So there are many ways that the Bible describes Our God our God is the one and only true and living God and there are many ways that the B describes him and I want to list a couple of his perfect characteristics uh just for our hearing
Right if we listen them all we be here all day but here are a few Our God the one and only true and living God is a good God our God is a kind God our God is a holy God our God is a righteous God our God is a just God our
God is a relational God our God is a forgiving God he is a merciful god and he is a sovereign God the list can go on but let me in conclude with this one that our God is a sending God I’ll say it again our God is a sending
God what does it mean that our God is a sending not ascending aend sending God as it concerns the focus of this sermon here is what is meant by this attribute Our God sends a person to fulfill his purpose Our God sends a person to fulfill his purpose I use the word
Person because person can refer to to human Angelic and divine beings to say people only restricts that or restricts that to human beings but to say persons can include humans Angelic and divine beings when we check the biblical record we see this attribute of God being a
Sending God displayed for us on the stage agage of history when God got ready to deliver his people from Egyptian bondage God sent Moses Exodus 3: 7-2 records the following then the Lord said I have surely seen the Affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their

Assignment so what it does the role of an ambassador entail it entails quite a lot honestly but here in 2 Corinthians chapter 5 Paul focuses on the fact that as ambassadors of Christ here it is we have been entrusted that’s the point with the message of reconciliation as an ambassador of Jesus
What that entails is that you are y’all getting this personalize it you me we have been entrusted with thee Let the church say thee don’t don’t you read past definite articles in the Bible they there they’re there for a reason this is not a message of reconciliation this is the message of
Reconciliation there’s only one message of reconciliation that God has entrusted to you and to me as an ambassador of Christ what is the message of reconciliation great question you ready the Lord just revealed it to me verse 19 of 2 Corinthians chapter 5 look there with me that is in Christ God was
Reconciling the world to himself not counting their trespasses against them that’s the message of reconciliation that’s the message that Jesus has entrusted you with no don’t look down your row and don’t look up here in the pull pit and say yeah that’s for you pastors and
Deacons and them leaders in this room no no it’s God is entrusted you with it he isn’t trusted me with this message of reconciliation that God was in Christ turning the world from enemies of God to friends of God not counting our trespasses against us God in Christ
Turning enemies of God into friends of God not counting our trespasses against us do you know that everybody that is without Christ is an enemy of God that’s what we used to be oh that’s strong language but because it’s true you and I were Rebels against
God we didn’t seek God we didn’t want God we don’t obey God we are sinners Rebels by Nature by choice we are rebellious against God we are enemies of God from birth we are but God in Christ turns us from enemies to friends not counting our trespasses against
Us so our role as ambassadors for Christ hear this is to make sure that we stay true to that message is to make sure that we are clear in our communication of that message it’s it’s our job to make sure we don’t muddy the Waters of this
Message you know how we muddy the waters we muddy The Waters by telling somebody who says what what what must I do to be a Christian and be saved and we say believe in Jesus and and be baptized we muddy the waters when we say believe believe in Jesus and be baptized
And go to church and give and be good and don’t lie and don’t curse and don’t have sex before marriage and don’t tip out on your spouse and that’s mudy in the waters because what we’re doing is we are confusing sanctification for salvation and we’re not we’re not
Rightfully articulating that to be saved all that takes is faith in Christ everything else happens after you come to faith in Christ should you go to church yes but that’s not how you saved should you be baptized yes but that’s not how you saved should you should you

Be devoted you got to pray to the dead Saints you got to do this and do that and then you might get in you you you might every other religion is about what you need to do to pull yourself up buy your own spiritual bootstraps and get to
God Jes Christianity is God has done everything for us in Christ to save us he’s done everything scripture says for by Grace you are saved Ephesians through faith and that not of yourselves it is a gift of God not of Works do you hear this young person do
You hear this old the person you and I do not work for our Salvation some of us in here think that because we were raised in the church that somehow we just we got to shoe in when it comes with God we we in there
Like swimwear we in in there we on our way to heaven cuz we just grew up in church no no you can be like I once was and like many of us once were how we can be sa we we can be a church non-Christian you can be in church all
Your life and never come to know Jesus you can know about him but if you ain’t came to know him yet you still on your way to hell and you can go to church every single day of your life because knowing about Jesus won’t save you it’s placing faith in
