Hi welcome to Storytime Saturday or Saturday Story Time whichever you want to call it all right so I want to talk about white people who make themselves comfortable in predominantly black spaces okay so I was watching this video of a white girl that’s in some black
Sority and I don’t I just it’s a clip I’m going to add the clip to here I’m not going to even pause the clip um to show you like I normally do I’m just going to add it in and just you’ll just continue hear my voice I just feel like this
Girl this white girl in a black sority doing the bare minimum as other black people cheer her on it’s really disgusting and it makes me feel very uncomfortable okay because these are the same black spaces that were created because that white girl or her family members and her
Ancestors made spaces that was only for whites only so black people had to make their own spaces because they weren’t wanted in those white spaces so I don’t understand how white people can just go to an HBCU or pledge a black fraternity or black sority or join an HBCU a marching
Band or go to different organizations that are specifically Geared for black people and white people attend those those spaces they they interject themselves into those spaces comfortably meanwhile you have this white girl that’s on the stage doing the bare minimum moves for this uh black sority and I’m almost certain that she
Cannot take any of her sority sisters back home because her Mima hates black people I can almost guarantee it if it’s not her M all it’s somebody in her family that don’t like black people and it’s not enough for her to go and take
Any of her Sor um members to back to her home to introduce them much less to even further give the black community or the black sority members resources that she has to become wealthy to meet other uh people or other white people that can possibly change their lives change their
Family’s life allow them to grow wealth so that they can pass on to their kids what I see about these white people that do these things where they’re only being your ally in your space but they’re not going to bring you to their space and they’re
Not going to cheer you on I never see like white people cheering on black people or black person the way black people do with white people and it’s very disgusting and it and it hurts and it hurts me to the Core that I see black people do this and I don’t really blame
Black people too much for this is because that’s our nature our nature is to be kind we are not a hurtful hurtful Community just because you hurt us we’re not going to hurt you and that’s what hurts me and that these white people know that they know they can come into
Our space and we’re going to wel welcome them with open arms but they don’t do that for us and I can’t help but be mad sometimes at the black people for allowing these white people to come into our spaces and to be getting so much credit for doing the
Bare minimum when their Community won’t even highlight what they’re doing a little dance a little shimmy you think that their their Community is going to yell and scream for that for them and put them all over social media for other black people to cheer them on they’re not going to do
That that’s the bare [ __ ] minimum these white people are not breaking systemic racism for us they’re only an ally in the dance room and not in the boardroom and it’s sickening it just it just sickening and then I remember watching a video of a black woman she was just
Saying that um she was looking for a running group in her area and she was looking more for a running group that would help her start running cuz she was like a beginner and she found this this group running group and in the the description it said is good for
Beginners intermediate or expert we’re very friendly we you know it’s it she felt like oh wow this would be a perfect running group to join because not only is it a black running group but they specifically said that they help beginners it’s a good um group for
Beginners and so she was like okay cool and she didn’t give out the name of the running group but black was in it black women was in the name of the running group so say for instance says black R black women running group okay why when she got there the next morning
To go do a morning run with this group there was four white women already there stretching getting ready to run and she was just taking a back like what are these white women doing here like in the group the group name it says black women so you know this group is
For black women why are you here and she said they were just jogging when they started jogging they were just jogging you taking lead and everything and it’s just like that’s so Rude that is really oppression I feel like they’re trying to make a statement when they come into our spaces like how dare you not want us here and in every part of our Lives why people are centered and they will come into our spaces and still Center themselves so
When you’re cheering on these white people who are in your fraternity and into in your sorority who is leading a black predominantly black marching band and you have a White Band me band uh was it um you have a a white person who’s leading the band the band leader or you have
That and you’re cheering them on because they’re doing some black moves and they’re dancing to black music oh they’re cool yeah bring them to the cookout give me a break the only person that the only white person that I would invite to the cookout is McKenzie Scott and I Will Always Forever say
