Beta Upsilon Chi, a chapter within Greek Life’s Interfraternity Council, recently held a drive through food pantry at their home on Milledge Avenue.

Through this event, BYX was able to raise awareness regarding food insecurity within the local community.

Last year, the brothers of Beta Upsilon Chi included food insecurity as an aspect of their philanthropic efforts. The chapter partnered with the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia to assist with the event and ensure its success.

“We are the first fraternity to partner with The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia for an event like this,” said BYX President Landon Kolby. “There will certainly be more to come in the future.”

The chapter set up a drive through route, had a traffic team, coordinated with the surrounding neighborhood, and trained brothers on the proper procedures.

Overall, the event served 150 of families within the community.

“This event turned out phenomenal,” said Kolby. “We believe it had a great impact.” To learn more about the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, visit https://foodbanknega.org/.