Jesus personally that saves you so I part in this in this as a role as as a as an ambassador rather is in relationship to the message of reconciliation is this it is to urgently call strongly implore people to respond to this message by turning from sin and trusting in

God as an ambassador family it is our responsibility to get the message out but also call people to respond you need to turn from sin and Trust Jesus tell them about the gospel what is the gospel Jesus died for your sins and was raised come on help me preach the

Jesus that’s that’s what we are called to do we need to tell our children this turn from your sin and trust in Jesus we need to tell our parents this turn from your sin and Trust in Christ we need to tell our siblings this turn
From sin and trust in Jesus you need to tell your frat brothers this you need to tell your sorority sisters this you need to tell your uncles and your AES this you need to tell your cousin them this you need to tell your boss this you need to tell your co-workers this you
Need to tell your classmates this you need to tell your homeboy this you need to tell your home girl this tell them that they need to turn from sin and Trust Jesus and you may not say all the exact same words but you need you need

What what a part of being a good soldier is in that verse did did you read it it it’s there um it’s there in verse four no soldier gets entangled here’s the word for somebody for all of us here’s here it is stay away from entanglement now now listen we ain’t talking about
The we ain’t talking about the pink and Smith kind that I mean that’s that’s a variety of it but uh but but stay away from entanglements what what is an entanglement here it is anything that can interfere with us pleasing Jesus it’s it’s the end the text no
Soldier gets entangled in civil civilian Pursuits since his aim is is to please the one who enlisted him who enlisted you in the God’s Army Jesus did an entanglement is anything that can interfere with us pleasing Jesus and a part of pleasing Jesus is to be on mission for Jesus engaging the
World with the good news of Jesus now there are all types of entanglements that can interfere with us being on mission to lead people to trust and Obey Jesus and particularly leading people to trust Jesus but I want to give you some of the most common ones y’all ready here
It is and we almost done there’s an entanglement of personal pleasure we we can become entangled as Soldiers of Christ when we get entangled in personal this is where you and I are consumed with our own Comfort we’re consumed with our own convenience we’re consumed with happiness we’re consumed with pleasure
Now hear the word consumed cuz those things in up S are not necessarily bad it’s okay to want some convenience it’s okay to want some level of comfort it’s okay to want some level of happiness and pleasure but to be consumed with it it becomes an entanglement okay so so here’s how some
Of us how we struggle with this and get entangled it looks like this if if if anything is going to call me to sacrifice I don’t want to do it if anything is going to cause me to have to go beyond myself I won’t do it if it’s going to
Cause me any type of discomfort I don’t want to do it that’s being entangled l in personal pleasure because I don’t know if you know this or not but you follow Jesus long enough and he’s going to call us to sacrifice he’s going to call us to go
Beyond ourselves he’s going to call us into discomfort all of that happens and it especially happens when we try to reach lost people with the gospel it’s going to involve all of that to at some point or another oh can anybody testify how discomforting it is for you to have to
Talk to people that you may not necessarily know or talk to people that you do know but you don’t necessarily know how they going to respond if you tell them about Jesus y’all ain’t had that discomfort am I the only one that’s de had to deal with that anxiety that comes with
That anybody anybody ever had any experience you will where where you had a plan to go one way and to go to the store and just get in and get out and then the holy spirit says uhuh hold on I need you to have this conversation or he brings somebody your
Way Lord this is inconvenient that’s a part of what it is to be a missionary that that to not get entangled in personal place we have to remind ourselves wait a minute man this is this is I got to put my Soldier boots on and realize everywhere I go that I’m on
Mission everywhere you go you are on Mission and it will call for us to to get out of personal pleasure at times and if we’re not careful we get entangled in that to where where we we are so we are so engrossed in our own bubble I’m telling you what I know I
Ain’t preaching just preaching at you I’m preaching to myself and get engrossing our own bubble in our own comfort and our own pleasure to where we we stop being focused on the mission that Jesus has called us to here’s another one there’s an entanglement of busyness an entanglement of business
Where we’re always on the go and on the grind all the time now here me some of this is beyond our control right sometimes you can be in a space in life at a job or whatever where you can’t necessarily con control somebody’s work schedule the they the
Hours that they’re calling you to work but but hear me hear me if we’re not careful that can become an entanglement and here’s what I want to say to somebody in love some of you need to pray for God to open up another door of employment or maybe even walk away from it
Yourself uhhuh I remember I there was a brother in the life of our church uh he got a job with a particular company and it began to interfere with his Devotion to our church and I remember talking to him one Sunday at the church and I we were praying for him