McKenzie Scott because not forever I wouldn’t say forever because I don’t want to give her too much credit but McKenzie Scott is Jeff Basil’s ex-wife and she got a a billion dollar settlement in her divorce when she divorced him and if you don’t know who Jeff Bezos is he’s the owner founder of
Amazon and she took a majority of her money I would say I wanted I’m not going to even guess but she took over a 100 million I know that for sure she took over aund million of her dollars and donated it to HBCU millions of dollars to them I know
For sure she donated 25 million to um Tuskegee University so she wasn’t just giving $100,000 here or $1,000 she was giving these HBCU millions of dollars and I know she helped other um people of color communities and their organizations and she put her money towards that towards re those are
Resources that’s education that’s going to actually help move us forward so these white people who are invading our spaces all they’re doing is invading our spaces they’re just letting you know that you’re not going to not censor them they’re letting you know that even though their people won’t accept us in
Their space that they know that you’re going to accept them in our space and not only that you’re going to applaud them and cheer them on and show them so much love for doing the bare [ __ ] minimum but someone like a McKenzie Scott she won’t even get recognized I
Bet a lot of people who watch this they be like oh I didn’t even know that I didn’t even know she did that really but they’ll give more props to someone who joined a fraternity a black fraternity or black sority that’s that’s them breaking systemic racism is by joining your
Fraternity when a lot of the white fraternities don’t even like to have black people in theirs these spaces was created for us why aren’t we gatekeeping them why are we allowing white people who don’t want us in their in their space they don’t want us to they keep
Doing things in the year of 2023 going on 2024 where they’re still trying to oppress Us in so many ways they’re still taking trying to take our rights there’s a black woman organiz ation that is fighting be in a laws fighting a lawsuit against a billion doll company that’s
Trying to stop this black woman Organization for giving other black women money funding to help build their businesses and if this black woman organization loses that will give them the Anum ammunition sorry that would give these white people and these white organizations the push that they need to create create laws that will
Prevent organizations that help specifically give money to a specific race they don’t want that to happen they don’t want us to get free money money that’s not even coming out of their pockets they just don’t want it to happen and I will leave the link to that
Lawsuit so that you can see that any which way that black people try to progress and try to elevate our com our our community why people are right there to take it all away from us so why aren’t we gatekeeping our our spaces that’s the least we can do is keep our space
Black because they’re going to keep their spaces white and they’re going to limit the access to those white spaces and the only people that they really allow in those spaces are black people and other people of color who are going to help them continue with the systemic racism continue oppressing
Us they’re going to give a couple of people money black a couple of black people money and just say hey we we have our we have our quota we have our two black people that we give money to and that’s it that’s why I I hate when every year
Like when the Grammys come around and the OS come around and everybody’s like that’s not fair they didn’t they don’t have no black winners it’s because those those um programs those shows were cre weren’t created for us to be included it wasn’t in we weren’t a thought to even
Like be honored at those events and when they did honor us when they did start honoring us they didn’t even let them let the black people honores sit with the other white people they had to sit in the back backstage somewhere or even outside in their car until they were
Called to come in to accept their award but yet you have these black artists and black actors and resses they don’t take like na NAACP image Awards seriously they don’t take Soul Train Awards seriously they don’t take those black award shows seriously no because they want Grammys
They want an Emmy they want to be an egot they want to have a Tony they want to have a oscar but no one’s trying to run to go get an NAACP award you’re being highlighted and honored by your own people and that that’s not valuable and those award shows were created because
White people and their white award shows and their white organizations didn’t want to highlight us but still yet white people have found a way to Center themselves in our spaces and they continue to do it and they’re showing no progress where they’re trying to help in systemic racism in
Oppression in the the wealth Gap they keep showing us the wealth Gap that white families have $170,000 they’re worth an average of $170,000 and black families are worth only $177,000 but yet we celebrate white people doing bare minimum mediocre [ __ ] mediocre [ __ ] in our spaces and that’s
Not good Alexa can’t even help us if we continue doing going down this route it’s like man if we just break through our minds and I just remember United Negro College Fund they always said a mind is a terrible thing to waste hey a mind is a terrible thing to waste
And there’s a reason why they say that and it and it still holds true till now 2023 that our minds is going to waste and they’re finding so many ways to not allow us to get ahead because they know we’re smart a lot of us are smart a lot
