Now Hiring: Florida Alpha Live-in Leadership Adviser
The Florida Alpha Live-In Leadership Adviser (LILA) is a full-time role created for the 2026-2027 academic year during our efforts to restart the chapter at the University of Florida. The individual in this role lives in on-site in the chapter facility at no cost to the employee, assists in day-to-day operations of the chapter facility, coaches the chapter’s emerging executive committee, and participates as a front-line recruiter responsible for identifying, attracting, and educating Founders. The LILA works in close partnership with General Headquarters, the growth team, the house corporation, the chapter advisory board, parents club, and the host university to ensure a strong launch and sustainable foundation for the re-emerging chapter.

Founded at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, on December 26, 1848, Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity has 189 chapters and emerging chapters and ninety alumni clubs across the United States and Canada. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations, support strategic decision-making, and ensure compliance across all entities.

House Details
- Six live-in members presently, approximately sixty re-founders already committed.
- Furnished suite with Bedroom, private bathroom, living space, private washer and dryer in the bathroom.
- Access, as needed, to kitchen and small appliances utilized by in-house meal service company.
- Reserved parking spot
- Compensation includes free room and board with participation in the house meal plan available Monday through Thursday each week.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Recruitment & Business Development
- Collaborate with the GHQ growth team to plan and execute the chapter restart, setting recruitment goals, organizing logistics, and ensuring a smooth return to the University of Florida.
- Proactively generate and cultivate potential new member leads through strategic networking, referrals, social media campaigns, and campus partnerships.
- Engage with potential Founders through cold outreach, warm introductions, personalized messages, and in-person interactions to showcase the Phi Delta Theta experience.
- Host interactive recruitment events, information sessions, and one-on-one meetings to identify potential new members, assess organizational fit, and build strong peer-to-peer connections.
Founder Education & Chapter Operations
- Educate and mentor Founders on fraternity leadership, recruitment strategies, chapter operations, and campus engagement to ensure long-term success.
- Guide the emerging chapter in forming its executive committee, ensuring the right candidates step into leadership roles and receive the training needed to lead effectively.
- Coach student leaders through regular interaction with emerging chapter leadership and general membership.
- Regularly attend executive committee meetings, retreats, and emerging chapter meetings to support leadership planning and to build relationships with members.
- Provide ongoing support in recruitment, chapter operations, philanthropy, and brotherhood-building to help the re-emerging chapter establish a strong foundation.
Stakeholder Relationships
- Serve as the on-site point of contact between the chapter, General Headquarters, the house corporation, the chapter advisory board, the parents club, and where appropriate university staff.
- Communicate regularly with all stakeholders on matters pertaining to the emerging chapter and/or facility, ensuring alignment and transparency.
- Work with the house to ensure that the tenants of the facility uphold the terms of the lease agreement.
Risk Management & Member Education
- Provide ongoing education and guidance to chapter officers and members regarding Phi Delta Theta’s risk management policies, unified new member education plan, and chapter bylaws.
- Model and enforce the Fraternity’s values and health and safety standards in all chapter activities.
Growth Coaching & Continuous Improvement
- Act as the resident recruitment coach for the emerging chapter, helping develop strategies to attract members and achieve growth goals.
- Lead in-person and virtual training sessions, recruitment workshops, and one-on-one coaching for the recruitment chairman and other officer
Qualifications
- Be able to convey relevant job experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, web-based applications, and general computer skills
- Ability to speak and read English
- May work extended hours and/or non-traditional hours (i.e., can respond to emergencies 24/7)
- Ability to exercise proper discretion and independent judgment in fulfilling primary roles and responsibilities of the position.
- Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational, and written skills.
- Sound judgment with strong problem-solving skills.
- Preferred experience in property management.
Work Environment:
- Meet the specified physical requirements for living, including lifting no more than thirty-five pounds, standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
- Willingness to travel.
- Ability to work and respond during off-hours.

Live-In Leadership Adviser Application
A live-in leadership adviser assists a chapter as it builds relationships with its house corporation, chapter advisory board, parents club, and university/college administration. Duties are conducted in consultation with the General Headquarters, house corporation, chapter advisory board, and university/college faculty and staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: the management of the house or physical structure; ensuring the chapter is upholding the risk management policies of Phi Delta Theta, the local chapter bylaws, and the terms of the lease agreement; and assisting the chapter leadership with overall chapter operations.
Through the Fraternity’s strategic plan, Phi Delt 2030, the Fraternity has a goal to place and train a certified live-in leadership adviser in 100 percent of all eligible house corporation-owned properties by 2030.