We were like praying for a job for him and everything of that nature uh and and and he God bless him with the job uh and and then he came to me and he was like Pastor he said man I thank you for praying he said man but I I had to
Quit I was said oh really he said yeah man I had to quit I had to resign I said okay what for he said man because in this particular case he was like because it started to interfere with me coming to church on Sunday and inside my heart there was a
Pastoral smile I just there’s a smile on my heart cuz I was like bro what like yeah what like good for you brother that you in that case that may not be everybody’s case but in his case he felt like he needed to walk away because it became an entanglement to
Him sometimes family we need to be willing to sacrifice certain things if it’s going to if that thing is going to interfere with us being on mission for Jesus and how many you know that brother God later on still providing him with another job y’all ain’t hearing me we we
Serve Jehovah Gyra y’all God God is our provider y’all know the Bible the Bible says seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all of these things will be added unto you all of the things that you need God is a faithful provider that’s for somebody in the
Building today I don’t know you need to go out and apply this to your life because you’ve been contemplating whether or not to make a certain decision or whatever the case is and you’ve worried about how you going to eat how you going what you going to
Drink what you going to where God got you if he leads you away from it if he puts it on your heart he is never going to for sake I I have been young now I’m old David said and I have never seen the righteous forsaken no his seed begging bread ever
Ever entanglement of business sometimes things are beyond our control but but sometimes it may not be sometimes we are busy it’s because some of us are just is such Workaholics here it is that it’s stopping us from seeing Divine opportunities God is putting before us to influence and point people to Jesus
Cuz we so focused here here it is family we are so engrossed in the product of our company industry or business that we’re failing to see the people of our company industry or business that God has put around you to reach for Jesus but we can get entangled at business and
We got I got to do this and we got to crank this out and we got to do the numbers and month in and all these different type of stuff and we focused on the product and the the technology or whatever it is the service and we are so
Focused on that that we missing people God has put around us it’s easy to get entangled in the business of our business that we miss the father’s business of trying to reach the people in the business um God God ain’t just sent you to that business for you to get a paycheck right
He has not sent you in that industry just for you to get money that’s a part of it but your fundamental role is he has CAU that’s your mission field that’s the field of Education of business of account of of the medical field of whatever it is Merchant whatever it is mechanic
Whatever It Is God has called you into that space to be a missionary because there are people there that he knows that he’s going to want to use you to reach for Jesus and if you are entangled too much in business you will miss it you know God ain’t sent you to just
Work at a place for 40 hours a week or how many hours a week and you just he just wants you there spending that much time just to make money man do you do you know we serve the type of God that he can he can open
Up a fishes a fish mouth and get give you money if you need money we serve the type of God where he can he can he can divide and multiply loads of fish if he want if he need he is not he is not limited to that job yeah
In order to provide for you I’m a living witness I know I’m not the only one he he’ll do a laundry Miracle blessing W he honey he he he’ll have he’ll have you pulling cash out of your pocket and you didn’t know you had that much cash in your pocket and give you
Enough money to pay a bill off that you didn’t know how you were going to pay it off God ain’t just sent you there to that job to make money he sent you there to be on Mission cuz there are people there who you know don’t know Jesus at
All and will never darken the doors of a church you can invite them here all day and they would be like I that’s good for you and I’m not saying we shouldn’t invite them to church but that’s not the primary responsibility of an ambassador Ambassador yeah you have the
Message I have the message we are called to take it to him God it’s place you there to be able to do that so there’s an entanglement hear me of business but watch this uh the church can also well not I’m not going to the next Point hold
On the church can also fall prey to the entanglement of busyness think about it think about it think about it this is why I love our church don’t because we don’t don’t leave your thinking cap at the dog think think with me if we are not
Careful as a church we can buy into this misguided notion that a faithful church is a busy church that that our church is only going to be on and popping when we got 50 billion Ministries and programs and events going on not against that but what I have seen
I have been in other churches and what I have seen typically what can tend to happen is that we can adopt that mindset and it can also be adopted as the church starts to grow and as a consequence what happens is that we begin to put on all types of
