What’s up y’all it’s your girl deja janae exo and i’m back with another video so today as you can tell by the title i will be doing yes another question and answer um the last time i’ve done one of these on my channel was probably about a year ago
Like i think i really think it was like literally a year ago like december january-ish and it’s december the 29th so happy one year anniversary but not for real um i’m doing a question to answer a couple weeks ago i asked my followers on instagram for some questions
And people i was surprised there’s so many people send questions in um so yeah i’m going to answer these i don’t know if i’m going to do all of them because i’m supposed to do this with my lawn sister but you know how schedules clash and she
Has to work and you know our schedule’s not really in line so i might do a part two with her but i’m gonna go ahead and get half of these out the way because it was a lot so i’m just gonna go ahead and get into it so the first question
Is what are some tips to give someone on balancing a sorority in class um if i didn’t have my planner i probably would have freaked out because i’m i’ve i have a terrible memory so like if i don’t write it down and be able to go back and flip it and be like
Oh this is due this day my head will fall off so i made sure i wrote down everything every due date every class every meeting every everything was in my planner like if i lost my planner i was losing my mom literally like i don’t know what i would have done if i
Did not have my planner um i would also say to another good piece of advice is if you feel yourself getting lost you need to figure out how to catch it before you get too far deep if that makes sense so like for example me and math like i’ve always
Been really good at math but like for example like if i feel myself not really catching one concept i’m the type of person i have to make sure i understand that before you can teach me anything else because if i don’t know this i don’t know the rest of it
Like you know what i mean so if you feel yourself kind of slipping you need to get clarification or clarity right then and there instead of waiting until you know you all the way down here struggling because you didn’t act something that was like right here if that makes sense so
I would just say make sure that you’re on top of it being completely organized and if you feel yourself you know slacking a little bit you know get help as soon as possible because yeah you’re going you gotta stay on top of it um next question is how has coffee 19
Affected greek life so it definitely has i’m gonna go ahead and start with that yes you can still get to know somebody like virtually or like you know through text or phone call or facetime or whatever but it’s not the same as meeting face-to-face you know talking face-to-face you get your mannerisms you
Can understand somebody’s mannerisms you can understand like their tone like face-to-face is just different so it’s definitely affected that in a way that you can’t really talk to someone especially if you don’t know them as easy as you would be able to if you were seeing them
In person so that’s one thing that it has affected also it’s affected like the events like i know for certain organizations you can’t do anything in person everything is virtual everything is online so i mean it’s kind of a good thing that we do have technology because like we can still do the
Certain events but as far as like you know certain events are just better in person but since the whole coca 19 situation is here we have to do them virtually so yeah it’s affected that too question is how do you show interest if the org doesn’t have any events
So i don’t know if this is more specific towards they haven’t had any events because of covet or they haven’t been having any events period but even with the whole situation like i said people have been doing virtual events so um to get to show interest i would say pull somebody aside like
You know if you see somebody that you constantly see or you know that girl that’s somebody who you have class with or you always you know walk past her you always see her i would say pull her aside or even if that’s your friend put her aside and say hey you don’t want
To formally introduce myself my name is so-and-so and i’m interested in your organization because x y and z whatever whatever um just because they don’t have events doesn’t mean that you can’t get to know them um you just have to be a little bit more
Bold and go out of your way to get to know them but that’s just my opinion is what is something people should really think about before thinking about participating in intake so number one on my list is the commitment you need to make sure that you’re joining this because you want to
Be a part you want to make a change you want to be a difference in your community like you want to be in this organization you want to put the work in you want to do all this stuff you need to make sure that’s something that you want to do because
When you cross like there’s so much work that needs to be done there’s so much you need to do to make the you know your community better like there is so much that is required of you and ex of you and something that you should want to do like it shouldn’t even be
Something that somebody has to pull your teeth to do like it’s something that you should you should want to do so yeah don’t take into consideration the money you know being a sororities being the fraternities are not cheap by any means necessary like it’s not cheap if you get rejected from
A sorority should you try again so i feel like personally if you have to ask this question and that means you don’t really want to be a part of that organization and maybe you should not apply the first time but um i’m going to say yes obviously because if there’s something
That you really want to do you want to let that one know deter you from doing it again um unless it was like a a serious reason as to why you got rejected but if it was like because you were missing something or you didn’t have this requirement like
Why not fix it and try again you can’t just let one know stop you from doing something that you really want to do and i feel like if you really want to do it it wouldn’t even be a question as to should i try again it needs to be a why
Didn’t i make it okay cool let me fix this and i got you next time like it should be more so that way i hope that makes sense can sororities deny you the opportunity to interview so every organization is different i don’t know if you’re if you’re speaking on my
Organization specifically but every organization is different so that’s something you will have to figure out and do your research and find out that way but um if you don’t meet the minimum requirements then you won’t get interviewed i guess the answer to your question is yes because if you don’t meet the
Requirements then you know why interview yeah okay next question is is this sorority active on campus yes my chapter is active um you can follow us on instagram and yeah you can get all the updates there um last question i guess i’ll do is any oh no last question is was it hard
To manage grades during intake um for me personally i’m saying no it wasn’t hard um i don’t even remember how many credits i was taking i want to say 15 maybe i want to sell second 15 credit hours and they were all in my major i
Was taking all my major classes at that point but um no it wasn’t hard to keep my grades together during my um intake process but that’s not you know saying that it was the same for the next girl or somebody who you know had a different major than me or somebody
Who’s taking different classes to me yeah um so i’m gonna go ahead and wrap this video up here i answer i wanna say 11 questions and i have like ten more um i’m gonna try to do this part two with my lawn sister but if we can’t
Figure out a day to do it then i’ll probably just do it by myself again so y’all get to see my face again but hopefully um at least one of my long sisters i might find somebody who can do it so y’all can see a different face get a different perspective
Other than mine because i know you’re probably tired of hearing me talk about certain stuff but maybe i want to hear from somebody else so um i’ll probably try to find one of my sisters to do it um so yeah i hope y’all enjoyed this
