in a college is it takes different faiths and different um I don’t want to use the
Word mythology but different religious Traditions from around the world iconography yeah yeah every religion is based on on some sort of origin story and some sort of if you do X Y and Z you will Ascend into whatever their version of Heaven is and um you know masonry
Doesn’t promise any of that it’s not a faith but what it does is it it in order to encourage people to be more accepting of one another and of differences it says here look at this belief system and see how those two things are so parallel
The the story of this Egyptian god and the story of Christ are so similar how can we hate people who believe this when what what they believe is very similar to what we believe and it’s it’s an effort to compare these things in order to show there is a lot more that unites
Us than what separates us and so why argue and fight over these tiny things we’ll let God sort that out when the time comes in the meantime let’s all shake hands and work together as good people while we’re here on Earth that’s what the Scottish R you know part of
What it really teaches and people they get so upset and threatened by there’s a picture of th in your Bible it’s it’s it’s not in the scripture it’s in the died in the back it’s a function of pedagogy it’s it’s it’s teaching a class 101 how do you learn it’s by using
Examples well what examples do we have well what are the base what examples what structure or institution out in the world in late 18th or 19 you know 18th and 16th century 17th century excuse me had a set of morals and principles and and you know themes the church or
Churches or different churches so it’s just it’s a a classical pedological example lead by example show people examples that’s how you learn that’s how you lead that’s how you move forward in life the the other um thing to mention is that that people tend to get whooped
Up about oh you’re sitting in Lodge with people that are other religions that’s sacrilegious you can’t do this Blasphemous first of all I don’t know where you work that you think everybody believes exactly what you do but you must either you work in the church or
You sit at home all by yourself all day because everywhere you go you are with people who are different than you are and they believe different things and so because of that um you know but when Mason rest started you know in the 1300s let’s say let’s just pick a ballpark at
Time 1300s is um that it was uncommon everybody you know either you believed this or you’re a bad person you don’t allowed to work here and masonry said we don’t care is you believe in God you’re good okay as long as you believe in God that’s fine are you the best Carpenter
Or best architect for this job you are okay then come over here that’s what that was about and you know now it’s not as big a deal we’re all you know it’s sort of homogenized but masonry was one of the first groups to say look as long
As you believe in God we don’t care what God is as long as you’re a good person you believe in God that’s it but they make such a big deal of like it’s some kind of weird thing I think always in life especially with talking about research you got to remember the context
Of the time yeah it’s not you cannot apply today’s standards on something in the past now I’ll fight you on the time frame when Freemasonry was organized but I agree with you on the idea of look at the general person look at the individual who was joining Freemasonry
Did they have access to the internet no did they have uh even an elementary school degree no did they know what you know could they even read agree ill literacy was a terrible issue it was a terrible issue and so yeah that’s that’s that’s you got to always apply the
Context the time amen um so real quick before we bail out of here um what do you have coming up and I’ll tell everybody what’s coming up on the channel and things of that nature I know you’re working on project that your next book which we will we can talk about
Whenever you want um you’re still speaking a lot man he’s been everywhere this guy has been every time I turn around Chris is like he’s over here speaking about Mozart to this anous Opa company doing that was really fun remember was God I really wanted to go I
Was tied up that day it was really looked really cool um and I I well it was not about it was more about mozarts not not free like it was General it was a 101 class on Freemason um no I’m working on a I’m working on a
Book working on a couple articles for heram and philes and uh visiting Grand Lodge of New Jersey for their educational session I’ve got a couple other educational sessions coming up that I can’t talk about yet they’re not made public yet hopefully and then I’ll be coming with you to the leadership
Conferences and the I believe are you going to the Grand Masters conference I am I’ll be with you the grand Masters conference I’ll see the leadership conferences yes so in the next couple months we’ll be in Seattle we’ll be in uh Salt Lake City Kansas City
Jacksonville um I was just in Tampa a couple weeks ago everybody in the Oriental Florida I love you guys all it was such a wonderful experience yeah blin and DED yeah it was it was fantastic they really took care of you yeah they did and um uh I’m speaking
Frederick Maryland in a couple of days um so a bunch of that stuff’s happening um December’s a a you know pretty busy uh holiday month uh my Lodge is again going to put 50,000 lights on the outside they’re already up they’re ready we’re going to do a big lighting
Ceremony December 3D every kid that comes gets a visit with Santa Claus on a toy so it’s it’s really awesome and um it’s it’s a you know we both got a lot happening um but content wise here on the channel um I’ve got a um he and I
Did a video just last week that is going to come out um very soon on five research sources that you’re really going to want to check out um also art de HOAs and I did a video talking about we reacted to a Tik Tok together uh about Albert Pike predicting World War I
And the stupidity of that it’s just the dumbest dumbest thing um and then I’ve got um I’ve got myself just reacting to some dumb Tik toks and and a whole lot more we’ve got we’ve got a lot of stuff happening on the channel um so uh plus
All of our podcasts are on the channel and we’ve got something very very special planned for I don’t even know if we’ve told you about this for Christmas uh for the podcast that I hope you really enjoy and some of your favorite podcast and Masonic content creators are
Going to come together and one really cool project oh nice yeah so I’ll tell you about it off offline but um so everybody stay tuned thank you so much if you’re not a subscriber please do subscribe if you know somebody who’s a Mason interested in masonry please have
Them subscribe if you’re crazy please don’t uh send me any messages and uh other than that thank you God bless and Happy Thanksgiving Happy Thanksgiving everyone I hope you have a great time I hope you have a relaxing time and a safe one with your family and uh do all the