Programs and events for the church and at the church that essentially hear this take the mission ball out of your hands okay so so so let me let me let me make this live for you so so so there there are times when if we’re not careful there are Christians that can
Join a church and they and and they think well well where my church got all these Ministries and then they got they have an evangelism Ministry and what we say is well well that’s only for those who are gifted in evangelism somebody ask you does your church evangelize and and we’ll say yeah
Because we got an evangelism Ministry you know what the evangelism Ministry is it’s the entire church people say why does harvest have an evangelism Ministry we are the evangelists yeah everybody sitting up in here is the Evangelist it’s a part of the evangelism Ministry because we all
Called to be our mission for Jesus do you see what what this does when we can set up all of these programs and events that it not only does it take the mission ball out of your hands it also has the tendency to take you off of the mission
Field and to get you to go solely hang in the locker room of Christian fellowships y’all y’all listen listen listen to what listen to what I’m saying some y miss that analogy all together but but follow me the mission field is out there God has given us a mission
Ball the gospel he’s handed it to you run with it at your job wherever he’s placed you but in some Churches when we get entangled in business what we want to tell you to do is put the ball down and come back in the locker room and let’s have potlucks together or
Let have Christian Zumba together or let’s have Christian this and Christian that and we got all of these Alternatives let’s have Christian trick or treat at the church you know bring our kid bring your kids here don’t take them out there to the devil’s workshop don’t do that don’t take them to the
Devil’s to the city’s trick or treat event don’t do that come to the church where it’s safe do you see what that and the Heart behind that may be good but it’s taking us away from the mission field we have committed as a church we
Won’t do that we are going we are not going to take you from the mission field now if you want 50 billion events and fellowships and potlucks with the senior Saints over here and the little saints over here and the single Saints over here and the married Saints over here
And then you got this biker club with this Christian group and you got this Domino playing club with this you know this Christian Domino group and then you got this over here with the Cowboys group and you got this over here with the Eagles group and you got
This and next you know not only are you here Sunday but then you coming back every Sunday evening then you’re coming back on Monday for mission on Tuesday for Bible class on Wednesday for Bible study Thursday for choir rehearsal Friday for Brotherhood Saturday you got
To come in here cuz we doing whatever we packing brown bags with the oranges and stuff for the kids and then next you know you ain’t got no time none engaging neighbors engaging people who God has placed you around we don’t want to get entangled in just being busy just to be
Busy we’re not opposed to Fellowship but we want to be strategic about it we’re not opposed to to to hanging out and doing potluck but we want be strategic about it there’s a rhythm we have here at Harvest it’s a rhythm that we have here at Harvest and we are our leaders
Are laser focus on making sure that we’re not double booking stuff and we’re not doing stuff just to be doing stuff how is this going to help us grow in Christ and get the message of Christ out and if it ain’t gonna do one of those two things we’re not doing
It because we got our eye on the mission bar we are focused and Mission driven here’s here’s another one is the entangle of the Love of Money listen you and I spend all of our money on bills and our livelihood and we virtually give pennies when it comes to
God’s church and other Christian nonprofits we entangled I’m not saying don’t take care of your bills and don’t take you know and live your life but God has blessed you hear me with money so that first and foremost you honor him with a percentage of that an amount
Of that a TI of that and you give that to the local church in his honor that’s what that’s what God says we need to be doing bills come next livelihood comes next he amen how am I going to if I pay God and I give to God how I’m going take care
Didn’t we just tell you that God God provides for his people that God never fails man he never fails I can’t tell you I if I have the mic I can pass it around this church and have the saints of God can help booler your faith and
Your obedience to God man trust God he his word never lies it never fails if you do what God wants he’ll provide for your needs M and that’s when you hear the pen drop in the chair you hear that it’s like well no Pastor I don’t know about that
You I was with you when you said entanglement of business I was with [Laughter] you we got a love and money man that we got to get rid of and the way that God helps us to get rid of that in the practical way obviously it’s through Christ and the
Gospel but how that flows out is we be generous yeah is commit to doing it that keeps you keeps us from being entangled by The Love and Money God ain’t God ain’t God ain’t worried about you having money that’s not that’s not the sin y’all know some people misquote the Bible
Here like they say the the money is the root of all evil you hear you got listen money is the root have y’all heard this money is the root of all that ain’t what the Bible says the Bible says For the Love of Money is a root of all kinds of evil
