Join Us at Fenway Park on April 25 for Boston College’s Annual ALS Awareness Game
John West of Boston College has been named Captain of the inaugural Lou Gehrig Community Impact Team, sponsored by Phi Delta Theta and the Live Like Lou Foundation. The Lou Gehrig Community Impact Team annually recognizes the giving character and community impact of collegiate baseball players.
A team of representatives from Phi Delta Theta and the Live Like Lou Foundation will present the award to West on Thursday, April 25 prior to the Boston College Eagles’ 7:00 p.m. ALS Awareness Game against the Virginia Cavaliers at Fenway Park. Phi Delta Theta will also join the Live Like Lou Foundation and the Permobil Foundation on the field for a special presentation to an ALS family.
The annual ALS Awareness Game is played in honor of former Boston College baseball captain Pete Frates, who was diagnosed with ALS in March 2012 and passed away in 2019 at the age of 34. Ticket proceeds from the game benefit the Pete Frates Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting ALS patients and their families with the cost of the specialized care required for patient stability as the disease progresses and they continue to live at home.
We hope that you will join us as we gather area Phis, friends, and family for this special event!