Of us are kings and queens within our own right in whatever we want to do whether it’s medical whether it’s um entertainment it don’t matter what industry you’re in there’s black greatness in everything that we do the black Excellence is really black Excellence we are all great even I will
See uh just greatness in some black people that I see homeless and I’m just like man they just didn’t get a chance to like really unlock their potential unlock their greatness and a lot of us what’s holding us back is our minds the fact that we don’t have access to
Therapy if a lot more black people got therapy man so many of us will be so rich in just life not money but just life like I’m I’m going to therapy now and I’m just like wow I’m just blown away at how I held myself back and I
Just can feel like damn I wish other black people can have this access because so many of us are being held back because of what’s going on here so to see a white person getting cheered on by other black people it hurts me because that white person is taking a
Space that another black person could have been in we could have been celebrating another black person but instead we’re not there’s one less black person on that fraternity or that sorority or that ban that that white person took that was meant for black people that black space that white
Person is occupying was meant for a black person and now that black person that could have had that space who knows what is happening to them now that they don’t have that space and we’re centering this white person stop just please stop gatekeep and there’s this girl I think
At UC UCLA or USC one of them I always get them confused she’s a black girl and she’s bringing her her the black dances that uh a lot of the HBCU bands do as the majorettes she’s bringing that to a predominantly white school and she and she’s trying to bring her culture there
Why you shouldn’t share your culture with white people they don’t give a [ __ ] and she’s just dancing and prancing and with you know whole group of with girls doing the the the black dances and I’m just like oh my God all you see is a seat of white people and she’s doing this
Dance that you would typically see at a HBCU game and the black and the white people are just they’re drunk they don’t give a [ __ ] they don’t know what the [ __ ] you’re doing and do they care they won’t even care and I’ll say I I’ll put a link to
To that too to the girl that’s trying to do that at a at a predominately white college and I’m just like stop trying to prove [ __ ] to white people they don’t [ __ ] care they don’t [ __ ] care and if they did care we would have so much change
Right now we would not be constantly being pushed back our progress would not be constantly pushed back every [ __ ] year every election year too it’s just it’s just mind-blowing and the fact that they are now legalizing marijuana but the main people who are in jail for the marijuana charges are black
People but the ones who are benefiting from the legalized marijuana are white people you rarely see a blackowned marijuana dispensary and they’re not really easily giving money to black people for those dis expens Aries even though our community is the number one inmates or on number one people who
Are affected by those drug arrests and it’s slowly but surely those people who are in jail just for marijuana charges it’s taking them a long time to get out of jail when it should be one two three it shouldn’t be that hard should be like okay this
Inmate he should be able to submit to somewhere to a program or some somewhere a some agency and say hey I only have marijuana charges now that it’s legal in the state that I’m from I should be let out it should be that easy but no it’s a
Process for them to get out meanwhile a whole bunch of white people are becoming millionaires at these um dispensaries these marijuana dispensaries but yet you want to go off and be yelling and screaming for Sarah Grace as she does a twostep representing your sority and she can’t even take you to go
See her mimo because her mimo won’t like you she’ll be like what’s this [ __ ] doing in my house okay can’t you can’t expect any white person that was alive around & to really respect and honor you they come from that time and that’s the kind of people that we’re honor ing in our
Spaces stop censoring white people in Black spaces again stop censoring white people in predominantly black spaces please gaty do not give a white person a space in your black space your black ass space and preventing another black person from getting in that space you know what that is that’s
Antiblack that’s really anti-black I don’t know if a lot of black people know how anti-black they are I know for myself I have been and I am on this anti-black journey where I’m unlearning thoughts and ideas of antiblackness but every time I see a white person in a predominantly black space occupying a
Space that is really meant for another black person that is antiblack and you are promoting systemic racism again in your own space by helping that white person come in and censoring themselves it’s a sickness for a white person to say you know what I want to go to an
HBCU you know what I want to join a black sority you know what I want to go and join a black fraternity not only that I’m going to go and audition to be the band leader of a HBCU band that’s what I’m going to do you really have to be sick in your
Mind to do that you really have to be a hateful person to do that to want to be in a black space that was never created for you that your ancestors forced our ancestors to create these spaces for us and for you to want to be in that space you ain’t
[ __ ] and that’s all I got to say see you on the next video bye
